About the role

We are looking for an exceptional Programme Officer with experience of managing an integrated NTD programme within an international context, to ensure the successful implementation of the Reaching the Last Mile (RLM) programme. This groundbreaking project will strengthen health systems in Burkina Faso that work to eliminate river blindness (onchocerciasis) and lymphatic filariasis (LF). As Programme Officer, you will be integral to the planning, delivery and success of this work, whilst also supporting a range of other Sightsavers programmes and projects in Burkina Faso.

As NTD Programme Officer RLM, your key duties will include:

Supporting Project Management

• Work with partners to develop annual plans and ensure effective implementation
• Timely and high-quality reporting regarding field visits and action-follow ups
• Develop high quality case studies as part of reporting and for fundraising

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Assist the Senior Program manager and country teams in developing a system for monitoring and evaluating NTD programme performance.
• Provide direction and support to assist country research teams and help them to identify operational research opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of NTD elimination efforts.

Partnership Management

• Identify and maintain effective partnerships
• Partner capacity building

Communications, Learning and Influencing

• Coordinate, consolidate and disseminate programme learning across Sightsavers and beyond
• Promote and publicise success stories and case studies

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in programme management, technical knowledge of NTDs, excellent Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning skills as well as a detailed understanding of the Burkina Faso health system.

This role involves national travel to implementation sites (approximately 40%). Robes is a small but mighty charity tackling homelessness across Southwark and Lambeth. Working with over 600 volunteers, churches and community partners, we deliver life-changing services to vulnerable people on the streets.

About You

You're an experienced Fundraiser with a track record securing grants and managing relationships with trusts, foundations and major donors. You're strategic and thorough – you understand relationship-building, can write compelling applications, and articulate impact clearly.

The Role

You'll lead fundraising strategy across multiple income streams, focusing on trusts, foundations, corporate partnerships and major donors. You'll manage the full fundraising cycle from research and relationship-building through stewardship.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you’ll execute our new fundraising strategy, support our growth plans, research funding opportunities, write strong grant applications, manage a pipeline of major donor prospects, plan our 20th anniversary campaign, and provide quarterly progress reports.

With three days a week focused on foundation and corporate partnerships work, a full-time role would typically include one day on legacy work and one day on community events.

You bring at least three years' fundraising experience, ideally in a charity setting. You're skilled at grant writing, relationship management and strategic planning. You have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. You're proactive, flexible and genuinely motivated by mission.

THE ROLE:
The Service Manager plays a central role in ensuring that every young person who engages with Empire Fighting Chance receives high-quality, personalised support.

In this role, you will ensure that every young person who connects with Empire Fighting Chance receives an outstanding experience. You will oversee the full journey of young people through our programmes. From referral and assessment to onboarding, scheduling and progression. You will ensure their experience is safe and impactful.

You will champion a safety-aware culture across the organisation, embedding safeguarding into everyday practice and leading on case management and risk mitigation. This role is key to building a strong operational foundation for our Centre of Excellence in Bristol. Through strategic management, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement, you will help shape an environment where young people feel safe, supported and empowered.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
1. Manage the recruitment of young people

Accountable for the recruitment of suitable young people onto the programmes of Empire Fighting Chance.

• Implement a robust referral criteria process to ensure that Empire Fighting Chance targets the young people that it best supports.Contribute to the development of a ‘bank’ of recommended organisations to share with those young people who do not meet the charity’s referral criteria.

2. Manage the triaging and scheduling of young people
Accountable for ensuring young people participate in the right programme with the right coach mentor or therapist at the right time.

• Improve the prioritisation criteria to ensure that the charity fast tracks individuals who are most in need of support.
• Identify new approaches to managing the charity’s waiting list, ensuring the programmes can meet their needs and offer the correct resources to support them.
• Implement our assessment process to ensure Empire Fighting Chance gains a full and accurate understanding of each young person’s needs and circumstances.
• Implement a process to match young people with the most appropriate Empire Fighting Chance programme and coach mentor/therapist.
• Strengthen the scheduling process of young people’s programmes at Empire Fighting Chance.

3. Manage a safety aware culture
Accountable for developing of a culture where safeguarding and safety are embedded into every aspect
of our work.

• Champion a safety-aware culture across the organisation, embedding safeguarding into everyday practice.
  Be a key part of the safeguarding team and ensure robust safeguarding practices are implemented across all areas of the charity.
• Lead on safeguarding case management, including referrals, reporting, and liaison with external agencies.
• Identify, assess and mitigate safeguarding risks in programme delivery and organisational operations.

4. Manage young people’s ‘Empire Experience’
Accountable for Empire Fighting Chance giving young people the best possible experience (outside of the delivery of programmes).

• Identify and implement improvements to The Mill boxing gym to ensure that young people feel safe and have an enjoyable experience (while retaining the look and feel of a real boxing gym). 
• Oversee the onboarding process to ensure that young people have the best possible start to their Empire experience.
• Work alongside the Head of Programmes and Community Outreach Manager to develop a ‘bank’ of local organisations and services that young people can be referred onto during or after their programme. Ensure this information is shared with coaches and therapists so they can communicate it to the young person.
• Oversee the offboarding process that will support young people to continue their development after leaving Empire Fighting Chance (e.g. resources and pathways for young people – internally and externally).
• Use data and insights from young people to improve their experience.

5. Manage the provision of family liaison/support
Accountable for providing support to parents/carers of young people.

• Work alongside the Family Liaison Officer to enhance the information, advice, guidance and support provided to parents and carers to ensure young people engage with their programme.
• Oversee the development of practices and interventions that can provide support to parents and carers that will, in turn, have benefits for young people.

6. Line management of a team
Provide strategic direction to a small team in a supportive manner.

• Provide clear direction, support and motivation to team members, ensuring the Centre of Excellence objectives and the experience of young people is central to all decision making.
• Set clear performance goals and expectations for each function area within the operations team to ensure EFC programmes are operating to the highest standards and at optimal capacity.
• Ensure the team receive regular CPD and are equipped with the skills and knowledge to best support young people (many with complex needs).

The Grants and Foundations Manager position is ideal for someone with previous experience of income generation and a proven success in securing funding from trusts and grant making bodies. You will work closely with senior and service managers, to research new funding opportunities, building and sustaining strong relationships with new and existing funders. You will prepare grant applications and maintain a comprehensive database of funders, opportunities and grant applications, in addition to managing and evaluating bids to ensure optimal outcomes.

You will be highly organised with excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling and persuasive proposals. Additionally, you will have strong relationship building skills, with the ability to engage and grow income from a wide range of supporters.

A high level of computer literacy and IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM is essential.

The Role 
 
We are currently looking for a Deputy Superstore Manager to join our Retail, Services and Operations team to launch and manage our new Superstore in York. 

As Deputy Superstore Manager, you will support the launch and daily management of our new York Superstore, working closely with the Superstore Manager and stepping in during their absence. You will manage a large and varied team, including Department Team Leaders, Superstore Assistants, and volunteers. Key responsibilities include ensuring accurate accounting and asset management, delivering excellent customer service, and upholding all charity policies and procedures.

You will lead by example and ensure that employees, volunteers, supporters, donors, and customers understand how their contributions are making a difference to the lives of people in Yorkshire and beyond. 

You will need to be committed to creating a welcoming professional atmosphere and demonstrating the values of Yorkshire Cancer Research. You will also be a passionate and enthusiastic ambassador for the charity and its work. 
 

Specifically, you will be responsible for: 

• Leading on visual merchandising and display to create a welcoming and inspiring shopping experience that reflects our brand and values. 

• Ensuring efficient stock management and generation, so our shop floor is full of high-quality, desirable items that attract customers. 

• Maintaining impeccable shop standards and ensuring the store layout supports both customer engagement and operational efficiency. 

• Supporting all aspects of store operations, including opening and closing procedures. 

• Supporting the Superstore Manager in implementing and complying with agreed shop operating policy and standards including Health and Safety and Trading Standards. 

• Building relationships and working closely with wider functions across the charity such as Facilities, Marketing, Volunteer, and social media teams to ensure the plans are fulfilled and executed. 

• Assist the management of effective stockroom systems to ensure smooth processing and redistribution of donations, including identifying high-value or surplus stock for resale through online marketplaces or other Yorkshire Cancer Research stores. 

• Recruiting, developing, and retaining talent, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. 

• Assisting in meeting the Superstore’s financial targets by helping to maximise sales, manage costs effectively, and ensure the shop operates profitably. 

• Engaging with the local community and businesses to secure donations, build partnerships, and promote the charity. 

About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To be educated to A Level or equivalent or have experience in a similar role at a similar level. 

• Experience of managing people/volunteers including recruitment and development. 

• Experience of successfully managing, motivating, and supporting large, varied teams, fostering a culture where everyone feels empowered to contribute their best. 

• Experience of exceeding targets within a retail environment. 

• The ability to take full accountability for the financial performance of a retail operation, with a keen eye for opportunities to maximise income and efficiency. 

• Experience of handling large volumes of stock and maintaining high standards, even in fast-paced situations. 

• To be comfortable with digital systems and able to quickly adapt to new systems, processes, and tools to support the smooth running of operations.

The Programme Support & Knowledge (PSK) team is a critical and dynamic unit within WaterAid UK’s International Programmes Department (IPD), working across 17 countries in Africa and Asia. PSK is a diverse and motivated group of over 20 technical specialists and advisors committed to bringing sustainable WASH to the world’s poorest and most marginalised people.

About the role

As our Programme Support and Knowledge Director, you will play a key role in delivering our mission by providing strategic leadership to the PSK team and the wider IPD, as part of the department’s SMT. You will also input into organisation-wide initiatives, external collaborations and global networks to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Provide strategic and technical leadership to WaterAid UK’s programmes
• Lead the Programme Support & Knowledge Team
• Lead programme learning and knowledge management
• Oversee programme support and capacity development
• Support fundraising, external engagement, partnerships and communications
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Extensive and deep experience in WASH development across multiple contexts
• Strong technical WASH skills – e.g. sustainable rural and /or urban water supply service delivery and management, climate resilient WASH, 
• Systems-thinking capability to support transformational WASH programming
• Proven ability to lead strategic, impactful initiatives in large organisations
• Strong understanding of planning, monitoring and evaluation in development
• Experience in knowledge management, learning and capacity development
• Proven experience of developing propositions and donor engagement and
• A track record of leading high-performing teams and supporting change

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• Working knowledge of French, Portuguese or Spanish
• Experience leading or managing applied research
• Experience establishing and promoting technical standards.
