Group Financial Controller | £675 - £700 per day (Umbrella) | Hybrid | London | 12-months

For a large international organisation, we are recruiting an Interim Group Financial Controller to focus on their short-term cash flow forecast model, intercompany, and trapped cash. Critically, this role will fully implement and embed the use of a 13-week short term cashflow forecast and will oversee the cash repatriation to the UK from overseas entities, liaising with Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Group Statutory Reporting, and the MSP. The Group Financial Controller will also lead monthly close, balance sheet integrity, intercompany processes and compliance, and develop insight and understanding of the company's working capital to drive initiatives to optimise.

Main Duties:

• Fully develop and embed the short-term 13-week cash flow forecast and process notes with the goal of transferring this to the MSP
• Coordinate work across Financial Control, Tax, and Treasury to improve cash repatriations to the UK (trapped cash)
• Leadership of change across global financial control activities including monthly-close, balance sheet integrity, intercompany processes and financial regulation compliance
• Partner with business units and regions to support change in the transactional finance activities, monthly close and financial compliance is carried out.
• Lead multiple stakeholders across territories to ensure consistent standards and performance including interaction with the MSP
• Drive improvement in understanding and reporting of working capital across the group and entities
• Key role in co-ordinating activity across Treasury, Tax, FP&A, Group Statutory reporting and the Managed Service Provider as well as overseas Finance teams to maximise accuracy

Purpose of the Role  

To coordinate Imkaan’s engagement with parliamentary spaces, campaigns, and influencing work. The postholder will support the organisation’s advocacy strategies, develop political communications, and strengthen relationships with policymakers, stakeholders, and the media to further the rights and recognition of Black and Minoritised women and girls affected by violence.  
The Parliamentary and Campaigns Coordinator will lead Imkaan’s parliamentary engagement and campaigning activity, ensuring the voices and experiences of Black and Minoritised women and girls are heard at the highest levels of decision-making. 

You will build relationships with MPs, peers, parliamentary committees, and government departments, track legislation and policy developments, and coordinate public campaigns to influence change. You will also work closely with Imkaan’s members to support grassroots mobilisation and bring frontline voices into national conversations.

 Key Responsibilities  

1) Campaign Strategy and Development 

• Support the design and delivery of evidence-based campaigns aligned with Imkaan’s strategic priorities. 

• Work with internal teams to craft campaign messages informed by research and sector data. 

• Develop and deliver campaigns that highlight the lived experiences and rights of Black and Minoritised women and girls 

• Work with the Communications Coordinator to create campaign messaging and digital content aligned with Imkaan’s values. Support the mobilisation of members and allies around key policy moments (e.g. consultations, votes, legislation) 

• Monitor impact of campaigns and contribute to cross-organisational reflection and learning. 

• Contribute to cross-organisational policy influencing strategy and calendar

• Build and maintain relationships with MPs, peers, parliamentary researchers, and civil servants

• Prepare Imkaan representatives and members for parliamentary meetings and public speaking engagements

About this role

Are you a detail-driven finance professional who will be able to support the COO in finance as well as developing of internal control policies and procedures?

Charity People are proud to be working with a £4million turnover trust based in London, to recruit for an interim Financial Controller. This is a maternity contract for 6-9 months. My client is seeking a motivated and hands-on finance professional to step into a pivotal role during maternity cover. The organisation has been through a period of significant change, and are looking for someone who can quickly take the reins and oversee all aspects of financial management, supported by a capable Finance Officer. This is a role for someone who thrives on rolling up their sleeves, bringing structure, and driving improvements.

You will have the opportunity to review and strengthen financial policies and processes, ensuring best practice across the organisation. In addition, my client is in the process of scoping a move to a new accounting system - offering the chance to play a key role in shaping and leading a system transformation.

Salary: £65,000 per annum + between 7.5% - 10% employer pension contributions

Contract: 35 hours per week, full time

Hybrid: Flexible home working, working from the office one to two days a week

Some of your key duties and responsibilities are;

• Management Accounts and payroll
• Preparation of monthly management reports and variance analysis. Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations,
  cash flow, payroll and headcount, key performance indicators and financial dashboard reports, commentary and
  analysis.
• To ensure the integrity of financial activities and financial records by developing, implementing, and maintaining
  accurate and efficient processes for all financial activity
• Manage payroll and pension functions, owning the relationship with our payroll provider and ensuring the necessary
  payments and returns are made to HMRC within the timescales required. Liaise with our payroll provider to ensure
  the year-end payroll is completed and the necessary returns issued to staff and HMRC (e.g. P11D)
• Providing support, advice and guidance to budget holders enabling them to understand their financial
  responsibilities, improve their recording and reporting processes and make decisions based on their financial
  management information.
• In conjunction with the COO, prepare annual budgets and forecast in line with the foundation's strategy and business plan
• Plan the annual audit - ensuring that the information and reports are made to the auditors in a timely fashion
• Preparation of the Foundation's annual statutory group accounts in accordance with regulatory requirements managing the relationship with the auditors
• VAT - Monitor the VAT positions of the Charity and Subsidiary company. Corporation tax filing
• Continual review and improvement of internal control processes
• Maintenance of relevant processes and systems to ensure the smooth running of the finance function
• Deputise for the COO.

Candidates applying for this role must have the following:

• A recognised CCAB qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
• Strong budgeting and financial management skills
• Preparation of management accounts and statutory accounts including consolidation
• Excellent accounting and Charity SORP knowledge
• Experience with VAT & Corporation tax
• Previous experience of holding a similar role in the charity sector
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of cloud accounting and reporting systems and confident in the use of Microsoft 365 suite as well as supporting systems such as CRM and relevant online applications (e.g. expenses).

About the role:

The postholder will support the delivery of a specialist domestic abuse (DA) project in partnership with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) in the London borough of Brent. The role aims to raise awareness and promote best practice in responding to domestic abuse across CLCH staff, improving support for patients impacted by domestic abuse. This will involve delivering training, workshops, and guidance to health professionals, providing consultancy on embedding DA response pathways, and helping CLCH navigate referrals to local domestic abuse support agencies. The role combines professional training, advocacy, and systems change to strengthen the health sector’s response to domestic abuse. The postholder will work across the Brent borough, attending community hubs and co-locating to deliver services when needed.

The postholder may be approached by staff seeking advice or consultation regarding male victims of domestic abuse. While the role’s primary focus remains on supporting women, the postholder will be open to supporting male victims through appropriate signposting and referral guidance. They will also be willing to undertake relevant training (e.g. Respect toolkit) to ensure inclusive and informed responses. Training will be provided.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Advisor & Trainer you will need the below experience and skills:

• A thorough understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence (physical, emotional and sexual violence, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families and communities.
• Experience in designing, delivering, and promoting engaging training and learning sessions on domestic abuse, tailored to professionals and stakeholders across a variety of settings.
• Experience of partnership working and of maintaining excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders as well as experience of working within in multi-agency environment.
• Ability to provide consultancy and guidance to multidisciplinary teams on domestic abuse-related issues, offering informed advice and support.
• Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal, and written), with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse professionals and stakeholders.
