Senior Youth Worker

Could you lead and inspire youth work across Wallingford and Didcot?

We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic youth worker to take a lead role in delivering and developing our youth provision in both towns. You’ll lead our youth provision in Wallingford, which includes open-access youth clubs, detached, an LGBTQ+ youth group and holiday activities. You’ll also deliver youth work in Didcot and support our wider team. You’ll supervise and develop volunteers, champion youth voice, and ensure our provision responds to young people’s ever-changing needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing the community youth provision in Wallingford
• Building meaningful, trusted relationships with under-served young people to support their personal and social development
• Delivering youth work sessions in Wallingford and Didcot across open-access, detached, outreach and mentoring provision
• Supervising and supporting volunteers
• Promoting youth voice and participation across all provision

Reporting to the CEO, we are seeking a Director of Income Generation to lead on securing income. This is an exciting role which will focus on: 

• maximising our unique portfolio of corporate supporters; further growing our Trust and Grants income, including building partnerships with like-minded charities; 
• building our events-based fundraising, including bespoke events; 
• looking for new areas for growth which could include developing a HNWI giving programme. 

This role sits within our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will manage our Fundraising team. You will seek to maximise value from opportunities across the organisation and ensure that fundraising is consistent with the charity’s broader goals. You will also work closely with of Director of Employment and Opportunities and team to co-design a Corporate Supporter Strategy. 

To be successful, you will need proven success in securing five and six-figure value partnerships (both in corporate and philanthropy), as well as an overall understanding of our wider key income streams. Previous experience of working in a youth charity is highly desirable. Whilst your income generation achievements are important, your mindset and the way you approach your work are equally important to us, and we are looking for an inspiring and collaborative leader who seeks out opportunities alongside supporting your team to achieve their potential. 

We are a remote-based organisation which promotes flexible working. This role will require frequent travel to our hub cities (Birmingham, Liverpool, London and Manchester).

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of the Spear Programme

• As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and steward relationships with these, overseeing and building a strategy to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network

Line Management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development
• Be line managed by Resurgo on Spear Programme performance and ongoing operations of the centre, and report back on KPIs

Church Community

• The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by Alive Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members and help the Spear Coach to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme
• Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services

Site management 

• Work with the Church to coordinate the training room and any infrastructure needs for the Spear Centre
• Liaise with relevant staff locally on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies

Safety and Security

· Ensure resident safety by implementing visitor procedures and preventing unauthorised access.

· Conduct health and safety checks and patrols around the building and exterior.

· Monitor CCTV, address antisocial behaviour, and complete relevant reports

· Report repairs and any health and safety issues

Incident and Emergency Procedures

Night staff must be familiar with emergency protocols, including fire safety, evacuation, and business continuity plans, ensuring resident safety and compliance with statutory and contractual requirements.

Administrative Duties

· Update INFORM with relevant details of all resident interactions during shifts.

· Maintain accurate and comprehensive resident records to professional standards.

· Encourage residents to pay rent and ensure rent accounts are managed effectively.

Housing Management and Property Standards

Night Waking Support Workers must conduct regular health and safety checks, report repairs promptly

Professional Development

· Engage in learning and development activities to increase knowledge and skills.

· Develop the ability to defuse and de-escalate challenging behaviour with personal safety awareness.

ROLE PURPOSE

You will be part of a team helping to transform lives by enabling young people to manage their licenses and move towards greater independence within the community. This role requires knowledge of supporting individuals with complex needs using trauma-informed approaches and working in a Psychologically Informed Environment. The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

GENUINE OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT

In accordance with the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, it is a genuine occupational requirement (GOR) that the post holder is female. This requirement is essential for the role due to the following reasons:

1. Privacy and Dignity: The role involves working closely with female residents during sensitive hours (evenings, nights, and weekends) where privacy and dignity are paramount. Female residents may feel uncomfortable or distressed receiving support from a male/male presenting worker during these times, especially in situations involving personal care or emotional vulnerability.

2. Safety and Trust: Many of the residents may have experienced trauma, including domestic violence or abuse, often perpetrated by males. The presence of a female manager helps create a safe and supportive environment where these individuals can feel secure and trust the support being provided.

3. Legitimate Aim: The requirement ensures that the MPMT can maintain its commitment to providing gender-sensitive services tailored to the needs of vulnerable females. This aligns with the legitimate aim of protecting residents’ well-being and mental health.

4. Proportionality: The occupational requirement is a proportionate means of achieving the legitimate aim, as it directly addresses the needs of residents in a way that cannot be achieved through alternative measures, such as reallocating duties or employing male/male presenting staff for this role.

This GOR has been carefully considered to ensure compliance with legal standards under the Equality Act 2010 and is applied only where it is essential for fulfilling the primary responsibilities of this specific role.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People – Principal Gift Manager
Location: Options for role to be site-based (Buckinghamshire or East Yorkshire), hybrid or home-based contract with regular UK travel for donor meetings and team events.
Salary: £60,000 per annum.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, whose mission is to see a time when no deaf person feels alone, is seeking a Principal Gifts Manager responsible for identifying, cultivating and stewarding high-value donors to the charity giving £100,000 plus.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. As well as acting as an ear to their partners and alerting them to sounds, the charity’s clever and expertly trained dogs help deaf people to live life with confidence and independence, whilst providing love, companionship and emotional support.

Following on from a strategic review, the charity is now looking to build a new Income Generation Directorate, to enable them to transform many more lives across the UK. This role will be critical to help Hearing Dogs reach their goals to significantly grow and diversify income.

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the post-holder will work closely with senior leaders, trustees and senior stakeholders to solicit high value gifts, typically of six and seven figures, and to build and deepen long-term relationships between donors and the charity. You will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of potential and current principal-level donors, as well as delivering exceptional stewardship journeys that demonstrate the impact and value of donor support.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in securing major gifts at the six-figure level or above, ideally in a principal or transformational giving context. You will be skilled at building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with high-net-worth individuals, as well as be experienced at developing and delivering complex donor strategies and bespoke giving propositions. Finally, it is important that you are a collaborative team player with strong project management and communication skills.

We need a new Library of Things Manager to run our Frenchay site, on the UWE campus, working with the rest of our small team of staff and volunteers to make borrowing as convenient as buying.

Job title: Library of Things Manager (Frenchay)
Reports to: Operations and Development Manager
Based from: Share Bristol Frenchay, University of the West of England, Frenchay Campus, Coldharbour Lane, Bristol BS16.

Work pattern: £12.75 per hour, minimum of 12 hrs a week. The 12 hours per week are to include the following hours onsite at Share Bristol on the UWE Frenchay campus.
Core hours will be:
– Tuesdays 4:45-7:15pm
– Wednesdays 11:45-2:15pm
– Fridays 9:45-12:15pm
Other hours can be worked flexibly either on or off-site.

Oversee the Share Bristol Frenchay Library of Things, ensuring it meets the needs of the local community, and work in partnership with the rest of the Share Bristol team to ensure the success of our charity and our Library of Things service.

This role is responsible for the day to day running of the Frenchay Library of Things, recruiting and supporting our volunteers, helping us engage with partner organisations, including UWE, managing our Thing donations and inventory, and assisting our current and potential members.

We’re looking for someone to start as soon as practical, and work around 12 hours a week. The working hours will be mainly around when we are open for lending sessions. The role

We’re looking for a strategic, creative Head of Fundraising to lead our next phase of growth.

Your first focus will be stewarding our 3,000 fundraisers - overseeing segmented email journeys, managing a £40k prizing fund, and improving supporter care through deeper, more personal touchpoints. That might mean calls, events, or just finding ways to help people feel more connected to their impact.

Beyond that, you'll help us develop and test new income streams - from matched giving and regular giving, to sponsorships, repeat fundraising, and post-event conversion. You'll also play a key role in evolving our Challenge Events portfolio across in-person, virtual, and blended formats.

Core Responsibilities

• Strategy Development and Implementation
• Develop and execute a fundraising strategy aligned with the charity's objectives.
• Identify and cultivate new fundraising opportunities to diversify income streams.
• Defining our fundraising growth strategies, specifically around our event series.

Community and Events Fundraising

• Oversee the planning and execution of community fundraising initiatives, specifically with our event fundraisers.
• Engage and mobilise volunteers and supporters for fundraising activities.

Fundraiser Care

• Customer Lifetime value / retention / regular giving.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors, ensuring effective stewardship.
• Develop and implement donor retention strategies to increase long-term support and regular giving.

Trusts and Foundations

• Working closely with our Head of Programmes to oversee our bids process, working with specialists and utilising learnings from previous years.
• Deepen strong relationships with grant-making bodies and ensure compliance with grant requirements.

Corporate Partnerships

• Manage and develop corporate partnerships and event sponsorships. 
• Develop tailored proposals and pitches to attract corporate support.

Team Leadership

• Lead, inspire, and manage a small fundraising team, fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration.
• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members for both fundraising and marketing.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Track and report on fundraising performance against targets.
• Provide regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team. 

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience in a senior fundraising role.
• Proven experience working on fundraising events and event fundraising.
• Demonstrable success in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies.
• Strong track record of securing major gifts, grant funding and/or corporate partnerships.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience in digital fundraising and leveraging social media platforms.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

The Wise Group and St Giles came together a few years ago to form a partnership with the aim of supporting the Probation Resettlement reforms by offering a high-quality service underpinned by staff who have lived experience and cultural competency. To date we have been awarded more than 20 contracts to deliver Personal Wellbeing, Finance, Benefit & Debt and Women’s Services across England and Wales.

About this key role
Our successful candidate will provide operational management support across one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Finance, Benefit and Debt (FBD) services in Wales.  You will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users, who will either be serving community sentences or have been released from prison, and provide leadership and operational management support in debt and welfare benefits to a team of Financial Wellbeing Coaches (FWCs) and Peer Advisor volunteers employed in the delivery of the contracts.

We will also rely on you to set performance objectives with FWCs and monitor progress, monitor and manage all aspects of delivery and performance to ensure compliance with policy and procedures, and to develop and maintain a strong working relationship with local Wales Probation managers and staff as well as other external stakeholders.  Managing partnerships and ensuring there is a safe and trusting working environment for staff are also vital aspects of the role.

What we are looking for

• Experience of working in or managing services supporting challenging people, for example people who have complex needs and those who are reluctant to discuss their needs
• Experience of working in or managing multi-agency partnerships working towards common objectives and outcomes
• Evidence of training at specialist level in money and/or welfare benefits advice
• Higher level certificate in money and/or welfare benefit advice from accreditation providers
• Wide range of money advice knowledge, budgeting, dealing with priority and non-priority debts, County Court/High Court options, insolvency options and a range of welfare benefits
• Ability to coach and mentor staff to motivate and facilitate optimum performance in a team
• Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills, both verbal and written.

You’ll be part of Marie Curie’s England Policy and Public Affairs team, working closely with colleagues across our research, caring services, and innovation teams. We work collaboratively with the Ambitions Partnership - a coalition of 35 national organisations - to drive meaningful change in policy and practice for palliative and end-of-life care. Our work is underpinned by evidence, lived experience, and a commitment to tackling inequities in care.

This is your opportunity to design and manage the delivery of a new and exciting programme of work for the Ambitions National Partnership for Palliative Care and End of Life Care, working with senior NHS and statutory and voluntary sector partners. You’ll also lead an innovative Marie Curie pilot focusing on working through primary care to improve end of life care in care homes. Your expertise and evidence-led approach will help shape decisions at local, regional, and national levels - creating a more equitable system for those at the end of life.

You will be responsible for: 

• Leading delivery of the Ambitions Partnership’s new work programme - setting clear outcomes, managing budgets, and keeping activities on track.
• Developing partnerships across the health and care system, fostering collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Enabling evidence-sharing by producing high-quality reports, briefings, and resources for policy and practice audiences.
• Managing the care homes innovation programme, ensuring learning is shared nationwide and translated into practical change.
• Designing and delivering engagement activities including workshops, seminars, and events to support policy and practice impact.

Key Criteria:

• Proven experience in designing and managing impactful programmes for policy and practice change.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex evidence clearly to different audiences.
• Demonstrable success in managing collaborative relationships with a diverse range of partners.
• Ability to analyse and use research evidence to influence policy and practice.
• Expertise in at least one of: palliative and end-of-life care, social care, or health from research and/or practice work.
