This is an exciting and influential role in The Salvation Army, requiring a broad experience and skill set, along with relationally focused and adaptable approach. It will involve working with a skilled team to engage and support professionals from a variety of fields to influence strategy and practice. You will not only collaborate to ensure the collection and analysis of good quality information but also work to facilitate its accessibility and implementation throughout the movement. You will join the team at a time of transition, helping plan and implement ways of working in R&D that emphasis the movement’s response as a church to the needs of local communities and wider society.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Director of Research & Development in directing and providing strategic leadership on all research matters to the UKI Territory. The role is a key part of R&D senior management team. R&D seeks to inform, inspire and enable transformational front-line mission. The post-holder will be responsible for significant internal agendas including Ethics, Impact Measurement and develop strategic research university partnerships to promote evidence-based mission. They will be required to manage a significant portfolio of projects and contacts.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• An extensive proven track record of utilising strong interpersonal and relational skills to lead a successful research team that supports the development, implementation and evaluation of high impact research initiatives, developing and training staff, and managing performance where required
• Proven track record of empowering and coaching team members to innovate, whilst leading by example, demonstrating clarity of thought and direction, drive and humility
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at a senior level, and ability to develop strong, successful, collaborative and influential working relationships at all levels of seniority within an organisation
• A research-based PhD (or equivalent qualification), and excellent proven practical research, analytical and project management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret stakeholders’ business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements, demonstrating creativity, agility and a solution-orientated approach.
• Practitioner understanding of participatory and theological research methods, ability to theologically reflect and discern, with a thorough understanding of research ethics.

About the Role

The Legal Officer will be an integral part of the UK Litigation team and will work closely with external legal teams to advance our cases and ensure coordination of legal actions in line with Reprieve’s strategic goals. They will be responsible for administration and maintenance of casefiles and key case management documents and assume certain day-to-day file management responsibilities. They will feed into case strategy discussions and will support the team by conducting and overseeing legal and factual research, drafting documents for litigation and advocacy purposes, and producing and maintaining core internal documents and records. The Legal Officer will also help advance investigations on selected cases, coordinating record collection, feeding into investigation plans and supporting other investigative work. 

In addition to working on UK legal cases, the role will encompass work on Reprieve’s cross-cutting strategic United Nations engagement and international litigation. This will involve monitoring for relevant opportunities to shape international law and working on international legal submissions, particularly before international human rights complaints mechanisms and international tribunals. 

There may also be opportunities to contribute to other areas of Reprieve’s work.

This is a full-time role, on a one-year fixed term contract, with the possibility to extend, subject to funding. The annual salary is £42,193 per annum, less any required deductions for income tax and national insurance.

Shine’s Health Team 

Shine’s Health Team provides condition-specific health advice and support to people of all ages with spina bifida, hydrocephalus, NPH or IIH, promoting good self-management and enabling our members to live in optimum health.  The Team also aims to reduce the numbers of pregnancies affected by spina bifida and anencephaly through education around supplementation and fortification with folic acid, and other measures. 

Purpose of Job 

The Shine Nurse Specialist will deliver services and create resources to improve the health of Shine’s members, by informing members, their carers and professionals 

Principal Duties 

• To provide ad hoc advice to Shine’s members, their carers  and professionals on complex health issues, and signpost to NHS services 

• To attend and represent Shine at the Chelsea & Westminster Spina Bifida Clinic

• To collect information, statistics and research from a variety of sources to inform Shine’s health projects 

• To create resources to inform and support members’ health 

• To develop training/information resources for professionals 

• To plan and deliver projects, events, presentations and information sessions for members and professionals 

• To provide an information resource for Shine staff 

• To form and engage with networks of health professionals

Skills and Experience 

Essential 

• Professional/Registered Health Qualification, for example:

We are looking to appoint a new Head of Fundraising and Communications to lead a very capable, motivated and collaborative team  and provide strategic leadership to develop an integrated approach between fundraising, communications and athletes/alumni engagement.

Over the last two years we have developed a new fundraising strategy, new partnership models and won an incredibly exciting strategic partnership opportunity that will deliver impact for 60,000 young athletes. Your focus will be on:

· Building community fundraising and alumni engagement and support the implementation of corporate partnerships plans

· Ensuring the fundraising team are fully equipped with the tools they need: a strong case for support, accurate financial and impact reports, consistent and engaging brand and communication assets

· Leading on the development of a new SportsAid communications and digital strategy, so it has a comprehensive narrative for SportsAid, translated into key messages that underpin the charity’s aims and objectives.

Does this sound like you?

· You are a confident, empathetic and experienced leader. You have the courage to advocate and drive for change and influence at the highest level of the organisation and you are also self-aware and committed to listening, inclusion and well-being

· Over 5 years’ experience as fundraising leader in the charity sector, either a head of an income stream or as a Head of Fundraising

· A track record of setting and meeting seven figures income targets as part of a multi-faceted fundraising strategy

· Substantial experience of developing an integrated approach between fundraising, communications and beneficiary engagement.

· Specialist expertise in community fundraising and or alumni engagement

The salary is £65,000-£70,000 p.a. based on your experience and opportunities for flexible working are available.

About the Role

The Lead Lawyer - Africa Death Penalty Team is responsible for coordinating Reprieve’s litigation and advocacy in Sub-Saharan Africa. At the moment, the team works on death penalty casework and abolition advocacy in Malawi, Tanzania, and Kenya. 

Our casework includes work on appeals to the Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal in the context of historic denials of a right to appeal and related contextual challenges; large-scale projects, such as the Kenya resentencing project, wherein we support stakeholders to ensure 5,000+ people are able to access a chance at reducing their sentence from death via a new sentence hearing, as well as supporting on individual strategic resentencing cases; and long-term regional projects, such as our strategic litigation before the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, which challenges the mandatory death penalty, torture, and other associated violations of the African Charter. Barnardo's Kickstart Futures Service; Floating Support for Care Leavers in Sutton.

Barnardo's, in partnership with The London Borough of Sutton, is providing a floating support service for Care Leavers with low to medium levels of support needs.

The service provides floating support to Young People across a range of properties located within the borough of Sutton, as well as a small number of Young People based elsewhere in the community, mainly around The London Borough of Sutton and neighbouring boroughs.

Some residents are Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Young People (UASYP), or survivors of Human Trafficking, who are over the age of 18.

The service delivers key work support to each Young Person on an individual basis and additional group work sessions for property residents. Key work sessions are scheduled in collaboration with the Young Person. Key work hours will be delivered flexibly to meet the needs of the Young People and include regular evenings and weekends in order to fit around college and/or work schedules for Young People who are engaged in Education, Employment or Training.

We are now seeking to recruit new project workers, with experience of working with Care Leavers, to help us grow this exciting new service. We would welcome applications for as and when part time workers.

This is a full-time, one-year fixed-term contract based in London (Hybrid). The post is renewable funding dependent. The salary for this role is £65,000 per annum.

The organisation's mission is to support global efforts to eradicate conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) and strengthen national and international responses to it through research and action on CRSV against men and boys. Working with victims/survivors and in partnership with national and international actors on the ground, the charity undertakes long-term, in-depth work in selected conflict-affected countries, currently Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Colombia, and Ukraine.

In this role you will report to the Executive Director and lead a hands on, driven small team. You will play a key role contributing both strategically and operationally.

You will take ownership of all aspects of financial management. This includes, financial planning and reporting, preparing management accounts, audits, bookkeeping, budget management, grant reporting, maintenance of financial systems and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

In terms of operational management, you will work with the Executive Director and support with HR, IT and Digital Security, Risk, Security and Compliance functions.

To be successful in this role, you will have a professional accounting qualification (e.g. ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA and other alternatives) or qualified by demonstrable experience. You will have experience working in NGO’s or organisations being funded primarily through grant funding.

You will have experience in financial reporting, budget management, audit preparation, grant reporting and presenting financial information to stakeholders. You will have a strong analytical mindset. You will be an excellent communicator who has experience liaising with a range of different stakeholders.

You will have experience/strong interest in at least one of the following areas: Human Resources, IT, Risk Management, Compliance, and a willingness to develop your knowledge of these areas.

Desirably, you will have experience dealing with USAID, EU, UN, and other bi-lateral and multi-lateral funding. You will also have experience managing digital tools/software’s and asset registers.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Events Officer responsible for devising, delivering, and growing a high-impact events programme that drives income and enhances brand awareness, overseeing event logistics, managing risk, digital fundraising initiatives, and working with internal and external stakeholders to maximise engagement and return on investment. 

The Senior Events Officer will lead a dynamic and high-profile events programme, through a strategic and considered approach. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional supporter experiences, developing new income opportunities, and ensuring Shaftesbury’s brand is represented professionally across all events. This includes sports and challenge events, special events with high profile attendees (such as HRH engagements and major donor functions), and strategic event partnerships. 

With a creative and strategic mindset, you will demonstrate:

• Proven experience in leading, managing, and delivering successful fundraising events, including sports and challenge events and ideally high-profile events, including working with major donors, VIPs, or royal engagements.
• Financial acumen and an analytical approach with experience in budget management, financial planning, and meeting income targets, and the ability to analyse event performance metrics and provide strategic recommendations for growth.
• Your ability to develop and execute events that align with organisational brand and engagement objectives, managing relationships with corporate sponsors, event partners and key stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple events simultaneously, understanding of risk assessments, health & safety policies, and all event compliance requirements.
• Strong digital literacy, including website content management, online ticketing platforms, and social media engagement, and proficient in using event management software, CRM systems (e.g. Raisers Edge, Salesforce), and digital fundraising tools.

ECHO supports children and young people with heart conditions and their families, who have been treated within the Guy's and St Thomas' NHS network of 47 hospitals. Congenital heart disease is the most common birth defect and affects just under 1 in every 100 babies born throughout the UK.

ECHO helps from diagnosis, which is often during pregnancy, throughout any treatment and care pathway or bereavement. Families are supported at every stage of their heart child’s journey throughout childhood, teenage years and during the transition to adult services.

ECHO’s new Engagement Coordinator will be confident, self-motivated, and capable of managing projects independently. They will be responsible for building strong relationships with stakeholders, coordinating engagement activities, and ensuring these are executed successfully.
