CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit adoption agencies across the UK who specialise in finding homes for children in care. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. The programme has developed a strong reputation for attracting a range of subject experts to deliver cost effective, engaging and useful training. The full programme is listed on the CVAA UK website and inlcudes topics such as LGBTQ+ parenting; therapy for children; identity formation; racism and anti-racism; parenting courses; theraplay and many more.
Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the administration and delivery of the programme. Initially fixed term, it is anticipated that this post will become permanent. We are keen to have someone joiun us as soon as possible.
The Training Manager will work with the Head of Practice Development to ensure that the courses are full, supported, delivered effectively and evaluated. Part of the role will also be to source new trainers and support the creation of the programme into 2025.
The CVAA team work remotely across the UK so location of the postholder is not a barrier to recruitment as long as long as they can travel occasionally and come into London for team days. The team is small, diverse and dynamic. Experience of project management or delivery of training or events is more important than knowledge of adoption or children's social care. We would warmly welcome an application from people who have lived experience of adoption or fostering, and candidates from the Global Majority.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and will need to undertake a DBS due to the sensitive nature of the work of CVAA. We require three references, one of whom can be personal. Summary of Role
Work in collaboration with the Head of Service to manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Foodbank. You will manage and support a team of volunteers, leading by example to ensure the Foodbank operates smoothly and the continuity of delivery standards within the guidelines of EFB policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working or volunteering in a Foodbank. They will be a strong leader and be hard-working, organised, collaborative and confident. They must be passionate about tackling poverty, deprivation and injustice and have a non-judgemental and positive attitude towards people who require support.

A daily lunch service is at the heart of our day-centre delivery for young people experiencing homelessness. For many of our young people, lunch is their only hot, nutritious meal of the day. We are looking for a passionate Chef to work independently in our kitchen to deliver a daily meal for up to 100 young people, staff and volunteers. You will have responsibility for planning, preparing and serving food that makes a real difference to people's lives. You will need to have experience of catering to large numbers and managing professional kitchen paperwork, and the drive to maintain high food hygiene standards. New Horizon Youth Centre runs a busy day centre from Monday to Friday, providing basic needs to young people experiencing homelessness and a one-stop-shop for housing advice, youth work activities, counselling, jobs, education and training support. The Services Manager (Day Centre) is a brand new role for the organisation. They will work as part of the existing Youth Work Team to provide vital additional capacity and expertise to respond to the significantly increased demand we have been experiencing. This role is primarily focused on delivering our frontline day centre service each week. You will spend around 2-3 days per week frontline as our Duty Manager ensuring the smooth running of the day centre. You’ll also be responsible for coordinating our weekly rota, line managing the team, overseeing our Locums, Students and Volunteers programme, supporting with donations and day centre stock, and delivering staff training . You should be passionate about supporting young people who are unsafe or facing homelessness, be able to motivate a multi-disciplinary team of staff and have the energy to problem solve in a fast-paced environment on a daily basis.
Salary: £37,024 - £41,600

The Services Manager (Housing) will primarily focus on the managing New Horizon's Housing Advice service, delivered both from the day centre and remotely. You will work with the Head of Services to ensure the service responds holistically to young people with multiple needs or barriers. You should be experienced in the housing and homelessness sector, be a passionate advocate for young people. and have the ability to motivate a team to deliver high quality services in a fast-paced environment. You should be skilled in partnership management and able to collaborate to identify new housing solutions for young people.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. The Services Manager will be the key operational lead for the Alliance, and oversee successful delivery of housing casework services to young people fleeing violence and exploitation who are referred in. You should have experience of working in services that support young people fleeing violence or who are impacted by the criminal justice system, and have a solid understanding of housing options for young people under 25. You should be exceptionally well organised and have excellent partnership management skills.
