The River Great Ouse Valley Wetland Arc Project 

The Parks Trust has been awarded £213,000 from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to create a landscape-scale masterplan for the River Great Ouse Valley Wetland Arc. This wonderful landscape spans 355 hectares (approximately 500 football pitches) along the River Great Ouse in the north of Milton Keynes. The Wetland Arc project will help The Parks Trust to plan for a future of nature recovery along the river valley and encourage community participation in and activation of the landscape.

The Wetland Arc project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery Players, we have been able to secure funding for a Project Officer to deliver project events and activities.

Communications Officer

About the Role

The Communications Officer plays an integral role in helping to communicate and execute the organisations mission. Key responsibilities

• Create fresh, engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter) and LinkedIn in line with the Communications strategy;

• Work closely with the fundraising and volunteer teams to capture their real-life stories and inspirations and spin this into newsworthy content for our audiences;

• Maintain our image and video library so we always have brilliant content at our fingertips.
• Understand how to access and produce data for reports and analytics.
• Managing and overseeing the Communications calendar and inbox, ensuring we stay on top of trending and seasonal points of interest. Responding to media and external enquiries.

About You

We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, a flair for creativity and the ability to

manage multiple projects. This person will have: a background in a Communications or Marketing

role, strong interest in mental health, the ability to write for specific audiences and understands the

importance of a brand and its key values. This person will be confident using Canva, Photoshop (or

something similar) and CMS systems, specifically Squarespace.

Job description

We are seeking to appoint a team player with a background in education or programme delivery,  who is well-organised and an efficient administrator, with excellent inter-personal skills. They must be intellectually curious with strong research abilities, and are confident and articulate communicators. Alignment with our ethos of seeking to address social division through constructive dialogue is essential.

This role will be responsible for managing the delivery of our cohort programmes including currently: Youth & Democracy, Rule of Law, and Gen Z and the City. There is scope for the development of new programme areas, including working with the arts and our public history project, as we respond to contemporary challenges.

Job Description:

· Work with the Programme team, to design and deliver educational resources, workshops and conferences including our Youth & Democracy, Rule of Law, and intergenerational change programme areas;

· Deliver Exploring Ethics and other Cumberland Lodge workshops as requested;

· Identify potential partners and collaborate with stakeholders related to programme activity;

· Produce funding proposals;

· Produce and/or editing briefing papers and reports when required;

· Produce digital content for online learning and engage regularly with the community engagement platform, including identifying topics, producing webinars and podcasts;

· Act as Duty Officer for 8 weekends (involving, if required, giving welcome talks, leading Exploring Ethics Sessions, and escorting groups to the Royal Chapel). Accommodation is provided on these weekends.

· Attend departmental, staff, and ad hoc planning meetings

You’ll have:

Essential Criteria:

· Undergraduate degree in a relevant social science or humanities discipline;

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Based at Cumberland Lodge in Windsor Great Park. (Applicants should be aware that Cumberland Lodge is not easily accessible by public transport). 

Hybrid working available, with a minimum 3 days a week in the office.

The role requires flexible working.  There will be some weekend and evening duties, including programme events, facilitating workshops for visiting groups, talks and tours of the Lodge (shared on a rota basis). Accommodation will be provided on site when evening work is required.

The Digital Marketing Officer will play a key role in delivering and managing WAF’s digital content and channels. About the Charity

The Wildlife Aid Foundation (WAF) is an animal charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of British wildlife. We are passionate about protecting the future for our native species.

We run one of the UK’s busiest wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centres. We deal with over 20,000 wildlife-related incidents, each year. It’s a 24/7 job. On any given day, our rescuers will be scaling trees to rescue stranded baby owls or cutting fox cubs from garden netting. Our vets will be performing life-saving surgery, while our carers look after hundreds of patients and young babies being nursed in our rehab centre.

We rely on a small army of over 300 volunteers and run popular outreach and education programmes that help people take actions to make the world a better place for us and our animal neighbours in the natural world.

The Role: Digital Marketing Officer

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

• Manage WAF’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, YouTube, TikTok), including scheduling daily content, posts, stories, and reels.

Role Overview: Knowledge in grant-funding, capacity building, organisational support

We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Charity Support Officer to help deliver AWN’s mission. You will be the first point of contact for grassroots charities, supporting them to strengthen their organisations and improve their chances of securing grant funding by offering practical guidance, signposting, and building trusted relationships that help them grow in confidence and resilience. The role includes helping organisations strengthen governance and compliance, sharing information on grant-funding opportunities, and supporting them to identify challenges and develop practical solutions.
 
The non-profits you will support work across a wide range of areas for example: women, health and wellbeing, youth, homelessness and poverty, family services, sports, faith groups, crime and gangs, prisoners and ex-offenders, refugees and asylum seekers, drug addiction, older people and rehabilitation, and many more. 
 
Bringing a strong awareness of the barriers facing small charities particularly Muslim-led groups, will be key to helping them build long-term sustainability and impact. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact for charities and community groups, managing a varied caseload and balancing priorities. 

• Carry out needs assessments to understand organisations strengths, challenges, and funding needs, and develop clear action plans. 

• Provide tailored support, including health checks on governance, compliance, finances, and funding readiness, offering recommendations and signposting to specialist services (e.g., Cranfield Trust, CVS, Charity Excellence etc). 

• Advise on funding opportunities, strategy, and application readiness, with referrals to bid-writing support where needed. 

• Deliver workshops, webinars, events, and one-to-one sessions to build skills, knowledge, and confidence of UK grassroots organisations. 

• Work collaboratively with organisations and AWN colleagues (including via the triage and referral system) to identify challenges and develop practical, sustainable solutions. 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with charities, funders, and sector partners across the voluntary, public, and charity sectors. 

• Represent AWN at external events, conferences, and meetings, helping to organise and deliver events linked to your work. 

• Keep accurate records on the CRM, gather feedback, write case studies, and contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and service development. 

• Support AWN’s communications by contributing updates for the website and social media. 

What We’re Looking For 

We’re looking for someone who is approachable, empathetic, and motivated to make a difference. Alongside these personal qualities, you’ll bring a good understanding of the charity sector and the challenges facing small non-profits across the UK, for UK Muslim-led organisations. You’ll have exceptional knowledge of governance, compliance, and funding pathways, and the confidence to guide organisations towards growth, resilience, and long-term impact. 

Essential Criteria 

• 3+ years’ experience within the UK charity sector (domestic, not solely international). 

• Strong understanding of charity governance, compliance, and the UK funding and grant-making landscape. 

• Insight into the needs and challenges of small and grassroots non-profits, with awareness of the systemic barriers affecting Muslim-led organisations. 

• Experience supporting or advising charities, community groups, or local networks to build capacity and resilience. 

• Ability to work collaboratively with organisations, offering constructive and practical guidance. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in public speaking and engaging a wide range of stakeholders. 

• Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. 

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.  

• Comfortable working autonomously and as part of a small team, with minimal supervision. 

• Confident using technology to deliver support and manage work effectively, including CRM systems, Microsoft Teams, and other digital tools. 

• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
