ROLE DETAILS 

Standing Voice is looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager based in or near London to join our UK team. This is an exciting and challenging role in a creative and focused working environment, within an organisation with multiple programmes and funding streams across 3 countries. This position suits an ambitious and experienced fundraiser, equipped with excellent written and oral communication skills and a depth of donor management experience. 

The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director and be tasked with advancing & implementing Standing Voice’s Fundraising Strategy including writing grants proposals; diversifying & scaling-up the organisation’s income streams; and managing donor relations and reporting. As well as working alongside UK fundraising, programmes and finance colleagues, the Fundraising Manager will work directly with our teams in Tanzania and Malawi to design and generate project proposals. 

Suitable candidates will demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills; a high level of organisation and accuracy in their work; and concrete experience of generating income through trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, institutional donors, philanthropy partnerships, and individual giving. RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop SV’s Fundraising Strategy

• Identify, research and implement innovative funding methods to diversify and strengthen SV’s income base

• Secure funding from a diverse portfolio of new and existing donors, including: trusts and foundations; corporate partnerships; institutional donors; philanthropy partnerships; and individual giving

• Host meetings with philanthropists and foundation directors to generate interest in SV’s work and secure support 

• Manage SV’s grant research to maintain a database of viable funding opportunities for the organisation

• Lead the development and writing of concept notes, proposals, presentations and pitches to prospective donors

• Draft funder reports in collaboration programmes and finance teams, and manage report submissions in line with funder agreements

• Work effectively with the Head of Programmes and Partnerships and Finance Manager to collate project information, in order to enhance funding applications and reports

• Manage SV’s donor management tools

• Build relationships with our donors to foster long-term partnerships

• Identify and execute funding campaigns, including our annual Big Give Christmas match funding challenge

• Track and monitor fundraising progress, trends, and insights, and provide reports to executive management and the Board of Trustees

• Recruit new staff and volunteers to the fundraising team in line with available budget

• Delegate effectively to fundraising team members, ensuring tasks are clearly defined, properly supported and well monitored 

• Remain abreast of current trends in fundraising and donor interests

• Adhere to the Code of Fundraising Practice and all internal policies at SV

Purpose of the position

 

We’re looking for an experienced prospect researcher with strong analytical skills and an excellent knowledge of the global philanthropic space to join our Private Sector Fundraising team. You will be joining a growing major gifts programme with ambitious goals and a strong new business focus.

You will have prospect research experience in a global health, scientific or medical non-profit setting, and the ability to move comfortably between the worlds of research and philanthropy and to identify opportunities beyond the obvious.

The successful candidate will develop and implement an effective prospect research strategy supporting DNDi’s philanthropic ambitions, identifying new leads from foundations, philanthropists, trusts and companies, philanthropy collaboratives and funding calls. The role also involves setting up and socialising knowledge capture systems eg utilising Salesforce and communicating on good practice to other colleagues.

Specific Job Responsibilities

1. Strategy and planning:

· Assist in developing a proactive and growth-focused prospect research strategy that aligns with DNDi's fundraising plans and strategic priorities.

· Develop and socialise processes and procedures relating to prospect research.

· Contribute to developing a visibility strategy for DNDi through the identification and tracking of prizes and relevant philanthropic and global health conferences.

2. Prospect identification:

· Identify and qualify prospective donors by cross-referencing information from our supporter database, external databases, funding calls, media sources, and biographical references.

· Conduct in-depth research on prospective donors and contacts.

· Build, track, and report on prospective donors for various funding priorities, ensuring they meet fundraising ambitions.

· Develop strong relationships internally, promoting the effective use of research information.

3. Prospect management:

· Make data-driven recommendations to support the cultivation of new prospects and the management of key donor relationships.

· Ensure fundraisers have dynamic prospect portfolios optimized to meet fundraising targets.

· Provide timely, accurate, and relevant information to fundraisers and organisational leaders as required, including meeting briefings.

4. Communication and internal capacity building:

· Present research results through written reports and presentations for various audiences.

· Present on aspects of prospect research and good practices to internal audiences

5. Knowledge capture/retention, compliance and due diligence:

· Input and maintain accurate information in Salesforce to support ongoing relationships and work with relevant team members on the systemization of knowledge capture, pipeline reporting and prospect ranking systems in Salesforce.

· Conduct ethical screening and due diligence research on prospects and donors to ensure compliance with DNDi's policies.

· Ensure compliance with data protection regulations in relation to data processing and use of prospect management tools.

6. Resourcing:

· Manage relationships with relevant external suppliers, including contractual and budgetary aspects, and oversee the use of prospect management tools.

· Monitor expenditure related to prospect research resources and make recommendations for resource optimization.

Job Requirements

Skills and Attributes

· Excellent understanding of the global philanthropic landscape and strong in-depth knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in at least 3-4 countries. Strong knowledge of the US, UK landscape is vital and knowledge of additional markets (Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands or Sweden) highly regarded, as is some prospect research experience focused on developing markets.

· Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

· Demonstrated strong ability to work as part of a multicultural team.

· Intellectual curiosity and ability to rapidly develop an understanding of DNDI’s work.

Experience

· Minimum 6 years’ relevant experience

· A strong affinity for the mission, ideally grounded in prospect research experience for international NGOs, scientific organisations or organizations with global public health relevance. Some experience with medical research or neglected tropical diseases would be highly regarded.

The Trussell Trust are seeking a Philanthropy Executive to join our high-performing Major Donor team. The Philanthropy Executive supports the work of the team with executive tasks and in managing the stewardship communications for a specific caseload tier of supporters. You will help to develop our plans for working with this tier, liaising with the Individual Giving team to manage the donor journey between mid-value and the major donor caseload. You will co-ordinate a tailored programme of stewardship communications and engagement helping to build and deepen long-term relationships and secure income. 

Role responsibilities 

• Stewarding a tier of donors to bring them closer to our work, planning and coordinating a programme of one-to-many communications, asks and appeals as well as quarterly updates (to be used across the major donor caseload), thanking donors, and helping to build understanding of the impact of their support.

• Managing the philanthropy team inbox and providing first point of contact for enquiries and colleagues, fielding them to the relevant team members. 

• Co-ordinating with the Individual Giving mid-value team to effectively manage supporter journeys. Liaising with the Supporter Care team to ensure that contact records are accurate and data protection compliant, and that gifts are coded and recorded correctly on our database. 

• Supporting the Major Donor team with executive tasks such as keeping accurate records, liaising with external suppliers, assisting with comms creation in liaison with the Marcomms teams; sourcing relevant content for donor updates; assisting with mailings and invitations to events; using Salesforce to identify and qualify prospects and performing basic desktop research; producing briefings; producing reports.

The Head of Philanthropy will play a pivotal role in fostering strong connections between the school and our alumni and parent community. Job Purpose & Background: 

CDP’s development team is ambitious, dynamic and at the heart of everything CDP does. As a Senior Manager, Philanthropy, you will focus on developing and managing strategic, high-value relationships with Trusts and Foundations. The Senior Manager will play a key role in developing and implementing a global fundraising strategy at a key time of organizational growth. Reporting directly to CDPs Head of Philanthropy, you are an independent thinker who can help grow and sustain grant funding from Trusts and Foundations.

Who you are

• Must reside and be eligible to work in the locations stipulated above.

Your day-to-day

You will support the execution of CDPs philanthropic fundraising strategy. 

You will manage a portfolio of strategic, high-value donors, building strong relationships and implementing creative solicitation plans to maximise donor engagement and income.

You will research, develop and secure funding from new donors, with a strong focus on funders with a potential to give 7-8 figure grants. 

You will develop an excellent knowledge of CDP’s work, liaise with colleagues to prepare and present high-quality information such as tailored presentations and proposals for the donor. 

You will build excellent external working relationships at all levels with donors, their staff and networks in order to directly influence their decisions.

You will build excellent internal working relationships to engage staff at all levels in supporting donor stewardship to manage prospective and existing donors effectively.

Peer Power Youth has a successful track record of securing income from Trusts and Foundations and earned income through training sales, contracts and consultancy, which has enabled us to achieve individual impact for young people and tangible system change impact for thousands more children and young people.

We are seeking an experienced trusts and foundations fundraiser to spearhead the Trusts and Foundations programme at the Hall. This is an exciting new role within the team who are eager to invest in this area of income and see immense potential for growth.

Building upon the current small programme, you will lead on initiating conversations with new funders and effectively convey the funding needs of the Hall and capital appeal. Your focus will be on developing and growing an engaged portfolio of trusts and foundations who share the Hall’s vision and ambitions.

As Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will:

• create and coordinate the trusts and foundations strategy focused on driving growth and income;
• personally manage a portfolio of trusts, foundations and other grant funders giving 6- and 7-figure gifts, ensuring you deliver fantastic stewardship and reporting;
• oversee and develop a high value T&F pipeline, proactively cultivating and building relationships with potential funders;
• produce compelling funding proposals, applications and cases for support to secure transformational restricted and unrestricted donations;
• provide leadership and support to the Philanthropy Coordinator – Trusts & Foundations;
• work closely with the rest of the Philanthropy team to identify and maximise the lifetime support of donors and partners.

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Demonstrable experience of managing and securing 6-figure+, multi-year funding from a range of trusts, foundations and statutory funders
• Proven experience of managing and developing a pipeline of funders
• Exceptional interpersonal and persuasive communication skills, with ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders of all levels
• Line management experience, and keen interest in motivating and developing direct reports

Hybrid working, 3-4dpw in Royal Albert Hall, Kensington office. The role will require occasional evening and weekend work in line with the Hall’s events programme, in particular those attended by your donors and prospects.

Educational Grants & Relationships Manager 

The Merchant Taylors' Company is looking for an exceptional person to lead on its educational grant-making and its education-related relationships. The grant-making is delivered primarily through the Merchant Taylors' Foundation. It’s  partly about schools but also potentially any setting in which education improves lives – for example, offender rehabilitation, or our Early Years joint programme with the Leathersellers’ Company. 

You’ll sustain vibrant relationships between the Company and schools throughout England and Northern Ireland with which it has close links. Some are state-maintained, some in the independent sector, and you’ll love both types.

You’ll lead on education-related volunteering opportunities for the Company’s membership, a vibrant community of people whose birth decades span the early 2000s back to the 1930s. 

You’ll also lead on relationships with all the stakeholders affecting our education-related work. You’ll ensure those relationships are flourishing and mutually advantageous, and you’ll lead on identifying and building new ones to increase our impact. 

You’ll support fundraising work for the Foundation, for example through creating compelling pieces for social media and hard copy publications. 

You’re a fast learner and clearly very able. You are clever, proactive, pragmatic and financially astute. Your influencing and diplomatic skills are strong. Your social skills are brilliant with people of all ages and walks of life. Your oral and written communication skills are excellent, and you’ll need them for working with Merchant Taylors’ boards and committees and communicating with the Company’s membership. You’re not afraid of taking responsibility, or being accountable. You are a strategic thinker. You’re great on the big picture as well as the detail. You’re confident with figures and financial information. You’re also confident with IT and, given we’re a small team, you’ll love using IT applications to help us work efficiently. 

You don’t need a professional background in education. The qualities above are much more important. This job could suit someone with great potential who is looking for the next step up, or someone who can already demonstrate experience of everything from their career to date. Having already raised £9.9 million for our Up Against Time Appeal, London’s Air Ambulance Charity is currently in the final phase of our campaign to raise £15million by September 2024 to replace our two helicopters. With six months to go, the team are now looking at the opportunities presented by the new 15 year organisational strategy.
