It’s been a successful few years for PCR’s Events team with good results across the portfolio, raising over £1.4m (against a target of £800k) in 2023-24 and more than £2.3m in 2024-25 (against a target of £1.7m). The team structure has recently been refreshed, bringing in new roles to ease capacity and ensure the whole team can do their best work – contributing to PCR’s lifesaving mission, developing in their careers and enjoying their jobs within our ambitious and supportive team.
This role is a new position within the structure, created to focus on our growing third-party events portfolio, an area which is performing well across the sector and deserves more attention. It is an important role which will oversee the innovation, planning and delivery of all third-party events, whilst taking a leading role on wider infrastructure development for the team.
You will work with colleagues across the organisation to seize opportunities, whilst ensuring best practice in our fundraising activity and the delivery of brilliant stewardship during supporters’ participation in third-party events & beyond.
The position reports to the Head of Events & Community and will supervise the work of two Events & Community Executives on relevant projects. Collaboration will be important, including with the other Events team managers who each lead the innovation, planning & delivery of (a) virtual challenge events, and (b) PCR-owned bespoke events.
We are keen to work together to develop & shape this into an exciting and meaningful role for you. At PCR, we prioritise our team members’ development, and there will be a % of time available to work on other areas of the portfolio for development and interest. However, your main focus will be:
Strategy, project management and income growth

Create and lead the strategy to maximise the value of PCR’s third-party challenge events portfolio, working with the Head of E&C and others to take a long-term view and build this area into a sustainable & growing income stream.

Oversee the project management of all third-party events, including the London & Brighton Marathons (and other new events as they are introduced), working with the E&C Executives to ensure targets are met and best practice delivered.

Design and deliver ambitious fundraising budgets for your projects which contribute net income towards PCR’s mission.

Build good relationships with suppliers, venues, agencies and consultants to ensure great value.

Oversee the stewardship of fundraisers, ensuring journeys are relevant & engaging and continuously improved.

Work with the other Events team managers to contribute to the planning & delivery of other activity areas.
Product development and innovation

Seize the opportunity to grow & improve PCR’s third-party event portfolio, staying up to date with sector trends, identifying new journeys, suppliers & products, and taking a test & learn approach, always ensuring that learnings are captured. For this, there will be realistic budgets & an understanding of the investment needed for new ideas.

Develop approaches to engage supporters beyond their initial participation, working with Public Fundraising colleagues & others to test cross-selling journeys and maximise the life-time value of third-party event fundraisers.

Maintain a strong level of understanding of PCR’s existing (and target) supporters to create and implement products & stewardship that motivate and inspire them.

Alongside the Head of E&C and other Events team managers, embed a culture of innovation and supporter insight.

Proactively collaborate internally, working with other teams to identify opportunities which meet PCR’s objectives, including with the Partnerships team to ensure the development & delivery of an employee fundraising programme.

Take the lead in developing processes and infrastructure across the Events team that improve efficiency, compliance and best practice, working with other team members to prioritise and deliver this work.
Team leadership

Alongside the other Events team managers, supervise the relevant day-to-day work of the Events & Community Executives to ensure that the projects you are working on together are carried out effectively.

Prostate Cancer Research is seeking an experience, dynamic and driven Trusts and Statutory Executive to join their team in a newly created role.
Prostate Cancer Research is a research and patient engagement organisation focused on advancing ground-breaking research and interventions into diagnosis, treatment, and care to create a future where prostate cancer no longer threatens lives. Their focus is on delivering innovative solutions and improving quality of life for patients, families, and communities affected by prostate cancer, supporting and encouraging marginalised and underrepresented communities to be part of the positive changes they are working to achieve in research, treatment and care.
The integral role of Trusts and Statutory Executive will lead on identifying and securing collaboration and funding opportunities with both existing and prospective partners to develop and manage a pipeline of strategic partners giving approximately £5,000 to £20,000, that align with PCR’s mission and core programmes of work. The post will be responsible for proactively researching new trust and statutory funding opportunities and working with the Trusts and Statutory Manager to support and lead on applications to new and existing funding partners (£20,000+). The post-holder will also provide excellent stewardship to build strong and sustainable relationships with the charity’s donors.
The ideal candidate will be a Trusts and Foundations fundraiser with demonstrable experience of developing and nurturing relationships with funders and partners, understanding complex issues and working with others to identify solutions, and producing compelling funding proposals in support of this work. You will have a background in identifying and securing at least five-figure income from prospective Trusts and Foundations and statutory income sources, as well of producing high-quality and completing proposals, reports and presentations. You will be able to build and maintain relationships with funders and key stakeholders and have excellent communication and organisational skills, supported by an excellent attention to detail.

About the team

About this role
The Executive Assistant (EA) to the Chief Executive at Impetus plays a vital role in providing high-level administrative and project management support to the Chief Executive and ensuring the smooth operating of the Senior Management Team (SMT). The EA acts as a key liaison between the Chief Executive and internal/external stakeholders, managing sensitive information and handling a wide range of administrative and executive support tasks.
This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer creative solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Key responsibilities
Executive Support:
- Provide sophisticated calendar management for the Chief Executive.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on all matters pertaining to the Chief Executive, including those of a highly confidential or critical nature.
- Prioritise and determine the appropriate course of action, referral, or response, exercising judgement to reflect the Chief Executive’s style and organisational policy.

Key Responsibilities
1. IT Coordination
- Oversee the Law Centre’s IT systems to ensure they are secure, efficient, and meet the organisation's needs.
- Manage and develop the Law Centre's case management system to ensure it supports the effective delivery of services and reporting requirements.
- Liaise with external IT providers to coordinate maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting.
- Identify and implement opportunities for digital transformation and improved operational efficiency.

Role Summary
We are looking for a passionate and effective Autistic Lived Experience Trainer to support us to deliver an exciting new programme of work. We have been commissioned by an NHS organisation to deliver and support the roll out of autism-informed care training to all staff working in their mental health inpatient settings. - Develop and implement a content strategy for our digital channels (working closely with the social media team) and a set of guiding principles for producing engaging, accessible, search optimised content across all channels
- Create written, graphic and audiovisual digital content, and devise creative content ideas to support campaigns, appeals and organisational priorities
- Provide video editing services to the organisation as required
- Manage ongoing relationships with agencies and/or freelancers to deliver digital content
- Work with the Digital Officer and Senior Digital Manager to ensure all new content is optimised for SEO
- Work with the case study manager to produce story-based content which can be used to give a case for support across our website and social channels
- Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of content for a bereavement self-help product/platform and the bereavement content on our website
- Explore new and engaging ways to tell our story through animation, audio, written content and imagery
- Support with video and other content production for internal use, where needed
About You
- Ability to create impactful and compelling online content (written copy, graphics, video and audio)
- Excellent written English and proofreading skills
- Excellent understanding of best practice when writing for online platforms, including a good understanding of accessibility requirements for digital communications
- Excellent video production skills, from conception through to editing and resizing for different platforms
- Experience using Canva, Photoshop or other design software to create graphics
- A creative flair and ability to contribute new ideas for content to projects and campaigns
- Experience of using content management systems (CMS) – we use Wagtail
- Experience in developing and executing content strategies
- Experience working and collaborating with digital agencies and other external suppliers, including procurement and contracting processes
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices and principles and keyword research
- Understanding of user journeys and IA and the role quality content plays in these
- Understanding of best practices with digital communications to supporters and service users
- Experienced in collecting insights using various tools (including GA4 and Search Console) to understand how content is performing
- Project management experience
- Experience in managing agencies and/or freelancers
- Able to work independently and to deadlines
- Able to work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver shared visions and objectives
- Highly organised and able to prioritise a busy workload with changing priorities
Desirable Requirements
- Experience of working in the not for profit, bereavement or health sector
- Knowledge and experience in social media content creation
