Role Summary 

Bliss is the UK’s leading national charity for babies born premature or sick, and we are looking for a Digital Programme Lead to join our skilled and creative team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to take responsibility for developing, coordinating and overseeing the delivery of Bliss’ digital activities. This role works with colleagues across the organisation to ensure Bliss’ digital activities are delivered in line with Bliss’ strategic priorities, as well as being able to innovate and make the most of potential new technological or digital opportunities. The Digital Programme Lead will provide effective line management and support to the Digital Officer to ensure Bliss’ day to day digital operations are running smoothly
 

• Location: Hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days over 2 weeks worked in our London Bridge office
• Salary: £40,000 FTE (pro rata)
• Terms: 25-28 hours a week, 12-month fixed term contract starting mid-late Sept 2025

Role Details

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to take on the overall management of digital activity at Bliss, leading the Digital Team to deliver all core activities to maintain existing channels and services as well as leading the cross-team approach to planning and delivering digital innovation and improvement.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

•Significant experience in digital project management, agile working and the delivery of a website and other digital products and services
•Proven experience of digital innovation and a creative approach to finding solutions and solving technical issues
•Significant experience and understanding of user research / testing, and of managing agencies conducting this on our behalf; as well as co-creating digital products and services with users
•Up-to-date knowledge of digital trends and ability and appetite to keep up to date with advances in these as well as experience of translating these into proven digital enhancements
•Technical knowledge and expertise:
     -Expertise in website CMS and a range of digital technologies
     -Utilising search engine optimisation to increase the targeted traffic 
     -AB testing and piloting of digital projects
     -Using CSS, HTML and PHP and excellent IT skills with the ability to use Word, Excel, and Adobe CS6, Indesign and Photoshop.

The Involvement and Engagement team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is responsible for delivering a wide portfolio of activities to increase understanding of dementia, engage and involve the public and people affected by dementia with research and promote the work of Alzheimer’s Research UK. The team work closely with people affected by dementia to gather their insights to shape our work and campaigns. 

The team is part of the Information and Involvement department. The department’s mission is to improve understanding of dementia and the diseases which cause it and encourage and support the public and people affected by dementia to get involved in research.

The manager leads on the development of a wide range of activities, such as coordinating meetings with the Lived Experience Involvement Group; the online public engagement programme; and managing the Inspire Fund community engagement grant scheme. The role has responsibility for monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the impact of the public involvement and engagement programme. In addition, the role holder will identify improvements and undertake strategy development and implementation working with the Head of the Department to deliver this.

Reporting to the Head of Information and Involvement, the Manager has two line reports, and the team works closely with colleagues across the Policy, Communications and Involvement Directorate, notably the Information Services and Policy teams. The team also has regular interactions with people affected by dementia and supports the wider charity in engaging effectively with supporters about dementia research. They work closely with colleagues in the Research and Partnerships directorate, and Volunteering and Events teams to deliver activities.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. This role will be known internally as Involvement and Engagement Manager

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Lead the Involvement and Engagement team

· Work with the Head of Information and Involvement to plan and implement involvement and engagement programmes to support the development of the charity’s goals.

· Implement the Involvement and Engagement strategy for Alzheimer’s Research UK, ensuring a varied portfolio of opportunities, with a focus on reaching diverse and underserved audiences.

· Line manage two Involvement and Engagement Officers, setting objectives, with responsibility for their personal growth and development, and that of the team.

Implement the involvement of lived experience across the organisation

· Lead the management of the charity’s Lived Experience Involvement Group, overseeing the recruitment, onboarding and ongoing engagement of volunteers with lived experience of dementia.

· Lead and manage the planning of involvement activity, including a calendar of events and activities for the lived experience group, to include regular online meetings, in person events, and opportunities to contribute to ARUKs strategic initiatives and campaigns.

· Responsible for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of involvement activities, ensuring volunteers are aware of their impact, communicating impact of involvement both internally and externally to the organisation.

· Responsible for championing the value and impact of involvement across the organisation, seeking new involvement opportunities and working towards embedding involvement in key areas of the charities work.

· Work closely with and support the Research Involvement Manager with implementing involvement of lived experience in research programmes, also with external requests for support with involvement in research.

· Ensure processes to manage a database of lived experience volunteers are robust and up to date and that policies and procedures are adhered to.

Deliver public engagement programmes and activities

· Deliver the Inspire Fund community engagement grant scheme, managing the application and awards process, monitoring ongoing grants, supporting grant holders and reporting on impact.

· Oversee the planning and coordination of the public engagement events programme, including supporting the Involvement and Engagement Officer with delivery of the online public engagement series and other events.

· Working closely with colleagues in the Research team support and facilitate dementia researchers to deliver public engagement activities, providing guidance and resources as required.

· Work with the Involvement and Engagement Officers to maintain existing engagement resources and promote their use across the charity. Develop new engagement resources that can be used across a variety of events.

· Support colleagues across ARUK to build skills and confidence talking about dementia and research, and how to engage with their audiences.

 

What we are looking for:

· Graduate or equivalent level of education in biomedical sciences, science communication or similar.

· Experience of discussing and communicating health or research matters to the public.

· Experience of working with people affected by a long-term health condition and supporting their contributions to organisational activities or research.

· Experience of leading outreach, engagement and involvement/or involving the public with research.

· Strong experience of planning, coordinating, and delivering involvement and engagement events.

· Relevant project management experience.

· Experience working in an involvement, engagement, or public facing role or similar.

· Experience of working across partnerships, building strong working relationships (internally and externally).

· Strong and effective written and spoken communication skills, ability to tailor to lay audiences.

· Good knowledge of the research process and how the public can play a part in that process.

· Knowledge and understanding of engagement and involvement methods drawn from academia, health research or the charity sector.

· Ability to identify and develop creative opportunities for public engagement and involvement and discussion emanating from scientific research.

· An eye for creativity and innovation, and ability to grow personal network of professional contacts and create new opportunities for engagement and involvement.

· Excellent organisational skills; the ability to manage a number and variety of tasks to multiple deadlines.

· Ability to communicate appropriately with people affected by dementia and their families.

· Willingness and ability to travel independently in the UK occasionally and to work outside of regular office hours when needed.

· A confident, friendly and professional attitude; would feel at ease representing the charity to a range of audiences.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Background

Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is a well-established charity dedicated to supporting refugees and asylum seekers from anywhere in the world who find themselves in the Royal Borough of Kingston and neighbouring boroughs. Since its foundation in 1991, RAK has been the main provider of direct services to refugees and asylum seekers as well as promoting refugee rights.

RAK aims to support refugees through the process from their initial reception in the borough through to final integration into the local community in order to enable them to live a fulfilling life and become accepted and active participants in our local communities.  We achieve this by accomplishing a variety of outcomes for refugee and asylum-seeking families through delivering a holistic service including advice, information, counselling, education, training, and assistance in access mainstream services and employment opportunities to help them rebuild their lives.

We are looking for a registered solicitor or someone qualified up to level 3, although we will also be happy to hear from people who are qualified up to IAA Level 2 Asylum. We are currently not in a position to support people to qualify for IAA Level 2, so please do not apply if you do not already have it. 

Purpose of the Post

Refugee Action Kingston provides free and independent information and advice on a one-to-one basis to refugees and asylum seekers on immigration (Level 3), welfare benefits, education, training, employment, housing, access to health and social care. Where we cannot help we refer clients to solicitors and other specialist help.

The purpose of this job is to provide an effective and efficient face-to-face Immigration Advice to IAA leve l2 or 3, within the aims, policies and principles of Refugee Action Kingston.  And to provide consultancy and advice to colleagues on Immigration and Asylum issues.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

Casework

• Provide face to face Immigration and Asylum advice and casework to IAA Level 2 or 3
• Act for the client where necessary by liaising with the Home Office, external agencies and other Immigration Advice providers in progression of a case.
• Negotiate and advocate on behalf of clients with third parties as appropriate, both verbally and in writing.
• Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate
• Know and understand the limits of Level 3 IAA Advice and be prepared to refer or signpost onwards when work reaches these boundaries.
• Ensure that all casework conforms to RAK Advice Service office standards and policies.
• Maintain case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring, and report preparation
• Write and maintain notes on individual client cases, manually and electronically. To ensure files and appropriate records are kept in accordance with good practice and standards.
• Follow all policies and procedures relating to the advice service and work within the limitations expected of the service

Professional Development

• Attend internal and external training courses as appropriate. Staff are expected to keep themselves informed on current issues relating to their work.

Job Title: Executive Administrator 

Location: Central Office which is based around a 10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington Station. Hybrid working available, approximately 2 - 3 days per week in the office including every Tuesday. Additional office, service, and away days would be required for attendance.

About the role

We're looking for an Executive Administrator to join our central office team, reporting to the Director of Finance and Resource. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-level administrative and governance support to various leaders within the organisation, including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), The Board, and CEO. 

In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation of coordinating meetings, managing governance processes, and supporting strategic initiatives. You will further line manage a small team of 2 Administrative Support Officers who support with the day to day administration and management of our central office.

You will be able to organise and manage events and away days, as well as manage our booking systems and general running. We are currently recruiting a trauma-informed, person-centred Counsellor to deliver essential and life-saving counselling for survivors of rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse. The Counsellor will be employed by TRC Sexual Abuse & Rape Support Greater Manchester, working 24 hours a week over 3 days, and will be based at our office space in Trafford. The Counsellor will have a counselling caseload as well as completing additional tasks such as conducting initial assessments, triaging clients, and establishing next steps for each client in line with TRC's safeguarding policies.

Bereavement Support Services Lead (Digital). This is a rewarding and key role in the Bereavement Support Services team. The team provides a wide range of services, including the Helpline, Online Community, memory making, and print materials. The aim of this post is to provide operational and line management so that the BSS team can provide consistent, high-quality emotional support to bereaved families who seek support from Sands, as well as supervising the work of the Bereavement Support Officers on the frontline. As our digital support continues to grow and develop, we are looking for someone to support and inspire the team in this expanding area, working closely with Sands’ Bereavement Support Digital Coordinator. The Bereavement Support Services Team offers 1-2-1 support via telephone, email and other digital channels, and is usually open from 10-3 from Monday to Friday and 6-9pm from Tuesday to Thursday with occasional extended opening hours. Support is also available through digital channels; our Online Community, direct messenger on Instagram and Facebook and various closed groups on Facebook which need to be regularly monitored and moderated to provide a safe, user-led space accessible to all. In future a wider range of channels may be used. There are three Bereavement Support Leads (BSLs) including this post holder, and between them they are expected to cover all regular opening hours on a rota basis. Each shift will start 30 minutes before the helpline opens and end 30 minutes after the helpline closes, and BSLs will divide up the week in order to be present during shifts and ensure at least one BSL or the Head of BSS is available to the team 9am-4pm Monday to Friday and 5.30pm-9.30pm Tuesday to Thursday for safeguarding and general support. The role will be split between operational management of the BSS team, line management of BSSOs, supporting and contributing to other strands of bereavement support work, as well as some direct work on all of the support channels.

Richmond Carers Centre has the mission to help unpaid adult carers to live a full, active and meaningful life by providing them with advice, information, activities, breaks and emotional support either face to face, by phone or by email to enable them to live well.

As an Adult Carers Support Worker, you will be part of a small, dedicated team and take a lead on providing emotional support to adult carers and a commitment to enhancing their health and wellbeing. Much of your work will involve actively listening to carers, often via the phone support line, providing information, advice and support. As part of the Adult Carers Support Team, you will also be involved in organising breaks for carers, outreach activities and leisure events, as well as group work to help enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. Part of the role will also aim to improve the identification, recognition and understanding of the needs of adult carers, raise the profile of adult carers and ensure adult carers needs are met. You’ll also be expected to work with our volunteers and to use appropriate monitoring and evaluation reports to show our funders what we’ve achieved.

• To work where appropriate with other service providers/agencies to promote the carer agenda or jointly deliver carer support issues
• To be proactive in the registration of carers living or caring for someone within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames
• To keep accurate records of group and individual carer engagement for monitoring and evaluation purposes
• To participate in key events organised by Richmond Carers Centre and other relevant partners to promote services to a wider public
