The Transformation Officer post will become a focal point of support to Transformation leaders, a member of the Change Review Forum and Portfolio Steering Group.  Will provide support across the Transformation function in a wide-ranging role.  From performing a system administrator role for our portfolio management system (which is yet to be live), preparation and analysis of key outputs for reporting. About the role - Your main duties will include: 

• Carrying out a crucial role in managing, maintaining and supporting the portfolio management system. Performing advanced tasks in the system, providing user support, facilitating workflow improvements.
• Support the delivery of transformation interventions to ensure buy-in and commitment to organisational change and facilitate successful project/activity outcomes.
• Analysing impact on specific groups, working with Change Review Forum and Portfolio Steering Group to schedule optimal slots for delivery.

SignHealth is a passionate and unique deaf-led charity, committed to creating a future where there are no barriers to good health and wellbeing for deaf people.

Key Responsibilities

1. User Engagement and Relationship Management

 2. Content Creation and Communications

• Develop and implement a communication strategy for the organisation to set our key messages, approach and KPIs for engaging with individual, community and professional audiences as well as for internal communications.

• Support the Social Media Officer in developing and implementing a communications plan in particular focused on our social media based activities and content creation.

• Oversee and produce high-quality content for digital platforms, newsletters, reports, and publications that engage and inform our audience.

• Lead on creating and placing feature articles, policy briefings and press releases, and serve as the main media contact to ensure consistent, clear messaging. 

3. Policy, Campaigning, and Advocacy

• Work with the CEO to develop and implement, through the Policy and Campaigns Team, a campaigns strategy that responds to the needs of the neuromuscular community and creates positive, meaningful change for our community.

• Collaborate with the Campaigns and Advocacy Officer to formulate and promote evidence-based policy positions, engaging key stakeholders in government, healthcare, and related sectors.

• Support the Campaigns and Advocacy Officer to expand the Pathfinders advocacy service and drive referrals to the service.

• Represent the organisation at events, sector meetings, and forums to build our profile and increase our influence on policy issues relevant to our community.

 4. Team Leadership and Development

• Manage, support, and foster the professional growth of the Engagement Officer, Social Media Officer, and Campaigns and Advocacy Officer, building a collaborative and empowered team.

• Set team objectives and KPIs, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback to ensure alignment with organisational goals and impact.

5. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development

• Cultivate relationships with relevant stakeholders, including influencers, partner organisations, funders, policymakers, and the neuromuscular community.

• Work closely with the CEO to manage community partnerships, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and expanding opportunities for user engagement.

  6. Organisational management

• Support the CEO with the overall running of the organisation by attending meetings of the management committee as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, taking on additional tasks as agreed.

• Provide contingency support to the  Senior Leadership Team to cover essential tasks such as reporting hours to our payroll team in the event of staff absence.

• Maintain an overview of projects and teams across the organisation to provide short-term management and HR support in the event of staff shortages or incapacity.

• Review, approve and document payments in the charity using our software and finance process.

• Support the development of funding bids and project plans for introducing new projects.

• Represent the Senior Leadership Team at external events and in meetings with Trustees and Members.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public policy, engagement, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 3-years experience in a communications, policy, or engagement role, ideally within a charity or non-profit setting.

• Experience engaging directly with user communities and developing outreach initiatives.

• Strong writing and editing skills with experience producing content for a variety of platforms including Youtube.

• Experience managing a small team to achieve strategic objectives.

• Knowledge of or strong interest in the healthcare, disability, or neuromuscular sector is desirable.

• Lived experience of a neuromuscular condition is desirable but not essential.

Legacy Stewardship Manager

The Legacy Stewardship Manager will plan and deliver an ambitious new legacy stewardship strategy to bring about growth in future legacy income.  It will diversify the current legacy stewardship programme to convert more legacy prospects and maintain more pledgers using a combination of relationship and mass fundraising activities. It will be responsible for planning and delivering high quality communications and experiences which make supporters feel inspired, valued and deepen relationships with them over the long-term.

This role is critical in growing future legacy income for RNID, which currently represents 72% of RNID’s income. It will play a pivotal role in a Legacy Fundraising Team of four people, reporting into the Head of Legacies, working alongside the Legacy Marketing Manager and line managing the Gifts in Wills Specialist Officer.

This role is a new addition to a growing team in an organisation where legacy fundraising has a high profile.  It is an ideal next step for an experienced and confident legacy fundraiser wanting to make their mark by growing the legacy stewardship programme to a new ambitious level that matches an increased investment in legacy acquisition.

About the role and Wen’s Climate Sisters Programme 

The Climate Sisters project aims to make systemic change by amplifying underrepresented marginalised and racialised women's voices in climate justice debates and in the transition to a low-carbon economy. The 5 year project aims to engage women in Manchester and the North West through a participatory climate leadership programme. The project involves two phases. Phase One is a 10 week Feminist Climate Leadership workshop programme where groups of women collectively explore their priorities for climate justice at individual, local, regional, national and international levels. Phase Two involves participants developing creative projects to showcase the ideas and solutions from the combined cohort from the Phase One programme, working collaboratively with regular support sessions. The aim of this programme is to amplify and centre the voices of the underrepresented and marginalised women specifically in the climate arena. The approach to this will be underpinned by values that challenge patriarchy, colonialism and white supremacy, ableism and uphold care, collectivity, collaboration and non-competitive sisterhood.

The Climate Sisters Programme Manager will lead and manage this programme working closely with community partners and participants to deliver and inspire a participatory, impactful and co-produced project. The Climate Sisters Programme Manager will manage, supervise and motivate the Climate Sisters Project Coordinator.

Key responsibilities: 

Planning and Delivery 

• Take overall responsibility for the strategic planning, management and direction of the Climate Sisters Programme in your region

• Think creatively and ensure the Climate Sisters Programme is developed to meet its aims and ambitious vision 

• Ensure that the agreed project outcomes are delivered successfully and on time 

• Tailor, adapt, and deliver the Climate Sisters Feminist Climate Leadership Programme to each cohort in their respective communities

• Organise events to showcase the project, working collaboratively to co-produce these 

• Facilitate positive, collaborative communication and teamwork across the programme and strengthen links with Wen’s other areas of work and national campaigns 

• Ensure that the project is developed and delivered in line with Wen’s inclusive, intersectional and eco-feminist values 

Partnership management 

• Manage relationships with the project partners. Working closely with them to review and develop how the programme is delivered to ensure impact 

• Identify opportunities to amplify Climate Sisters participant voices in the climate space

• Build and develop partnerships with the other regional Climate Sisters Programme Managers 

• Support the Climate Sisters Network/movement, and Steering Group (core partners), enabling co-production in these spaces 

Administration and management 

• Line manage the Climate Sisters Project Coordinator

• Manage the regional project budget, ensuring that all partners keep suitable records of their expenditure and abide by Wen’s financial policies and procedures

• Ensure all project reporting, monitoring & evaluation and administration is undertaken

• Identify funding opportunities and support project fundraising 

Influencing and movement building 

• Develop knowledge and expertise in key areas of feminist climate leadership and spot opportunities to link the programme into local and national policy arenas 

• Actively participate in movement building locally and nationally, nurturing relationships with existing partners and building new ones. Share learning from the Climate Sisters programme 

Celebrating impact and sharing learning

• Develop a communications plan for the Climate Sisters Programme including web content and social media posts working closely with Wen’s Communications team

• Amplify racialised and marginalised women’s  voices through different platforms, supporting inclusive and empowering narratives around women’s climate leadership 

• Implement monitoring and evaluation processes, working with participants and partners to share learning, improve the project and evidence impact

• Record and build on the year-on-year learnings and achievements to produce a Climate Sisters legacy

• Build the profile of the Climate Sisters Programme, identifying local, national and international platforms where project learnings can be shared, and representing Wen 

Building community engagement 

• Communicate the project’s aims to community prospective and existing partners and individuals 

• Identify key partners not already engaged in the project and work with them to build involvement

Person specification 

Essential Experience & Knowledge 

• At least 2 years’ experience in managing the delivery of a project or programme with a proven ability to think strategically, build effective collaborative relationships with multiple and diverse stakeholders

• Experience of working in women’s, environmental or community organisations or groups

• Experience of working on environmental, gender, racial and social justice issues with a proven intersectional feminist approach to climate justice 

• Experience of delivering and designing training workshops to diverse audiences using participatory and inclusive approaches, facilitating women and community led solutions

• Excellent communication skills; the ability to communicate complex ideas and theories in simple and relatable terms across different platforms and audiences and to build effective collaborative relationships with a diverse range of groups and individuals 

• Ability to recognise/ challenge dominant norms, awareness of yours and your organisation’s positionality and understanding of visible and invisible power dynamics 

• Experience of co-producing events, managing budgets, monitoring, evaluation and reporting to funders

About the role

At Young Lives vs Cancer, we have our own unique role to play in reaching the North Star. We know our strengths and where we can have the most impact to best support children and young people with cancer. Within our new strategy ‘The Time is Now’ we set out four strategic ambitions, the first stating we will continue to be a major service delivery provider: offering high quality, impactful services. We are proud to lead the way in delivering high-level, psychosocial support and accommodation services throughout cancer treatment, end-of-life, and bereavement and we want to ensure our investment in this area is optimised to make sure we always provide the tailored support that children, young people and families need and that our services remain relevant.

You will be joining an established operational leadership team who are committed to continuous service improvement. Service Managers play a key leadership role in the management and development of a region, which is made up of three social work teams located alongside Principal Treatment Centres which are Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield. Your responsibilities will include delivering service standards, and compliance. You will interface with NHS stakeholder colleagues to promote effective governance and multi-disciplinary relationships with a focus on smooth referral pathways. The team meets weekly to discuss management of the overall service-this effectively allows all team members to play an active role. In addition, to your designated region you will have a lead area of responsibility-this will be Deputy Safeguarding Lead. This role works closely with the Head of Safeguarding to ensure effective management of safeguarding across the charity as well as spanning workforce development and the promotion of best practice.

This position has four direct reports, 3 Team Managers and one Regional Service Coordinator, the latter provides support to the Service Manager and regional teams.

Role description

As our director of digital and information security, you will lead our digital risk and resilience team and programme in order to help build resistance and resilience among the people and movements challenging unaccountable power.

Your focus in this senior role at this crucial time will be on leadership, strategy, growth, and culture, with specific responsibility for our digital risk and resilience programme, internal information security, and tech transformation. Your responsibilities will include:

Lead our digital risk and resilience programme

1. Manage the design and delivery of our digital and information security support, including:
   • Coordinate the digital security mentoring, accompaniment, and capacity sharing we deliver to at-risk activists and low-resource civil society organisations referred through our rapid response mechanism.
   • Oversee the professional information security consultancy and advisory services we provide to high-profile nonprofit and foundation clients.
   • Develop our holistic security approach and ensure the smooth delivery of holistic security projects as part of our cross-programme leadership group.
2. Lead a team of digital and information security professionals and technologists, including:
   • Build and maintain an effective team, and recruit, onboard, and mentor new consultants as required to meet increased demand or to fill gaps.

‬‭In order to ensure that we comply with local laws and regulations, Open Briefing staff based‬ outside the United Kingdom will be contracted locally through an‬‭ employer of record‬‭ (EOR).‬ Wherever possible, we apply the same terms and conditions of employment to all staff,‬ whether employed directly or through an EOR. Where there are differences due to local laws and regulations, we will apply the better of the provisions set out above or the local statutory requirements.

1. What excites you about Open Briefing and this role?
2. In this role, you’ll support civic actors facing complex threats from state, corporate, or criminal adversaries. These actors often have limited resources, knowledge, or experience to identify or respond to such risks. What do you see as the key factors when designing effective digital and information security strategies in this context? If possible, please share an example of a role or project in which you tackled similar challenges
3. Our team is diverse in language, culture, location, working style, and employment model. Many of our consultants work with us part-time, alongside other clients, and are embedded in a wider ecosystem. Your role will be to support their growth, match them to the right work, and integrate their efforts across a broader, cross-functional team. What challenges would you anticipate in leading such a diverse, distributed team? Please share an example of a role in which you managed similar challenges – ideally within a global civil society or service-oriented organisation.
