As Programme Manager you will lead our critical relationships and day to day activities with SPANA Senior Partners in overseas country offices delivering our international programmes. You will be responsible for managing activities across SPANA’s international programme work including budget reporting, grant making and management as well as procurement. You are a key part of SPANA’s Global Programs Department (GPD) team and report to the Senior Programmes Manager.

About the Role
You will be joining at an exciting time for Ataxia UK as we celebrate our 60th anniversary year.
This brand-new role is an important part of our new strategy to sustainably grow our unrestricted income. Working closely with the Director of Fundraising & Communications and the wider team, the Senior Philanthropy Manager will lead the work to build a pipeline of major donors and family trusts and foundations.
You will be responsible for developing an excellent stewardship programme which nurtures income-generating relationships with Ataxia UK’s major donors. You will initially work with a fixed-term Philanthropy Consultant to lead the development of a researched and actionable pipeline of prospective new donors, and you will then work to successfully engage this pipeline. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a brand-new function as a senior member of an experienced team of fundraisers.
Ataxia UK operates a hybrid- working policy, with part time staff working 3 or 4 days a week expected to work from our offices in Highgate a minimum of 1 day a week. The role will require some occasional travel within the UK and, more rarely, internationally.
About you
The right candidate will be a natural relationship builder with a proven track record of securing high value, long term partnerships with major donors; personally securing 5 and 6-figure gifts.
You will use excellent communication skills to write compelling and tailored cases for support. As a key member of the Fundraising & Communications department, you will bring creativity, insight and experience to the team, and you will be a confident ambassador and representative internally and externally.
As an experienced major donor fundraiser, you will be comfortable and confident engaging with High-Net-Worth Individuals and their offices, celebrities, politicians and c-suite professionals. You will have the flexibility to join events and or meet donors and prospective donors at locations around the UK. As an ambassador of our brand, you will have the skills and experience to ensure you positively represent the interests of the ataxia community, and you will be someone who shares our commitment to supporting those affected by ataxia.

Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most.
Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme currently supports about 3,000 children a year. It pairs disadvantaged, struggling five to eight-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who come from over 140 local and national businesses. About the role
Chapter One is seeking a proactive, energetic and enthusiastic Corporate Partnerships Manager to be an integral part of a team which aims to both maximise corporate income and deliver an excellent partner and volunteer experience.
Reporting to our Head of Corporate Partnerships, and responsible for the line management of our Corporate Partnerships Officer, you’ll deliver on our annual volunteer and income targets and maintain our strong partner retention rate (target 87%). This will involve supporting the account management of a portfolio of existing partners and the responsibility to nurture relationships to increase partner investment in Chapter One over time. Key Responsibilities
Partner Stewardship

Lead the account management of a selected portfolio of corporate partners, ensuring Chapter One achieves its annual retention and growth targets

In collaboration with the Head of Corporate Partnerships, devise effective schemes of delegation and partner allocation within the Corporate Partnerships Team

Partner/volunteer onboarding and experience

Alongside the Head of Corporate Partnerships, use internal systems to assign partner teams and volunteers to specific schools and ensure that their needs are met

Develop proactive, supportive relationships with Volunteer Coordinators in partner organisations, providing high-quality data and information in a timely manner

Work closely with the Volunteer Support Team to ensure that partner and volunteer onboarding is a smooth, time-efficient experience

You will be working with the Director of Policy and Strategic Partnerships in the development and delivery of MAG’s advocacy work, including leadership of MAG’s UK parliamentary engagement, and contribution to the European and US engagement strategies.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of engaging and influencing UK parliamentarians, including the House of Commons and House of Lords, in support of advocacy objectives through a variety of tactics. Purpose of the Role
The Helpline Manager will manage and provide support and advice to a team of Helpline Support, Caseworkers, IDVA, and Helpline volunteers who will be handling calls. The role will also include occasionally providing helpline cover during staff shortages. The helpline supports women on more than 45 different issues with most of the calls relate to violence against women and girls (VAWG) as well as mental health and wellbeing. The Helpline Manager will be responsible in ensuring that the service continues to be culturally sensitive and be able to respond to a diverse population of women with complex needs; managing the rota for staff and volunteers, ensuring there is sufficient helpline cover, identifying and managing safeguarding issues, monitoring staff performance, maintaining the helpline database, and providing helpline data to other staff.
The role will also include occasionally attending external stakeholder meetings and raising awareness of the helpline service. The Helpline Manager will also have some involvement in other MWNUK projects, services and activities as required. The role requires a proactive, organised and practical approach to ensure MWNUK’s projects are delivered effectively and efficiently, providing high quality support and customer service across the organisation, both internally and externally.
Main responsibilities

Supervising the Helpline team of 11 staff (however this is equivalent to 3 full-time staff per day only) and ensuring there is sufficient helpline cover and monitoring their wellbeing.

Recruiting and training helpline staff and volunteers with the support of senior management and ensuring their development needs are flagged up.

Monitoring performance of helpline staff through daily check-ins, debriefs, monthly supervision meetings and annual appraisals.

Holding regular helpline team meetings and sharing learning as well as identifying and sharing interesting cases with Senior Leadership Team including the Advocacy Officer.

Planning and delivering training to staff and volunteers in line with changes in law, policies and procedures, including safeguarding.

Regularly attending external meetings such as MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference), liaising with police, social services, and other partner agencies. These meetings are a critical part of safeguarding and time for preparation and follow-up is built into the role.

The Foundation Manager will report directly to the COO and act as the general manager of the charity, serving as the central pivot, which all operations revolve around. African Adventures Foundation is a registered charity set up in 2013 to provide support to 29 schools in developing areas of Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar.
These schools provide education, health and food security, and social support to young people whose access to these basic services would otherwise be very limited. African Adventures Foundation helps by funding food security programmes, the construction of important school facilities, and hygiene projects that will benefit children’s health and education. The role is centred around three core elements: charity management, programme delivery, and fundraising.
Responsibilities
1. Charity management (with support from the COO & Trustees)
- Line management of the Programme Officer in all respects including recruitment, conduct, capability, welfare, personal development.
- Indirect (matrix) management of the in-country Foundation Coordinators.
- Key member of the broader UK Management team.
- Support the COO and Chair of Trustees with the overall Governance framework of the charity including standards, processes and reporting.
- Primary point of contact for the board of Trustees day-to-day, supporting the Chair of the Trustees in the coordination and administration of Board activity.
- Lead on development, oversight and operation of charity standards, processes and systems.
- Work alongside the charities dedicated Finance Officer in ensuring good financial management of income and expenditure through planning, approvals, and processes.
- Attend a variety of external charitable, donor, and operational events or locations as required from time to time.
- Work closely with supporting departments like Finance, Marketing, and Travel Operations on all charity related matters.
- Handle day-to-day enquiries, questions, and issues related to the Foundation.
2. Programme Delivery (delivered by the Programme Officer)
- Ensure that a clear, documented process is in place for receiving, triaging, and managing requests related to volunteer projects and charity support.
- Lead the prioritisation process for articulated charitable requests, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained and properly documented.
- Support strong project management throughout the planning and delivery of approved charitable projects.
- Ensure a robust MEAL [Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning] process is in place for measuring and reporting on the impact of the charity’s work with its beneficiaries, donors, and trustees.
3. Fundraising (with support from the COO & Trustees)
- Responsible for the developing and managing the Fundraising Opportunities Portfolio ensuring all stakeholders have clear visibility of funding gaps and opportunities for current and prospective donors.
- Responsible for leading on developing fundraising activities as informed by the Fundraising Strategy to drive income and cover operational expenditure.
- Maintain strong Donor relationships and develop grant applications adding to support a healthy funding pipeline to ensure we meet the charities fundraising targets.
- Work with the Marketing Manager to ensure effective marketing and social media strategies in are in place and to maximise the opportunities they provide.
What We’re Looking For:
Due to the breadth of this role, we would only expect an incumbent to have relevant experience in 2 of the 3 core elements of the role as a minimum, but with a strong desire to develop and learn in the 3rd with dedicated support.

What is the role of the Manager?
As manager, with the support of the deputy(s), you will organise varied and fun breaks for our guests. This includes carrying out assessments for new guests, supporting the team to deliver respite care, coaching the staff team, and embedding high standards in the service. We run 20 breaks a year and wish to grow this number, around about 10 of which are led by the Activity Team Manager on site in East Sussex. During activity breaks food and your own room is provided and an additional sleep in payment for each night supporting a break is paid.

You will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation, at times this will include our Global Head Quarters. You will work collaboratively with the Head of Organic Social Media during times of crisis communications, including social listening.
This role will require some out-of-hours and weekend work for large-scale events, and you will join the team as a representative of the out-of-hours on call rota.

Power UP! – “Nothing about me, without me.”
In 2023, YWF trained a group of young people as researchers, empowering them to lead the way in understanding the challenges and opportunities facing Westminster’s young people. Their work shaped our flagship report Our City. Our Future. which highlighted the urgent need for young people to be able to confidently shape their futures.
As a result of these findings, we collaborated with an additional group of young people to co-create Power UP! – a whole framework of opportunities providing training, mentorship, internships, youth associate roles and trusteeships to ensure youth voices are central to shaping decisions in both our organisation and in Westminster as a whole.
This includes:
- YEP! - 3-month engagement and skills development programme that uses external facilitators to help develop young participants skills in key areas of YWF's work.
- YWF Youth Associates – A team of paid young consultants that we support to contribute to the work of YWF e.g. grants, research, public speaking – as well as brokering opportunities from external businesses and institutions looking for contributions from young people.
- Trusteeships & Leadership Opportunities – Ensuring young people are embedded and influential in our governance and strategy.
- Mentorship, Training & Internships – Internal opportunities building pathways into further employment.
As Youth Voice & Engagement Manager, you will work with our Youth Voice Consultant, the team and young people to take a hands-on role in delivering, expanding and embedding these initiatives.
Your Role
Programme Leadership & Delivery
- Coordinate Power UP! - Plan, manage, and deliver activities including youth-led research, grant-making, internships and leadership opportunities.
- Run YEP! (Youth Empowerment Pathway) – Oversee this 3-month, 8-session programme, supporting external facilitators and guiding participants toward deeper engagement with and understanding of YWF.
- Mentor Youth Associates – Recruit, train and support young consultants leading change within YWF and their communities.
- Design & Deliver Workshops – Use a range of methods (including coordinating external facilitators) to engage young people, particularly those facing barriers such as language or social exclusion.
- Embed Well-being, Creativity & Inclusivity – Ensure activities support young people’s mental health, confidence and ability to participate meaningfully- and use creativity where appropriate.
- Safeguarding & risk assessments – Ensure safeguarding of young people is front and centre to our work.
Youth Engagement & Inclusion
- Embed Co-Production – Involve young people at all stages of programme design, delivery, and evaluation.
- Consult with Young People – Regularly engage with youth groups, ensuring Power UP! reflects their needs and aspirations.
- Strengthen Partnerships – Work with the Membership Manager to build strong relationships with member organisations to increase access and engagement.
- Support an Intern – Recruit and work alongside a youth voice and engagement intern, providing mentorship and hands-on experience.
Amplifying Youth Voice & YWF’s Work
- Showcase our Initiatives and Young People’s Achievements – Collaborate with the Business Development Lead and Comms and Engagement Director to share young people’s successes via digital and in-person platforms.
- Represent YWF at different public and professional settings, events and opportunities around youth voice, showcasing our work and approach.
- Champion Youth-Led Change – Work with the team to advocate for young people’s involvement in governance and policy within YWF and across Westminster.
Programme Management & Evaluation
- Measure Impact – Work with the Youth Voice Consultant and Evaluation and Data Specialist to use creative evaluation techniques to track the outcomes of Power UP!, ensuring activities lead to meaningful change.
- Manage Logistics – Oversee scheduling, coordination and reporting for all programme activities.
- Manage payments and budgets – manage an activities budget for the YEP! Programme, including overseeing facilitator costs and payments for young people

- Young people in Westminster actively shape decisions within YWF and beyond.
- Youth Associates and YEP! participants gain skills, confidence, and leadership experience to influence their communities.
- Power UP! becomes a leading model for youth engagement, inspiring other organisations.
We’re seeking someone who:
- Has experience in youth engagement – You can design and deliver innovative, inclusive programmes.
- Excels and believes in co-production – You involve young people at all stages of programme design and delivery.
- Is culturally competent – You can work effectively with diverse groups, including young people whose first language isn’t English.
- Has experience with creative session planning & delivery – You use arts-based, interactive, and accessible methods to engage young people.
- Understands impact measurement – You use creative evaluation techniques to assess and demonstrate the difference Power UP! Makes.
- Can confidently embed safeguarding practices through risk assessments and a person-centred approach.
- Can manage people – Experience in managing interns, volunteers, or staff is desirable but not essential—we can support you in this.
- Is organised and proactive – You can manage multiple projects while keeping track of details and deadlines.
- Champions opportunity – You will ensure Power UP! is accessible to all youth organisations and Westminster’s young people.
- Can manage small budgets – experience of this isn’t essential, but we would like someone who isn’t afraid to tackle a spreadsheet and oversee a budget!
