The Salvation Army – Assistant Head of Individual Giving - Supporter Acquisition and Innovation Unit

Location: Hybrid working, 2 days in office, London SE5.

Salary: £59,744 per annum.

The Salvation Army, the UK’s leading social welfare charity, is seeking a direct marketing expert to lead its newly formed Supporter Acquisition and Innovation Unit and provide strategic leadership, direction, and management of the annual acquisition programme.

The Assistant Head of Individual Giving is a key, senior role in the Individual Giving Section, overseeing the development and delivery of multi-channel direct marketing activities that inspire and motivate many thousands of new contactable supporters to join the charity’s donor base each year. The post also leads the development and implementation of new acquisition products from concept to launch and meeting an initial annual fundraising target of approximately £500,000. The role leads a unit of three people including one direct line report.

The successful candidate will have extensive expertise in all aspects of direct marketing, specifically acquisition, including detailed knowledge and experience of how best to maximise both offline and online channels, as well as successfully  implementing new and innovative products or offers. Experience in successful strategic planning, management and implementation of strategy will be critical as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Candidates must be highly organised project managers with excellent leadership and people management skills and the ability to think analytically and critically. They will also possess skills in creative development and, finally, have the ability and willingness to work within, and be empathic with, the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army Mission.

Retina UK is a national charity based in Buckingham that funds cutting edge research into inherited sight loss conditions and offers dedicated support and information to the thousands of people living with these conditions.

We are looking for the right person to support, develop and coordinate a variety of areas of activity within the Income Generation team.

Key responsibilities:

* Assist with the administration and stewardship of supporters across the various income areas and maintain and improve supporter retention and engagement. Areas to support with will include: Community Fundraising, Trading, Challenge Events, Lottery, Legacies and Major Donors.

* Provide an exemplary stewardship programme for existing supporters whilst also developing new ideas to engage new supporters.

* Utilise the charity database, carry out regular analysis, generate reports as requested, ensure records and folders are accurate and up to date and provide regular feedback to the Head of Income Generation.

* Conduct regular supporter research, as requested, to ensure Retina UK remains innovative with its fundraising activities. 

* Support with updating the database and printing letters for the Trusts, Foundations and Corporates proposals, reports and thank you letters.

* Ensure that our webpages are regularly updated with new events, ways of getting involved, photographs, case studies and impact quotes.

* Liaise with venues, supporters, exhibitors and attendees ahead of fundraising events and activities, including our Conferences, Sight Village and key challenge events, including London Marathon.

* Thank supporters in the appropriate manner and update and refresh supporter letter templates quarterly to effectively communicate the value of donor contributions. Mix up our thanking methods – calls, letters, emails – as appropriate.

* Take a proactive approach in guiding supporters and potential fundraisers on how they can be involved with Retina UK.  Offer clear advice on fundraising opportunities and ensure incoming enquiries are directed to relevant activities that align with their interests and needs, by staying up to date on our products and ways they get can involved.

* Work collaboratively to maintain an efficient and practical administrative process and arrange, attend and take minutes at Income Generation team meetings as and when required.

* Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Income Generation, Senior Management Team and Chief Executive.

The Head of Finance will primarily have responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities. You will have direct responsibility for the finance function. 

The role will also be responsible for partner relationships with external accountants and auditors.

The successful candidate will be joining Eikon at an exciting time as the organisation builds innovative ways to deliver services to young people, including strengthening the evidence to influence increased strategic investment in preventative and early support for children, young people and the adults around them. You will ensure systems, internal controls and financial management are in place to meet Eikon’s financial, contractual, statutory and legal responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Day to day financial management of the organisation, including:

· Ensuring the delivery of monthly management accounts

· Building and maintaining the systems for setting and managing annual financial organisational plans, budgets and quarterly forecasts

· Proactively manage the income and expenditure of the charity advising the management team on income shortfalls and overspends on expenditure relating to unrestricted and restricted funding

· Oversee and manage the charity’s finance operations including expenses, invoicing, payments and cash management

· Developing greater financial literacy across the organisation by building and maintaining accessible and clear systems and processes, and providing advice to budget holders

· Reporting to the Eikon Leadership and Management Teams, Audit and Finance Committee and the Board of Trustees

· Support and review of funding applications, commercial arrangements and contractual performance

Leadership Across The Charity

· Contribute to Eikon’s overall vision and strategy through membership of the Senior Leadership Team

· Contribute to monitoring the performance of the charity against its key objectives and to any corrective action that is needed

· Working with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, the Finance Trustee, develop and implement the financial strategies that enable the successful delivery of the organisational vision and strategy

· Provide insightful financial analysis to inform key decision-making on growth opportunities, ensuring a balance between risk management and sustainable organisational expansion

· Develop appropriate process and systems improvements across the organisation that enable performance enhancements of the finance function

Maintain effective internal accounts and leading on statutory reporting and annual audit, including:

· Ensuring financial procedures and delegated authorities are fit for purpose, adhered to and up to date

· Ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulatory guidance for financial and tax reporting

· Ensure compliance of all statutory requirements and accounting in accordance with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) and the Companies Act

· Lead on the preparation of the Annual Statutory Financial Statements, liaise with auditors and ensure accounts are filed on time with the Charity Commission and Companies House

Job Description

Catch22 is looking for a compassionate leader to join our growing Greater Manchester Victim Services as Deputy Head of Service. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring the effective delivery of support for victims and witnesses as you help them on their journey to recovery.

Reporting to the Head of Service, you’ll provide line management to team leaders and administrators, implement systems for quality service delivery, and manage recruitment, training and supervision. You’ll work closely with police and other criminal justice partners to maintain strong referral pathways and ensure our services remain seamless and effective in its support for those that have experienced crime in the Greater Manchester area.

You will also contribute to strategic service development, quality assurance, safeguarding, and continuous improvement across the team. Your leadership will drive a culture of collaboration, learning and excellence.

Qualifications

The ideal post-holder will have:

A strong educational background, including English and Maths at GCSE level.

Proven experience managing and supporting teams in high-impact environments.

A track record of working with vulnerable individuals in multi-agency settings.

Confidence in performance management, risk assessment, and safeguarding practices.

Excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills.

A recognised management qualification or willingness to work towards one.

Knowledge of the victim and witness support system and a good understanding of the criminal justice landscape are highly desirable.

About the role 

Mission Without Borders is seeking an experienced Salesforce Support Specialist to focus on three key areas; Salesforce Administration, training, and process documentation. 

As a Salesforce expert and product champion, the post holder will work closely with our existing Salesforce Support Specialist to be the first point of contact for Salesforce support and training across all staff in all 18 countries. They will triage incoming tickets, provide support, fix problems, make configuration changes, and work closely with our Salesforce Developer and Product Owner to manage change requests. 

With significant stakeholder engagement, they will help to develop a staff training programme for all countries and deliver both routine and ad-hoc training for new employees, new processes, feature changes, and upgrades. 

Process documentation will need to be created for new, modified, and existing Salesforce/business processes along with details of third-party integrations and submitted change requests. 

The role sits within the International Salesforce team, led by the Salesforce Developer and Product Owner. The team’s purpose is to be guardians of the organisations data and processes, supporting the rollout, maintenance, and extension, of our Salesforce platform and services. The Salesforce Developer and Product Owner reports to the International Chief Information Officer (CIO), who is responsible for leading MWB’s digital transformation and ensuring the successful implementation of several new digital, IT, and Salesforce initiatives.

We are looking for an experienced campaigner with hands-on knowledge of digital campaigning and digital mobilisation techniques, to join our high performing Campaigns and Public Affairs team.

You'll have previously played a key role in successful campaigning activities which have brought about a change in policy and practice, and will be comfortable with fast-paced work.

You'll have a proactive, and collaborative approach which will make sure our campaigning is joined up between the national and regional levels, and that our engagement activities are embedded across the organisation.

In this busy role, you'll co-ordinate our national campaigns activity, helping to lead RNIB's national campaigns activity and strategy, working closely with our Senior Campaigns Manager.

You'll be managing a Campaigns Officer and a Campaigns assistant, providing coaching and support to make our national campaigning as effective as possible.

You'll provide strong project management for our influencing campaigns, whether campaigning to protect disability benefits, or to make streets and transport more accessible for blind and partially sighted people, for example.

You will bring our campaigns to life in a way that embeds lived experience and tells the story effectively for sighted people, driving them to take action. You will own content for our 'campaigner' audience, making sure our communications are effective, whether someone is new to RNIB's campaigns or is already a committed campaigner ready to go the extra mile.

This role will ensure that lived experiences are integrated into our storytelling, and will seek creative ways to motivate decision-makers or the public to take action.

Day to day, you'll collaborate with other teams across Policy, Campaigns, and Social Action to maximise opportunities for driving change, and will make sure national campaigning is aligned with our local campaigning, working with our two Local Campaigns Leads.

You'll also join forces with colleagues in RNIB's Engagement directorate to get campaigning fully embedded in our engagement and volunteering supporter journeys.

You'll have experience of project managing campaign activities, with a strong attention to detail, and an instinct for crafting compelling calls to action. You'll bring expertise in digital campaigns, with an understanding of best practice in digital and social content, as well as how to monitor the effectiveness of our communications.

You'll have a good understanding of disability issues and the social model of disability, and awareness of issues affecting blind and partially sighted people.

You'll be comfortable with collaborating with colleagues within and outside your immediate team, leading on the implementation of projects and coordinating day to day tasks.

You'll have effective verbal and written communication skills, and knowledge of how to adapt your communications style to suit the audience.

This might be your first step into line management or you may bring some experience of managing colleagues or volunteers.

About the role

Join Dementia UK as Head of Governance, Compliance and Risk, where you will help the charity and its workforce comply with all necessary regulations and manage risks to the organisation, its employees, clients, reputation, assets and the interests of stakeholders.

As part of the governance team, you will work with senior managers across the organisation as a trusted advisor, providing day-to-day coordination and oversight of all governance bodies, meetings and working groups. You will also support the efficient flow of information to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services, enabling them to update the Trustee Board effectively.

You will play a major role in making sure that the policies set by the charity are strictly followed by the entire workforce. This diverse workforce includes volunteers, employees, sessional workers and consultants. You will be responsible for maintaining messaging and behaviour that reflect the necessary rules and regulations, providing assurance that the charity complies with both external requirements and internal policies.

Additionally, you will oversee the operational requirements relating to insurance and develop effective plans to manage crises (including business continuity plans) or respond to compliance breaches.

The ideal candidate will hold a university degree in a business-related discipline, complemented by a relevant postgraduate qualification and professional certification (such as IRM Qualification, IA Cert, CIA, or Chartered Internal Auditor). You will demonstrate a thorough understanding of risk and regulatory frameworks, supported by extensive senior leadership experience in compliance and risk management within a public sector or not-for-profit environment. You will also have a strong track record of supporting internal audits from initiation through to the completion of action points, alongside a proven ability to engage and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders both within and external to the organisation.
