Board Member 

Wellingborough 

£5,955 plus reasonable expenses

Our client is looking to fill two vacancies on our Board with individuals who can strengthen our existing skills-based Board by bringing high-level knowledge and experience in one or both of the below areas: 

• Treasury

• Asset Management

The successful applicant will be a member of their Board and a member of one or more of the following committees: 

• Audit and Risk 

• Board Effectiveness and People 

• Customer Assurance 

The successful applicants will be appointed at the July Board meeting however, their term of office will commence in September 2025. The Board typically meet online however there are approximately four in-person meetings a year, of which two also include overnight stays. 

As a full Board Member, the remuneration is £5,955 p.a. plus reasonable expenses.

7. Obtain signed Registers at each peer support group and coffee morning and input them onto the Headway Hertfordshire database. Records to be kept up to date.
8. Collect subscriptions from our clients at relevant Welwyn Peer Support Group(s) and pass to the Support Coordinator.  Also, be responsible for collecting money from clients and/or carers for any activities or events that Headway Hertfordshire may arrange.
9. To report any health and safety related incidents to the Support Coordinator as soon as possible for the necessary paperwork to be completed.
10. To notify the Support Coordinator as soon as possible if you are unable to attend any of the peer support groups due to illness.
11. To give the Support Coordinator at least two weeks’ notice if unable to attend the peer support groups due to holiday.
12. To support the Support Coordinator when new clients and/or carers attend the groups – Support Coordinator will try to attend with new person, but if not possible, details will be sent in advance by the Support Coordinator.
13. Administration of annual Premises Risk Assessments and individual Risk Assessments of Volunteers within your designated area.

Peabody is launching a brand-new supported housing service in Lambeth for young adults aged 19 to 25 who need tailored, trauma-informed support to rebuild their lives. We're recruiting multiple Waking Night Housing Support Workers to join us at the very start of this journey.

About the service
This new service will offer a safe, stable, and supportive environment for young people facing homelessness, many of whom may have mental health challenges, substance misuse issues, or experience of the care or criminal justice system. You’ll be part of a team delivering intensive, person-centred support that helps them build resilience, learn life skills, and take steps toward independent living.

Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust Team Members, this is an exciting role leading on the delivery and development of creative and exciting literacy initiatives and an ambitious Reading Strategy at HMP Hewell, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
 
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.

What We’re Looking For:

• A proven track record of securing significant income from trusts, foundations and public sector funders, including six-figure grants

· Strong bid writing skills, with the ability to develop compelling cases for support tailored to different funders

· Experience developing and delivering successful fundraising strategies and meeting or exceeding ambitious income targets.

· Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across departments and working at senior levels.

· Familiarity with fundraising compliance, sector standards, and the use of CRM systems for pipeline and performance tracking.

· Ideally, experience workiing in or with education, STEM or charitable sectors

The salary for this role is £55 000

You will be able to empathise with the daily struggles that people face and will have a commitment to user involvement and empowerment. Location: Home working with regular travel throughout Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire initially. Following further expansion of our service in July 2025, the post-holder will cover Shropshire instead of Gloucestershire.

Objective:

2wish exists to provide support to anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under.

Aims:

• Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
• Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
• Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
• Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
• To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

Context of role:

2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate casework support, as well as ongoing services including counselling, complementary therapies, play therapy, coffee mornings, support events and a respite cottage.

As we continue to expand our services across England the successful candidate will play a central role in the ongoing development of our relationships with stakeholders. Initiative and drive play an integral part of ensuring our professional stakeholders remain engaged and champion our service to those we support. The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families, friends, witnesses and professionals affected by the sudden death of a child or young adult.

Main duties:

Service:

• To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0- 25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the county you reside in and bordering counties
• To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
• Complete an initial assessment of families’ needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction
• Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing
  weekly telephone calls
• To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for
  organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to
  consent from the bereaved individual
• To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other
  healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity from the county you reside in and bordering counties
• To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multiagency approach to support
• Attend relevant forums within the area
• To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on the use of the bereavement boxes, the services we offer, ho to refer into the charity and bereavement awareness
• To ensure families have been offered a memory box and coordinate these when required
• Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child
  or young person
• To work with hospital trusts to establish and maintain the upkeep of suitable bereavement suites for bereaved individuals to use as required
• Maintain stock of 2wish memory boxes and deliver boxes to partner organisations as required
• To submit monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Bereavement Services Manager as required
• To signpost and/or refer to other agencies as required that can provide support as needed
• Cover members of the support team for annual leave and/or sickness
• To travel to attend in-person team meetings and in-person training as required

General:

• To travel to in-person events as required
• To be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration
• To show respect and sensitivity for the cultural and religious beliefs of families
• To undertake learning opportunities and seek them out for the team
• To adhere to all company policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Confidentiality,
  Health and Safety and Lone Working; and to be proactive in implementing new safe working
  practices as appropriate
• To attend weekend and evening community events in support of the charity as necessary
• Participate as and when required in team meetings and one-to-one meetings, and undertake,
  as appropriate, courses/training/other developmental activities, which is relevant to the role
• Contribute on the social media platforms maintained by 2wish

Job Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative psychologist to join our warm and friendly team at our Dose of Nature hub in Surrey. Dose of Nature is in an exciting phase as we continue to receive funding to expand our reach, particularly increasing accessibility to our service for clients living in the Waverley area.

We are seeking a psychologist with passion for the natural world and there is great potential for the psychologist to lead on areas in which we seek to develop and expand. The post-holder would be closely supported by the psychology team, as well as the wider team, to do so.

Dose of Nature is a mental health charity whose objective is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals through increased engagement with the natural world. Our work is rooted in a wealth of scientific evidence that demonstrates the physiological and psychological benefits of spending time in nature.  We deliver ‘Nature Prescriptions’ to adults (aged 18+) referred by their GP with a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction.

Our Dose of Nature Prescription is overseen by psychologists and is a genuine alternative to both medication and more traditional psychological interventions. Through a combination of education, first-hand experience, and practical and motivational support, we aim to encourage a greater connection with nature and inspire lifestyle changes that will have a significant and lasting impact on mental wellbeing.  Dose of Nature is a fun, supportive and lively organisation that encourages creativity and independence, as well as a strong sense of working together as a team.

The nature of the role requires occasional evenings and weekends to cover monthly volunteer training evenings and social events as necessitated by the needs of the charity.

Key Responsibilities 

Clinical 

• To carry out psychological assessments of clients referred to the service, to reach a psychological formulation of the client’s difficulties and understand their wider contextual needs, and to support those clients throughout their journey with Dose of Nature, offering ad-hoc support where needed.
• To subsequently pair clients with an appropriate volunteer Nature Guide who then delivers the Dose of Nature Prescription.
• To review clients at the end of their Dose of Nature Prescription and ensure that those clients who would like to and / or need to, maintain connection with Dose of Nature by attending groups, social events, and through ad-hoc support.
• To maintain relationships with GP practices and other referrers, and to inform them of client progress.
• To support the Clinical Lead to offer workshops and presentations to other agencies, professional colleagues and in the wider community.
• To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, staff members and volunteers contributing to a client’s recovery.
• To undertake risk assessment, formulation, and management of clients and to provide advice to the Dose of Nature team on psychological aspects of risk assessment, formulation, and management.
• To actively promote client involvement in their recovery and service development.

Teaching, Training, and Supervision

• To receive and provide regular clinical supervision.
• To gain additional experience and skills relevant to the Dose of Nature model.
• To provide clinical placements for trainee counsellors and / or trainee psychologists where needed and if appropriate, ensuring that trainees acquire the necessary skills and experience to contribute effectively to client recovery, utilising the Dose of Nature model.
• To provide advice, consultation and training to staff and volunteers.

• To participate in identifying and implementing the development of a high quality, responsible and accessible service.

About the service
This new service will offer a safe, stable, and supportive environment for young people facing homelessness, many of whom may have mental health challenges, substance misuse issues, or experience of the care or criminal justice system.
