The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is one of the most prestigious institutions of higher learning and research in the world. Founded in 1895, LSE counts 18 Nobel prize winners among its alumni and staff.

In November 2021, we launched the public phase of Shaping the World, our major £350 million philanthropy and engagement Campaign to underpin LSE 2030 goals and help shape the world for good. More than 80 per cent of our Campaign goal has been raised so far and there is huge momentum building as we advance the public phase.

The Philanthropy and Global Engagement Division serves, engages and works in partnership with alumni and friends, staff and students, volunteers, donors, global partners, organisations and the wider community to further the strategic aims of the School. These reciprocal relationships increase engagement with LSE across the world and increase philanthropic income and strategic partnerships for agreed School priorities.

We are seeking a Philanthropy Proposal Writer, on a one-year fixed appointment to cover maternity leave. You will be responsible for creating persuasive content for use in bespoke proposals for potential donors and funders, most particularly for 7-9 figure opportunities. As well as developing and delivering compelling concept notes and proposals to solicit leadership philanthropic gifts, you will contribute to Campaign content that demonstrates the need for and impact of philanthropy, to help inspire more supporters to invest in and partner with LSE.

You should have exceptional written communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade through use of words, style and tone, an ability to translate complex academic concepts into persuasive content for donors and funders, and confidence in in coordinating activities and people to achieve success.

As our Philanthropy Lead, you will develop and implement a visionary strategy targeted at captivating the attention of ultra-high net worth and high net worth individuals, including a new generation of donors. Collaborating with colleagues from across the organisation, you will sculpt compelling funding propositions, and secure gifts spanning figures in the six and seven digits. About You:

World Child Cancer is seeking an experienced corporate and philanthropy fundraiser to join our growing team and play a vital role in improving the chances of survival and quality of life of children with cancer in under-resourced countries.

About World Child Cancer

Over 400,000 children worldwide develop cancer each year. Childhood cancer is most often curable, with over 80% survival rate in high income countries. However, in many low-and-middle-income countries survival rates are often 25% or lower.

World Child Cancer’s goal is to help redress that inequity and improve the chances of children with cancer to survive and thrive in under-resourced countries. We currently work with local hospitals in 12 countries in Africa, Asia and Mexico to enable children with cancer to have equal access to the best possible treatment and care through awareness raising on signs of childhood cancer, providing financial, logistical and emotional support to address barriers to access treatment, training of healthcare workers and advocacy.

Overview of the role

This newly created Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager role will play a key part in raising income from companies and philanthropists to help achieve World Child Cancer’s mission.

You will be passionate about enabling children with cancer to have equitable access to quality treatment wherever they are born. Role: Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager
Reporting to: Senior Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager
Purpose of job: To work as a key part of the Philanthropy and Partnerships Team, line managed by the Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, and accountable to the Museum’s Director. This role will bring in vital income from trusts, foundations, corporate partners and individuals to deliver the business plan. This role has responsibility for achieving income targets by collaborating across all departments to understand and translate fundable and core activities into compelling cases for support.
Working pattern: 35 hours per week, usually worked from 10 – 6pm. Flexible/hybrid working offered for up 40% of hours to be worked from home.

Salary: c£36,000-38,000 depending on experience

Who we are looking for:

• You will be our ideal candidate if you are a high performing and target driven person, who enjoys working in a fast paced and rewarding environment.

The Philanthropy & Partnerships team
In Autumn 2023, Foundling Museum delivered a successful, ambitious capital campaign to secure the future of the Museum through a variety of supporters, from individuals, major supporters and trusts/foundations.
The Philanthropy team is responsible for the funding revenue needs of the Museum, which for 2024-25 is c£800,000, making up approximately 36% of total income.
The post of Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager will deliver against personal targets toward this goal. Remaining income includes Arts Council England National Portfolio funding, NLHF funding, core earned income (admissions) and trading activities (retail and venue hire).
The Philanthropy and Partnerships team collaborates closely with the Director, Chair of Trustees and Development Consultants and across all departments to understand and translate fundable and core activities into compelling cases for support. Across a year the team raises vital income for exhibitions, learning and participation activities, events, capital projects, an established endowment fund and unrestricted revenue income.

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven individual to become a crucial member of our team, as our new Trust and Statutory Manager.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced individual to lead our volunteer development activity. Working closely with
the Fundraising, Delivery and Marketing teams, this is a varied role working with alumni and employee
volunteers to support activities in our member schools.

You will lead on the development of our volunteer community which is managed online through the Future
First Hub, and be responsible for developing and delivering a programme of activities that nurture
relationships with Future First’s diverse audience of volunteers, and increases support for the charity’s
fundraising and development goals.

You will have excellent customer service skills, be proactive and detail oriented and have the ability to
manage multiple projects at any one time. You will be confident in the use of standard office technology, as
well as experienced in the use of databases and IT applications.

Key Duties and responsibilities

• To be responsible for developing Future First’s volunteer relations strategy, and associated budget with a particular focus on the development of an engaged community, and a focus on the needs of employee volunteer schemes.
• To seek opportunities to raise the profile of the volunteer network, and grow its capacity and reach.
• To develop our work mapping and implementing recommendations against the Investing in Volunteers standard.
• To be responsible for running volunteer events and producing relevant communication materials.
• To participate in the strategic development of the Future First online Hub powering our school and volunteer community.
• To recruit volunteers and provide appropriate training and development opportunities, to include consideration of a volunteer board, and engagement activities targeted at the growing near peer volunteer community.
• To work closely with other departments to develop and implement their strategies for engagement.
• To work collaboratively with the fundraising team to explore and support volunteer philanthropy.
• To ensure that a robust monitoring and evaluation framework is in place for volunteer relations.
• To work with senior colleagues to ensure safeguarding policies are robust.

Salary and Holiday
This is a permanent position. The salary is between £34,000 and £36,000. Future First staff receive pro rata
28 days of leave (in addition to 8 UK public holidays) increasing one day per year of service up to 33.

Founded over 40 years ago, our mission was to rescue characterful and neglected historic sites all across the city. To date, we have restored nearly 800 sites across London.

We are now looking for a dedicated fundraiser who will help us build on our relationship based fundraising activity to grow our income. The Head of Philanthropy is a new role reporting to the Chief Executive.

About the role

Are you an experienced corporate fundraiser with an interest in working in the international development sector? Are you creative, strategic, highly organised, a confident and effective communicator and strong team player? 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. If you are seeking a dynamic and engaging fundraising role which offers you the chance to play a pivotal role within a small but ambitious organisation, then this could be the job for you.

You will be an exemplary relationship builder and have experience in developing multi-faceted corporate partnerships (ideally with experience and success in employee engagement, corporate sponsorship, and/or operational partnerships).

The role also line manages the Senior Fundraising Officer post, a position that provides administrative and fundraising support across the whole fundraising team.  Please note that we are a small team and so you’ll need to be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to help out team members and to support new business across other restricted income streams.

Job Purpose & Background: 

CDP’s development team is ambitious, dynamic and at the heart of everything CDP does. As a Senior Manager, Philanthropy, you will focus on developing and managing strategic, high-value relationships with Trusts and Foundations. The Senior Manager will play a key role in developing and implementing a global fundraising strategy at a key time of organizational growth. Reporting directly to CDPs Head of Philanthropy, you are an independent thinker who can help grow and sustain grant funding from Trusts and Foundations.

You are the kind of person who gets out from behind your desk to meet people, influence and achieve long lasting, mutually beneficial relationships. You’ll need to be determined, tenacious and focused on results.

Who you are

• Must reside and be eligible to work in the locations stipulated above.
• You have a proven ability to build and manage philanthropic donor income streams, maximising the value of existing and prospective supporters.
• You have a proven track record of relationship building to secure grants at seven figure and above level. 

• You have 5 or more years of fundraising experience, preferably with Foundations or High Net-Worth Individuals.
• You are able to understand diverse donor motivations and deliver a bespoke relationship to meet these and have demonstrable skill in adapting written and verbal communications for a philanthropy audience.

Your day-to-day

You will support the execution of CDPs philanthropic fundraising strategy. 

You will manage a portfolio of strategic, high-value donors, building strong relationships and implementing creative solicitation plans to maximise donor engagement and income.

You will research, develop and secure funding from new donors, with a strong focus on funders with a potential to give 7-8 figure grants. 

You will develop an excellent knowledge of CDP’s work, liaise with colleagues to prepare and present high-quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for the donor. 

You will build excellent external working relationships at all levels with donors, their staff and networks in order to directly influence their decisions.

You will build excellent internal working relationships to engage staff at all levels in supporting donor stewardship to manage prospective and existing donors effectively.
