ZAKKI is a social startup focusing on creating an inclusive community for the elderly and people with disabilities. Our mission is to facilitate alms and donations collection and distribution to help the elderly and people with disabilities who work in the informal sector to get better livelihood through micro-business management, giving them greater market exposure.

Currently, we are still redesigning ZAKKI fully function product. We are expecting to develop the ZAKKI fully function product in the upcoming years.

ZAKKI is a non-profit foundation, and all ZAKKI teams and volunteers do not receive a salary. Victory Afghanistan is a Chicago-registered, women-led 501(c)(3) educational charity supporting over 800 Afghan girls and women through free online English and mentoring programmes. Our students, aged 11 to 40, have been barred from formal education since 2021 under the current political regime. Despite this, they continue to study online each week with courage, determination, and hope for the future.

We are now recruiting Conversational English Partners for our sixth semester beginning in January 2026.

Role Description

Conversational Partners meet with small groups of Afghan girls who are already fluent or near-fluent in English and simply wish to practise speaking and listening in a friendly, supportive environment.

• Each session lasts one hour, twice a week, for 16 weeks.
• There is no set curriculum, but we can help you plan interesting discussion topics or theme-based sessions if you prefer structure.
• Students may also suggest their own weekly topics.
• The focus is on confidence, connection, and conversation.

Who We’re Looking For

Ideal volunteers will have:

• Clear spoken English and strong communication skills
• Empathy, patience, and sensitivity to cultural differences
• A genuine interest in helping others learn and grow
• Reliability and commitment to attend sessions consistently

You do not need teaching experience,  just an open mind and a willingness to engage in meaningful conversation with remarkable young women.

Mentees: You will be paired with a small group of mentees (typically 6–9), aged 18–26, all fluent in English.

Scheduling: Mentors arrange sessions directly with mentees at mutually convenient times.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome professionals from a wide range of industries. Our current mentors come from backgrounds including law, mental health, business, civil engineering, and architecture. Each mentor is carefully matched with students pursuing similar career paths to ensure meaningful and relevant engagement.

You do not need formal mentoring experience. We are seeking dedicated, emotionally intelligent, and inspirational professionals from around the world who bring real-world experience, strong communication skills, and empathy, and who are passionate about helping others grow.

This is not a traditional mentorship programme — it is a structured pathway designed to help young Afghan women develop the academic and professional skills needed to move forward despite the severe restrictions placed on them inside Afghanistan.

Applicants should hold either a master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of professional experience. They should demonstrate emotional intelligence, clarity in communication, and the ability to guide, inspire, and challenge thoughtfully. A reliable internet connection is also essential.

Our students have completed six levels of English and are now enrolled in one of four mentorship semesters. Each mentee follows her own unique path, whether:

• Pursuing an online university degree,

• Applying for scholarships abroad (Europe or the US), or

• Seeking remote work or internships (particularly for qualified professionals currently unable to work inside Afghanistan).

This is an opportunity to make a tangible, life-changing impact. The women in our programme are courageous, determined, and eager to learn, yet they lack access to role models and practical guidance from professionals in their fields.

As a mentor, you will help them take the next step, n whether that means applying for scholarships, building a career portfolio, or gaining the confidence and professional skills to work remotely.

Our long-term goal is to move towards a 1:1 mentor-to-student ratio, ensuring that each young woman receives the personalised support she deserves.

Are you passionate about the world of gaming? STAMMA’s Minecraft club is a project which aims to bring young people aged 7-14 who stammer together through the exciting world of Minecraft! Our club plays in a private virtual realm where we can build exciting creations and collaborate on imaginative group projects. And you can be part of it too!

We know that the world can feel like a lonely place for young people who stammer. We want to help people connect and show them how great being part of the stammering community can be.

We’re looking for people to join us to be Minecraft session leaders. We’ll support you to lead short 1-hour ‘play together’ sessions in our virtual world 2x a month on a Tuesday or Thursday evening 6-7pm.

Please note that this volunteer role is only open to people who are resident in the UK.

Basic information

Hours: 3 hours a month plus one quarterly catch-up session on Zoom (amounts to 2 sessions a month of 1.5 hours)

What does the role involve?

As a Minecraft Session leader, we’re hoping you’ll feel comfortable to:

•  Run a ‘play together’ session for young people who stammer either on your own or with another session leader. Sessions are usually run by two volunteers working in partnership.
• Help to keep our Minecraft realm a friendly space for everyone.
•  Support new players, such as showing them around the world, introducing them to other players and answering any questions they have.
• Helping families to set up Minecraft on their device and access the session for the first time.

What support would you get?

We'll help you through a training programme, which will include online training modules and some shadowing. This training is likely to take around 5-6 hours in total and can be completed in bite-sized amounts to suit your schedule. We will also provide ongoing support through our quarterly catch up sessions for Minecraft session volunteers to share experiences and explore any concerns or challenges.

What would you need?

• A quiet place where you can work in privacy and not be overheard during calls
• A console/computer with Minecraft installed
• A second device where you can take part in a Zoom call
• Stable internet connection which supports gaming

As a volunteer you can, of course, step back from the role at any time. However, both you and the Minecraft club are likely to get most out of the opportunity if you’re able to volunteer with us for at least 12 months. By gradually learning and developing your confidence in the role, you can have the biggest impact.

This is a volunteer role and is unpaid. As this is a role where you will be working with children and young people, we will need you to complete a DBS check with us before you can lead any sessions on your own.

Background.

Saddleworth Village Games is a registered Charity in England and Wales since 2016, but the foundation has been running since 1985 and celebrated its 40th year in 2025. The organisation offers sports for children aged seven to 14 in the Saddleworth area that range from athletics, swimming, dodgeball, and netball, including many, many more. Everyone involved in the games is a volunteer and the organisation relies on donations from the competing children’s parents and local business who sponsor the games.

Local businesses sponsoring the games has been in place for the last few years and without their support putting the games on each year wouldn’t be possible without them. The committee are now looking for a strategic partnership officer to work with our sponsors and support them whilst looking to attract new sponsors too.

Sponsors have two options when working with us and these are outlined below.

1. A £1,200 payment per year which is £100 per month where they receive their logo on every page of our website, a full-page advert in our yearly brochure, their logo on each village banner that is displayed at events, the opportunity to have a stall at our opening ceremony and to present a trophy at one of the villages presentation evenings.
2. A £240 a year deal which is £20 a month where they receive half a page advert in our brochure and their logo on one page of our website.

Roles and responsibilities.

• Work with existing sponsors to ensure they want to continue their partnership with us.
• Resolve any issues sponsors may face including making their payments to us or general queries.
•  Identifying new sponsors from the local and wider arear, informing them of their options to sponsor us as outlined above and getting them on board.
• Leasing with our chairman to keep him informed of sponsors, our treasurer to keep them informed of the payment, with our brochure producer to ensure their advert is the correct size and ready for print, plus our website-maintenance team to ensure their logos are online.
• Ensuring payments are received on a monthly basis to ensure the sponsors are making their financial contribution to us and chasing any missed payments where this may occur.
• Inviting our premium sponsors who pay £1,200 a year to our opening ceremony and leasing with the chairman in relation to their stalls they may wish to have at this event. Inviting them to present a trophy at a village presentation night.

Are you a dog lover with room in your home to look after a dog during evenings and weekends? This could be the perfect role for you!

As a Training Dog Fosterer, you’ll provide a loving temporary home to a dog in training, typically for a period of 12 to 20 weeks, as they begin their journey to become a guide dog. You’ll get to see the progress your furry companion is making in their training and be a vital part of their journey, without the commitment of looking after a dog full time.

What you’ll be doing:

In this rewarding role, your support for a guide dog in training will include:

• Doing the school run for your dog in training! This will typically involve dropping them off and picking them up at an agreed time Monday to Friday at one of our regional centres or community teams, however, some sites may vary. There are some locations where we will be able to collect and return the training dog from your home. 
• Caring for your dog in your home such as feeding, grooming, free running and playing, following the advice of our expert staff.
• Helping your dog keep up with their training by reinforcing the techniques at home from our first-class training programme.
• Making sure your dog is not left alone for more than four hours in a 24-hour period. If you’re planning on going on holiday, let us know at your initial phone call so we can plan alternative cover for your future life changer.

Can I foster a dog?

If you’re hoping to foster a guide dog in training, here’s what we ideally look for:

• Being close to one of our regional centres or community teams so that your dog can get to their training. 
• The agreement of your landlord to have a dog in your home if you rent your home.
• A safe and secure area outside for the dog to go to the toilet.

However, we try to be flexible – for example, you’ll still be able to foster a dog if you live in London, even if you don’t have access to outside space.

Volunteering for Guide Dogs should never leave you out of pocket. We’ll make sure we pay any pre-agreed expenses related to volunteering with us, including veterinary costs, dog food costs and other materials needed for your dog’s training.

Minimum age for volunteer is 18.

We also have a respite fosterer role available in some areas, where a dog would stay with you full time before moving on to the next stage of its journey.

We are looking for new volunteers from all over the North West area to be Speak out. Stay Safe Volunteers. You would visit primary schools local to you to help us protect a generation of children from abuse and neglect.

We are currently not recruiting for the following areas: Manchester, Salford, Trafford, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Oldham, Bury, Stockport and Tameside, Isle of Man and Rochdale

In 2022 the NSPCC's Speak out. Stay safe volunteers returned to primary schools. As a Speak out. Stay safe. volunteer, you will visit primary schools to deliver Speak out. Stay safe. workshops that teach children about the different types of abuse and how they can speak out and stay safe. Our Speak out. Stay safe. workshops are age-appropriate and memorable and need an energetic and enthusiastic person to deliver them. You'll work alongside other Speak out. Stay safe. volunteers to make sure at the end of each session the children feel empowered and know who they can speak out to if they are worried.

Our meetings are designed to help you decide whether you want to apply – there's no obligation or expectation that you'll apply if you attend one. At the meeting, you'll also receive information on other ways you can become a supporter of the NSPCC.
