Mind in Croydon is seeking to recruit a full time Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA)  to join our small, dedicated team of Independent Mental Health Advocates working to provide advocacy services to adults subjected to detention under the Mental Health Act in the London Borough of Croydon to ensure they understand, express and exercise their rights, and to enable them to access essential services. The advocacy team also provides Community Mental Health Advocacy for people who are informal patients in psychiatric hospital or living in the community and provides weekly advocacy service at two InMind Healthcare Group hospitals in Croydon.

This role is suitable for a fully qualified Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) with a proven ability to support people under the Mental Health Act. We are not considering trainee positions at this time.

In December 2024 the team was awarded the Quality Performance Mark in Advocacy, a testament to their quality of service providing safe and life-changing support.

SALARY: £30,404 per annum
plus pension contributions (above 4% by salary sacrifice.

REPORTS TO: Advocate Service Manager 

TERM: Permanent, subject to funding, full time (36 hours pw)

BASED AT: Bethlem Royal Hospital, Beckenham BR3 3BX. Advocates are also required to meet clients at different sites throughout Croydon and neighbouring boroughs.

This role supports hybrid working. Other flexible arrangements can be discussed however please note that specific flexible working arrangements such as staggered hours may not be feasible due to operational constraints set by the Hospital.

5 billion people do not have access to safe, affordable surgical and anaesthesia care when needed. Can you help us address this neglected area of global health? 

Surgery and anaesthesia have a fundamental and growing impact on global health outcomes. Surgical intervention could address over 30% of the global burden of disease, and yet the poorest 33% of people receive just 3.5% of all surgery. Post-operative mortality rates 1,000 times higher than in some high-income countries can be found in parts of the world where surgery and anaesthesia have been neglected, and in some countries as many as 90% of anaesthetic departments do not have the equipment to provide a safe anaesthetic for a child. 

With 142 Member Societies made up of anaesthesiologists in 151 countries, the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA) is uniquely placed to influence these inequalities and help ensure universal access to safe surgery and safe anaesthesia.

As Governance Manager you will be responsible for delivering a high quality, professional, and effective governance service across the Federation and associated entities. You will work closely with our CEO, Governance & Programmes Officer, Board and other volunteers and leaders as required to deliver a number of key governance activities. This includes virtual and in-person meetings of the WFSA Board, Council, and General Assembly.

You will contribute to the expanding governance functions of the Federation family, with a focus on streamlining processes, improving organisational efficiency, and enhancing leadership communication and collaboration. There may also be a degree of mentoring and support for some of our smaller Member Societies wishing to improve their own governance functions. 

The role necessitates building effective working relationships across WFSA, including with Board, Council and Committee members, as well as the Secretariat (what we call our staff team).

Hybrid working is offered with up to three days per week able to be worked remotely and two days spent in our small office in North London. The role will involve some international travel and evening/weekend hours at times. 

WFSA is registered as a legal entity (an association) in the Netherlands. Through this Dutch registration, WFSA also holds not-for-profit status with tax exemption in the USA (known as: 501(c)3 status). The Federation is headquartered in the United Kingdom. Since 2016, WFSA has also had a separate humanitarian arm, “WFSA (UK)”, which is registered as a charitable company in England & Wales. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team on a part-time basis. This new role will play a key part in overseeing all financial operations of the organisation, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and transparency across our financial systems.

Responsibilities

• As a key member of the team, contribute to achieving Cyfannol Women’s Aid’s vision, mission and ambition.

• Collaborate with the support services coordinator and the refuge team to plan and deliver high quality, specialised, trauma informed, person-led support services.
• Line management of refuge team members (Support Worker, Support Work Assistants, Out Of Hours and Relief Workers) in line with policy in an inclusive, engaging and empowering way. (including supporting recruitment, completing induction, supervision, training and development) supporting and coaching.
• Case hold, providing direct support to adults and children staying in Blaenau Gwent Refuge Services.
• Oversee all rotas for refuge staff and on-call for Blaenau Gwent and make sure the refuges are adequately staffed at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the support services coordinator to ensure refuge referral paths are easily accessible are clear and concise, and to continue to promote a whole team approach.

Cure Parkinson's Research Engagement Manager is responsible for ensuring that the lived experience and perspective of people with Parkinson’s (PwP) is embedded across our research activities. This role is suitable for someone building a career in operations. We are looking for someone who can maintain and provide the right systems and structures to enable others to lead and create our arts projects, and provide ongoing, efficient admin, managerial and fundraising support.

You will manage and be responsible for our systems and processes for financial administration, fundraising, governance procedures and processes, monitoring and keeping the Different Planet Arts office running day-to-day as an administrative hub. You will work closely with our treasurer (who is responsible for creating quarterly Management Accounts.)

Role: General Manager  

Reports to: Artistic Director & Board of Trustees 

Salary: £190 per day, 3 days a week for 48 weeks of the year

Contract: This is a rolling freelance position initially for 6 months to be extended subject to securing future funding

Hours: Preferably 3 days (22.5 hours) a week, 1.5 days at our office in Lewes.

Management Responsibilities

• Support and implement the artistic, business, and strategic planning of DPA, in consultation with the Artistic Director, Board of Trustees, and stakeholders.
• Drive relationships with key stakeholders and funders
• Cultivate a supportive climate of creativity, innovation, and risk-taking in DPA's work
• Ensure DPA remains solvent and able to meet its commitments as outlined in the Three Year Plan
• Lead the fundraising strategy and portfolio at DPA and develop new and diverse fundraising initiatives
• Lead the processes and procedures of governance of DPA both internally with trustees and with external agencies.
• Manage DPA's financial operations, ensuring accurate budgets and reports for staff, board, auditors and funders
• Develop and operate the most efficient administrative processes and systems to support the smooth delivery of DPA's work.
• Ensure DPA's organisation and activities comply with the requirements of Charities Commission and Companies House. Act as DPA's principal interface to these bodies
• Ensure governance, HR policies, and practices are reviewed and updated to deliver a safe working environment and compliance with employment law

Job Requirements

Experience & Knowledge

• A minimum of three years' experience in management and administrative in an arts, or charity organisation or as a company manager in theatre

• Experience of financial processes, including budget management & monitoring

• Understanding of HR policy, processes and best practice

• Experience of securing resources, including making successful funding proposals and grant applications

• Experience of managing office systems, including IT systems.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing with a wide range of people

• Understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace

• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise

• Ability to develop, maintain and contribute to partnerships involving various stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes

• Skilful in managing a small and passionate team of employees, freelancers, and volunteers.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a People Officer to join a highly regarded Educational Membership Body based in the heart of London. This is a full-time, permanent based in London, providing essential administrative support to the HR team to ensure the smooth running of all human resources processes and the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Act as the first point of contact for HR and recruitment enquiries, delivering excellent customer service to staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders
• Assist with providing first line people advice and guidance to Line Managers and employees through keeping up to date with people policies
• Assist with People Team projects as needed
• Assist the People Team with note taking at formal ER meetings when required
• Coordinate recruitment processes, including preparing job adverts, supporting managers with documentation, liaising with candidates and agencies, managing the applicant tracking system, arranging interviews, and issuing offer letters
• Support onboarding processes by preparing contracts, arranging and delivering inductions, setting up new starters on the HR system, and issuing confirmation correspondence
• Administer employee relations and benefits processes, including managing staff changes, leavers, annual leave queries, absence monitoring, and renewals of checks and registrations
• Maintain accurate HR records and databases, run reports, update intranet pages, and ensure compliance with GDPR requirements
• Assist with the coordination of learning and development programmes, including organising training sessions and maintaining attendance records

Ideal candidate profile:

• CIPD level 3 or 5 or equivalent
• At least 3 years in a similar HR position
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with HR databases
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and ability to prioritise effectively
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams

Salary: £33,000 - £33,200 per annum  + excellent benefits
