The Youth and Community Programmes team are looking for a Community Programmes Lead worker to support a broad range of activities aimed mainly at young people and over 50’s. Activities are delivered mainly over evenings and weekends aimed at making our community an inspirational place.

We are looking for an Events Coordinator with in our Platform Services team. You will need demonstrable experience in planning and delivering a range of successful events, including both digital and in-person events, as well as experience of managing project budgets and strong project management skills. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, organisation and delivery of Picker's programme of events. This will include two in-person conferences with attendees from across the United Kingdom as well as regular online events during the year. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective planning and delivery. You will also be responsible for the planning of Picker's presence at sponsored events and exhibitions, working with colleagues from across the organisation to ensure that the Group are appropriately represented and present a credible and compelling offer.
This is a new role in the organisation, intended to support colleagues and to take a lead in our growing programme of events. There is established practice to build on from existing national conferences as well as opportunities to develop new types of engagements.
In this role
In this role you will:
- Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to plan a programme of events for the year, ensuring that these align to the Group’s charitable and commercial objectives.
- Work with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop detailed plans for each event, including working with subject matter experts to design appropriate agendas.

About the Foundation:
The Avicenna Foundation was set up in 2023 to to support outstanding young British Muslims by providing them with scholarships for their undergraduate degree. The scholarships are mainly focused on awarding scholarships in the Social Sciences and Humanities for those interested in politics, policy-making and becoming agents of positive change.
Alongside the scholarship, the Avicenna Foundation runs a development programme for the scholars to expand their skills and abilities in various areas like leadership, communication and collaboration.
The Foundation has developed immensely in the first year with the launch of the charity; onboarding of it’s first cohort of 30 scholars and the development of a leadership programme. It now needs propelling into the next stage as the charity develops to ensure a robust charity structure and programme in place.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the charity, and manage changes required within programmes and activities as a result of changing external landscapes or contexts.
- Implement strategies for advertising the scholarships, receiving and reviewing applications, shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, and making final selection decisions. Some of these things are already in place and may need reviewing and enhancing.
- Work with the Scholar Development Coordinator to oversee the leadership development programme, provide guidance and help the programme to grow.
- Maintain regular communication with the scholars, their progress, and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Ensure programme objectives and outcomes align with the overall strategy and aims of the Foundation, and are realistic and achievable within timeframes and budgets.
- Organise any events, programmes necessary to the scholars.
- Use data to track progress and drive improvement; proactively manage risks; and ensure effective use of the Foundation’s resources and budgets allocated to you.
Governance:
- Provide leadership and guidance to achieve consistency of governance across all of the Foundation’s activities, from development, delivery, measurement and evaluation and reporting perspectives.
- Regular communication and updates to the board, prepare board papers and contribute to Trustee meetings as required.

Who will I work with?
- You will be line managed by the Implementation Manager and work with them on projects across the Department.
- You will support the Strategic Lead for Retention and Professional Community and Strategic Lead for Pedagogy and Professional Practice in the delivery of their projects.
- In the delivery of external events you will support and work with our Professional Support Coaches who are based across England and Wales

About the opportunity
Critical to our mission, we are now looking to recruit a Programme Coordinator to oversee a caseload of partner schools in London. You will work closely with the schools and pupils and manage the pool of volunteer tutors by regularly attending weekly tutoring sessions, as well as overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring, always working to deliver a great impact.

Duties and responsibilities
· Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. This includes working closely to manage all key stakeholders: schools, pupils and volunteer tutors; regularly attending weekly face to face and online tutoring sessions; leading on reviewing and improving programme delivery, using data to reliably assess programme performance.
· Support the Action Tutoring Marketing Team with focused recruitment of volunteer tutors.
· Manage the tutor sign-up process to assign tutors to upcoming tutoring programmes, working with an Engagement Coordinator on local volunteer recruitment.

Qualifications criteria:
· A*-C in maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent experience ).

Position: S11157 Stroke Association Support Coordinator – Communication Support
Location: Home-based, Suffolk however, frequent travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)
Hours: Full-time 35 hour per week (flexible working available)
Salary: Circa £25,500 per annum
Contract: Our services are project-funded, we currently have funding for this service until 31 March 2025.

The Role
The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers whose lives are affected by aphasia, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes. A key part of the role will be to support service users and the delivery of the service.
Reporting to the Stroke Association Service Delivery Coach, the Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:
· Support stroke survivors and their carers to develop appropriate communication strategies and practices, Build confidence in the use of these communication strategies in order to live life with maximum independence
· Run an effective service for stroke survivors and carers, including face to face, digital and online resources, ensuring that confidential and accurate records are kept on our CRM data base
· Provide personalised information, advice and supportEnable stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes
· Work with other health and social care professionals across the stroke pathway to ensure high quality support
About You
Knowledge, skills and experience you will ideally have:
· Background in a caring profession, ideally supporting people with disabilities
· Excellent IT skills and an ability to maintain accurate records
· An affinity with the values of the Stroke Association
· A flexible approach and an ability to effectively manage a caseload
This role requires frequent travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

Working closely with the Communications Manager, the successful candidate will lead on our online presence to engage new and existing audiences through advertising and social media, ensuring a strong pipeline of applicants for our programmes. You’ll manage relationships with youth recruitment platforms (i.e. Not Going To Uni and Rate My Apprenticeship) and you’ll be responsible for collecting and analysing the relevant data.
You will also establish and manage our Youth Board and so experience of direct youth work would be an advantage, but an enthusiastic, creative approach to the task of creating the LTSB community is essential!
