Job description

The Organisation

The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.

We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Our eight Royal Parks and other iconic green spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with 77 million visits every year.

We are now looking for a Website Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Benefits

  • Salary of £ £41,551 - £45,886 per annum, depending on experience
  • 26 days' annual leave plus public holidays, increasing to 29 days after 3 years’ service
  • Pension scheme (3% employee contribution; up to 10% employer contribution)
  • Private medical insurance and healthcare cash plan
  • Employee assistance programme and access to mental health first aiders
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Offices in a beautiful location

If you have experience of managing website development, UX design and working with Agile methodologies, this is a brilliant opportunity to further your career with our committed organisation.

This is a great chance to hone your skillset, help make a lasting impact on some of London’s most popular green spaces, and be the driving force behind our two websites!

What’s more, you’ll discover that working amidst the stunning landscapes of Hyde Park and other Royal Parks allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in a picturesque natural environment.

The Role

As a Website Manager, you will oversee the development, troubleshooting, SEO optimisation and continued improvement of the user experience for our two websites.

Working as a key member of the digital team, you will be the go-to technical lead for all things related to website development and Google Analytics.

You will manage our relationships with external developers and hosting suppliers, as well as overseeing the strategic and ad hoc development of both websites ensuring they offer an engaging user experience.

Additionally, you will:

  • Test and sign off on all changes and new developments on the website
  • Identify technical issues and raise them with the agency
  • Manage compliance with the Cookie Consent Platform and related integrations
  • Monitor and report on the performance of both websites using dashboards
  • Keep up to date with the latest technology and trends in website design and UX
  • Line-manage the Website Administrator

About You

To be considered as a Website Manager, you will need:

  • Experience in overseeing the ongoing development and UX improvement of websites
  • Experience working with external developers and with Agile development and testing methodologies
  • Experience using website performance metrics to evaluate activity and influence planning and future development
  • A degree (or equivalent level of experience) in website management, website content and UX

Other organisations may call this role Website Developer, Web Engineer, Website Content Developer, or Website Administrator.
