Purpose of the role (and primary function)
We are entering an exciting new phase of development at VAI, and our ambition is to maintain our current volunteering support offer as well as developing new services.

We are seeking a Volunteer Centre Support Officer to:

• Deliver high-quality volunteering brokerage (connect) services to residents and VCFSE organisations.
• Lead on volunteering outreach in the community.
• Provide good practice volunteering support to VCFSE and corporate and public sector organisations.
• Assist with the day to day running of the Volunteer Centre including volunteer management and the continuous development of the service.
• Promote volunteering and assist with marketing of the Volunteer Centre service.

The Role

Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in collaborating across teams to support finance and grantmaking. They are responsible for the smooth running of all transactional processes for grants, payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting. They will also lead on any applicable system enhancements thus offering a critical and wide-ranging systems support role for the grantmaking charity. They will ensure that financial transactions are properly allocated, recorded, and maintained and assist in the preparation of audit data as well as supporting project reporting to aid in the preparation of the annual statutory audit and project reports.

As part of the finance and operations team, they will join a growing team currently staffed by four members in the UK. In the present accountability structures, the Finance and Grants Officer, GGF UK is line managed by the Director of Finance and Operations, GGF UK while building and working in more collaborative ways.

The Candidate Profile

The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, social justice, feminist, gender, human rights, and/or grantmaking organisation. They demonstrate knowledge and experience in charity/nonprofit grant accounting/financial issues and dealing with both financial and grant information and processes, understand accounting principles, and have knowledge of accounting, grantmaking, and budgeting processes. They have cash management, banking, and payment experiences. They demonstrate excellent administrative and organisational skills, and the ability to ensure the accuracy of work and demonstrate precise attention to detail. They will have the skills to give, receive, and work with feedback constructively. They also thrive in a virtual environment, motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions. Multiple language skills would be ideal, while English fluency is a must.

This project is funded by the Nature Networks Programme. The Heritage Fund is delivering it on behalf of the Welsh Government. 

Do you want to be part of a team leading the field in the development of private investment into nature’s recovery? 

In the past 18 months, The Trusts have been developing new approaches to funding nature’s recovery from the private sector, utilising novel revenue approaches such as nutrient neutrality credits and the voluntary carbon market amongst others. They have developed finance mechanisms to sit alongside these revenue streams such as a philanthropic loan system. They now want to scale up this work to help The Trusts and others to scale nature’s recovery across Wales. They need to turn policy into strong principles that allows us to develop guidelines and templates to help the Trusts across Wales access green finance. 

Our client need dedicated expertise and capacity to work with the Trusts to bring this work into a coherent strategy, develop models and plans that build revenues for nature’s recovery allowing much greater investment. This post is designed to provide that expertise and capacity to work alongside those Trust staff that are already committed to developing these programmes. 

Our client is the central charity which supports the federation of 46 independent Trusts working for nature’s recovery across the UK, Alderney and the Isle of Man. The Trusts’ vision is of a thriving natural world, with abundant wildlife and healthy natural habitats playing a valued role in addressing the climate and ecological emergencies, and everyone inspired to take action for nature’s recovery. 

Collectively, The Trusts have more than 900,000 members, employ 3,500 staff, look after over 2,300 nature reserves, operate 123 visitor and education centres and own 29 working farms. About You 

You will be from a commercial background within private, public or charitable sector. You will have an entrepreneurial approach grounded by great commercial experience. They would expect an understanding of the green finance marketplace and that you are comfortable with legal and contract management. You will be a great communicator, with a personable style who can work with many different people across the wonderful variety of geography, business development, and activities of the Trusts.

Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants is looking for a committed and motivated Head of Operations (Digital). We are a small, highly experienced team who share a passion to support the wellbeing and mental health of children and young people across Surrey.  This is a key new role in the Major Relationships unit to support the CEO and Major Relationships Lead in major donor fundraising, an area which has grown in recent years.  This locally based post will enhance the prospect pipeline and facilitate the cultivation of major donor prospects, which will help towards meeting the objectives and financial targets for major donor fundraising. The role will cover three main areas of responsibility: Research, Events (organisation/co-ordination) and Admin. This position requires discretion, confidentiality and administrative judgment.

The Major Relationships unit works alongside Grants, Corporates & Community as well as Individual Giving, as part of the wider Engagement (fundraising/marketing) team at Eikon. 

Responsibilities   

1. Research   

• Identify and prioritise potential major donor prospects in Surrey and beyond, who would be capable of making significant contributions and seem likely to have the propensity to donate i.e. to become major donors. 

• Produce high quality, tailored and insightful research on major donors.  

• Look at current supporters (all different types/levels) with good contacts/connections/networks and conduct research in order to suggest ways to reach new high net worth individuals across Surrey. 

2. Event organisation/co-ordination 

• Organise/coordinate internal and externally run events such as dinners, drinks receptions, sporting events. 

• Attend key events - approx. 5 each year and sometimes evenings/weekends – welcoming guests and ensuring a positive experience. 

• Join the CEO and/or the Major Relationships Lead at specific meetings with MDs/MDPs, occasionally evenings/weekends. 

 3. Admin 

• Day-to-day support for MDs, MDPs and key influencers (KIs) which could include:  

• General stewardship including thanking and processing information on Sharepoint and Donorfy (Eikon’s database). 

• Regular communication including calls, meetings and sharing reports, presentations and other updates. 

• Database admin, including checking opportunity pipelines and reporting requirements. 

• Supporting individuals or small groups who are fundraising for us e.g. how to set up and promote a JustGiving page. 

4. Marketing, Communications and relationships  

• Support and liaise with the Marketing and Communications team to deliver relevant and effective content and materials, as well as maximising social media opportunities. 

• Co-ordinate communications (including distribution) to all MDs/MDPs/KIs eg CEO Update plus Infographic. 

• Support the CEO and Major Relationships Lead to further develop good relationships with Eikon’s MDs/MDPs/KIs. 

5. Strategy  

• Contribute to Engagement Team strategies, annual plans and budgets.  

6. Staff management  

• Take part in regular supervision and team meetings.  

• No line management requirement  

7. Quality and standards  

• Ensure all staff and volunteers understand and deliver within Eikon’s safeguarding policies and practices when taking part in fundraising activities.  

• Ensure all activities follow the relevant Fundraising Codes of Practice and Eikon’s Ethical Fundraising Policy.  

• Carry out risk assessments for all MD/MDP/KI events.  

• Ensure consent procedures are followed. 

• Carry out required due diligence on new MD opportunities and ensure that there is no obvious conflict with the values or ethical policy of the charity.  

8. Finance and resources.  

• Operate within organisational approved budgets, policies and procedures.   

9. Other responsibilities  

• This role requires flexible working outside of normal hours as agreed.  

• Keep abreast of sector trends and opportunities.   

The post will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, provide support for Trust Board (and associated subcommittees), and will work across the entire Trust to develop and deliver the highest standards of governance and compliance. It will also support and contribute to the work of the Executive Leadership Team of the Trust, which is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the organisation

Key responsibilities for the role include:

• Ensuring good governance through policy development, coordination and support of the Board of Trustees , local governing bodies and other subcommittees, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Committee and meeting support, including servicing Trust Board and a range of other subcommittees.
• Oversight of the recruitment and induction of trustees and governors.
• Support to the CEO and other senior leaders with complaints, investigations and other formal hearings. 
• Support the CEO in their role as Data Protection Officer for the trust, taking administrative responsibility for key duties as required.

The successful candidate will:

• Have worked in the not-for-profit or education sector and have an understanding of the critical role that good governance can play in making an organisation impactful and effective.
• Have an analytical approach to policy.
• Have excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Neighbourhood Watch is the largest volunteer led crime prevention and community development charity in the UK. The Project Coordinator role is responsible for the smooth running of our projects and programmes. Working closely with our Heads of Department, the Chief Executive and our Administrator, ensuring that our projects are delivered to a high standard, and that our partners have a positive experience working with us.

Main Responsibilities:

 Duty Officer:

 – Opening and closing of the Sovereign Centre, depending on shift, and ensure the safety of the area in adherence with YMCA procedures.

– To ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed, i.e. fire evacuation, safety of facility users, assisting with any accidents that occur and giving first aid if needed.

– To follow YMCA safeguarding policy to ensure that vulnerable adults and young people are properly protected.

– Setting up/down rooms for hire including equipment, checking for damage and ensure it is safe to use.

– Overseeing rooms and facilities, general tidying and ensure all areas are safe including storage and outside spaces.

– Assisting with reception duties including taking payments for activities, answering visitor enquiries and promoting YMCA services.

– Answering the telephone and deal with enquiries or forwarding on to appropriate Team.

– Complete food safety and hygiene checks, maintaining records as required.

– Fire warden duties

– Dealing with any incidents whilst on duty and recording on My Concern.

– Supporting Teams who run services in the centre

– Act as concierge as necessary.

Building Administration:

– Identifying any maintenance needs and logging requests via Pyramid, progressing outstanding works and overseeing any works being undertaken when on site.

– Maintain supplies of the centre’s cleaning and household products by running efficient stock control and cost-effective purchasing of supplies.

– Re-stocking and purchasing of first aid supplies, keeping all kits full and in date.

– Supporting Hirers with enquiries, invoices, hold agreements and dealing with bookings.

– Maintain the Sovereign Centre calendar for all bookings.

– Complete building inductions, maintain key presses and up to to date key holder list.

– Ensuring DO pack, PEEP forms and building risk assessments are reviewed and kept up to date.

– Create, fill and distribution of monthly DO rota for the centre.

– Keeping Sovereign building paperwork and on-line folders safe, secure and up to date.

– To support and promote all services which run from centre as required.

– Attend and participate in relevant internal/external meetings and forums related to the CYP services activities.

– Supporting the wider work of the Association including charity events.

– Any other duties required within the grade and renumeration of the role.

– We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults. This role will require an enhanced DBS disclosure (with barred children/vulnerable adults).  We require you to understand and demonstrate this commitment and attend any required training.

Job Purpose:We are looking for a competent and reliable person to undertake a range of duties to ensure the safe and smooth running of the YMCA Sovereign Centre. You will be the Duty Officer; responsible building security and building related admin tasks. You will also cover reception and deal with general enquiries. A commitment to friendly, customer-focus service is essential.

Hours of work:Av 26 hours per week. Monday to Friday 4:30pm - 9:00pm and 2 Saturday per month (Except August) 8:00am - 5:00pm (with 1 hour break)

Role description

Results UK has a long and successful history of engaging with UK parliamentarians around international development issues and providing them with the briefings and questions they need to raise these issues in parliament.  As the Parliamentary Advocacy Officer for Child Health, you will lead our parliamentary work on global child health issues (routine immunisation and polio eradication in particular) in line with our new strategy and commitment to equity.  You will have a good understanding of how the UK Parliament works and how to engage parliamentarians in our issues.

You will lead relationships with UK parliamentarians around child health, including providing the Secretariat for the APPG Vaccinations for All.

Key responsibilities 

Parliamentary advocacy

• Working with the Head of Parliamentary Advocacy and others in the organisation to develop and implement a high impact and politically astute advocacy strategy for child health.

• Alongside the specific global education strategy, contribute to the development of Results’ overarching parliamentary advocacy strategy, working closely with the Head of Parliamentary Advocacy and other members of the team.

• Lead on the parliamentary work on child health for ResultsS UK, by building and strengthening relationships with MPs and Peers that result in their championing the end of poverty, specifically on malnutrition, and building support for nutrition interventions.

• Provide the secretariat function to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Child Health. The APPG secretariat/coordinator function includes guiding the Group’s work programme and activities, arranging meetings and events, corresponding with the APPG Officers and Members, briefing MPs and Peers to ask questions or speak in parliamentary debates and representing the Group externally, for example with the FCDO, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, UNICEF and others.

• Lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of Parliamentary Delegations to other countries and advocacy tours to the UK, working with the relevant Policy Advocacy Officer and others in the Parliamentary Team.

• Work closely with the Grassroots Advocacy Team to ensure parliamentary and grassroots campaigning activity is coordinated and the greatest impact is achieved between the relationships our grassroots campaigners build with their local MPs, and the work led from the office to support MPs in Parliament.

• Ensure our parliamentary advocacy and relationships always remain non-partisan and cross-party, in line with our charitable aims and objectives.

Partners and coalitions

• Liaise with other global Results organisations, the ACTION Global Health Advocacy Partnership Secretariat and other ACTION partners to coordinate our parliamentary advocacy at a global level.

• Work closely with civil society and other partner organisations and allies in the UK to coordinate parliamentary advocacy in the UK.

• Represent Results UK in global coalitions and consortia relevant to your lead issue area, such as the UK Gavi CSO Working Group, the Polio Resource Mobilisation Group and others as agreed with the Head of Parliamentary Advocacy.

• Identify and develop new partnerships in line with our new strategy and the focus on equity. 

Communications and media

• Where capacity allows, identify media opportunities and support media activity (including traditional and social media) related to nutrition.

• Contribute content to Results UK’s website, blog and social media to help achieve our organisational objectives and strengthen our brand presence. 

• Publicise the APPG's activities, primarily through its website and twitter account. 

• Represent Results at external meetings and events in relation to child health advocacy. 

Organisational Development

• Carry out effective monitoring, evaluation and learning of your work, recording activity and outcomes that enables Results UK to measure its success, in addition to measuring the impact of your activities towards these outcomes.

• Be a key part of Results UK’s organisational development by participating in strategic discussions, evaluations, sharing your experience and ideas, and working flexibly to support other staff as required.

• Actively develop and support funding ideas to help appropriately expand Results UK’s portfolio in close collaboration with the Head of Parliamentary Advocacy and the Operations team.

• Build new and strengthen existing relationships with donors, external partners, and our advocacy targets.

• Together with the Senior Policy Advocacy Officer for Child Health, be responsible for regular reporting to grant funders. 

• Be flexible and undertake other tasks as required.

Person specification

This role is ideal for someone with public affairs or political advocacy experience, preferably in the UK, who understands the way that political decisions impact global poverty and wants to influence these decisions. A strong understanding of and passion for global health issues, particularly those that relate nutrition. Equally important is a proven ability to quickly gain an understanding of a complex new area and translate it into succinct, clear, achievable recommendations. 

This post will provide excellent opportunities for leading parliamentary advocacy to deliver real change in funding and policy outcomes on child health and other issues; for building and deploying a strong understanding of key international development issues; and experience of working directly with UK parliamentarians and other actors across the international development sector.

Essential criteria

• At least one year of experience in a substantial parliamentary or public affairs role with demonstrable success in managing relationships with parliamentarians from different parties.

• Understanding of the UK Parliament (including the roles of MPs and Peers; the range of activity parliamentarians can undertake in parliament to influence Government policy; the role of APPGs; Select Committees).

• A good understanding of international development issues and in particular, the need for approaches based in equity and partnership.

• An ability to learn quickly about new development issues and clearly convey this information to others.

• An ability to write clearly and succinctly, for a range of audiences, from lengthy formal submissions to short articles or blogs.

• Experience in representing organisations, networking, and working in coalitions.

• Experience of event organisation.

• Excellent English writing skills with an ability to write clearly and succinctly for a range of audiences.

• Strong interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with people from different backgrounds and cultures.

• Good understanding of carrying out effective Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL), for advocacy work.

BEO is a civil rights charity that was set up to challenge and dismantle systemic racism. We work with Black communities by using campaigning, policy and research in conjunction with the law to effect meaningful change. 
Legal services are central to BEO. We are therefore looking for someone of 4yrs PQE who has experience in social welfare, human rights, public and administration law and who seeks an opportunity to use those skills specifically in the area of challenging systemic racism. 

In the last year we have been developing our relationships with partner organisations, ranging from community groups, our stakeholder law firms, NGOs and law firms experienced in equality and discrimination law, to deliver legal services. The role holder will be required to build on and expand these relationships so that BEO can offer quality legal advice to Back communities in the nations and regions across the United Kingdom. 
We are building our internal legal team so that we can provide targeted legal support to Black communities. We are looking for someone to work with the Director of Legal Services and Policy to ensure that high quality legal advice, support and representation are the hallmark of BEO. 

Apart from delivering targeted legal advice and representation and identifying and running strategic litigation cases, the role holder will be required to think creatively to assist in fundraising and campaigning to develop a sustainable legal service. BEO does not have a Legal Aid Agency contract so self funds all legal work. BEO is a small team, so the role holder must have the skills and confidence to work on their own initiative as well as with members of other teams in BEO.
