Myeloma UK is looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to join our growing Community and Events team.  You’ll be joining the team as we continue to refine and expand our mass participation events portfolio including London Paris Ride, Great North Run and 100 miles for myeloma. You will have experience in event delivery or project planning, delivering these activities within tight deadlines while successfully building effective relationships.

The role holder will have strong administration skills, attention to detail and work as part of a team.  You will be self-motivated and able to work remotely with little supervision, managing a wide range of tasks and having an interest in sporting and mass participation fundraising events.

Previous experience or knowledge of digital marketing, virtual fundraising events and using Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM system would be an advantage but not essential. 

About the role

As the Events Fundraiser you will be required to research, promote and deliver fundraising events, campaigns and activities, providing excellent stewardship to supporters, whilst working to help achieve monthly fundraising income targets.  You will work to deliver an annual calendar of runs, walks, challenge and sporting events across the UK as well increasing support through Myeloma UK virtual and Facebook events.

The role holder will work with the Senior Event Development Fundraiser to provide the highest quality of event delivery as well as developing relationships, securing support, marketing, delivering and monitoring the event ensuring post event evaluation and future recommendations are made.  They will also work closely with Community Fundraisers, supporting them as they identify opportunities to expand and diversify their fundraising portfolio.

You will work with other teams, develop materials required to support all marketing and promotion of events, ensuring organisational brand, style and key messages are adopted and ensure maximum use of database and other technology to increase operational efficiency within event fundraising.

• Manage your own caseload, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify, and manage risk and support organisations to deliver their projects and measure their impact.

• Use your critical thinking skills, curiosity, interest and understanding of our community-led mission areas to support and inform your approach to assessment and grant management.

As a Benefits and Debt Worker you will provide service users with advice and support on finance and debt. Carrying out comprehensive assessments, via phone and face-to-face, and you will provide advocacy and support that empowers survivors primarily during crises and in the short term. You will hold a caseload of survivors and work as part of our duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

You will have the ability to encourage user engagement with the service through proactive contact. Maintain project logs and collate data from the logs for Team Managers. Proactively assess the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have. Bring your experience of providing benefit, and debt advice and successfully, managing high numbers of calls and/or cases and have a solid understanding (possibly experience) of supporting women who have experienced domestic violence, forced marriage or ‘honour-based violence.

About the Role

The position is permanent and part-time. It is for 3 days per week, for the right candidate. The postholder must be available to work one Saturday a month. A normal working week is 21 hours (3 days per week) to be worked between 09:30am to 5:30pm weekdays. There may be an opportunity to work from home once a week after probationary period.

The main tasks of the role include: maintaining effective communication and correspondence with our vulnerable young clients and booking appointments; overseeing and updating our case management system; administrative financial work, costs billing and creating invoices; and general administrative duties including filing, scanning, shredding, archiving, photocopying, creating e-bundles, preparing and taking post to the post office, completing forms, and requesting subject access disclosure and other information from third parties.

The role also requires the administrator to support, where necessary, the day-to-day administrative management of the office and PRCBC operations. This includes liaising with external stakeholders across a range of areas such as IT support and building management; supporting the maintenance and updating of operational procedures and practices; and completing ad-hoc administrative tasks, such as office supply procurement, as required.

To work effectively at PRCBC, it is necessary for the administrator to closely follow instructions, retain a professional approach throughout, and be highly focused and well organised, with excellent attention to detail.

Due to the varied nature of PRCBC’s work, the administrator participates in many aspects of the management, administrative and legal process, and interacts with a wide range of individuals, from solicitors and barristers to social workers and foster parents, alongside frequently vulnerable young clients and their carers. The administrator is therefore expected to manage a varied and evolving workload. The right candidate will have an initiative-taking mindset, be highly adaptable and willing and able to take initiative in daily operations.

We are looking for two enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join the development/digital marketing team for a twelve month fixed term contract.

Position: CE369 Full-stack Developer (two posts)

Location: Home-based, UK, Nationwide. However, occasional travel will be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work related meetings)

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Digital Developer, the Full-stack Developer will help to make a mark on the transformation and future proofing of all Association websites and microsites whilst helping the development/digital marketing team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Combining solid LAMP stack experience with strong skills in HTML, JavaScript and pre-processed CSS and a proven working knowledge of Drupal 9/10 to build accessible and high performing responsive website solutions
• Working in an agile environment, both independently and with other team members, from tickets created in the Jira project management system by a range of internal clients across the charity
• A willingness to switch between the back and front end development aspects of the role depending on the requirement of each given task
• Offering solutions to problems and improvements to the quality of the Drupal development environment
• Creating and executing accessible, responsive web solutions while adhering to existing brand design requirements
• Ensuring that best practices are followed for both back and front end performance
• Writing high standard, clean code to best current practices using version control (Git)

About You

You will have/be:

• Solid LAMP stack experience
