About Child’s i Foundation

Child’s i Foundation is a small but mighty social impact organisation that started in Uganda and now has a growing global footprint. We work with communities, caregivers, and individuals with lived experience to co-create and scale sustainable alternatives to institutional care. We address the root causes of family separation and demonstrate that every child belongs in a safe and loving family, not in an orphanage.

Purpose of the Role

The Business Development Lead will play a critical role in driving the financial sustainability of Child’s i Foundation. This person will lead efforts to secure new income, grow existing partnerships, and strengthen supporter engagement. This role combines strategy and execution and is ideal for someone with a passion for social justice, a flair for building relationships, and experience in both fundraising and donor communications. The role will report into our Chief Executive Officer. 

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Income Generation

• Develop and execute the fundraising and income generation strategy across diverse streams including:
  • ​Trusts and Foundations
  • Corporate Partnerships
  • Major Donors
  • Regular Giving
  • Campaigns and Events (UK & Uganda)
  • Track investment in partnership with Finance Manager
• Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities aligned with Child's i mission, values and strategic objectives. 
• Lead proposal writing, donor reporting and relationship management for high-value funders and partners.
• Work closely with the CEO and Board to unlock networks and steward strategic relationships

​Supporter Engagement & Communications

• Oversee supporter care and stewardship, ensuring timely acknowledgements and meaningful engagement.
• Manage and work with the comms team to develop content for digital fundraising platforms (website, social media, and email).
• Guide the comms team to develop compelling supporter journeys and storytelling that reflect the voices of communities we work with.
• Oversee the development of newsletters and donor communications that build long-term loyalty.

Operational Fundraising Management

• Oversee donation processing, database management, and tracking of fundraising KPIs.
• Coordinate with UK and Uganda teams to align messaging, campaigns, and compliance.
• Provide strategic oversight of volunteer-led and community fundraising initiatives.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

• Line manage junior fundraising support if applicable.
• Work collaboratively with programme, comms, finance, and impact teams to ensure donor requirements are met and learning is shared.
• Contribute to organisational learning on ethical fundraising, locally-led development, and shifting power to communities.

Person Specification

Essential

• Proven experience in business development and fundraising (minimum 3 years), ideally in the social impact or NGO sector. 
• Track record of securing income from trusts, foundations, or major donors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
• Strong relationship-building skills, from individual supporters to institutional donors.
• Organised, proactive, and adaptable, able to juggle multiple priorities in a small, fast-moving team.
• Commitment to Child’s i’s values and vision, and to ethical fundraising grounded in dignity and equity.

Desirable

• Experience working in East Africa or with Global South-led organisations.
• Familiarity and confidence with use of CRM systems. We use Beacon. 
• Understanding of child protection, care reform, or community development sectors.

Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) are recruiting for a Community Activities Coordinator to join our growing, dynamic organisation. This exciting new role will sit within AFRIL's busy Casework and Advocacy Service, working collaboratively with our asylum seeking and recently granted refugee clients to plan and deliver a range of activities, improving wellbeing and community solidarity. 

We are looking for a good people person, able to engage and inspire others, who demonstrates a collaborative approach to working with a range of stakeholders and in particular AFRIL clients who come from a variety of backgrounds. The postholder will be highly organised, have good project planning and execution skills, and a good working knowledge of the issues affecting refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. Community language skills are an asset. 

About AFRIL

Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) is a registered charity that supports asylum seekers, refugees, and vulnerable migrants in South East London. We support people to lift themselves out of poverty, assert their rights and rebuild their lives in the heart of our community. We provide both crisis support to meet immediate need, and longer-term, flexible programmes to tackle the underlying problems that lead people to be in crisis, supporting people to integrate, contribute and thrive. Our work is grounded in the values of professionalism, inclusivity, and solidarity. Our clients are at the heart of what we do and our approach is one of co-production and empowerment.

AFRIL delivers the following core services in the London Boroughs of Lewisham, Greenwich, Southwark, Bexley and Bromley:

• Rainbow Club Supplementary School - providing weekly supplementary education in English and Maths, arts, music and sports activities to children from refugee, migrant  and asylum seeking backgrounds from 4-11 years old, plus youth volunteering programme and Youth Council (NRCSE and Sanctuary Status). 

• Casework and Advocacy Service: providing AQS accredited advice, casework and legal interventions in asylum support, community care, housing, welfare benefits and related matters. Pre-Action Protocol letters to challenge unlawful public law decisions. The service currently provides Level 1 immigration advice under the Immigration Advice Agency.

• Destitution Support - a fortnightly Food Bank in partnership with St Peter’s Church providing food, food vouchers, toiletries, and other essentials, alongside a warm hub with free cafe, information and support. Small grants for essential items and cash payments for food in emergencies. Securing and distributing gifts in kind, e.g. winter coats, laptops and data. 

• Allotment of Refuge - a welcoming community of food growers that supports improved health, wellbeing and integration of members, whilst protecting the local environment. 

• Immigration Project in partnership with Southwark Law Centre, providing free legal advice and representation to support people to regularise their immigration status. 

We also use our frontline experience, together with our clients, to engage in Policy and influencing work to improve the services and policies that impact our client group. This includes advising the GLA on 3 asylum related working groups, and as a member of the London Housing Panel.

DARE is the lead organisation in Darwen working with asylum seekers and refugees. We provide assistance across a wide range of issues, including helping asylum seekers through the complexities of the asylum system. Our Fundraising Marketing team is looking for a proactive, creative and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Fundraising Marketing Executive. COMMUNITY HUB LEADER

Oasis is looking for someone who can combine an entrepreneurial flair and excellent leadership skills to become the next Community Hub Leader at Woodview, Birmingham. 

The post holder will lead the development of the Hub, situated on the periphery of central Birmingham, serving the community of the Woodview estate, supporting the Oasis Academy and wider local community. The role will hold the vision of integrated community delivery, which will include a range of projects such as family support, volunteering, advice and support, community events.

This is a key role as you will be responsible for strategic oversight of the hub charity, ensuring the youth and community work supports the work of the academy, working alongside other local Oasis leaders such as the Principal, volunteers and members of the local community to develop a joined up local vision for the community.

Some of the specific duties of this role include:

· Establishment and coordination of a range of services such as family support, holiday provision, volunteering and community empowerment projects.

· Building supportive working partnerships across the community and various groups.

· Leading strategic development (e.g. comms, income generation, MEL)

· Planning, resource and coordinate the community plan, measuring impact.

· Working closely with the academy safeguarding team on Early Help and family support.

· Developing a team that can grow an Oasis Movement (e.g. engaging staff, volunteers and community workers).

This is very much a relational and project management role. As such, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate:

· Experience of leading community delivery and growing projects from start-up phase.

· Innovative use of resources and budget management to maximise funding.

· A thorough knowledge and understanding community work.

· An education to degree level or equivalent and /or relevant professional qualification.

St Albans Cathedral is a centre of musical excellence with some of the finest choirs in the country, a magnificent Harrison & Harrison organ and a busy programme of musical events and concerts.

Unlike many cathedrals, St Albans had no historical endowment to support its music. The Music Trust was established in 1995 to ensure a thriving and financially stable musical life at the Cathedral. Role Overview:
We are working with a prestigious organisation committed to driving positive social change through world-class ideas, public engagement, and thought leadership. They are seeking an Events Officer to join their central London team on a 6-month fixed-term contract (FTC), with an immediate start.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced events professional to take ownership of delivering a diverse programme of high-profile events – from keynote talks and panel discussions to livestreamed and digital-first formats. The role involves end-to-end event production, speaker sourcing, content development, and close collaboration with communications and technical teams to ensure seamless delivery and strong audience engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality events from concept through to execution, including speaker liaison, event copy, agendas, briefings, and on-the-day hosting.
• Source, invite and manage speakers across academia, policy, publishing, culture, innovation, and social change.
• Coordinate logistics including AV, livestreaming, hospitality, and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with communications and digital teams to maximise marketing, audience engagement, and post-event reach.
• Project-manage event series independently, overseeing content, stakeholder relationships, and partnerships.
• Ensure all events are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with the organisation’s mission.
• Support the Head of Events with research into new formats, partnerships, and sponsorship opportunities.

Person Specification:

• Demonstrable track record of producing live, hybrid, and digital events end-to-end.
• Strong stakeholder and speaker management experience, with confidence working with senior and high-profile individuals.
• Proven ability to translate complex or specialist content into accessible and engaging public formats.
• Excellent copywriting and editorial skills.
• Technical coordination skills, particularly working with AV and livestreaming teams.
• Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects under pressure.
• Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with web-editing or CRM systems.
• Familiarity with design software (e.g. Photoshop).

What’s on Offer:

• An initial 6-month contract within a fantastic organisation.

• A salary of £32,000 to £34,000 for the successful candidate.

ABOUT THE POLITICS PROJECT

We support young people to use their voice by providing them with outstanding democratic education. We work with young people, teachers and politicians to help them to learn, teach and engage in politics. We are a non-partisan organisation working across the UK. 

We also coordinate the Democracy Classroom network, a partnership between over 100 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections. 

The Politics Project delivers Digital Dialogue: Wales, which supports young people to have meaningful conversations with the politicians that represent them, building trust and relationships on both sides. Young people gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to engage in the democratic process through informed interactions with their elected representatives. 

These interactions take place both online and in-person, in classrooms across Wales. 

Since 2021 over 5550 young people, 130 teachers and 130 Welsh politicians (including the leaders of four political parties represented in the Senedd) have taken part in the programme.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Programme Coordinator will plan, arrange and facilitate Dialogue sessions, where learners question and discuss issues relevant to young people with their political representatives. The post holder will also support schools and colleges to deliver Youth Hustings for the 2026 Senedd and 2027 Local elections, giving learners the opportunity to meet, and ask questions to, candidates standing in their area.

The Politics Project wants Digital Dialogue: Wales to fundamentally change the way that young people and politicians interact across Wales. Help us to make sure that young people get their voices heard.

Working with the Head of Programmes and the Digital Dialogue: Wales Programme Lead, the post holder would support the delivery and growth of Digital Dialogue: Wales, allowing more young people, teachers and politicians to take part. This is a fast-paced role in a small but growing team. 

While fluency in Welsh is preferred, it is not a requirement for this role.

The post holder will:

• Work with the Head of Programmes and the Digital Dialogue: Wales Programme Lead to support the delivery of the Digital Dialogue: Wales programme.
• Provide online, and occasional in-school, support for teachers delivering Digital Dialogue, Youth Hustings, teacher and politician training sessions.
• Support the recruitment of teachers and local and national politicians across Wales to take part in the programme.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with those teachers and politicians.
• Manage and keep up to date the database, collecting and inputting information and producing reports when required. Assist with monitoring and evaluation.
• Provide administrative support for the Digital Dialogue: Wales programme and other programmes and activities delivered by The Politics Project.

The Politics Project is based in London, but the post holder for this role will be based in Wales. They will usually work from home, though we would expect the post holder to come to the London office once a month and attend in person meetings in Wales as required. It is an 18-month contract (including a 6-month probation period), with extension possible subject to funding. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends may be required.

ABOUT YOU

You will have a passion for democratic education. You will be a self-starter, comfortable setting their own pace of work and managing their deadlines with only some supervision. You can form good relationships with a range of people from different backgrounds and perspectives. You can negotiate, persuade, problem solve and be flexible to meet stakeholder needs. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

You will be IT literate, comfortable working with video conferencing technology and other forms of digital communication.

Above all, you have outstanding organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to work under pressure and identify priorities. You will effectively deliver against set targets to agreed deadlines.

In accordance with our Child Protection and Safeguarding procedures, this position requires an enhanced DBS check that we will provide.

Also desirable, but not essential, would be:

• Basic project management, planning, administrative and organisational skills experience.
• Previous experience of working with children and young people.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Welsh education system.
• Welsh speaker.
• A clean UK driving licence.
