What you’ll do:

• Reconcile fortnightly travel invoices and monthly credit card statements obtaining approvals and uploading to the accounts system.
• Raise all sales invoices across all group companies.
• Provide credit control to the business according to finance policies, actively engage with and enter in to and keep records of dialogue for all debtors.
• Provide cover for the other assistant accountant, namely in relation to purchase ledger processing and payments runs and bank transaction postings.
• Ad hoc analysis and support for month and year end activities.

What you’ll need:

• Experience of using a finance system preferably Sage 200, payment system and Microsoft applications, including experience of working in nominal, sales and purchase ledgers and cashbook.
• An ability to multi task and work to tight deadlines.
• Experience of working in a finance team in a similar role
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• A consistent and effective team player who can multi task and prioritise
• Effective oral and written communication skills

The Candidate:

• Significant experience developing and reviewing monthly management accounts, including reconciliations, variance analysis and forecasting.
• Excellent understanding of finance systems and data flow across diverse systems, including CRM integration.

About the role

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to use their policy skills to help end homelessness and improve housing in England. Working as part of Shelter’s Policy Team, you will be responsible for helping to develop Shelter’s policy and responding to government initiatives on a range of housing policy areas. It includes helping to develop innovative and workable proactive policy solutions to fix the housing emergency.

Role specifics

You’ll bring strong knowledge of social or economic policy and the ability to analyse complex issues in a wider context. You’ll have experience working with both quantitative and qualitative evidence to identify trends and develop clear, evidence-based solutions to structural social problems. You’ll also be confident in producing policy analysis that supports communications, campaign goals and the wider political landscape. A passion for tackling inequality and insight into the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness, and an anti-racist approach to your work would all be valuable.

The team is seven people strong and sits within the Advocacy and Activism branch of the Communications, Policy and Campaigns division.  Using the latest data, research and intelligence from our services, and working with people with lived experience, we analyse the problems in our housing system and identify effective and creative solutions.

Would you like to join our small, dedicated, international team to make a difference to the lives of seafarers and their families worldwide?

ISWAN has recently reorganised the management of our helpline services and created this new role, which will be pivotal to further developing our quality service to seafarers. We have seen significant growth in the number and usage of our helplines and now seek to recruit a second Helplines Operations Manager to ensure we have a management structure capable of coping with further growth.

As one of two Helplines Operations Managers, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of ISWAN’s helplines to ensure our services provide accurate information, appropriate advice, and comprehensive support to seafarers and their families.  

You will manage the development of Salesforce and be familiar with Salesforce reporting, particularly using advanced tools like Power BI and Tableau. You will be confident liaising with our IT support service on system issues and developments. 

We have no preconceptions about where the successful applicant will come from but you will bring experience of managing multi-channelled contact centre operations and best practice as well as delivering user and client service improvements.

You will need to be capable of working effectively within a complex international context and have sound experience of service development. This is a full-time role (35 hours per week) but we are keen to find the right person and therefore happy to discuss flexible working patterns. The role is fully remote and we are flexible about where you are based but you will be working with staff across the UK, India and the Philippines so you will need to be a great team player.

The role

The Project Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of our Council funded Adult Bereavement Service in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This service aims to provide accessible, accessible, empathetic and effective support for adults affected by bereavement, particularly sudden or drug/alcohol-related deaths. The Project Delivery Officer will work collaboratively as part of the local and regional volunteer and staff team. We welcome applications from candidates who wish to job-share the responsibilities of this role.
