Purpose of the Role
Faith underpins all our work and, in this key role the post holder will support the Christian journey by providing resources for personal prayer, spiritual guidance, corporate worship, religious education, and contribute to and participate in member and central charity led events and worship.
This role will explore and research issues about the Christian faith that are relevant to Mothers’ Union, keep the rest of the Charity up to date on issues in the Anglican communion and wider church – and input into the design of MU strategic aims, and work collaboratively with organisations externally on developing resources and implementing faith-based initiatives.
This role will also be responsible for managing Mothers’ Union’s Church-based membership and our Faith and Diocesan Chaplains member-based forums.
However, the focus for this role will be the proactive outreach, development, and maintenance of faith related relationships primarily in Britain and Ireland. This includes creating and managing high-level networks of Christian influencers, Bishops and the wider clergy, and key faith-based organisations to improve the profile, understanding and integration of Mothers' Union within the Anglican communion and ecumenically and to grow our reach, membership numbers, and influence.
A key remit of the Faith & Church Engagement Manager post will be to participate and contribute to our faith-based discussions and resources within Mothers’ Union. For this reason, the post holder must be a practicing Christian. (Occupational requirement Equality Act 2010).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Faith management and resources
1. To lead on the development of faith resources within Mothers’ Union (MU) and lead the strategic planning of all faith initiatives, theological rationales for Mothers’ Union specific initiatives and the overall mission.
2. To ensure that MU employees understand as part of the induction process and throughout their employment, how faith guides the work and relationships of MU.
3. Working with the Director of Membership, contribute to the strategic plan for all faith initiatives and clergy and church relations within Mothers’ Union.
4. To lead MU’s faith-based forums, to work where needed with the Worldwide Board and our Central Chaplain.
5. To facilitate theological underpinning to inform our work by exploring, researching, and gathering relevant data from various sources to keep abreast of new developments and initiatives.
6. To generate faith and church-based content for our website, magazine and newsletters and deliver MU’s prayer diary and oversea Midday Prayers.
7. To work with Mothers’ Union Enterprises on resources and products that have a faith dimension or spiritual content.
8. To work with our Worldwide President or designated member of the Worldwide Board to deliver faith and worship materials for Board and Worldwide Council meetings.
9. To receive, monitor and review MU’s worldwide resources to encourage and develop the contribution these make to the distinctive faith work of Mothers’ Union.
10. To maintain and develop all Faith Resources, identifying and developing new and uniquely MU resources to be added and archiving when required dated resources.
Membership Support – Britain and Ireland
1. To produce creative and accessible prayer and worship resources for use within our membership and more widely.
2. To identify the needs of members at every level for up-to-date information and resources on theology, faith, spirituality, worship/liturgy, Christian ethics and pastoral issues for group or individual use, and to commission a range of resources to meet those needs.
3. To build and manage external partnerships, within the Church and with other faith centred organisations, developing and promoting our work with these organisations.
4. Working closely with the Director of Membership and wider Membership team, to plan and lead faith aspects at conferences and meetings as requested.
5. To help design and implement projects and campaigns that provide an active engagement for our members, raise the public profile of Mothers’ Union, contribute to membership growth strategies and further the mission to promote the Christian faith and the wellbeing of families.
6. Work with the wider membership team on the design, implementation, and delivery of new membership growth models and manage existing membership models including Church-based Membership.
General
- To produce and provide reports and resources as required for the Chief Executive and Board.
 - To promote the Christian faith and prioritise the wellbeing of families with members, the clergy, external partners, wider faith organisations, and the Anglican church.
 - To further the promotion and integration of Mothers’ Union work with the clergy and within the Anglican Church and facilitate policy and advocacy support for MU campaigns.
 - To undertake any other duties as requested by the Director of Membership.
 
KEY COMPETENCIES
Experience/skills
1. Experience of writing accessible worship material and of being open to different worship styles.
2. Ability to produce theologically credible, accessible, valued, and impactful resources and documents.
3. Experience of engaging, developing and nurturing faith relationships at all levels, from members to boards, to very senior clergy.
4. Good word-processing skills- proficient at using MS Office in particular Word, Outlook, meeting platforms including Zoom and Teams and proactive social media management.
5. Research skills: Ability to collate, analyse, synthesise research data, ability to gather, manage and use a large quantity of information, research and reports effectively,

Work Location
This role will be based at our Head Office in Central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (Pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in Central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays.

To work as part of our Homeless Services Team, providing tailored support to asylum seekers and newly recognised refugees, helping them prepare for life in the UK, avoid crisis situations, and reduce the risk of homelessness and rough sleeping. The postholder will deliver one-to-one advice, guidance, and group information sessions within Greater Together Manchester’s Lifeskills programme, embedding support in trusted community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individual support to asylum seekers and new refugees, including:
	
- Advice and guidance on housing, welfare benefits, health, employment, and education.
 - Support with paperwork, applications, and referrals to statutory/voluntary services.
 - Crisis prevention planning for those leaving asylum accommodation.
 
 - Facilitate group information sessions at Lifeskills activities (e.g. football, workshops), covering:
	
- Rights and responsibilities after gaining refugee status.
 - Access to housing and homelessness prevention.
 - Health and wellbeing, including GP registration.
 - Financial literacy, banking, and benefits.
 - Employment and education pathways.
 
 - Build trust and positive relationships with participants, creating safe spaces for learning and support.
 - Act as a link between participants and local statutory/voluntary organisations, strengthening pathways into services.
 - Support individuals moved outside Manchester to connect with appropriate services in their new location.
 - Maintain accurate records of support provided and outcomes achieved, in line with grant monitoring requirements.

                    Cranstoun is an independent charity and leading provider of specialist treatment, harm reduction and recovery services to those affected by drug and alcohol use. This is an exciting opportunity to become a Key Worker within our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham.
We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. Our skilled and compassionate team work closely with people who use our services to change and save lives. We combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches and actively involve those we help in improving the design of the services we provide.
You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You will be responsible for delivering a range of elements of our substance use work including case management, assessments, care planning, the delivery of one-to-one interventions to include harm reduction and motivational work, group work, and engagement support as well as other associated duties. You need to be committed to supporting people who use our services to make positive changes to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider prison drug strategy.
Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance use, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of people who use our services to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service.
Experience of working with drug and alcohol use is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. Previous experience or knowledge of working with individuals on opiate replacement treatment, and/or involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.

About the role
In this rewarding role, you’ll work one-to-one with people experiencing mild to moderate mental health challenges. Turning Tides provides a range of homelessness services to around 1000 people a year in West Sussex and has a turnover of £8m. This includes community hubs, outreach services and supported housing.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Director to join our senior management team and shape the charity’s strategic future and ensure it is financially secure and well managed. This comes at an exciting time as we are in the process of registering as a Housing Association.
- Reporting to the Chief Executive, and additional responsibilities to the Finance and Audit Committee, and Board of Trustees.
 - Overall responsibility and accountability for Turning Tides’ finances, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and risk management that is compliant with all relevant accounting standards.
 - Key SMT member, working collaboratively to ensure accurate forecasting and value for money is achieved, and provide review and challenge on expenditure, efficiency and effectiveness.
 - Leadership of a well established finance team to include management of payroll, procurement, and companywide insurances.
 - Ensuring that Turning Tides is compliant with financial aspects of the Regulatory Code for Social Housing providers and Housing SORP
 - Continual process improvement and change management to create a cost-effective finance function to support the Charity.

About You
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CIPFA)
 - Have a breadth of finance experience, including good working knowledge of creating strategic financial strategy and business plans
 - Have a proven track record of effective leadership, including experience of managing small finance teams with turnover of around £8m
 - Have experience of influencing and building strong relationships with senior stakeholders to include working with Board and Finance and Audit Committee
 - Possess excellent IT skills and utilisation of Microsoft 365 applications, including Advanced Excel
 - Strong analytical skills with proven experience of using data to support decisions, identify trends and challenge

The Bilingual Resettlement Worker will provide culturally and linguistically tailored casework support to refugee households—including both adults and children—resettling in Hampshire under the UK Government Resettlement Programme. This includes the Afghan Resettlement Programme (ARP), the United Kingdom Resettlement Scheme (UKRS), Community Sponsorship, and other eligible schemes. The postholder will help families access essential services, understand their rights and entitlements, and build the confidence and knowledge needed to live independently in the UK. Support will be delivered in English and Dari/Pashto through one-on-one assistance and group sessions. This support will be provided within client’s homes, within partner officers and remotely.
Key Working Relationships
Position will reports to the Senior Resettlement Officer. This position will work closely with all staff involved in the delivery of the Hampshire Resettlement and Integration Support Service. This will include Senior Resettlement Officers, Bilingual Resettlement Officers, Resettlement Officers, ESOL Coordinator, Education Officer, Community and Engagement Officer and Project Officer. This position will work closely with staff at our partner organisation, Citizens Advice Rushmoor.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Support to households (70%)
· Provide practical casework support to refugee households, ensuring timely access to housing, income, healthcare, education, and other statutory services.
· Research, identify and outreach to services and resources that enable clients to meet their short and long-term goals and facilitate external referrals.
· Deliver group session support, including orientation sessions on life in the UK, both virtually and in person.
· Support the completion and regular review of individual Support Plans, using the Outcomes Star tool.
· Advocate, verbally and in written form, on behalf of clients with service providers and statutory agencies.
Key Administrative tasks (20%)
· Ensure timely and accurate compliance to all reporting requirements, including database management, case noting, and file maintenance. This will require completion of accurate and timely records and case notes in line with data protection and reporting requirements.
· Assist with project logistics, such as arranging essential items for clients, setting up the training rooms or events and preparing participant materials.
· Provide flexible administrative support to meet the project needs.
Ways of working (10%)
· Collaborate with partners, local councils, charities, schools, and diaspora organisations.
· Attend multi-agency coordination meetings and contribute to service development.
· Regularly gather client and partner feedback in order to assess programming needs and responsiveness through focus groups, key informant interviews and surveys.
· Carry out all the above in accordance with the aims, values and policies of International Rescue Committee, in particular in relation to safeguarding, confidentiality, impartiality and Equal Opportunities.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
· Strong written and verbal communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, partners and clients in both English and Dari/Pashto.**
· Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, with the confidence to navigate and maintain a wide range of internal and external partnerships.
· Good IT skills, including proficiency in using Microsoft Office and experience leading meetings or trainings via online platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.**
· Ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.**
· Ability to work flexibly both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
· Ability to work in line with confidentiality and safeguarding standards.

Experience:
· Minimum two years of related experience, paid or voluntary, working with refugees, asylum seekers or other vulnerable populations in Hampshire.**
· Proven ability to plan and deliver group workshops and educational sessions in diverse, multi-lingual and cross-cultural environments.
· Experience handling confidential documents and sensitive information.**
· Lived experience of forced migration, resettlement, or navigating support systems as a refugee or asylum seeker.
· Prior experience of using a client relationship management system.
