About the role:

At Single Homeless Project (SHP), our Health Team has expanded and strengthened over the last five years, and we are now looking for someone who can help drive its next stage of growth. Working across our hostels, TST and Housing First services, you will be at the centre of a service that brings health support directly to those who need it most, removing barriers to care and giving people the tools to take control of their own wellbeing. Leading our Specialist Health Leads, you will guide a team who are pivotal in helping clients recognise their health needs, engage with essential services and build lasting independence. Alongside this, you will forge strong working relationships with GPs, nurses, occupational health professionals and psychologists, ensuring that our clients are supported by the very best of both SHP and our external partners.
No two days will be the same. You will combine leadership with hands-on collaboration, from supporting staff development to building partnerships, to ensuring our approach is informed by robust data. Collecting, analysing and presenting this information will be key in demonstrating our impact, shaping practice and strengthening grant applications with our fundraising team. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Programme Development Manager represents an evolution from our Programme Manager role, focusing on shaping the future direction of The Avenues Youth Project's programmes whilst maintaining oversight of current delivery. This isn't just about managing what we do now, it's about looking ahead and designing what comes next.
Working closely with the Programme Director, you will be responsible for researching innovative approaches to youth work, developing funding proposals, and creating programmes that respond to the changing needs of young people aged 8-19. We need someone who can think creatively about engagement whilst keeping an eye on emerging trends and opportunities in the sector.
As a member of the senior team, you'll help embed our values throughout the organisation and ensure our programmes remain at the cutting edge of youth work practice.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Programme Innovation and Strategic Development
Programme Design and Innovation
● Research and develop innovative programme concepts that address emerging needs of young people within the community, utilising best practice from across the youth work sector.
● Lead comprehensive design processes for new initiatives, collaborating with lead youth workers, young people, families and community partners to ensure programmes are relevant and effective.
● Create detailed programme frameworks incorporating learning outcomes, delivery models, resource requirements and sustainability strategies.
● Plan, develop and deliver allocated youth work projects that meet organisational aims, taking responsibility for budgeting, planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation.
Current Programme Oversight
● Collaborate in overseeing the recruitment, retention and progress of young people across assigned programmes, working to ensure consistent engagement and positive outcomes.
● Participate in necessary working groups and initiatives on behalf of the team, liaising with a wide range of youth service providers to ensure AYP is represented in appropriate forums and relevant partnerships.
● Have proactive contact and engagement within the community, maintaining visibility and building relationships that support programme delivery.
● Work with the Programme Operations Manager to report and respond to the Programme Director and senior team on the planning, development, delivery and progress of youth work programmes.
● Ensure all data collection, documents and record keeping is up-to-date and meets the requirements of the Impact and Evaluation Manager.
● Monitor programme attendance patterns and young people's progression, identifying opportunities for enhanced engagement or additional support.
● Coordinate with the Programme Operations Manager and Lead Youth Workers to ensure consistency of approach and share effective practices across different programme areas.
Community Partnerships and External Relations
Strategic Relationship Building
● Establish and maintain strategic relationships with schools, colleges, community organisations, local authorities and other youth providers to develop collaborative networks.
● Represent AYP at community forums, working groups and sector events, maintaining awareness of local priorities and identifying partnership opportunities.
● Develop collaborative programmes with partner organisations, combining resources and expertise to maximise impact.
● Engage with families and community members to understand their aspirations for young people.
Programme Partnerships
· Support the Programme Director in developing and maintaining key relationships and partnerships.
· Establish positive working relationships with external agencies delivering youth work with us and those supporting organisational development.
· Work with the Engagement, Communities and Culture Manager, to develop and maintain effective long-term community partnerships to boost membership at AYP.
Research, Evaluation and Quality Assurance
Evidence-Based Development
● Maintain current knowledge of research and best practice in youth work, particularly relating to our target demographics.
● Commission or conduct research projects to inform programme development decisions and enhance service delivery.
● Collaborate with the Impact and Evaluation Manager, to analyse data from existing programmes to identify effective practices and areas requiring improvement.
● Collaborate with the Impact and Evaluation Manager to establish robust evaluation frameworks for new programmes.
● Work with the Impact and Evaluation Manager to understand and articulate funder objectives throughout programme design and delivery.
Quality Standards and Continuous Improvement
● Develop quality standards and frameworks for all programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational values.
● Collaborate with the HR Manager to create comprehensive training materials and guidance documentation for staff delivering new programmes.
● Monitor programme quality through systematic observation, feed \back collection and data analysis.
● Lead programme effectiveness reviews and provide recommendations for improvement.
● Liaise with external quality assurance bodies, inspectors, and regulatory authorities as required.
Staff Leadership and Development
● Line Management of Programme Operations Manager and Lead Youth Workers - including regular observations, formal supervisions, annual appraisals, and investing in their professional development.
● Attend Line Managers training and regular sessions with HR Manager.
● Deliver reflective practice sessions to the youth work team to support continuous professional development as part of our Learning and Development plan, in collaboration with HR Manager.
● Assist in recruiting or contracting new workers, tutors or teachers as required.
Funding and Financial
Strategic Funding Development
● Collaborate with the Fundraising Manager to identify funding opportunities that support programme development priorities and organisational objectives.
● Contribute to funding applications for new programme areas, ensuring proposals demonstrate clear impact potential and realistic delivery plans.
● Develop comprehensive business cases for programme expansion, including cost-benefit analysis and risk assessment.
● Monitor funding environments and policy developments that may influence programme design.
Financial Administration
● Work with the Finance Controller to ensure high-level financial administration and record keeping, with accountability for project expenditure.
● Maintain clear understanding of AYP's programme budgets and finances, with responsibility for budgeting, monitoring and reporting of assigned budgets.
● Participate in regular budget meetings with the Programme Director and work with the Finance Controller to ensure costs remain within budget.
● Check and approve Lead Youth Workers timesheets for allocated budgets and resolve discrepancies.
Safeguarding and Compliance
● Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and carry out responsibilities in strict accordance with AYP's Safeguarding Policy,
● Work with TACs, PRUs, Police, Early Help Teams, MARFS, LADO etc. where required to ensure safety of all young people, staff and volunteers,
● Act as main point of contact for safeguarding referrals, working in partnership with other agencies to ensure safety and wellbeing,
● Maintain comprehensive knowledge of safeguarding practices and current legislation.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· In conjunction with your Line Manager to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Avenues.
· Participate in internal/external meetings as required, and attend training events, conferences, and other functions as necessary.
· Participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.

The Role
As a Face-to-Face (F2F) Fundraising Area Manager, you'll lead and inspire a team of membership fundraisers based primarily in the West Midlands with coverage across Shropshire and Worcestershire and this wider vibrant area. Your leadership will play a crucial role in meeting ambitious fundraising targets while upholding the highest standards in ethical fundraising.
As well as line managing a direct team of up to 8 fundraisers, you'll work closely with reserves within your geographical area and lead on National Shows at the NEC to maximise membership opportunity for the charity.

The Generous Giving Manager is a very exciting and influential role at the Diocese, as you will build on the strong and energetic foundations within our two-person Generous Giving Team to strengthen the financial sustainability of local churches by encouraging generosity in time, talents and financial giving.
Working closely with deaneries, parishes and their leadership teams, you will identify local challenges and opportunities for generous giving, sharing innovative giving practices to help parishes and deaneries develop creative and effective ways to resource their mission.
Communicating clearly and inspiringly the principles of Christian giving to diverse audiences, you will keep up to date with National Church resources, promoting and supporting a wide range of giving methods such as the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS), online and contactless giving. You will also offer guidance to parish officers for resources on giving campaigns, legacies and grant funding.

ROLE PURPOSE

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Staff management
1.1. Carry out all line management duties in line with organisational policy and procedure, including:
- Diversity and inclusion - encouraging an inclusive environment.
- Recruiting and inducting good quality staff o Proactively addressing performance, conduct or other employee relations issues.
- Support and coach your direct report to ensure objectives and development goals are achieved.
2. Management of Income and Payments Processing Operations
2.1. Responsible for ensuring that all fundraising and investment income is accurately recorded in the finance system.
2.2. Ensure the reconciliation of all income data from the bank against Raiser’s Edge (CRM system) to ensure data is accurate and complete and then recorded in the finance system once reconciled.
2.3. Manage an efficient and effective Accounts Payable function, ensuring that the work performed by the Senior Finance Assistant is at the required standard.
2.4. Lead on all communications with internal stakeholders, including Trust finance and Special Purpose Fund Advisers, to resolve any issues arising and produce monitoring reports on a regular basis.
3. Transactional accounting and fund management
3.1. Ensure systems are in place to identify and correctly record restricted donations, so that these are properly monitored and utilised.
4. Financial Control Framework
4.1. In consultation with the Director of Finance & Operations, ensure that appropriate controls, processes and procedures are in place, regularly reviewed and assessed for operational effectiveness.
4.2. Review and update Finance Procedures and effectively communicate these to staff, arranging training where necessary, within the Finance Department and across the Charity.
4.3. Ensure effective maintenance of the balance sheet, including regular key control account reconciliations (bank and other).
4.4. Monitoring of balances with the Trust, ensuring these are promptly settled, with discrepancies investigated and resolved.
5. Management Reporting
5.1. Delivery of timely and accurate monthly management accounts for the Charity, including enhancing the production process and communication of timetables.
5.2. Co-ordinate the production of narrative reports to support review by the Director of Finance & Operations.
6. Financial reporting and audit
6.1. Lead the Finance team in the production of financial statements which are fully compliant with the Charity SORP to meet required audit and Board approval deadlines.
6.2. Lead the relationship with external auditors and all arrangements surrounding the annual audit fieldwork.
6.3. Preparing required audit documentation in accordance with agreed timetables.
7. Budgeting and Forecasting
7.1. Assist the Director of Finance & Operations in the production of annual budgets, working closely with budget holders within the Charity to ensure completed in accordance with agreed timescales.
7.2. Lead on the quarterly re-forecast process, producing relevant analyses to understand and monitor key changes.
8. Banking and Investments
8.1. Work alongside the Director of Finance & Operations to maintain a strong relationship with the Charity’s banking and investment managers and take the lead on the day to day administration of the banking arrangements.
8.2. Ensure that bank mandates are up to date.
9. Systems and Data
9.1. Finance system
- Liaise with Application’s Supplier and Trust Systems support team in the maintenance and development of the finance system, ensuring essential maintenance are carried out as necessary to prevent cyber fraud and maintain data integrity.
- Provide support to the Finance team for the accounting functionality within the finance accounting application and its integrated systems.
9.2. System maintenance and training
- Support the Director of Finance and Operations with managing user access, permissions and privileges on the finance system, ensuring that any changes to staff are reflected immediately.
- Ensure all new staff are trained on the Finance System and that current staff receive updates as necessary.
Any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Director of Finance & Operations.

Requirements
To be successful, you will need:

The Mass Market team’s mission is to inspire the UK public to financially support the IRC to help people impacted by conflict and disaster. The purpose of this role is to support the Director, Mass Markets by implementing the Retention strategy in order to generate long-term sustainable growth, cultivate a loyal and engaged donor base and maximise net revenue.
As Retention Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for annual operational planning and delivery across for the retention programme, including for emergency appeals. You will work closely with the Director, Mass Markets to create and manage significant annual budgets, ensuring return on investment is maximised at all times. Supported by the Retention Marketing Executive, you will oversee all campaign activity, ensuring that it meets the strategic objectives and financial goals of the department.

Key accountabilities
Strategy and planning
- Support the Director, Mass Markets in the development and delivery of the retention strategy and priorities
- Identify, scope and deliver new and innovative opportunities that advance the retention strategy
- Manage retention operational planning, including leading annual, quarterly and monthly planning sessions, defining key deliverables and ensuring all activity supports the aims of the retention strategy
- Manage the monitoring and reporting framework to track performance against strategic objectives
- Identify and brief support requirements with internal and external partners in order to maximise activity and ensure the smooth running of back-office operations
- Build, manage and distribute a detailed marketing plan (refreshed quarterly) in line with strategic priorities and objectives, ensuring activities are co-ordinated, integrated and maximised with other Mass Market UK teams.
Budget management
- Manage segments of the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting process, identifying opportunities for savings, additional investment, or budget reallocation
- Focus on maximising return on investment at all times, and make suggestions for contingency action as necessary to achieve budgeted income target
- Lead on tracking and reconciling retention income and expenditure budget lines, providing variance reporting to support the Director, Mass Markets regular financial reporting
Campaign management
- Oversee, plan and deliver multi-channel revenue and engagement campaigns, including emergencies, ensuring all activity is designed to inspire and engage supporters
- Oversee the design and implementation of customer journeys across all segments and products, in order to increase loyalty, average value and product holdings
- Lead the development and management of the mid-level portfolio, including regular communications, donor events, and identification and development of prospects into active donating advocates of the IRC
- Oversee work to ensure it is completed to standard, on time and within budget and act as overflow support during peak times, such as emergencies
- Work closely with equivalent team members in other national markets (i.e. Korea, Germany, Sweden, US) and the Mass Market support team to ensure all activity is coordinated and maximised
Insight, analysis and data management
- Work closely with the Analytics team to identify and manage analytics requirements and to draw actionable insights from performance data
- Oversee and sign off detailed end of campaign reports, ensuring all relevant information is documented and used to inform future activity
- Monitor day-to-day metrics, identifying and acting on performance issues and opportunities
Leadership and management
- Line manage and develop the Retention Marketing Executive(s), ensuring performance objectives are managed throughout the year and opportunities for training, development and progression are identified and prioritised
- Work closely with other team members to increase connection across Mass Markets, with the ultimate aim of developing a seamless progression for new donors and prospects into further cultivation
- Manage day-to-day relationships with external suppliers, ensuring performance is to standard and opportunities to drive value for money from existing and new suppliers are identified, and supporting with the preparation of quarterly business reviews, as required
General
- Keep up to date with the sector developments in individual giving to ensure IRC is at the forefront of fundraising developments
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation, best practice and industry standards and adhere to all relevant regulation including the Fundraising Regulator and ICO.
- Ensure all fundraising and marketing is ethical, effective and supporter centric
- This post may involve some travel, overnight stays and very occasional working outside core office hours, e.g. during an emergency appeal
- Undertake any other additional tasks as requested by the Director, Mass Markets

Experience:
- Experience and understanding of Individual Giving and retention programmes, with a proven track record of successfully delivering revenue and engagement activities across multiple channels**
- Experience of line management**
- Experience and understanding of creative process and relationship with brand identity through different channels and audiences**
- Experience of operational planning and campaign management**
- Experience of working in a fast-paced, high performing team
- Experience working for a centralised, international organisation would be an advantage
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
- Understanding of cash and recurring revenue business models**
- Proven experience of audience and donor segmentation, analytical modelling such as LTV and use of insights to drive campaign and programme performance
- Driven and proactive with a solutions-based approach
- Excellent verbal and written English and the ability to produce high-quality reports
- Commercially minded, with the ability to balance both long-term and short-term activity and objectives
- Excellent IT skills across Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Numerate with excellent data analysis and interpretation skills, ideally with understanding of analytical software such as PowerBI
- Excellent organisational skills, especially the ability to manage a complex, varied and substantial workload
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
