LBWP is a specialist by and for organisation providing refuge and supported accommodation for Black and minoritised, i.e. Global Majority women who are survivors of domestic violence and abuse. We manage refuges in Newham and Haringey and deliver trauma-informed, wraparound support to women and children, including counselling and legal advice,
The Finance & Operations Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for the financial sustainability, compliance and operational effectiveness of the charity. The postholder will lead all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, rent and service charge accounting, housing benefit income and statutory reporting.
Alongside this, the role has strategic responsibility for office and refuge operations, including facilities management, health and safety, and central administrative systems.
The Finance & Operations Manager will work closely with the Director, Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees, manage key external relationships, and line manage finance and operations staff.

Operations Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, hands-on Operations Manager to join the team.

Position: Operations Manager
Location: Leicester/Hybrid (1 home working day per week until after settling in period)
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time
Contract: Permanent

About the Role
As Operations Manager, you’ll lead and enable the day-to-day operations of the charity and its central functions, ensuring the very best of outcomes for the charity, its people and the communities it serves.
You’ll report to the Chief Executive and hold line management responsibilities for the charity’s service managers and central administration team who collectively lead around 90 colleagues.

About You
An experienced manager of people and operations with a track-record of managing teams, contracts, projects, and programmes in a dynamic environment. You will be positive, proactive and highly organised with an ability to make effective contributions in leadership and direction of operations.
Driven to deliver high standards of excellence and recovers brilliantly in adversity, we are looking for someone with experience of quality, compliance, audit, and risk, matched with a comprehensive understanding of process improvement and operational management.
This role would really suit a strategic and forward thinking who wants to really make their mark and help lead the charity in to its next exciting chapter.

This role is central to the financial and operational delivery of
Cumbria Youth Alliance. It combines hands-on financial
management with day-to-day coordination of internal systems,
funder compliance, and back-office operations. Working in
partnership with the HR and Operations Manager and reporting
to the COO, the postholder helps keep the organisation’s
infrastructure running effectively and efficiently. They will also
collaborate with the wider Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to
ensure financial processes, reporting, and systems meet the
needs of staff, funders, and trustees. The role supports audit
preparation, VAT returns, funder reporting, and internal
systems development, with scope to grow as the organisation’s
operational and strategic needs evolve.
The postholder will also provide administrative and
coordination support to the SLT as needed, helping ensure
operational continuity and organisational effectiveness. They
may also provide line management for junior or administrative
staff, depending on the structure and capacity of the team.
