We are looking for a Prospect Research & Donor Insight Manager to join the National Theatre Development Team.

The purpose of the role

This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of fundraising at the National Theatre, as we look to grow our income from individual members, major donors, trusts and corporate organisations.

Working with the Senior Prospect Research & Donor Insight Manager, you will develop a strong fundraising pipeline that will ensure the team can reach their long-term targets.

Your natural curiosity will lead you to identify new opportunities using a variety of online sources in combination with the NT’s database, Tessitura, and you will be able to articulate your recommendations to fundraisers in a concise and compelling way. With excellent attention to detail, this role also undertakes due diligence research into potential funders to assess any risks to the NT of accepting funds. This role also manages the Development Operations Assistant, who leads the day-to-day administration of the Development database.

The role has scope to offer insights across the whole Development team and NT senior management, and would suit a strong collaborator with enthusiasm for the work of the NT.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

• Experience of managing prospect research projects and supporting prospect pipeline management in a fundraising environment.

• Experience of Tessitura or other customer relations management systems.

• Proven ability to gather and interpret information for relevance from a variety of sources.

• An appreciation for donor motivations and ability to make thoughtful connections with projects.

• Evidence of the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner, both written and orally.

In this role, you will pro-actively lead the development of their Philanthropy and Fundraising Partnerships team as it seeks to acquire new charity partnerships and high value donors and build on their existing funding base. You will be comfortable with using a wide range of fundraising and marketing channels to acquire new funders, as well as steward existing donors.

Your key responsibilities include:

Philanthropy and fundraising partnerships programme management

- Lead on the development and operational delivery of the philanthropy and fundraising partnerships strategy, encompassing work across the high-value donor, legacies, trusts, and corporate fundraising income streams.
- Lead on maintaining our clients relationships with existing high-value donors and funders, through the provision of exemplary stewardship.
- Drive the development and testing of new means of acquiring high-value donors and funders for them, to deliver sustainable growth.
- Oversee the continued development and growth of their global legacy programme, including the production of legacy mailings, telemarketing, offline and digital advertising, and features, as well as correspondence with supporters, solicitors, and other stakeholders.

- Provide supportive and dynamic line management for members of the Philanthropy and Fundraising Partnerships team, including facilitating regular supervision meetings and supporting their personal development and training.
- Serve as a member of the Global Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Leadership Team.
- Keep up to date with the latest legislative and statutory developments relating to the role, advising staff and the Senior Leadership Team as appropriate.

Your knowledge:

- Proven knowledge of fundraising and/or marketing.

We have an exciting 18-month fixed term opportunity to join British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Health Partnerships & Community Resuscitation Team to deliver partnerships which make a lifesaving, life improving impact.

Through our work we want to reach more people, in new ways, with greater impact, involving more people in their heart and circulatory health and care, and in the work of BHF. This will improve health outcomes and help ensure that BHF strengthens its position as the nation’s heart charity.

About the role

In this role you’ll contribute to the operational delivery of innovative health partnerships for BHF. These partnerships help us to reach, on a mass scale, people at risk or living with heart and circulatory diseases; working with large corporate organisations, other charities, and community groups to provide information, support and skills in innovative ways to improve health awareness, support self-management and reduce health inequalities.

As part of the Health Partnerships team, you’ll support several health partners, delivering agreed activity and maximising the opportunity to reach their workforce and customers with our free health initiatives.

You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across BHF particularly in our Medical and Marketing, Fundraising and Engagement teams, as well as external partners to meet agreed aims and objectives. You’ll also work closely with other delivery teams (e.g. Clinical Support, Health Content, Community Resuscitation and Customer Service Teams) to create an integrated and seamless customer experience for your partners.

Obtaining a comprehensive knowledge of our health offerings during your induction, you’ll develop a warm and productive relationship with your key accounts and ensure the delivery of activity is fulfilled effectively and efficiently and that your partners needs and opportunities for growth are appropriately identified so that they receive the best possible experience from the BHF. 

Working arrangements

Please note this is an 18 month fixed term contract.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office. 
 
At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average.  The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

About you

With knowledge and an understanding of BHF and organisational objectives, you’ll have previous experience delivering projects in large, complex organisations, as well as the knack of  developing relationships with internal and external key stakeholders quickly, and with ease.

You’ll have previous experience supporting the delivery of high impact partnerships in either a charity or health-related environment and will have experience managing own workload and key areas of responsibility.

To be successful in this role you’ll have the following skills and experience:
• Good relationship management skills, showing empathy and resilience in handling challenging situations. 
• Excellent planning and prioritisation skills, with the flexibility to deal with reactive demands
• Ability to think creatively and work collaboratively to approach partnerships in exciting new ways
• Passionate about improving outcomes for people at risk or living with heart and circulatory diseases
• Willingness to learn new skills and build knowledge of different areas of the organisation
• Adept in Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems

About the role

Our highest impact projects rely on experts from specialists from a range of disciplines both inside and outside of JRF working together effectively.

The purpose of the Delivery and Partnerships Lead is to enable multidisciplinary project teams to succeed in their objectives by applying the most relevant delivery and project management techniques and frameworks with a solutions-focused approach, alongside providing critical administrative and logistical support to keep projects in their portfolios moving forward.

As a member of our internal resources team, they will also contribute to relevant project teams/work streams set up by the team lead to deliver cross-JRF team events, new initiatives and/or develop, embed, and manage efficient business processes to ensure effective running of the system as a whole.

About you

This role is ideal for someone with strong project and/or delivery management skills and experience, who is passionate about JRF’s mission and committed to contributing to social change.

You will be highly competent at delivering multiple complex projects simultaneously, strong administration skills, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a team player who can build strong and effective personal relationships across JRF as well as externally.
