About the role

As a Peer Support Worker, you will use your skills and experience to work directly with people with mental health issues in group and one-to-one settings. You will support and encourage participants to identify their own strengths, triggers and life goals and co-produce individualised plans to help achieve them.

Hours

Part-time, 28 hours per week - 4 shifts (working evenings on a rota basis, 4.00pm - 11.30pm).

About you

You will need to have personal, lived experience of a mental health issue, as well as experience of working with people with mental health needs, excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the key difficulties and challenges faced by people on their recovery journey.

The ideal candidate

To be considered for this role, you should be able to:

• Navigating the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, working with people who have a higher complexity in substance use and need additional support from multiple services.
• To work in a trauma informed and person centred way, empowering the client to make informed choices around their care and support
• Conducting street outreach with partner agencies to identify and locate people on your caseloads, who are sleeping rough.
• Managing a caseload of clients
• Attending partner agency meetings relating to rough sleeping & hotspots in the borough.
• Providing targeted harm reduction advice and information to individuals around the risks associated with drug or alcohol use and supporting people to improve their health and wellbeing.
• Signposting individuals to other support services inclusive of substance use, based on individual need.
• Removing the stigma of homelessness and for those who use substances and/or alcohol
• Breaking the barriers of which people experiencing homelessness face, when trying to access needed services

Queen’s Crescent Community Association (QCCA) runs one of the largest and most diverse older people’s services in Camden. We operate in the borough’s most deprived area and annually support around 300 people aged 55+ to live happier, healthier, more connected lives.

The new co-ordinator will be responsible for delivering a full programme of activities.

We are looking for someone who will:

• Lead, manage and deliver the programme for people aged 55+ in Gospel Oak and the surrounding areas.

• Line-manage sessional and part-time staff, overseeing HR, payroll and supervision.

• Recruit, manage and supervise volunteers, ensuring they are actively engaged in designing and delivering services.

• Prioritise outreach and promote the programme locally, building positive relationships with older people, care homes, sheltered housing, health centres and other partners.

• Deliver regular and accurate reporting, including surveys, consultations and data for board meetings, funders and fundraising.

• Plan and deliver a sustainable programme, balancing free activities with occasional fee-paying or volunteer-led sessions through creative thinking.

• Organise specialist talks, workshops, lunches, coffee mornings and activity refreshments, ensuring all supplies, volunteers and logistics are in place.

• Lead on key administrative duties, including registration forms, attendance registers, CRM updates, progress reports, income and expenditure records, Square Up entries, Equals card spreadsheets, petty cash, payroll hours and the Blip database.

• Plan monthly outings, design the monthly events calendar, maintain the mailing list, and ensure all activity reflects good practice models, quality standards and integration with QCCA’s wider services.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate School Youth Worker to support our schools programme for Oasis@Knights. This is an opportunity to run engaging and informative group mentoring sessions for young people aged 10-11 in the Lambeth area. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering these sessions, as well as liaising with local schools and promoting Knights Youth Centre to the wider community. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

1. To deliver group workshops, including games, discussions, as well as offering emotional and informative support for children aged 10-11.

2. To represent Knights Youth Centre with teachers, parents, partners, funders, and key agencies as necessary.

3. To develop strong, professional relationships with young people.

4. To build and maintain relationships with local schools, including school staff, teachers and occasionally parents.

5. To assist the Oasis KYC team in recording and measuring the impact services have on the young people. (Most significant change stories, Outcomes Star model or similar)

6. To support the team in ensuring services delivered are relevant and accessible.

7. To undertake any other tasks relevant to the post contained within the Centre’s Service plan or individual work plan.

8. To be sympathetic to the aims of Knights Youth Centre and to work within the professional boundaries and policies at Knights Youth Centre.

The successful post holder must have:

· Proven experience of working with young people in a youth club or school setting.

· Experience of running engaging workshops for young people, that promote life skills and positive wellbeing.

· Experience of working with SEN and at-risk young people

· An understanding of the challenges impacting families and young people in Lambeth

· Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.

· Knowledge of safeguarding practices and experience working with young people in challenging environments.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic supervisor or team leader to take up a full-time role within our organisation as a Project Supervisor to be part of our small and dedicated team. The role will be based in Southwark as well as potential for wider London working as you will be part several innovative housing projects in London supporting vulnerable households to sustain their tenancies. As well as a team line manager, you will be maintaining and developing partnership with the Council’s housing officers, solicitors, landlords, community services, social prescribers, and mental health support workers to ensure tailored support can be offered for each client. The objectives of these programmes are to avoid evictions, sustain tenancies, increase employment opportunities, improve wellbeing, and increase educational outcomes. About you   

We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in staff management and project leadership, knowledge of housing polices, and with proven experience working with individuals who have complex needs. 

You will be responsible for managing and developing partnerships, supporting data collection for reports and monitoring, and contributing to quality assurance processes. In addition, you will hold a small caseload, providing direct, holistic support to individuals as part of your role. 

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and highly organised. You should be confident working independently, with a genuine passion for driving positive change. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to provide holistic support and think creatively to find solutions. 

You will have:

• Experience leading and supervising other support workers, or volunteers, including delegation, training, and mentoring.

About the role

As the Engagement and Assessment Team Leader, your team will be the first point of contact for someone who comes to Crisis for help to prevent or end their homelessness. You will be responsible for

• Ensuring that your team:
• • Welcomes them to the service on site and at partner agencies (if applicable), listening carefully and non-judgementally to their story,

• • Complete thorough Crisis and Mainstay assessments using a trauma informed approach,

• • Agree realistic options and the support needed to assist them to prevent their homelessness or a pathway out of homelessness helping them formulate a holistic plan take the initial steps, where necessary.

• • Effectively manage a caseload of members who require short term intervention to end their homelessness in a timely manner.

• Supervision and line management of your team/volunteers, including rota management to ensure effective service delivery.

• The initial contact space and service everyone contacting the Skylight will experience, ensuring that it is a psychologically informed approach

• Holding a small caseload, as required.

• Ensuring that you effectively integrate with the Crisis Client Services team on a day-to-day basis; to make collaborative, consistent and Psychologically Informed relationships with members, colleagues, volunteers and partners.

About you

• Excellent knowledge of relevant homelessness, housing and welfare legislation
• Experience of working with individuals affected by homelessness or with complex and multiple support needs
• Experience of providing excellent customer service with a commitment to deliver the highest standard of customer care
• Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team in a busy and potentially pressured environment, dealing with challenging situations and behaviours with a calm and confident approach to reach a positive resolution.
• Proven line management experience including managing employee performance, conducting supervisions, effective delegation and supporting professional development
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to communicate with a range of stakeholders.

You will lead the full sales process from start to finish. This includes generating leads, responding to enquiries, securing bookings and overseeing the delivery of workshops and training. You will be proactive, motivated and confident working with a high degree of initiative. Working closely with the Director of Education, you will help build an effective sales operation that ensures thousands of young people and teachers benefit from high-quality oracy opportunities. 

About the role and responsibilities 

We are looking for someone who can: 

• Own the lifecycle of sales of our education products, building positive relationships to ensure repeat business 

• Collaborate with the ESU Marketing Team and Director of Education to develop the messaging and assets needed to promote our offers 

• Respond to and follow-up on leads and warm conversations to move prospects through the sales pipeline

• Implement plans designed to generate leads of sales to schools (secondary and primary), Multi-Academy Trusts (MATs), and other partners

• Manage the delivery of the workshops by being point of contact for Lead Teachers, appointing freelance Oracy Leaders to deliver the work and providing communication, support and resources as necessary 

• Build the ESU network, connecting with teachers and MAT contacts to generate sales. This includes proactive outreach to new schools and MATs for new business, as well as working with existing clients.

• Use Salesforce to manage all programme delivery including tracking all account communication, reporting on sales pipelines including new business and renewals

• Devise the sales strategies and execute the plans to generate leads and interest from international schools 

• Collect data for monitoring (student surveys; case studies; teacher surveys) 

• Work with our pool of delivery staff (Oracy Leaders). This would include clear communications before and after workshop delivery, booking staff onto workshops, liaising with finance and HR when necessary.

THE CHARITY

Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 35 and three quarters of those who die by suicide are men. James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering clinical services. We are a charity currently offering free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London and Newcastle.

James’ Place was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts but didn’t find it.   

James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. We offer men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.  We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centres and in our outside spaces, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families. We have so far treated over 4,300 men who might otherwise have been unable to access the support they desperately need.

In early 2026 we will be opening our fourth centre in Birmingham. Our new centre in Birmingham will be there to support suicidal men living in the West Midlands.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are recruiting for a team of clinicians to deliver our clinical proven intervention at our new James’ Place centre in Birmingham, due to open in early 2026. As a Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist, you will work alongside the Head of Centre to manage and support the clinical team in delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. You will be an experienced mental health professional or therapist with demonstrable interest in suicide prevention and team management and leadership. You will support men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis and their supporter(s), delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. Successful applicants will be joining a new team at a pivotal time and will have the opportunity to shape the local culture at James’ Place Birmingham. Training and support will be provided by the Head of Centre in Birmingham and the wider James’ Place team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Senior Clinical Duties

• Work as a duty therapist to triage and assess suitability of James’ Place referrals daily
• Take full clinical responsibility of the men under James’ Place care, as a co-leader of the clinical team and in consultation with Head of Centre
• Lead and support peer support sessions, caseload discussions and reflective practice with the team
• Create an environment in which confidentiality, privacy and dignity are respected and be clear with clients about limits of confidentiality
• Lead on the creation and facilitation of a Peer Support Group once James’ Place Birmingham is well-established
• Deputise for the Head of Centre when required

Clinical

• Conduct initial Welcome Assessments with men in a suicidal crisis, assessing risk and the suitability of the James’ Place intervention and co-producing effective safety plans
• Deliver our therapeutic intervention, building trust and exploring the reasons for crisis
• Use the Lay Your Cards on the Table intervention to encourage men to talk about and explore their feelings, attitudes and behaviours and develop positive coping strategies
• Escalate care to appropriate services when necessary, including emergency services and secondary mental health teams
• Deliver one-off guidance sessions to supporters of men under the James’ Place care
• Work collaboratively with other professionals to coordinate comprehensive care
• Undergo clinical supervision with a qualified supervisor to reflect on clinical work and raise any issues or concerns arising from work
• Remain up to date with developments in law, theories and research
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
• Complete session notes in a timely and effective manner
• Participate in continuous professional development and engage in training provided both internally and externally
• Support the Clinical Administration team as and when necessary

Leadership and Management

• Manage, support and lead Suicide Prevention Therapists, encouraging staff to develop and grow
• Conduct regular probation reviews, monthly 1:1s and annual appraisals with staff
• Conduct therapist case reviews to ensure work is completed safely, effectively and in accordance with James’ Place policies and procedures
• Confidently identify and sensitively communicate areas for development and conduct performance management reviews when necessary

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The role requires someone with a relevant qualification who can confidently lead a team and support men experiencing a suicidal crisis. You will need to be able to effectively conduct risk assessments and deliver our clinically proven therapeutic intervention to ensure client safety. Strong therapeutic communication, the ability to work autonomously and teamwork skills are also essential to this role, as well as the ability to build trust and hope.
