• Be a welcoming and generous host for visitors to our Charity and for event hires at the Centre

The person we are looking for will have:

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Events and Stewardship Manager, to manage the planning, delivery  and evaluation of high impact  events and stewardship initiatives that engage and inspire prospects, donors and our partners: 

• Events: Taking a proactive approach to project management, this role will have responsibility for delivering a range of events across our global event portfolio. These events underpin Mission 44’s fundraising goals, especially for HNWI and corporate audiences. 

• Stewardship: As part of the fundraising team, the post-holder will deliver exceptional support and experiences for our current donors including production of impact-focused reports,  personalised communications and moments that build community for Mission 44’s growing donor base. 

It is expected the role will have a  60:40 split between events management and stewardship activities.  This role is ideal for a skilled planner, exceptional collaborator, and a strong writer, capable of supporting the delivery of exceptional donor experiences, stewardship communications, progress reports and materials that showcase Mission 44’s impact. It is worth noting whilst Mission 44’s events portfolio is global, this role will have minimal international travel. 

Key Responsibilities

Special Events Management 

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of global events within Mission 44’s portfolio, including donor and prospect dinners, trackside activations and flagship fundraising galas.

• Lead on core event logistics plans, including venue searches, supplier contracting, building of accurate run of shows and production schedules for multi-day events. 

• Produce quality briefing materials for event participants, staff, trustees, donors and impact partners. 

• Support the wider Fundraising team with securing sponsorship, ticket sales, and securing auction items. This includes production of targeted collateral for outreach. 

• Produce quality and timely evaluation for events activities that capture key learnings, recommendations and event ROI.

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure events materials are aligned with brand and messaging. 

Stewardship: Donor Communications and Reporting 

• Deliver exceptional donor experiences, including impact-focused reports,  personalised communications, and bespoke touch-points with impact partners and the Mission 44 team. 

• Oversee the preparation and submission of specific donor reports, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with donor guidelines and grant agreements. 

• Manage select bespoke stewardship projects which strengthen relationships with donors especially our corporate partners

• Work closely with our Impact and Finance teams to gather data, track progress, and strengthen internal reporting processes. 

• Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure that donor communications are consistent with our brand and messaging.

• Maintain accurate records of donor and partner interactions using our CRM system (Virtuous).

About the role:

About the Role

As the new Finance Manager you will oversee the charity’s finance processes, leading all of the day-to-day financial operations, producing regular financial reporting for the senior management team and board. You’ll work closely with the Co-Director: Strategic Development to monitor financial performance against targets.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing finance operations including bookkeeping and monthly reporting
• Producing financial reports for the senior team and board
• Supporting budgets for funding applications and projects
• Monitoring income from grants, donations and other sources
• Coordinating the monthly payroll process
• Liaising with auditors for year-end accounts
• Collaborating on strategy and supporting a positive team culture

The Adult Carers Team Leader reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for leading and managing the Adult Carers team. 

You will provide leadership and stability to the Adult Carers staff team, by line managing, coaching and supporting employees to create a happy, productive work environment. You will work within the Adult Carers team to deliver an engaging, accessible range of peer support groups, social activities and one to one support, working to targets and budget, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to funders.

This role requires you to work collaboratively with carers and professionals to meet carers’ needs and shape the service, building and maintaining strong partnerships to do so. You will support our wider organisational objectives and help out with events, communications and other ad hoc work.

Are you a dynamic leader with the energy and experience to shape the future of one of the RSPB’s most important visitor sites?

We’re looking for an inspiring and inclusive leader with experience in visitor operations and land management to oversee the visitor facilities at RSPB Newport Wetlands on the Gwent Levels.

As Site Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering site objectives alongside a high-quality visitor experience. With over 70,000 visitors a year and a thriving membership recruitment operation, Newport Wetlands is a key site for connecting people with nature. You’ll lead and inspire a highly committed team of staff and volunteers to deliver excellence, therefore line management and leadership experience are essential for this role.

You will also work alongside a variety of colleagues from across the RSPB in a matrix structure, including (but not limited to) consultants within the Visitor Operations Team, health and safety, rural surveyors, ecology, fundraising, project management, communications and policy.

The successful candidate will be a capable manager who works well with a wide range of people and can collaborate effectively with partners at all levels. Your strong programme and people management skills will help the team achieve the best possible outcomes against our priorities.

You’ll lead work programmes and projects, so enthusiasm, initiative, and diplomacy are key. You’ll need to communicate your passion for nature to others and have a hands-on approach to solving practical challenges.

You’ll need experience of managing income and expenditure budgets and have a commercially minded approach to ensure that we deliver a great visitor experience and generate a profit. You’ll also need to be a good, clear communicator and have an eye for detail, be able to manage systems and processes to ensure that they are all legally, financially and organisationally compliant.

As Site Manager you will:

• Manage day to day operations for people, visitors, finance and legal compliance, habitats and species
• Inspire, lead and develop the dedicated team of staff and volunteers
• Be responsible for the review, update and implementation of the site business plan
• Act as the main point of contact for the local community, neighbours, and partner organisations in order maintain good relationships
• Enjoy the support of a very experienced local team, area manager, visitor operations consultants, ecologists, rural surveyor, safety advisor and other specialist RSPB staff.
