The Lucy Faithfull Foundation (LFF) is a UK-wide charity that exists to prevent child sexual abuse and exploitation. We’re here for everyone who needs us. We protect children by working with people who pose a risk and diverting them from causing harm. We support individuals and families who have been affected by abuse. And we help professionals who work with families to create safer environments for children through delivering risk assessments, interventions, training and consultancy.

About the role and you

We are recruiting for a Policy Officer within the Advocacy and Communications Team. You will report to the Director of Advocacy and Communications and work closely with all others in the team.

The purpose of this role is to strengthen LFF’s policy and advocacy efforts. You will be crucial in helping to develop strategic engagement, influence change and strengthen LFF’s impact on public policy, and in doing so, make a significant contribution to the prevention of child sexual abuse.

Bringing together your knowledge and experience engaging with various stakeholders, you will effect change by identifying opportunities to influence decision-making, analyse data to develop policy positions for the organisation, contribute to consultation submissions and provide advice on various policy matters.

Advocacy is one of three guiding principles in our 2025-2030 organisational strategy. It underpins all of our work – we advocate for a greater focus on preventing abuse before it happens, not just within the halls of parliament but through all aspects of our work from frontline practice to influencing national policy.

This role sits within the wider Advocacy and Communications Team which supports the promotion of all areas of our work across various channels: websites, social media, press and PR, marketing and digital advertising. Working with the wider team, we are striving to better showcase our advocacy work both internally and externally.

THE JOB:

Key Responsibilities

• Handling day to day administrative tasks for our busy Executive Director including scheduling, diary management, travel, fielding and responding to enquiries, meeting minutes and follow up;

The Clean Air Fund is looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner to join their team in London or Brussels. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing organisation whose mission is to use philanthropic grants to catalyse a reduction in air pollution in a newly created role.   

As Finance Business Partner will help ensure that the financial processes and procedures of the Clean Air Fund run smoothly, efficiently and effectively, for the project and ensures enabling support to our project team members to be effective.

You will provide support across both the CAF’s Finance and project team and will take a business partnering approach in helping provide a robust financial service, particularly to our Programmes team (primarily in the EU) and our grantees (pan-EU and in nine EU Member States) to ensure new and existing grants are well managed and implemented. This role reviews and approves the financial and operational aspects of Clean Air Fund’s grants and projects, including due diligence and budgets.  In this role you will, alongside the Global Finance Manager, support the relevant portfolio teams as well as the Project Director, Head of Europe Portfolio, Executive Director of Programmes in managing their grant making budgets and with grant forecasting.  

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience;

• Experienced finance business partner with grant financial management experience and a solutions focused approach.

Main Purpose of Role:

We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations. 

About you

•  The ideal candidate would possess excellent communication skills and the ability to provide timely and high-quality advice on health and safety matters.
•  They should demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and be able to collaborate effectively with senior team members to ensure compliance and address any areas of concern.
• Above all, we are looking for someone who shares our dedication to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all stakeholders.
• You will ideally have minimum qualification of a NEBOSH general certificate.

As Finance Director, you will work closely and collaboratively with Amit Sharma (Artistic Director/ CEO) and Iain Goosey (Executive Director), supporting them as they lead Kiln Theatre through a period of transition and growth. As a key member of the Senior Team, the Finance Director will be responsible for Kiln Theatre's financial health and for ensuring that effective controls are in place and that all regulatory requirements are met.

You will lead and manage the Finance department, ensuring that the finance operation at Kiln operates to the highest standards and is effectively embedded within the organisation.

The Finance Director will play a major role in contributing to Kiln Theatre's business planning and strategic development, including identifying opportunities for efficiencies, supporting the resilience of the organisation for the future, ensuring compliance with best practice at all times and helping the company to fulfil its creative and financial ambitions.

The role will work with members of the Board, particularly the Finance & Risk Committee, as well as the external auditors. The Finance Director also oversees the finances for Kiln Theatre Ltd and its two subsidiaries - Tricycle Screen Ltd and Kiln London Productions Limited.

You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our charity finances run smoothly and efficiently. As a standout candidate, you’ll be great at paying attention to detail, especially in invoice and balance sheet reconciliation, and will have great Excel skills. You’ll also enjoy collaborating across the organisation, and your problem-solving sets you apart.

To be successful, you’ll bring prior experience in a similar role and familiarity with non-profit governance and operations.

This role also offers the opportunity to be provided with financial support for finance exams.
