We are now seeking a strategic, values-led Director of Finance to join our Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organisation.

Salary: £72,000 – £77,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

About the Role

You’ll lead the financial strategy, planning and operations for the Orpheus Centre, ensuring sustainability, transparency and compliance while enabling innovation and growth. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with Trustees and senior leaders, you will:

• Provide strategic financial leadership and insight to drive organisational success.
• Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and audit.
• Ensure compliance with The Charity Commission, HMRC and Companies House regulations.
• Lead on procurement, risk management and digital transformation in finance systems.
• Manage investments and oversee capital and operational budgets.
• Lead and develop a small, high-performing finance team.

This is a hands-on and highly influential role for someone who thrives on both strategic planning and operational excellence.

About You

You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant experience in senior financial leadership — ideally within the charity and/or education sector.

Founded in 1967, the centre continues to be a vital support network for 16–24-year-olds with nowhere else to go. Through the services they provide at their day centre, in the community and remotely, their dedicated, multidisciplinary team of over 70 staff support thousands of young people facing homelessness in London to find safety, improve their wellbeing, develop skills for life and ultimately find somewhere that they can call home.

As they embark on their new 5-year strategy, the centre are now recruiting for an exceptional individual as their new Director of Services, a newly created role that will lead on the delivery and development of all frontline services.

As Director of Services, you will be responsible for the leadership, development and integration of all frontline services at the centre, covering Housing, Health, Youth Work, Rough Sleeping, and Youth Justice. You will work to ensure that services are high quality, joined-up, trauma-informed, and relentlessly focused on the needs and potential of the young people the organisation serves. You will lead service innovation, performance and quality across the delivery portfolio, ensuring that services are inclusive, impactful, and responsive to the needs of service users. As a senior leader, you will help shape organisational strategy and culture, working closely with the COO to drive improvements, partnerships and cross-team collaboration.

About the Role  

The Head of Finance will support the Director of Finance and Resources in providing strategic financial leadership across the charity. They will oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure robust financial management, and deliver timely and accurate financial reporting to support decision-making. The postholder will play a key role in safeguarding the charity’s financial sustainability and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. 

Key Responsibilities  

Financial Planning 

• Preparation of annual budgets and long-term financial plans.

Person Specification 

Essential 

• A relevant professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

• Strong IT skills, particularly with accounting software and Excel.

Key Responsibilities:
Referral Enablement

• Process new referrals submitted by Community Referral Partners, health and social care professionals, ensuring accurate data entry, and excellent stakeholder management both through both written and verbal communication.
• Proactively manage a dynamic caseload of 150–200 wishes at any given time, ensuring each wish application progresses efficiently through the various stages of the wish journey in alignment with established referral targets and service timelines. This includes monitoring progress, identifying and resolving potential delays, maintaining accurate records, and self-allocating new referrals in line with organisational priorities
• Take ownership of the weekly coordination and distribution of wish referral materials, ensuring all communications and resources are prepared, reviewed, and delivered accurately and on time to key stakeholders—including Community Referral Partners, wish families, and internal teams—to support a seamless and consistent referral process.
• Monitor and maintain the accuracy and integrity of data across internal systems to ensure full compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), data protection regulations, and organisational protocols. This includes conducting regular data audits, identifying and correcting discrepancies, and working collaboratively with internal teams to uphold high standards of data quality, which are essential for effective decision-making, reporting, and service delivery.
• Collaborate with the Wish Discovery Coordinator to facilitate the effective involvement of Make-A-Wish UK volunteers, ensuring families receive the support they need throughout the wish experience. This includes coordinating volunteer assignments, arranging interpreter services where required, and promoting a seamless, inclusive, and supportive journey for every wish family.
• Ensure all referral processes, service level agreements (SLAs), and Make-A-Wish UK eligibility criteria are consistently followed, maintaining full compliance with organisational policies and procedures. This includes accurately assessing referral information against eligibility requirements, escalating any concerns, queries, or ambiguities to the appropriate team or line manager for review, and ensuring all decisions are documented and communicated clearly. Additionally, maintain strong communication with stakeholders to ensure clarity around eligibility decisions and support a fair, transparent referral process.
• Ensure the principles of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are always reflected within the wish process.
• Support the Wish Referral Team Manager and Wish Referral Lead and Make-A-Wish UK in achieving our goal to reach every eligible child within the UK.

Stakeholder Communication

• Act as the first point of contact for all Wish Granting (WG)–related queries and enquiries, responding promptly and professionally via email, phone, WhatsApp, and post. Ensure that all stakeholders—including wish families, volunteers, and referral partners—receive a high-quality, compassionate, and consistent customer service experience
• Ensure accurate communications with referral partners, wish children and their families/guardians, employees, and volunteers in relation to wish applications.  
• Ensure that our service level agreements are met, and stakeholder expectations are sensitively and professionally managed in line with our policies.
• Liaise with other charity partners to assess whether referred wish children meet Make-A-Wish UK’s eligibility criteria. Where referrals do not meet the criteria, collaborate with the Wish Referral Partner Manager to ensure that referrers receive clear, constructive feedback and gain a full understanding of Make-A-Wish UK’s eligibility requirements, supporting transparent and informed referral practices.

Systems and Processes:

• Collaborate with the Wish Referral Team Manager to identify and implement improvements to the wish journey experience, ensuring it is seamless, inclusive, and positive for all stakeholders. Contribute feedback, insights, and suggestions to enhance processes, communication, and overall service delivery in line with organisational goal
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within our CRM system (Salesforce), ensuring data integrity and consistency, at all times.
• Follow internal processes to ensure wish children and their families move through the wish journey smoothly, and always in line with our service level agreements.
• Actively participate and engage in project work, providing constructive insights and ideas to enhance the wish journey for every wish child.

Safeguarding and Data Governance:

• Ensure all wish records and related data are stored and maintained on Make-A-Wish Information Systems and that all data is managed within set policies and procedures (such as data privacy, liability, consent forms, marketing permissions etc.)
• Facilitate a culture of safeguarding awareness. Identify, report and escalate any issues or concerns in line with organisational processes and procedures.
• Raise safeguarding concerns and complete relevant internal procedure

The Supporter Retention Manager will be responsible for designing and delivering strategies that build supporter loyalty, increase lifetime value, and enhance the overall supporter experience. The role ensures that every supporter feels valued, engaged, and motivated to continue and grow their commitment to the organisation. Working in the Individual Giving Team, and in close partnership with the Marketing team, the postholder will deliver impactful stewardship campaigns, tailored supporter journeys, and creative engagement initiatives that maximise retention and enhance supporter experience.

To be considered you will require:

• Proven experience in a generalist HR role, ideally as a standalone or lead HR professional in a small to medium sized setting
• Confidence to manage the full range of employee lifecycle activity independently
• Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Payroll administration experience
• CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent)
• Tech savvy and skilled in HR systems and data management, ideally with experience of implementing HR systems and working with external HR partners
• Experience in the charity, not-for-profit, or membership sectors
• Familiarity with safeguarding frameworks would be desirable

Stepping Stones is a small, local charity based in Southwark, supporting adults with learning disabilities to live more connected, creative and fulfilling lives. We’re looking for a friendly, organised and proactive person to join us as our new Activities and Volunteer Coordinator. This is a hands-on, people-focused role. You’ll be the go-to person for keeping our weekly sessions running smoothly, supporting facilitators, welcoming learners, managing session admin and planning community events like our summer show and Christmas party. You’ll also take the lead on developing our volunteer programme by recruiting, inducting and supporting the amazing people who give their time to help make Stepping Stones such a special place.

You’ll be supported by our Charity Manager and work closely with a small, passionate team who care deeply about inclusion, wellbeing and creativity.

Full-time | £34,000 per annum

The charity has been supporting children, young people and families for over 25 years through a range of play, family support and youth programmes. Their Ofsted-registered after-school and holiday play schemes provide children aged 4–11 with safe, engaging and nurturing environments to explore, grow and thrive.

As Deputy Play Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role within the play service, helping to design, deliver and evaluate a high-quality programme of activities. You’ll support the Play Manager in day-to-day operations (including managing enquiries/collection of fees), team management and ensuring compliance with all safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted standards.

This is a hands-on role combining leadership, planning, and active delivery — you’ll work directly with children and families to create safe, inclusive, and stimulating play environments.

About You

Essential skills and experience:

• Level 3 qualification (or above) in Playwork, Early Years, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years’ experience working directly with children aged 4–11.
• Strong understanding of EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
• Experience planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate play activities.
• Confident leading active, outdoor or adventure-based play.
• Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
• Strong organisational and IT skills.

Desirable:

• Experience supporting children with additional needs or from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience supervising others or managing volunteers.
• Knowledge of current issues affecting children and families.

About the role

You’ll play a vital role in the timely and effective delivery, developing and delivering training and adoption plans to prepare users for the release of Salesforce Non-Profit Cloud, Findock, other integrations and reporting. 

You’ll keep users and benefits realisation at the centre, helping us become Fit for the Future, realise our goals around income generation and supporter experience.

What you'll do

• Enable technical and business users to adopt the new solution, processes and ways of working into business as usual.

• Assess knowledge, skills, barriers and training needs in the business and for technical users of the new platforms. 

• Collaborate with the CRM project teams, Business Lead and Salesforce implementation partner(s) to develop a training and adoption strategy and plan, aligning with the build and release of the new platforms and associated changes to process and user roles. 

• Design and deliver training and adoption engagements for the implementation of Salesforce NPC, and Findock. Make necessary adjustments based on feedback, effectiveness and the audience.

• Prepare training content to build appetite with users from the early stages of delivery right through to adoption at go live and reinforcement of skills in hypercare. 

What you'll bring

• Significant experience delivering training programmes when implementing CRM/ERP/data platforms 

• Strong record of tackling technical concepts and working with business and technical stakeholders to adopt software solutions and work with customer data 

• Experience of delivering training and adoption activity in Salesforce CRM, NPSP and/or NPC 

• Practical understanding of change management principles and adoption processes (e.g. PROSCI/ADKAR)

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage people and communicate ideas

Business Officer –Europe & Eurasia

The Business Officer will work for the Europe & Eurasia Programme Management Unit (PMU) and will provide the highest standards of financial and administrative support to European funded Internews E&E Programmes. We are looking for a responsible and professional individual to perform a variety of financial and administrative tasks. Duties of the Business Officer will include the financial administration of current projects, oversight of project budgets and partner spending, facilitation of payment requests, budgetary projections and other financial and administrative duties that may be required during this period.

The Business Officer will work closely with the Programme Officer, the Senior Business Associate and the Programme Finance Business Partner to provide timely and quality support to programmes as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following with other duties upon request:

Financial administration of Internews’s projects:

· Review project expenditure and ensure accuracy of coding.

· Manage cash-flow to ensure the availability of project funds at Internews’ offices.

· Work with Programme Finance Business Partners (PFBPs) to prepare financial reports for donors, prepare notes for financial reports, and ensure that costs are reported in compliance with donor requirements.

· Monitor co-financing plans.

· Advise project teams on the correct application of HQ policies and processes, including on procurement, travel, etc.

Budget oversight:

· Review budget-versus-actuals and facilitate forecasting in line with project activities.

· Support partners with budget planning.

· Align internal templates to donor formats for effective monitoring and reporting.

· Sub-grants oversight and keeping SGA (Sub-Grant Agreements) tracker:

· Support Internews’ partners to prepare budgets under sub-grant agreements.

· Review financial reports from partners when required and coordinate corrections as required.

Payments and administration:

· Coordinate payment requests to London, including reviews, confirmations, and follow-ups.

· Monitor donor income and prepare requests for disbursements to donors.

· Review and verify suppliers’ invoices to Internews’ London HQ accounting department.

· Support Accounting field teams in terms of induction and refreshment training regarding Internews and donors’ procedures and policies.

· Budget development: work closely with Programme Officer, Senior Business Associate and country offices to develop budgets for new proposals. Coordinate on the development of co-financing approaches and plans for opportunities with the European Commission and other European donors.

· Help set up business processes for new projects, including the preparation of requests for Personal Service Contracts.

· Support the process of staff contracting for projects.

· Help project teams with staff charges to relevant projects.

· Other tasks: participate in project audits carried out at the HQ as required by the London finance controls team.

· Other financial and administrative tasks may be assigned as required.

· University degree (preferable) in Accounting, Business Administration or Financial management

· Qualification in Accounting (Knowledge of ERP (Agresso) will be a plus)

Expected office hours are generally Monday through Friday from 09:00am to 5:30pm.
