About the opportunity

As a Risk & Resilience Officer, you'll work in partnership with colleagues across all our directorates to strengthen how we identify, assess, and respond to risk. This is a role where your facilitation skills and risk knowledge directly contribute to building a more mature, risk-informed organisation that can navigate uncertainty while staying focused on its mission.

You'll be part of our Finance & Assurance directorate, working alongside the Risk and Resilience Manager to champion a positive risk culture and deliver high-quality risk and resilience information that supports decision-making at every level. From coordinating enterprise risk management and maintaining our risk framework to supporting business continuity arrangements and ensuring our resilience plans stay current, you'll play a central role in helping the Society operate with confidence.

This is an opportunity to work across the organisation, liaising with diverse teams to embed effective risk and resilience practices into how we work. You'll share best practice, drive consistency, and help ensure that our approach to risk is aligned with our strategic objectives and truly adds value.

About you:

You're either part-qualified in Risk Management or Business Continuity (through IRM, BCI, or similar), or you have proven experience maintaining successful risk management arrangements within an organisation. You understand risk frameworks and methodologies, you've provided risk and resilience advice to stakeholders, and you know how insurance processes work.

You'll have:

Job Purpose 

• To lead and deliver Butterfly Conservation’s strategic aims for nature recovery in Northern Ireland, maximising our impact for butterflies, moths and people.
• To implement BC’s objectives through leadership of the Northern Ireland Nature Recovery team, setting and managing budgets, targets and workplans while inspiring and enabling staff to achieve their best.
• To develop and strengthen collaboration with BC staff, volunteers, stakeholders and partners to drive progress on BC’s targeted species recovery programmes, landscape-scale initiatives and wider nature recovery in Northern Ireland. 

Main Responsibilities

• Drive delivery of BC’s strategic objectives through designing and managing workplans for the Nature Recovery Northern Ireland team, translating ideas into action and ensuring effective reporting to monitor and share evidence of our impact.
• Lead BC’s species recovery work for priority butterflies and moths in Northern Ireland, setting objectives and driving targeted action to recover populations of some of our most threatened species. 
• Lead our landscape-scale conservation work in Northern Ireland, developing and overseeing projects using butterflies and moths as indicators of nature recovery across a landscape.
• Develop and deliver new approaches to contribute to broader nature recovery across Northern Ireland, including exploring potential nature markets and developing our advice and services to reach more partners. 
• Lead, manage and be accountable for the Nature Recovery team in Northern Ireland, including a small number of direct line management reports. Responsible for budgeting, work planning and resource management, including overseeing annual performance management, team meetings, supporting training needs, staff development and well-being.
• Lead the development of new nature recovery projects, including partner liaison, project planning and design, budgeting and reporting to funders. Collaborate with Nature Recovery, Fundraising, and Finance teams to build a case for support and develop bids for external funding through partnerships, appeals and services. 
• Be responsible for Northern Ireland Nature Recovery budgets and their control, working closely with the Finance team to ensure effective planning and timely financial reporting.
• Ensure close working between BC staff, Branches and key volunteers in delivering co-ordinated nature recovery action towards BC’s strategic goals across Northern Ireland.
• Support the Engagement and Volunteering team in the development and delivery of volunteering activity across Northern Ireland, putting people at the heart of our work.
• Work with BC’s policy team and NGO partners to support collaborative work on major policy issues and advocate BC priorities in Northern Ireland.

The team

You’ll join our International Energy Access team, primarily working on the multimillion-pound Efficiency for Access Coalition including the Low Energy Inclusive Appliances (LEIA) programme that aims to double the efficiency and halve the cost of off- and weak-grid appliances in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. This programme is funded by UK aid, from the UK government via the Transforming Energy Access platform, and IKEA Foundation, and delivered by Energy Saving Trust in partnership with CLASP.

As part of the International Energy Access team, you’ll contribute to meaningful initiatives that have real-world impact on improving lives and livelihoods, while helping to address the climate emergency. About Planet Patrol

Our vision is a world where all beings can enjoy our waterways, free from pollution. We are a global community dedicated to placing people-powered environmental data at the heart of decision-making. Through our unique anywhere, anytime, anybody approach to citizen science, we gather critical evidence of water and litter pollution to drive solutions that protect both environmental and human health. Our data and citizen science methods have been featured in academic journals (Stanton, et al., 2022) and media investigations (Channel 4 and ITV), enhancing public and scientific knowledge of litter pollution.

About the role

As Director, you will oversee daily operations, including forecasting and budgeting for the entire organisation (currently c£300K per annum). As such, you will lead on developing a sustainable funding stream for our mission-driven work, ensuring we maintain a 6-month runway at all times. You will build and maintain strong external relationships to help grow and develop the organisation. The Director will provide leadership to a small, remote team (4 x PAYE) and create a happy, sustainable and productive work environment. Most importantly, the Director will ensure objectives are being met - both personal and organisational - to deliver impactful, positive change for our waterways in the UK, and abroad.

Key Responsibilities

Funding Development + Stakeholder Relationships (40%): 

• Significant responsibility for successful contractual negotiations and maintaining a healthy new funding pipeline. Secure six-to-seven figure funding opportunities to provide a sustainable revenue stream for 3+ years. 
• Strategic understanding and experience of competitive and fast changing charitable financial landscape. 
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with funders and other voluntary sector organisations.

About this exciting opportunity

Our successful candidate will provide operational management and effective leadership to a team of Financial Wellbeing Coaches (FWCs) and Peer Advisor volunteers employed in the delivery of one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Finance, Benefit and Debt (FBD) services in Wales.

We will count on you to set performance objectives and monitor progress – ensuring compliance with contractual performance indicators and quality improvement, and to monitor and manage all aspects of delivery and performance.

A ydych chi'n unigolyn deinamig, cydweithredol a dylanwadol gyda hanes profedig o reoli a goruchwylio staff i ddarparu gwasanaethau'n llwyddiannus gan ddefnyddio dangosyddion perfformiad allweddol, safonau ansawdd a/neu dargedau?  A oes gennych chi brofiad o weithio mewn neu reoli gwasanaethau sy'n cefnogi troseddwyr gwrywaidd 18 oed a hŷn mewn lleoliadau cymunedol?

Os felly, ymunwch ag Ymddiriedolaeth St Giles fel ein Ymgynghorydd Arbenigol Lles Ariannol lle byddwch chi'n cynorthwyo gyda rheolaeth Cytundebau Gwasanaeth Carchardai a Phrawf Ei Mawrhydi (HMPPS) gan ddarparu gwasanaethau Lles Ariannol hanfodol ledled Cymru. 

Ynghylch Ymddiriedolaeth St Giles a’r Wise Group

Elusen uchelgeisiol, wedi’i hen sefydlu sy’n helpu pobl sy’n wynebu helbulon i ddod o hyd i swyddi, cartrefi a’r gefnogaeth gywir yw Ymddiriedolaeth St Giles. Yn ganolog i'n hethos yw ein cred bod pobl sydd â phrofiad uniongyrchol o oresgyn problemau megis cefndir troseddol, digartrefedd,  dibyniaeth ar gyffuriau ac alcohol ac aelodaeth gang, yn allweddol i sicrhau newid positif mewn eraill. 

Mae St Giles bellach yn gyflogwr Kickstart, felly rydym yn rhan o'r cynllun sy'n darparu cyfleoedd gwaith i bobl ifanc 16-24 oed sydd ar Gredyd Cynhwysol ar hyn o bryd ac sydd mewn perygl o ddiweithdra hirdymor.

Mae’r The Wise Group yn fenter gymdeithasol flaenllaw sy'n ceisio codi pobl allan o dlodi drwy gefnogaeth fentora, cyflogaeth, sgiliau, a chyngor ynni.  Daeth St Giles a The Wise Group at ei gilydd i ffurfio partneriaeth gyda'r nod o gefnogi'r diwygiadau Ailsefydlu Prawf drwy gynnig gwasanaeth o ansawdd uchel wedi'i ategu gan staff sydd â phrofiad byw a chymhwysedd diwylliannol.  O ganlyniad, dyfarnwyd cytundebau i ni i ddarparu Gwasanaethau Lles Ariannol ledled Cymru a fydd yn cynnwys darparu amrywiaeth o gymorth ariannol a chyngor i droseddwyr cymunedol a'r rhai sy'n gadael carchar. 

Ynghylch y cyfle cyffrous hwn

Bydd ein hymgeisydd llwyddiannus yn darparu rheolaeth weithredol ac arweinyddiaeth effeithiol i dîm o wirfoddolwyr Hyfforddwyr Lles Ariannol (HLlA) a gwirfoddolwyr Ymgynghorydd Cyfoedion sy’n cyflawni un neu ragor o gytundebau a ddyranwyd gan yr HMPPS i ddarparu gwasanaethau Cyllid, Budd-dal a Dyled (CBD) yng Nghymru.  Byddwch yn gosod amcanion perfformiad ac yn monitro cynnydd - gan sicrhau cydymffurfiaeth â dangosyddion perfformiad cytundebol a gwella ansawdd, ac yn monitro a rheoli pob agwedd ar gyflawni a pherfformiad.

Bydd y rôl allweddol hon hefyd yn cynnwys rheoli partneriaethau, datblygu a chynnal perthnasoedd gweithio cryf gyda rhanddeiliaid, a rheoli a chydlynu adnoddau a ddyrannwyd, gan gynnwys gwirfoddolwyr a chronfeydd prynu ar y pryd.  Mae sicrhau bod amgylchedd gweithio diogel ac ymddiriedol ar gyfer staff a chydweithio'n agos gyda Rheolwyr St Giles Wise eraill i sicrhau cysondeb o ran dull gweithredu a rhannu arferion gorau hefyd yn ddyletswyddau allweddol.

Yr hyn rydym yn chwilio amdano 

•    Profiad o weithio mewn, neu reoli, gwasanaethau sy’n cefnogi pobl heriol

•    Profiad o weithio mewn neu reoli partneriaethau aml-asiantaeth sy'n gweithio tuag at amcanion cyffredin 

•    Bod â chymhwyster perthnasol, neu allu darparu tystiolaeth o hyfforddiant ar lefel arbenigol mewn cyngor am arian a/neu fudd-daliadau lles 

•    Dealltwriaeth gadarn o ofynion rheoli llwyth gwaith 

•    Cyfarwydd â deddfwriaeth, rheoliadau, codau ymarfer arweiniad a safonau diwydiant 

•    Y gallu i hyfforddi a mentora staff i ysgogi a hwyluso’r perfformiad gorau posibl 

•    Sgiliau rhyngbersonol, meithrin-perthynas a chyfathrebu rhagorol, ar lafar ac yn ysgrifenedig

Yn gyfnewid am hyn, gallwch ddisgwyl cyflog cystadleuol, lwfans gwyliau hael, pensiwn staff, gweithio hyblyg, rhaglen fentora, gwasanaeth cynghori a chwnsela, talebau gofal plant, benthyciad tocyn tymor a llawer mwy.
