Purpose

To provide administrative and marketing support to the Head of Communications and the Director of Charlie Waller Workplace to facilitate the growth of both the Charlie Waller Trust and the Charlie Waller Workplace offers; charitable and commercial respectively.  

About the role

The majority of this role supports the development and coordination of activities in our paid for service, Charlie Waller Workplace. This service offers strategic consultancy and training to employers, managers and staff on how to embed a whole organisation approach to mental health and wellbeing at work.

We are looking for a highly motivated, confident individual who is able to quickly develop rapport and maintain effective, professional relationships with a varied client base. This role will suit an individual with a keen eye for detail, who has excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to engage with a varied range of stakeholders and to work independently. The successful applicant will be able to effectively balance competing demands, manage a range of diverse activities from administrative support, to coordinating some of our cross-programme projects, to engaging with our external clients and stakeholders.

Whilst experience, or a background, in mental health is not essential, we would expect the successful candidate to demonstrate an interest in this area, particularly in relation to the workplace. There will be opportunities to increase knowledge of this area by shadowing and directly supporting our external training and consultancy activity. This role is situated within the permanent office team at Charlie Waller, and you will work alongside other colleagues who directly support our communications, fundraising and charitable activity. Your key tasks however will be focussed on the needs of Charlie Waller Workplace, supporting the Director and workplace consultants.

As part of this role, you will be expected to update and manage social media and marketing activities for Charlie Waller Workplace. This will require creating content that showcases Charlie Waller Workplace’s services in a way that complements and co-exists with all Charlie Waller social media marketing.

With the support of the Communications team, you will be required to represent and attend events, create visual content (e.g. images, photography and video), draft and send out email marketing, update web pages and write short form content (e.g. social media posts, blogs and emails).

You may occasionally be required to attend off-site meetings; if these are outside office hours, time off in lieu will be given.

Key responsibilities

• Dealing with and responding to incoming phone calls, email and website enquiries or requests.
• Providing the first point of contact for Charlie Waller Workplace customers, helping to identify their needs, advising them of our range of services and ensuring they receive a professional and responsive approach.

Read for Good’s Grants and Trusts Manager leads on securing high-value income for the national charity from trusts and foundations, typically securing one-off and multi-year grants in the five- to six-figure range. You will research and cultivate prospective funders, produce compelling, tailored proposals, programme reports and manage a strong pipeline of funding opportunities. You will also develop and steward long-term funding relationships that align with our mission and strategy, building on our well established and robust pipeline. In addition to your own portfolio, you will support the wider grants and fundraising team, helping to deliver on team targets, strengthen internal processes, and ensure high-quality reporting and compliance.

This is a key role in the charity’s income generation strategy and will work closely with senior colleagues to shape fundable programmes and plan for long-term sustainability.

Income Generation and Fundraising

• Research and develop a strong pipeline of new and existing high-value trusts and grant-making prospects (typically five- and six-figure applications).

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Sustrans as part of the Paths for Everyone Strategy to shape and develop the future vision for the National Cycle Network in across Scotland.

As Network Development Manager for NCN Planning, you will work closely with councils and partners to identify and initiate a range of projects that will fix and grow the National Cycle Network in Scotland. You will undertake and assist in the population of the project pipeline across Scotland by determining projects for investment, managing them through the feasibility stage and liaising with local authorities and other partners to agree design proposals.

Contributing to Paths for Everyone, your day-to-day work will involve dealing with network queries from the public, councils, and interest groups so you will build and manage internal and external relationships.

This role will require travel and work at locations across Scotland as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you

You should have experience of transport planning or a related subject, effective negotiation skills and experience in working with stakeholders and the public sector.

You will be skilled in advocacy, project management and implementation. You will have the ability to research and produce reports, as well as being able to coordinate activities with the wider NCN team and across the organisation.

Spotlight on Corruption is a small team with outsized impact that shines a light on the UK’s role in corruption at home and abroad.

We build the evidence base for reform through investigative research and extensive engagement with experts and frontline staff, and act as policy entrepreneurs, developing innovative and pragmatic solutions. In addition to this role, the current team consists of an Executive Director, Deputy Director, Senior Policy & Campaign Lead, Senior Advocacy Adviser, Senior Communications Advisor, and Senior Policy Researcher. What we are looking for

We are looking to recruit an experienced individual with a strong background in financial management, strategic planning and operational management, to play a central role within our small but dynamic team. About the Role

You will manage proposal submissions to Cord's key donors such as the EU, US State Department, GIZ, SDC, UN Peacebuilding Fund etc. You will be working closely with country teams to design and write proposals based on strong project designs developed in partnership with our local partners.

The role will also operate at a strategic level by managing Cord’s relationships with key donors and shaping how Cord communicates about its programmes and the added-value that Cord brings.

The Senior Funding and Development Officer plays a key role at DPI, working to ensure that income meets the organisation’s needs, and in support of achieving the strategic objectives through the development and management of fundraising and donor relations.

The Senior Funding and Development Officer is responsible for identifying and pursuing diverse funding streams; writing applications, reporting back and progress letters to meet existing and future funders’ guidelines; monitoring the implementation of projects to ensure funders’ guidelines are met; and liaising with funders and other stakeholders. The Senior Funding and Development Officer  works closely with the Finance Officer to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to donors.

The Senior Funding and Development Officer  collaborates with Programmes  Officers with regards to expenditure across budget lines to ensure compliance with grant contracts and grants periods. Senior Funding and Development Officer assists the Finance Manager with audit preparations of accounts at the end of the financial year and ensures the timely drafting of the Trustee report.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising and Grants Administration

• Leads the development and delivery of short, medium and long-term fundraising strategies for DPI
• Identifies and nurtures the successful implementation of appropriate grant funding and contracting
• Researches and assesses DPI’s eligibility in line with DPI strategy and donor criteria
• Produces and submits grants proposals, expressions of interest and donor reports
• Oversees compliance with funding requirement to ensure that deadlines and criteria for donor reporting are met, including financial reporting in close collaboration with the Finance Manager

Donor Relations

• Manages and develops external relationships as a representative of DPI, attending meetings and public events where necessary
• Follows up with potential donors to open up new funding opportunities
• Conducts regular updates with current donors to maintain and strengthen relationships
• Prepares and oversees the dissemination of external materials such as the Quarterly Update and Trustee Report to all relevant contacts

Financial Management
