About the role

As Public Affairs and Influencing Manager, you will lead our political engagement work in Northern Ireland and Ireland. You will know how policy change happens — and how to bring the right people along. This isn't just about having the right contacts (though that helps). You will play a key role in helping us to build on our well established position in Northern Ireland, and develop our approach in Ireland, shaping our strategies, partnerships, and our approach to making change happen. This role is for someone who can map the landscape, identify who holds power and influence, and design smart, creative strategies to get us to impact — all while staying grounded in the voices and needs of children and families.

In this role, you will: 

• Build and manage relationships with political and policy stakeholders to raise Save the Children's profile and influence key decisions.

• Develop and deliver public affairs strategies rooted in a clear analysis of power, opportunity and pathways to change.

• Design evidence-based policy proposals that reflect the realities of children and families and translate them into action for decision-makers.

• Collaborate with colleagues across media, participation, and partnerships to align influencing efforts and amplify our collective impact.

• Represent Save the Children to politicians, officials, coalitions and media, with confidence and credibility.

• Support engagement with children and families to ensure their voices inform and drive our advocacy.

About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Experience developing public affairs strategies to influence political agendas and deliver policy change.

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills — you can identify who matters, why they matter, and how to influence them.

• Ability to turn evidence and insight into compelling policy positions and clear, accessible communications.

Membership & Communications Manager

3-4 days per week

£35,000-£45,000 pro rata and subject to experience

Mainly remote (at least initially), with in-person attendance required at monthly team meetings and in-person membership related events which may take place at differing locations, across the UK.

Purpose of the Role

The Membership & Communications Manager is a new part time role at the School Partnerships Alliance, reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with our Executive Assistant. You will join us at an exciting time as we develop our new organisational strategy and expand our current school membership offer. As this is a new position this post does not currently have direct reports, but there may be an opportunity to recruit additional team member(s) as the organisation continues to grow over the next 12-18 months. You will be required to work closely with both our CEO and Director of Programmes and Research to lead on the development and delivery of the membership strategy, both stewarding and growing our membership base year on year. You will also be required to manage our new website, provide support with our social media, and ensure that all member communications align with both our brand values and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver a new, robust membership strategy that supports the S.P.A.’s key objectives. This will include new member acquisition, current member retention and ensuring that stewardship of school members is effective and fit for purpose. You will work with the Director of Programmes and Research to help deliver a credible school partnerships CPD programme and collaborate with the wider S.P.A. team to create a tangible, attractive membership offer (both on and off-line) that will bring schools together, challenge existing partnership practice and support new thinking.
• Actively identify, solicit and enrol new schools as members, building and maintaining an evolving pipeline of new membership prospects.
• Plan and prepare for meetings with current and potential members and accompany CEO and/or Director of Programmes and Research to cultivation meetings where appropriate.
• Be the first point of call for all members and with the support of the Executive Assistant to the CEO, oversee the processing of all new membership applications, renewals and invoices and ensure all enquiries from existing and prospective members are responded to in a timely manner.
• Work with the wider team to confirm a calendar of membership events across the school year. These will take place both online and/or in locations across the UK, so occasional travel will be required.
• Oversee the membership budget and provide quarterly income forecasts and reports to the CEO and Trustees, monitoring and reporting against income targets.
• Build and maintain partnerships with wider S.P.A. stakeholders to include external school membership organisations, MATs and S.P.A. trustees.
• Empower S.P.A. staff and our trustee board to support membership development, utilising their talents and networks effectively.
• Lead on the preparation of high-quality digital membership communication and related marketing and event materials.
• Oversee the establishment of an appropriate administration system to ensure effective membership tracking, due diligence, and to ensure that the S.P.A. has a robust, professional approach to member stewardship.
• Ensure all membership delivery complies with our internal protocols and all external regulations.
• To attend relevant S.P.A in person events.
• To be an active ambassador for the organisation and carry out any other related duties deemed commensurate with the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Passionate advocate for young people and a commitment to the School Partnerships Alliance’s central mission.
• A minimum of 3 years non-profit membership/communications/fundraising experience in a relevant role would be desirable.
• A proven track record of securing membership subsidies and/or donations from trusts and foundations, corporate partners and major donors.

The Role

The Head of Partnerships and Fundraising is responsible for the majority of income generation for our charity. The Switch raises income from corporate volunteering partnerships and through grant applications to other trusts and charities, which together contribute circa £800,000 per year. This is a role that requires strategic thinking, relationship and negotiation skills, and the ability to meet income targets.

This role will manage and grow our current key corporate partners, ensuring sustainability and longevity in our partnerships. The person will be responsible for communicating effectively with corporate partners on a strategic level, to understand how we can improve our volunteering offer and communicate impact to their business.

The job-holder will seek new partnerships in diverse industries where we have fewer stakeholders, to ensure our young people work with companies and volunteers from wide-ranging sectors.

In this position you will scope fundraising opportunities from grant and trusts, and be adept at assessing our viability so that applications we submit have a higher rate of success than average.

As Head of Partnerships and Fundraising, you will create new income streams which The Switch has not considered before, for example legacy funding, individual giving, corporate match funding. This will improve our financial stability.

In addition to income generation, this role will lead the Partnerships team and manage two to three staff as follows :

1. Our Corporate Partnerships and Volunteer Manager - oversees all volunteer logistics, including maintaining volunteer records and distributing relevant briefing materials to ensure volunteers are well-prepared for their role. Some time dedicated to fundraising too.

2. Our Communication Coordinator – leads on our regular comms including our digital newsletter, social media pages, and bespoke comms for projects or funders.

3. Coordinator TBC.

Details

· The Head of Partnerships and Fundraising leads the Partnerships Team and reports to the CEO.

· Working hours are typically 9am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, and 9am – 4pm Fridays.

· Working from home (WFH) is typically 2 days a week, with Wednesdays mandatory in the office.

· Flexibility will be required to cover meetings or events outside of these hours and WFH days.

About the Role

MSI seeks a Global Programme & Philanthropy Manager for the WISH2 WACA programme. As part of the project management team, the  Global Programme & Philanthropy Manager (GPPM)  will contribute to the fulfilment of an MSI-led consortium’s mission, taking responsibility for the management of sub-contracts for a number of consortium partners, supporting them to deliver their commitments under the project (including payment by results KPIs), ensuring adherence to donor compliance standards, and the delivery of internal commitments under the project by MSI’s Global Support Office.  In addition, the GPPM will lead project management support for a portfolio of MSI country programmes, working closely with MSI’s Africa team, and WISH2 Country Project Leads supporting consortium KPI monitoring, risk management, work-planning and monitoring. 

In addition, s/he will lead on key pieces of work under the project results verification and learning component that the Evidence & Learning Partner (E&L) has responsibility for, coordinating technical inputs across key thematic areas (e.g. advocacy, social norms, disability inclusion etc…), interacting with technical leadership from within the project, coordinating Technical Working Groups and providing technical leadership where appropriate. 

The role will be based either in London or Dakar.

We are recruiting two Customer Research Managers one on permanent basis one as 12-month Fixed Term Contract. 

This is a hybrid role, where your work will be split between your home and at least one day per week, on average, in our London Office. This may vary from time to time, so you’ll need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

About you

You’ll bring solid experience from a dedicated market or social research role, whether client-side or agency,  with a strong track record of using qualitative, quantitative and secondary research methods to deliver meaningful insight. About You

Our Location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, you will be required to attend the Hatfield office once a week and monthly directorate meetings. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at its office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days, at which attendance is mandatory.

Team

Reporting to the Head of Sales (currently fulfilled by the account management team), collaborating with the Head of Community and Sales & Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator. Work closely with the membership and account management team, programme and project managers. Liaise and collaborate across the business with product, data services and communications. 

Core Responsibilities

• Work with the account management team to identify, target and secure long term government, corporate, and private income from various sources to deliver the team target of £2m

• Support the team in the management of multiple high-level and enterprise client relationships (six-figure contracts) 

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders

  • Attend client meetings and take live notes, record actions and send follow up emails summarising the meeting outcomes and next steps

  • Track the delivery of actions with the account management team

• Execute strategic account development plans that align with client goals and objectives, ensuring long-term success

• Ensure the delivery of ongoing multi-year renewals, retention and client satisfaction

  • Tracking contract deadlines and working with the team to ensure renewals are submitted in good time 

  • Collaboration with Data Services, Membership and Communications teams as required for delivery

• CRM maintenance and updating to track pipeline

• Draft and deliver regular status, updates and reports 

Supporting responsibilities 

• Supporting the identification, connecting and recruitment of a diverse range of experts, members and stakeholders to join and participate in our work

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

Demonstrable experience of

• 3-4 years demonstrable experience in a similar role

• A proven track record of maintaining clear and ongoing communication with clients, and converting client relationships into contract renewals and new business. 

• A highly collaborative, encouraging approach with the ability to help others understand how to achieve big-picture objectives and goals
