About the role 

The Hepatitis C Trust is a charity run by and for people with lived experience. We work with people who often find it hard to get healthcare, including people living with hepatitis C. 

This role is part of a new structure within the Hepatitis C Trust and will lead the revitalisation of the Cheshire & Merseyside peer programme, ensuring it remains fit for purpose, resilient, and responsive to both community needs and funding opportunities. 

The successful candidate will drive forward a renewed vision for peer-led services across Merseyside and Cheshire—building on strong existing foundations while delivering innovation, equity, and measurable impact. This will encompass both the core Hepatitis C peer model and the peer-led Needle and Syringe Programme (NSP) alongside developing new opportunities. 

The Peer Services and Development Manager will:  

• Lead: Inspire and develop a high-performing peer and volunteer workforce, embedding patient led and inclusive practices. 

• Strategise: Design and implement innovative workforce and service strategies aligned with organisational values and national health priorities. 

• Innovate in Care: Drive excellence in hepatitis C and harm reduction services, ensuring equity, compliance, and measurable impact. 

• Collaborate: Build strong cross-sector partnerships with Operational Delivery Networks, local authorities, and Integrated Care Systems.

• Analyse & Report: Use data and performance insights to evaluate outcomes, identify inequalities, and inform service redesign or development. 

• Expand: Develop new models of care for underrepresented and hard-to-reach groups, scaling successful pilots nationally.

About the role:

Working as a Senior Keyworker you will be responsible for supervising a small group of keyworkers, planned and ad-hoc supervision is an integral part of the Senior role, and you will be supporting keyworkers with monthly supervision and have oversight of safeguarding for the women they work with.  You will be supporting the quality control for the region which will include dip-checks and data input.

You will have an in-depth knowledge of the range of needs and interventions required for women offenders. The ability to lead a small team to deliver inclusive, innovative and professional services.  The ability to not only maintain own a small caseload of women, never compromising on quality engagements, but also to role model best practice and lead a small team of Essex & Herts wide Keyworkers

Job Summary

The Senior IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process. The role will combine overseeing the provision of the Duty IDVA service, along with managing a reduced caseload.

You will ensure that the Duty service runs effectively, maintaining referral pathways, ensuring that documents and procedures are in place and embedded into working practice supporting those covering duty as required.

You will line manage the Duty Workers and will manage the allocation of cases from duty, liaising with Managers. You will assist the Manager with data collection, data analysis and problem solving.

You will also contribute to duty work, conducting calls and initial assessments and responding to crises, working within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women referred to our service.

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse sector and in working with women with children. The post holder will be proficient in data collection and case work recording. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, you will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

About Women in Prison

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. We also campaign for systems change that addresses the root causes of offending, reduces the harmful impact of prison, and creates workable, community-based alternatives to imprisonment.

Job Description:

Job Purpose:
Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending. 

The primary purpose of this role is to provide in-depth, ongoing support to a caseload of women who have been referred for support by prison staff, predominately the Mental Health In-Reach Teams and Primary Care Teams.

Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and support to women in contact with the criminal justice system.
2. Maintain case management systems to ensure accurate and timely data recording.
3. Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders such as statutory and voluntary sector agencies.
