Role Overview
We are seeking a Voluntary Assistant to the Executive Assistant, who will directly support the Executive Assistant to the Founder in the day-to-day coordination, administration, and communications of the CIC.
You will play a vital role in helping the team stay organised, efficient, and connected as we expand our operations, events, and fundraising programmes.

We’re looking for a number of Community Connectors over the age of 18 years old, based across various locations in Wales.

East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are looking for a volunteer to lead partnership development and community outreach efforts for East London Waterworks Park. This role focuses on building and nurturing relationships with learning bodies to increase the opportunity for partnership opportunities.
The role would include:
- Researching and identifying new opportunities for environmental learning initiatives

This will in turn provide a sense of stewardship over the land once the park is created and student's ideas have been built into the park. Creating learning projects with educational institutions will also help our charity with the strategy to buy the land through showing the value of our environmental education programme before we create the park.

Dougie Mac Hospice is looking to appoint new Trustees to join our Board and support the effective leadership, governance and long-term sustainability of our organisation.
For over 50 years, Dougie Mac has provided specialist, compassionate care for local people living with life-limiting conditions. Today, we are a multi-faceted, all-age hospice supporting children, young people, adults and families across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire. With over 500 staff, 700 volunteers, and an annual cost of more than £23 million, strong governance has never been more important.
We are seeking individuals who share our commitment to our values — Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence — and who can bring insight, challenge and support to help us deliver our vision of being a centre of excellence in palliative and end-of-life care.
What Does a Trustee Do?
As a Trustee of Dougie Mac, you will play a key role in ensuring the hospice is well-governed, financially resilient and able to meet the needs of our community now and in the future. Trustees collectively:

For the people they help, our volunteer drivers provide a friendly face and that personal touch to brighten their day and help get them to where they need to be.
Our drivers can become a regular part of someone’s life and for some their journeys together may be the only chance an RNIB customer has had to get out of their home for some time.

We are looking for team members who can commit for a minimum of 10 weeks, with adaptable profiles and who have the enthusiasm and energy we need to provide support in various areas across the organisation.
In this generalist role, you will find yourself responsible for a variety of tasks, helping to ensure that both our programme activities and day-to-day operations run smoothly. Your role would include:
The possible tasks included below are not exhaustive or rigidly defined; an exact role profile is dependent on the skill set of individual applicants. An average day might see you talking to students in a camp to tell them about a new class, or supporting the writing of a grant proposal. Tasks could loosely fall within 4 key areas:
Programmes

Supporting programme coordinators in maintaining the day to day running of their activities with the Youth or Adult Education Programmes

Supporting our children’s teachers or workshop facilitators in the planning or delivery of classes or excursions outside of camps

Communicating key messages about our programmes to our students in camps
Admin, Finance & Logistics

Supporting our management team in liaising with external partners

Maintaining organisation-wide financial processes

Coordinating the arrival and housing of incoming team members
Grants & Partnerships

Supporting in the identification of relevant grants

Supporting in grant writing activities

Social Media Volunteer (South London)
This is an excellent volunteering opportunity for somebody who wants to enhance and develop their digital and social media skills whilst helping animals in need.
Overview of opportunity
As a volunteer Social Media Volunteer, you would play a massive part in ensuring that our branches activities are promoted online whilst creating a positive public profile on social media. You would play a significant role in gaining more awareness and support for animal welfare and helping us come to the aid of more animals in need.
About the RSPCA
Founded in 1824 we have been saving animals for almost 200 years and are proud to be the oldest welfare charity around. It has always been our vision to live in a world where all animals are respected and treated with compassion, so our volunteers and employees work tirelessly to ensure that all animals can live free from pain and suffering.

The RSPCA South London Branch
The South London Branch is one of the branches of RSPCA, but we are also a separately registered charity looking after animals in our local area. Much of the animal welfare work of RSPCA is carried out through local branches, which is run by volunteers who have the support of the National Society of RSPCA.
Volunteer Social Media Coordinator responsibilities
- Researching potential influencers, community groups, and online accounts that align with the branch’s mission and values.
- Identifying opportunities for collaboration or content sharing to strengthen the branch’s online presence and support base.
- Monitoring social media trends and gathering examples of engaging content that could highlight the branch in a positive light.
- Tracking audience feedback and online conversations to provide insights that help shape the branch’s outreach strategy.
