About the Role
Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week/ 24 months FTC
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Internal Audit to establish and lead a new, independent internal audit function at MAP. Reporting functionally to the Audit & Risk Governance Committee and administratively to the CEO, this role provides high-level assurance on the effectiveness of MAP’s governance, risk management, and control frameworks across both UK and international operations.
As a standalone position, the role will shape MAP’s internal audit vision, lead audits across all areas of the charity’s work (including field visits to oPt, Egypt, and Lebanon), and play a critical role in safeguarding MAP’s integrity, transparency, and performance.
About You
You’ll bring: A relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIA, CMIIA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
Significant experience (5+ years) in internal audit or risk roles, with a track record of leading audits and engaging with senior leadership. Knowledge of UK charity regulation, compliance, and audit best practices.
Strong analytical, reporting, and influencing skills. Integrity, independence, and cultural sensitivity
Field experience or work in humanitarian or NGO settings is desirable, as is fluency in Arabic.

Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse (AAFDA) was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003. Each year, more than 200 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide or suicide or sudden death following domestic abuse. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after fatal domestic abuse.

What the job involves
We’re looking for an Awareness, Engagement and Participation Senior Officer to join our Health Services, Equity and Improvement directorate.
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our work to raise awareness and build stronger connections with those most at risk of prostate cancer. You’ll support our community engagement and participation efforts, making sure the voices of men affected by prostate cancer, and those at risk, shape what we do and how we do it. A big part of the role involves working directly with individuals and communities, helping them feel empowered and supported to get involved and make a real impact.
You’ll be the main point of contact for involving patients in projects, manage the day-to-day running of our Patient Advisory Group, and oversee our community inbox to make sure requests are responded to quickly and effectively and help to triage support requests.
Working with volunteers is another key part of the role. You’ll recruit and guide volunteers raising awareness in their communities, helping to deliver onboarding, training and ongoing support. You’ll work closely with our Volunteer Experience team to ensure everyone has a positive and meaningful experience.
You’ll regularly attend community events and find impactful ways to share our messages – particularly with communities affected by health inequalities. You’ll also help measure and evaluate the impact of our awareness and engagement work.
This is a rewarding role where you’ll meet volunteers and supporters and see the impact of our work first-hand. Together, we’re raising awareness of prostate cancer, giving men the knowledge of their risk and the power to act on it.

To be successful in this role you’ll be passionate about public health, awareness raising and working with people with lived experience. Patient involvement is a core principle of our organisation so understanding how that can inform and shape the charity’s work is essential.
You’ll be an excellent communicator (both in person and in writing) and able to engage clearly across a range of channels and audiences. Strong project management skills are essential, as you’ll often be juggling different tasks and working with a range of people, including patient groups, volunteers and colleagues across the charity.
You’ll be comfortable building relationships with communities, volunteers and partners, and have a good understanding of how health inequalities affect access to healthcare. Experience of working directly with communities most affected by these inequalities will be a real advantage. You’ll also be able to think creatively about how to raise awareness and broaden participation beyond traditional volunteering roles.

GUCE Communications Manager Role
Community Energy is gaining momentum nationally, where people are increasingly coming together to take control of their own energy supplies. Grand Union Community Energy (GUCE, pronounced “juice”) is looking to see communities along the Grand Union canal in Hertfordshire enjoy a clean and resilient energy system that benefits all. We develop, support and promote renewable energy and energy efficiency projects for local communities from Watford to Tring, and build householder resilience by helping them reduce their bills and energy use.
We are seeking a Communications Manager for one day per week. Depending on the skills of the applicant the same individual could also cover aspects of other roles we are looking to fill.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a person with experience in communications and marketing campaigns to join our small but expanding team. We are looking to extend reach, build our network and develop a stronger online presence across our different project areas.
The role will include the development and execution of a Communications and Marketing Strategy for the organisation. Alongside the strategic planning of our comms work, the role will also include creating materials and content for campaigns to engage members of the public, potential partners, funders and investors.
As our Communications Manager you will play a leading role in delivering our contribution to the two-year National Lottery funded project ‘Community Energy People’.
Key responsibilities will include:

Developing and executing a Communications and Marketing Strategy, to build GUCE's brand, support existing project events, hiring, volunteer opportunities, and initiatives.

Assisting the Development Officer and PM in communications to stakeholders and the public for projects, using the REGEN guide as the basis.

Ensuring a steady flow of social media content that supports our projects and campaigns, on various platforms; mainly Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Creating and sharing engaging content, including text images and videos that promote GUCE and its key values. This may include attending in-person events on occasion to capture content.

Ensuring that the social media strategy aligns with GUCE goals and values

Being aware of current social media trends and evaluating how GUCE can best participate

Monitoring client engagement and interacting with clients and local groups on social media posts and platforms

Terms and Conditions
Salary: Pro-rated salary for 1 day per week, £7,000 to £9,500 per annum (£34,000 to £47,000 full time equivalent) depending on experience plus 3% pension contribution.
Hours: 1 day per week (7.5 hours). The working hours can be flexible.
Location: Home-working, ideally within the GUCE catchment area from Watford to Tring.
You will need to travel to meet stakeholders, attend relevant meetings and visit potential sites. You may be called upon to work outside office hours.
Contractual arrangements: 12 months fixed term with the opportunity to extend, subject to 3 months’ probation.
There is a notice period of four weeks from both sides
Holidays: The equivalent of 28 days per annum excluding Bank Holidays, pro-rata for the part-time nature of the post.
