Position Title: Helpline Advisor
Reports To: Helpline Supervisor
Salary: £27,000 (0.5 FTE)
Hours: 20 hours/week (including 3 shifts/week, 5 hours each)

Role Purpose:
The Helpline Advisor will be the first point of contact for individuals reporting incidents of anti-Muslim hate. The role requires delivering empathetic, confidential, and high-quality support to callers, as well as accurately recording reports and ensuring all relevant procedures are followed.
Helpline Advisors will support service users via multiple channels—phone, email, SMS, online chat and web form, by listening actively, offering appropriate information, and making referrals to specialist services where required. They will work closely with the Helpline Supervisor and participate in debriefs and reflective practice after each shift or reported incident.
Advisors will also play an important role in ensuring accurate data capture, safeguarding procedures, and upholding the values of compassion, non-judgement, and confidentiality.
Role Responsibilities:

Answer incoming calls from victims of hate crime with empathy and professionalism.

Provide support to service users using a variety of methods, including telephone, email, SMS, online chat, online forms, and other written reports.

ROLE PURPOSE:
The Director of Fundraising and Communications is a member of the Executive Team. This is ShelterBox's most senior management team, with overall responsibility for leading, planning and managing the work and development of ShelterBox.
You will be responsible for the delivery of our current 5 year organisational strategy 2022-27 as well as the implementation of the departmental Fundraising and Communications strategy, driving continued ambitious growth in our reach, engagement and fundraising. You will also play a leading role in driving the development of the next 5-year strategy for 2027 onwards.
You will work with the wider organisation and stakeholders to represent Fundraising and Communications and ensure the team are supported and able to thrive.
This is a role for a dynamic senior fundraising and communications specialist, who will bring significant experience within the sector. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will develop and implement a strategy that builds foundations for growth and drives a bold and confident ShelterBox of the future. You will take full accountability for the successful delivery of income forecasts and expenditure budgets. You will work with the team to deliver best in class communications across our channels, reach new audiences and grow unrestricted income through digital and offline acquisition, oversee the strategic growth of our philanthropy and partnerships programme, support our strategic partnership with Rotary, and ensure that the ShelterBox brand is optimised to ensure we stand out in a crowded market.
You will also be responsible for understanding the needs and ambitions of the ShelterBox network of affiliates (in Europe, North America and Australasia), seeking to understand the strategies and tactics that will drive global income growth. You will recommend where investments by ShelterBox Trust can support global fundraising into the future.
You will be a proven, highly effective communicator with an empowering management style and the ability to quickly build relationships. A personal desire to invest in your teams with limited resources is essential. Creativity, commitment and best practice implementation are key.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking a highly experienced fundraising and communications expert, who has a passion for storytelling and building impactful relationships. You must be able to hit the ground running, have a strong record of developing and leading successful teams by building highly effective relationships. This role is all about inspiring leadership, strategic innovation, and maximising every opportunity to grow our vital work.
Experience and understanding of the humanitarian sector is desirable, as is an understanding of current fundraising opportunities and challenges, ethical storytelling and communication trends. This includes an understanding of the competitive fundraising environment in the sector, following announcements by some government donors. The need for emergency shelter around the world is vast and growing daily. This role must understand and drive ambitious and effective ways to communicate our specialist focus on shelter and the tangibility of our offer to current and future supporters.
The role will support the Fundraising and Communications department to deliver 2025/2026 plans, as well as implement the longer-term fundraising and communications strategy, seizing all opportunities in an ever-changing landscape.
As well as leading the UK team, working with colleagues from different countries to grow international fundraising, requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to a long-term diplomatic approach.

You will be results oriented and be confident using data and insight to inform decision making and drive our fundraising to the next level. As part of the Executive Team:

The Role
We have an ambitious membership growth target of 20%. In order to achieve this we need to be setting up new groups across the UK at scale. We have recently changed our marketing approach and are able to generate high volumes of high-quality enquiries. But we have lots of areas without groups or with groups who are full and not able to accept new members. We therefore need someone to take charge of setting up new groups at scale, ensuring the process for doing so is robust and streamlined.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will manage the end-to-end new group set up process:
- Identify geographical location for new group – based on no existing groups in area, local groups being full and/or volunteer availability
- Source local volunteers and work with them to get new groups up and running
- Help them to identify suitable venue and time for first meeting and free and low cost opportunities to promote new groups in local area
- Work with Social Media Assistants to execute local level organic digital outreach via community Facebook groups and websites
- Outreach to local social prescribers to encourage them to signpost to NWR
- Source volunteers to distribute printed marketing assets within local community

The Director of Philanthropy Partnerships will be a member of the executive leadership team, and they will lead the ambitious Philanthropy team to fundraise from corporate partners, Major Donors, Trusts and Foundations. They will operationalise the three-year strategy, with realistic stretch targets and develop a prospect pipeline, mapping stakeholder and donor relationships. The role of a Project Officer
Whilst this role will predominantly be in the East of the region, you will need to be prepared to work all over the South East should the need arise. River enhancement projects will typically include weir removals, fish passage easements (such as rock ramps, nature-like bypasses or technical fish passes) and river re-naturalisation projects (such as habitat enhancements, reconnecting floodplains & palaeochannels, re-meandering, and backwater creation). Catchment management projects are likely to include wetland creation, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Natural Flood Management (NFM) measures. We would be interested to know about any experience you have in the above fields when you apply.
Using your freshwater expertise and proven ability, you will proactively lead on smaller and medium scale projects while working closely with other staff, external partners and stakeholders. Role and Responsibilities
The Donor Engagement Manager is an integral component of IFAW’s global Development team. Reporting to the Deputy Vice President, Development, the Donor Engagement Manager leads a robust donor communications, engagement, and stewardship program for high-net-worth (HNW) individuals, spearheading the development of strategy and plans, and supervising a team of contractors and freelancers for project implementation. Create dynamic donor engagement plan

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Ruils is run by, and for, disabled people. We exist to remove the barriers that prevent disabled people from living independent lives. Our vision is a society where all individuals have choice and control to live independently. We provide information, advice, advocacy, befriending and activities to our clients and their families.
We work with the Richmond General Practice Alliance (RGPA) and our local Primary Care Networks to deliver personalised care services: Social Prescribing and Proactive Anticipatory Care (PAC). This allows GPs and other health care professionals to refer patients to a Link Worker or Care Coordinator, who can work with the individual and connect them with services and activities in their community. We have a team of 15 Link Workers and Care Coordinators spread throughout the borough and in this role you will lead and manage the team.
The NHS Plan also highlighted the need to focus on the prevention of long-term conditions and reduce health inequalities faced by sections of society. You will also lead the delivery of ‘Health in Your Hands’ and a Community Health and Wellbeing Programme, which focuses on targeting localities that are facing health inequalities due to high levels of social deprivation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leading and motivating a team of professionals with differing skills and experience to deliver high quality services meeting Key Performance Indicators.
- Being a key member of the Charity’s leadership team able to consider and discuss the wider aspects of the charity outside of your own direct responsibilities.
- Working with the RGPA contract manager and the CEO to set and monitor targets for each project/service and identifying and resolving any issues that arise.
- Strong project management skills – able to set up projects, processes and communicate these clearly to the wider team.
- Creating coherent and comprehensive reports for stakeholders by analysing and collating data from different sources.
- Working on your own initiative and with minimum day to day supervision to achieve agreed goals and targets.
- Attending meetings and events, communicating effectively with a variety of individuals including health professionals and other organisations in the voluntary sector.
- Being responsible for the recruitment, selection, induction and training of new permanent or temporary staff.
