The role

We are looking for a creative and thoughtful individual, keen to make an impact, to join a new Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team at the Academy. The post-holder will be responsible for leading the development of robust MEL plans, framework and tools, working closely and collaboratively with the Principal Consultant, Executive Director and programme and product teams.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone to shape the development and lead the delivery of a new function at the Academy and we're looking for someone with rich experience in MEL and a creative and curious approach to supporting teams better evaluate the impact of their work. You may have worked in research, development and innovation, entrepreneurship, policy, international development or education and you are looking for a dynamic role where you have a lot of freedom to bring your initiative to drive forward improvements.

Our location

Our light, spacious head office is based in a fantastic location in central London with views over St James’s Park and close to the West End. We operate hybrid, flexible working practices with a baseline for office-based working of a mandatory weekly team day plus further days each week as required for the role and the Academy.

This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step in your career by joining our Islington Housing First team in a part-time Specialist Housing First Worker role. About the Role

We are looking for a resourceful, energetic and outgoing individual who can deal effectively with challenging situations and behaviour, motivate young people to manage risk and support a team of professional staff.

Key aspects of the job will be: 

· To safeguard young people through sound management strategies, collaborative working with external agencies and emergency services and compliance with local authority safeguarding procedures.

· A good understanding of contextual safeguarding, The Children’s Act 1989 and the Supported Accommodation Standards and Regulations 2023.

We are looking for a Community Support Administrator to enhance our offer to people diagnosed with aplastic anaemia, and their friends and families . You’ll help our successful fundraising and support teams to do more.

Reporting to our Community Fundraising and Events Manager 

We are passionate about creating opportunities for our community to support us in ways that create joy in their own lives and help them feel empowered in the face of serious illness. Our fundraising activities are designed to help tackle the isolation and other difficulties that are faced by those living with a rare and serious condition. You’ll help us make sure that fundraising for The AAT is a life-affirming and joyful experience.

Our small team are fully remote across the country. You’ll be based on your own in our small office/post room in Birmingham with regular face-to-face meetings with your manager (who lives locally). You’ll keep in touch with the rest of the team via Microsoft Teams.

The first line of support 

As a small charity representing an ultra rare condition, the people we support and the people who support us through fundraising are often one and the same.

You’ll sit within the fundraising team, but your role spans the organisation, and you’ll also deliver essential administration support for our Support Team. 

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only charity who publish information about aplastic anaemia for patients and families. You will post booklets to patients and to hospitals, heading to the post office twice a week to fulfil orders. You’ll also support our volunteer moderators to administer the Patient Support Facebook Group. 

This is a varied and interesting role which gives you the opportunity to see your impact first-hand as you’ll be interacting directly with people whose lives are affected by aplastic anaemia. You will support our community with understanding and empathy. 

As a Community Support Administrator, you will...  

• Manage our online shop, fulfilling orders promptly. Track inventory and re-order items that are running low 

• Send thank you messages and cards to supporters 

• Update our CRM and keep up to date and accurate data on our community 

• Create and schedule social media posts and event listings on our website.

• Answer general emails, social media messages, and other communications and/or ensure they are answered by the right person from our team 

• Provide support and guidance to our volunteers including onboarding and supervision 

• Pitch in with occasional event admin and organising 

• Twice a year attend our Staff Conference for (2-3 weekdays with overnight stay) to work directly with the full team 

For example, a typical week could include: 

• Sending out patient information booklets to hospitals who order it via our website 

• Finding out the t-shirt sizes of everyone on our Great North Run team and posting t-shirts out to them 

• Producing a report from our CRM system, and sending an email to everyone on it to invite them to an event 

• Counting up all our Christmas cards and ordering more from a printers website 

• Creating a thoughtful, personal package for a child who is in hospital, and taking it to the post office. 

• Booking meeting rooms and hotel rooms for an upcoming Staff Conference

• You are an independent worker! You’ll be in the office solo most of the time, so you need to be self-motivated, comfortable reaching out when you have questions, and happy in a quiet room (with a big window and leafy view!)

Aplastic anaemia is a rare and life-threatening condition caused by the bone marrow not functioning properly. 

In people with aplastic anaemia, the bone marrow fails to produce enough of all three types of blood cells – red, white and platelets. 

Aplastic anaemia treatment is very similar to the treatment someone might have for leukaemia - but because it's so rare, families often don't have access to the same information and support. 

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting people affected by aplastic anaemia and funding research into this rare form of bone marrow failure. 

We fund research to improve treatment, provide expert information, and work tirelessly, at grassroots level, to support every aplastic anaemia patient and their loved ones.

We're looking for a talented Research Communications Officer to join our growing team. If you have a knack for translating complex science into compelling stories along with a genuine passion for research, then our role offers a chance to make a meaningful impact.

From crafting powerful news stories and social media content to creating donor-facing research summaries and impact reports, you’ll shine a light on the scientists we support and the discoveries they are making. The salary for this position will be between £30,000.00 - £36,000.00 per annum depending on experience. This is a full-time post at 36 hours per week and will be offered on a permanent basis.

We value spending time working in-person to develop strong connections with each other and with our mission, so you will be based at our central London office for a minimum of three days a week (usually Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) with the option to work remotely for the remainder.

Power2 is a fast growing and energetic youth charity that has supported 27,000 young people since 2001.  We are based in Greater Manchester and London and deliver early-intervention asset-based programmes to young people experiencing vulnerabilities and disadvantages who have mental wellbeing challenges and are disengaged from school and more widely. We are well-known for our accredited Teens and Toddlers programme.

We inspire young people who are at significant risk of school exclusion to re-engage and fulfil their potential at school, at work and in life.

We have been commissioned by the Greater Manchester Violence Reduction Unit to deliver the Another Chance programme in the City of Manchester and North Trafford, supporting young people aged 14-25 involved in group-based serious violent offending to leave a life of violent crime behind them. We are now recruiting Programme Leads to provide 1:1 mentoring support to these young people and to help them access positive support and social services to prevent further offending.

We are particularly looking for people with experience of working with young people aged 14-25 at risk of criminal involvement and exploitation, and their families.

The relationships you cultivate with the young people you work with are at the heart of our success – so recruiting the right people is paramount. Our programme leads work with significant autonomy and authority and must embrace responsibility and be accountable for their work. They work collaboratively alongside young people, operating as a mentor as they empower them to develop self-esteem, become resilient and engage with their own future. Lead Youth Worker

• Use political acumen: Monitor the Welsh political landscape and work with public affairs colleagues to identify influencing opportunities, ensuring our research and policy work is well-timed and impactful.

• Integrate evidence into change strategies: Work closely with advocacy, media, campaigns and partnerships teams to ensure research and policy shape Save the Children's wider influencing.

• Communicate with impact: Produce compelling reports, policy briefings, consultation responses and advocacy materials that resonate with policymakers and stakeholders.

• Collaborate effectively: Build strong internal and external relationships with researchers, decision-makers, and partners across sectors

• Uphold a child rights approach: Ensure all work centres the voices, experiences and rights of children and families — especially those who are most marginalised.
