Co-production and Engagement Lead

The Co-production and Engagement Lead will be leading and delivering a 3-year National Lottery funded project through co-production with a range of stakeholders and be responsible for creating local networks and sharing best practice

Position: Co-production & Engagement Lead

Location: Kent (hybrid or remote working considered)

The Role

The foundation is a registered charity which exists to improve the quality of life of people (children, young people and adults) with severe learning disabilities whose behaviour challenges and the families who support them.

We are currently looking for a Co-production & Engagement Lead to deliver a 3-year project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.  Working closely with a small friendly staff team, and 3 regional family carers (specifically employed for this project), you will be responsible for developing 3 regional networks across England, sharing best practice locally and nationally, linking with the Challenging Behaviour – National Strategy Group, and ensuring co-production and family carer engagement is promoted and embedded as best practice.

About You

You will have up to date and relevant knowledge and/or experience of children’s and/or adult policy and practices (learning disabilities) across health, education and social care and be fully committed to working in co-production and supporting family carers to fully engage as partners in the process to achieve the best outcomes.

A proven project manager, who thinks strategically and has the ability to work with a range of stakeholders across multiple sites, You will need to be highly organised, skilled at project management, knowledgeable about current policy and practices, and a confident communicator adept at influencing a wide range of stakeholders.

The Challenging Behaviour Foundation was set up in 1997 by Vivien Cooper OBE, the parent of a child with severe learning disabilities who displayed a range of challenging behaviours. At the time, there was no support for families like Viv’s and no adequate provision to support her son – other than almost three hundred miles away!

Furthering Talent helps musicians from the earliest stage in their musical journey. The programme is specifically designed to help young people from low income families sustain their musical learning after initial state-funded whole-class lessons end, so they can keep on progressing and playing music well into their teens and beyond. The programme aims to effect significant change in how the musical potential of young people from low-income families is identified and supported.

The role

You will be the first point of contact and support for the team of Connectors in your Hubs, attending Teachers’ Forums and Get Togethers where possible and helping with the coordination of data gathering and management. You will help drive the promotion of the Connector role and handle any incoming Connector enquiries via the Young Sounds website, allocating them to the appropriate Connector. You will oversee the mentoring and youth voice offer in each Hub. You will be a champion for Young Sounds’ musically inclusive approach throughout the sector and will support the promotion of Young Sounds’ CPD and learning resources, especially the Charanga hosted Individual Learning Plan.

This is a critical senior role in the organisation, reporting to the CEO. The role is responsible for managing the organisation’s programmes across 3 locations in Sub Saharan Africa and South East Asia, managing 10 personnel. The position provides leadership on community-led investigations and evidence gathering and works closely with the Senior Management Team (SMT) on critical areas including fundraising and strategic development.   

The priority for this role is the safe and high quality performance of projects. The balance between ‘doing’ and ‘managing’ in this role varies depending on available resources for each project, and the ability to create competent teams to delegate to.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• The development and implementation of strategy and annual plans for the organisation’s direct programming, and its alignment with organisational strategy.

Project Coordinator - Species Survival Fund: 'Bogs and Bitterns'

“Bogs and Bitterns": Somerset Wetland Restoration is one of twenty schemes being funded by the Government's Species Survival Fund.

As Species Survival Project Fund Coordinator, you will provide project management and co-ordination of the Species Survival Fund project and work on the development of specific species and habitat works at the Brides Mound and St Brigid’s Chapel site in Glastonbury.

We are looking for an individual with both hands on experience of delivering nature conservation work and project management expertise.

This project is funded by the Government's Species Survival Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency. “Bogs and Bitterns: Somerset Wetland restoration is one of twenty schemes being funded across the country. Within our project area we aim to deliver 50 hectares of wetland habitat restoring and expanding to improve and create quality ‘stepping stone’ sites of high quality biodiversity and to enable species abundance across the wider county. We are looking for an individual with both hands on experience of delivering nature conservation work and project management expertise.

As Species Survival Project Fund Coordinator, you will have two main areas of work. The main part of the role is to provide project management and co-ordination of the Species Survival Fund project, ensuring we are on track, including meeting budget requirements, collating information and reporting as required, and providing line manager support to the project Ecologist. The second part of the role is to also to work on the development of specific species and habitat works at the Brides Mound and St Brigid’s Chapel site in Glastonbury; here SWT is working in close co-operation with the Friends of Brides Mound and Southwest Heritage Trust and is funded by the Glastonbury Town Deal Fund.

Responsibility 1: Manage the Project

• Share knowledge and expertise by:
• Providing project management and coordination and building relationship with key stakeholders.
• Ensuring concise information gathering and reporting for the Species Survival Fund project.
• Providing and sharing expertise on species survival, whilst coordinating evidence and monitoring of the project.

• Managing the workload, performance, and personal development of the Species Survival Fund Project Ecologist.
• Having budgetary responsibility for the project and expenditure.
• Keeping abreast of national and international species recovery programmes and relate these to Somerset.

Responsibility 3: Work with Partners and Volunteers

Provide leadership and training opportunities as an influencer for the Trust by:

• Contributing to discussions, workstreams and providing support to the developing St Brigid’s Chapel and Brides Mound Project.
• Leading on working with other partners to design and implement habitat works across this landholding.
• Enabling the development of volunteering and training opportunities with the Friends of Brides Mound so they are resilient as a community to continue managing this land as part of the nature recovery network at the end of current funded works.
• Working in close collaboration with the communications and fundraising teams to promote the project including the production of articles, blogs and social media posts.

Our partner is a nonprofit organization providing accessible & effective mental health interventions for youths. They are seeking a part-time CFO to add expertise and oversight of their finance function to ensure financial sustainability. This role is a really interesting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to shape the finance function of a young, but growing organisation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies, and lead the development of financial projections and scenario planning to inform decision making.
• Lead the finance function, overseeing the day-to-day operations (cash, accounts payable, accounts receivables and payroll) and ensure compliance with accounting and financial reporting standards, as well as legal and regulatory requirements for Kenya and the USA

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with at least 5 years of relevant experience, and willing to be hands on.

• Experience of working in a start-up or of establishing a finance function is strongly desirable.
• Experience of leading a finance function, including providing financial analysis & insight  and strategic advice to aid decision making.

This is a remote role, although they would be open to someone working from their office.

The role

They have experience dealing with administrative processes and office administration, especially in a non-profit, remote organisation. They will have skills to give, receive and work with feedback constructively. They must be meticulous with exceptionally strong follow-up and follow-through skills and have the ability to work under high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines. They should have excellent interpersonal understanding, relationship building, and interpersonal skills to build strong alliances with diverse constituencies with experience working with diverse communities from multiple identities across the globe, in a virtual environment.

The service aims to identify and address the needs of stroke survivors and carers across the stroke pathway, by providing a range of innovative support solutions, supporting them to meet their desired outcomes.

The Stroke Association Support Coordinator will:

· Support new stroke survivors and their carers from hospital discharge into the community.

· Provide personalised information, advice and support.

· Support stroke survivors to make informed lifestyle changes which will help them to prevent further strokes.

· Work collaboratively with Wirral NHS colleagues and other areas of the community to make a difference to the lives of people affected by stroke.

About You

The post holder will have experience/background in:

· A caring profession ideally with experience of supporting people with disabilities.

· Setting up and running Communication Support groups.

This role requires the post holder to travel throughout Wirral to visit people at home and in community settings. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role.

Seeking an experienced Finance Executive for Andrews Charitable Trust (ACT), working within the friendly finance team of Andrews Property Group.   ACT works to strengthen charitable organisations that support people, homes and community.  Uniquely, it owns the Andrews group of property services businesses and earns most of its income through the annual profits of the business.

 The Role

As the Finance Executive, you will play a vital role in ensuring that accurate financial records and compliance for the charity are maintained, reporting to the Andrews Finance Director.

You will be responsible for managing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and providing support in financial reporting for the ACT Charity Director and her board of trustees. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to our social mission and to work with organisations supporting people affected by housing-related poverty.

Person Specification & qualifications required:

• Proven Charity Accounting/Finance Experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software (we use XLedger) and Microsoft Excel.

About the Role

The Head of Development will work closely with the CEO, Head of Programmes & Funding and Head of Operations & Finance, as part of the SLT, setting the strategy and taking responsibility for income generation across Frank Water including charitable fundraising as well as  commercial sales and development through our Social Enterprise.

You will lead an integrated communications strategy which includes thought leadership, brand development, communicating impact, agreeing marketing messaging of commercial opportunities and of fundraising opportunities.

You will play a pivotal role in integrating income generation across the charity and the social enterprise, setting and driving the strategy to increase income from fundraising and communications, and developing delivery of the social enterprise services and products. 

Your team, who you’ll work with and line manage to deliver the strategy comprises the Fundraising & Communications Manager, Corporate Partnerships Manager and Commercial Manager. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure a diverse and balanced income portfolio to include philanthropy, legacy fundraising, community and individual giving, corporates, events and commercial (including income from products, services and festival activity via the social enterprise).

• Own and manage the Major Donor portfolio and stewardship.

• Set and manage the annual income generation budget, including regular re-forecasting.

• Lead on Frank Water’s communications and marketing strategy

• Manage key fundraising and communications risks and lead on fundraising compliance and GDPR for the organisation

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have experience in income generation through fundraising and/or through commercial channels, with a proven track record in securing 6 figure gifts and/or contracts. You will be entrepreneurial and dynamic, keen to make your mark and develop sustainable income streams to enable increased impact for the environment and communities we work with. You are a natural relationship manager with high emotional intelligence and a proven track record of managing teams with a professional, enabling style.

You will be proactive, organised, and an excellent communicator with strong attention to detail. You will have proven your communications skills and have a gift for quickly building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You are self-motivated, tenacious, and solutions focussed.

It is essential you’re passionate about social and environmental change and you will be keen to develop an understanding of all aspects of our work. You are able to travel throughout the UK when required to meet donors and partners (TOIL where appropriate). There will be opportunities to visit our projects overseas and you will be comfortable to travel for up to two weeks at a time when these opportunities arise.

You’ll have experience, or be ready to take on the challenge of working in a small, dynamic and ambitious organisation where the scope of work is broad and you’re happy to work on all levels, where days often include both strategic meetings and getting ‘stuck in’ with the team.

You’ll be able to work from our central Bristol office at least one day a week, enabling face to face working with the team and opportunity to support the SLT in building a collaborative and supportive culture.
