Are you an experienced, pro-active facilities professional ready to make a difference to young lives in Doncaster? Join us as our Facilities Manager and help to provide and improve services that young people and families can rely on. 

We are looking for an organised person to take the lead on managing our properties to ensure safe, functional, clean and welcoming facilities.  This will include preparing reports, carrying out audit checks and associated administrative duties.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the buildings meet Health and Safety standards, and that relevant procedures are being complied with.

You will be working with our established systems, conducting regular checks to ensure that the buildings and site are properly maintained, cleaned and well-presented. This will include supervisory responsibilities and the oversight of external contractors.

As a part of our management team, you will be involved in dealing with staffing, client or other issues across the organisation as they arise, and you will be part of our On Call rota.

You will be able to develop a strong understanding of our various services and users, and particularly the issues arising in an accommodation setting for young people.

You will have strong recent experience, an understanding of relevant Health and Safety / maintenance issues and great organisational skills.

Main Responsibilities

• To be responsible for ensuring that all facilities comply with Health and Safety, maintenance and organisational standards, that procedures are in place and complied with, and that matters arising are addressed promptly.
• To provide line management to the facilities team including recruitment, induction and training.
• To engage and oversee contractors in accordance with policy requirements, including proactive safety testing and the resolution of repairs.
• To ensure that appropriate Health and Safety risk assessments are in place to cover the scope of the YMCA’s premises and activities. 
• To ensure that appropriate Health and Safety inductions and toolbox talks are completed for staff, volunteers, residents and others as required.
• To advise senior staff on matters impacting policies or procedures, and to bring day-to-day experience to developmental / strategic discussions. 
• To contribute to gathering information and evidence relating to the regulatory framework for registered providers, safety issues and other licencing and similar matters. 
• To oversee compliance with a designated Health and Safety standard (currently CHAS). 
• To manage specified income and expenditure budgets, ensuring good value and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• To provide regular and occasional reports as required, including for the monitoring of targets.

• Educated to level three or higher, preferably with a relevant qualification in Health & Safety or Facilities Management.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

· Proven experience in a similar role, such as a Learning and Development Specialist, with end-to-end design and delivery of training programmes, including training needs analysis and measuring outcomes.

· CIPD Qualified (level 5 minimum) or equivalent with experience in developing an L&D strategy that supports business objectives and designing inclusive learning solutions.

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and deliver training effectively.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Partnerships and Development to lead and drive our growth, ensuring the long-term sustainability and expansion of our work.  

The role will involve combining strategic leadership and operational delivery, with a particular focus on expanding Abianda’s training programmes across the UK, increasing unrestricted income, strengthening partnerships and overseeing impact measurement.

You will ensure that our training, consultancy, and income-generating activities are aligned with our mission to support young women affected by criminal exploitation and violence. Job details:

• Salary: £45,000 per annum, plus pension (reviewed annually)

The Role

What will I be doing?

• Managing a portfolio of public engagement events, including the delivery of the summer exhibition in Dublin each year and public engagement events across NI, Scotland and Wales
• Working with colleagues from across the organisation, particularly those in the Membership and National teams to support member led or member involved approaches to public engagement, with members supported and enabled to deliver appropriate activities that impactfully contribute to the IOP’s strategic goals.
• Support the development of public engagement content that demonstrates the value of physics and its applications to our lives and the full range of career and education pathways that can be accessed through doing physics
• Support the evaluation of Public Engagement Events to ensure the ongoing improvement pf our programme

Please note that this role will require significant travel around the UK and Ireland to deliver its remit. We particularly welcome applications from outside London and the South East of England with this in mind.

Projects you work on may include:

• Managing events and activities across the UK and Ireland that connect families with physics
• Developing new, novel and exciting resources that convey the relevance of physics to our daily lives
• Supporting IOP Members and physicists more broadly to be relatable role models for young people and to tell their stories in engaging ways

Who will I work with?

• The role holder reports to the Head of Public Engagement and Dialogue
• Working closely with the other members of the Public Engagement team to deliver a vibrant annual programme
• Collaborating with colleagues from across the IOP including Membership, EDI and Communications

Essential Criteria

• A proven track record of delivering excellence in public engagement with science and physics in particular, particularly with families
• Experience in working with volunteers and those from across the science community to deliver public engagement
• Skill in translating complex physics topics into family-friendly activities
• Experience of engaging with diverse communities, especially those currently under-represented in physics
• A degree in physics/science related/astronomy

Nice to have

• A post-graduate qualification Science/Astronomy or similar

Mental Health Support Teams are part of a national strategy implemented by the government in 2018. In Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire, the MHSTs are run as a partnership between OTR and NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (AWP CAMHS). This partnership makes our MHST unique, creative, and responsive to the needs of the diverse communities we work in.

Team Coordinators will assist MHST Team Managers and Clinical Leads in the operational management of Mental Health Support Teams by providing high quality support to staff members and supporting initiatives to develop our workforce.
