Job Title: Volunteering Learning System Administrator
Location: Gilwell Park (Hybrid) or Home-Based
Salary:
- £29,486 per annum (Band D, Level 3 – inclusive of Outer London Weighting, for Gilwell-based contracts)
- £27,726 per annum (Band D, Level 3, for home-based contracts)
Working Pattern:
35 hours per week, with frequent evening work and occasional weekends required.
Contract Type: Fixed term (2 years)
Workplace Expectations:
- For Gilwell-based contracts: Attendance at the office is expected once per week, plus one additional day per month for team collaboration.
- For home-based contracts: Occasional travel to the office is expected, approximately once per month.

As the Volunteering Learning System Administrator, your Key Responsibilities will include:
- Regularly review and update the Learning Experience System to optimise performance and usability.
- Assist in configuring and testing new system features to meet user needs.
- Set up and support the new Trainer role, enabling local course management.
- Enable and configure features like badges, points, leaderboards, and social tools
- Collaborating with digital, operations, and transformation teams to ensure the system is inclusive, accessible, and aligned with Scouting values.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work on World Cancer Research Fund International’s Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global). CUP Global (previously known as CUP) is a unique, long-standing, and rigorous research programme that systematically gathers, analyses, and judges the strength of the global evidence on how diet, nutrition, physical activity and body weight affect cancer risk and survival. This work led to the publication of the authoritative Third Expert Report in 2018, which now needs updating in places to remain relevant and impactful.
As Senior Research Interpretation Officer, you will be a valuable member of the Research Interpretation team and the CUP Global scientific Secretariat. Your core work will be supporting the management of CUP Global on a day-to-day basis to help deliver its main objective of updating the Third Expert Report. You will provide scientific input, administrative support, and help coordinate specific work areas of CUP Global.
We are looking to recruit someone who has a Masters degree in public health sciences, particularly nutrition and/or cancer research, and with a good understanding of epidemiological concepts. We are seeking someone with experience of writing scientifically, copywriting, editing and proofreading, with good attention to detail and with experience of reviewing and interpreting scientific research/literature. We require someone who can co-ordinate and manage projects, who can produce concise, well-constructed, written communications with the ability to present orally to various audiences in a clear and persuasive manner, and who can provide administrative support, including taking meeting minutes and writing professional emails.
This is a permanent role within the Science and Policy Department at World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) International. This hands-on role supports the upkeep and smooth operation of site facilities, and buildings. You'll carry out reactive and planned maintenance tasks, including minor mechanical repairs, plumbing, painting, decorating, basic carpentry, and grounds keeping.

We are looking for a Finance Officer to join our team to administer the financial affairs of the District. This role will include working closely with the District Secretary and Treasurer to implement financial policies and controls, assisting with preparing budgets and accounts, managing payroll, processing receipts and payments and maintaining appropriate accounting records.

Responsibilities
Financial Controls and Policies
- Support the District Treasurer to implement proper financial policies and controls, ensuring appropriate accounting codes for churches and charities are complied with.
Budgets and Accounts
- Assist the District Secretary, Treasurer and Resourcing Mission Committee to prepare budget and circuit assessments for the District with reference to the District Mission Plan.
- Work with the District Secretary and Treasurer to prepare annual accounts for the District, including liaising with the auditors and helping to draft the Trustees’ Annual Report, particularly with regard to accounting practice and policies.
- Support the District Secretary as needed to ensure compliance with the Methodist Church and Charity Commission requirements, including supplying the information for HMRC P11D forms.
Payroll
- Ensure District employees’ and ministers’ payroll information is correct and liaise with the central Methodist payroll bureau so that staff are paid on time.
Administration of Bank Accounts
- Monitor cash flow and administer transfers between bank accounts.
- Set up approved payments in online banking and liaise with signatories to authorise these for payment.
- Liaise with the Treasurer and/or District Secretary on transactions with the Central Finance Board and Trustees for Methodist Church Purposes, preparing paperwork to facilitate drawdown of funds.
- Administer changes to banking mandates.
- Administer changes to Direct Debits and Standing Order instructions.
Receipts and Payments/Book-keeping
- Check invoices and expenses claims for accuracy, before sending to authorised persons for approval.
- Record all bank transactions for all bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Produce monthly fund summaries, with detailed analyses.
- Provide monthly ‘sub-accounts’, where required, for specific projects
Other key tasks
- Manage the District’s Financial Record systems, including archiving information as necessary
- With the District Secretary, review and renew the District’s Insurance Policies.
- Maintain the District’s Asset Register.
- Other duties commensurate with the role as agreed with the District Secretary.
