The Support Fund Team Leader plays a vital role in the smooth and effective running of our Support Fund Team at the MND Association. This is a key position, responsible for assisting the Support Fund Manager, co-ordinating daily tasks for the team, and helping to deliver a high-quality service to people living with and affected by MND. The MND Association has provided over £1.5 million in support so far this year to around 2,000 people with MND. Demand is increasing, this role will be crucial in helping achieve further impact!

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-ordinate the rota and operational duties of the Support Fund Team
• Provide the team with support and supervision on a day-to-day basis
• Deliver training to new staff and provide mentoring to existing team members
• Act as the first point of contact for complex queries and support cases
• Oversee the processing of support grant applications in line with organisational policies
• Ensure accurate, up-to-date records are maintained and administrative procedures followed
• Support the team to make best use of our CRM system and improve internal processes
• Collaborate with the Partnerships Team to build relationships with other charities and support agencies to identify opportunities for joint working to help drive innovation
• Monitor service delivery standards and take action to improve quality where needed
• Promote safety and wellbeing, addressing risks and safeguarding concerns as required
• Maintain confidentiality in line with data protection policy and organisational values

The Role
Lead the delivery of planned activities and promotion of legacy and in memory fundraising products.

Work closely with the Individual Giving Lead, to co-plan and co-deliver the flagship in memory appeal,including a cash appeal, local remembrance services, public dedication list instalments and a community radio show.

Use data and insights to report on legacy and in memory activity and evaluate performance, identifying learnings and recommendations for future activities and applying test and learn principles.

The Candidate
Fundraising experience ideally with strong knowledge of in memory and/or legacy fundraising within the not-for-profit sector.

Experience of using a variety of on- and offline channels to deliver successful marketing campaigns to acquire and develop donors / customers.

Experience of managing income and expenditure budgets.

Ability to manage and nurture relationships with key existing and potential legacy and in memory donars.

As a member of our helpline team, you will provide emotional support and practical guidance to individuals in need, responding to calls, emails, and web chats. You will support individuals who have experienced various forms of violence and abuse, including domestic violence, hate crimes, sexual violence, and so-called conversion therapies. Your role will involve offering a compassionate, non-judgmental, and empathetic ear to those reaching out for help, while carefully assessing each situation to determine the appropriate level of support. You will conduct risk assessments, provide safeguarding assistance, assist with safety planning, signposting, and, when necessary, support with referring individuals on to the right services, always ensuring the highest standards of care and support.

We are seeking a candidate with experience in providing trauma-informed support to victims and survivors. The ideal candidate will possess strong resilience, a commitment to self-care, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of LGBT victims and survivors. You will be able to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and a proactive approach in offering emotional and practical support, while ensuring a safe and empowering environment for those in need.
 
There is a genuine occupational requirement under the Sexual Orientation Regulations 2003 for this post. It is considered essential that post holders have experience of LGBT needs, and impact of discrimination as the Helpline is run for LGBT victim/survivors of violence and abuse.

To provide appropriate emotional and practical support to women in the sex industry  and/or those who are being sexually exploited with a specific focus on those who are homeless. The women we support require intensive practical and emotional support as well as  support navigating health and other social care or criminal justice systems. The women will have poor mental or physical health,  experience  with homelessness and of the criminal justice system, are often victims of sexual and/or domestic abuse and many are homeless. This post specifically will offer support through the Housing First approach, offering access to a home, alongside intensive support. Working within a harm reduction ethos prioritising women’s safety and wellbeing, the intensive personalized supported will help women to access other services making appropriate referrals for women who wish to make changes, including exiting/transitioning out of sex work. You will be responsible for ensuring that women with varying needs are supported effectively throughout their pathway of support with Basis and partners, advocating for and with the women you are working with including where necessary challenging stigma and judgement women face. This post will work in close partnership with the Tenancy Management Support worker employed by Turning Lives Around.

Our services in Leeds provide support to adult women (and those identifying as women/non- binary) involved in all aspects of the sex industry or who are experiencing exploitation. The postholder will provide support to women identified as requiring or accessing intensive support. The team work to Basis’ organisational values, taking a rights-based approach and provide evidence-based services to enable and empower women to make informed choices. The team have an established reputation for providing high quality, effective safety advice, information and support, enabling safer working practices. Services are provided within the community, on evening outreach and at venues as women determine.

BACKGROUND

Ashiana is a ‘by and for’ women's led BME VAWG service with 30 years’ experience in delivering a holistic range of specialist services to South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women affected by VAWG.

OUR SERVICES

Ashiana runs three refuges with a total of 29 bedspaces; specifically for women aged 16-35 fleeing forced marriage. This multi award winning project is the only service of its kind in the UK and is highly innovative in terms of addressing an area of significant need not met in other refuge provision. Within these refuges we designate a number of bedspaces for women with no recourse to public funds. We offer an advice and support service to women and girls who are experiencing VAWG, enabling them to make informed decisions and exit violent relationships. We provide a legal service supporting women with no recourse to public funds to help resolve their immigration status.

Counselling is offered for women and girls affected by VAWG. The counselling service works from an integrative stance, with the focus of providing a holistic service whereby we also work alongside other services and provide specialist domestic violence group work. The emphasis of therapeutic work with our clients is from a trauma informed model.

We also deliver an education programme for young people in secondary schools in East London aimed at preventing domestic violence and enabling young people experiencing domestic violence to access appropriate services. The prevention service includes delivering a whole school approach in schools to young people as well as group work to women and girls across North East London boroughs as well as community engagement activities and delivery. We deliver a range of awareness raising workshops for young people in the community and training on domestic violence for professionals in the voluntary and statutory sector.

PRIMARY TASK

The post is instrumental in overseeing the delivery of a comprehensive package of services and care for women in our refuges. To provide a safe environment and a service that is appropriate to the needs of young BME women particularly those from South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern communities and to support ex-clients following resettlement.

The post holder will have a caseload of clients and be responsible for providing advice, advocacy, casework and support to women and girls, advocating on behalf of these women and making others aware of their particular needs. The post-holder is required to demonstrate sensitivity and an awareness of the culture and needs of  minoritised communities in all aspects of their duties and responsibilities.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Trauma Informed Therapist to join the team. Leading peer-mentoring support to trauma-informed therapists while delivering trauma-informed therapeutic services. We are a dynamic service with a holistic service model, so the senior role is supporting wider than just direct delivery.

You'll play a key role in supporting clients, managing communications, supporting volunteers/placements. You will work closely with our Community Development and Criminal Justice Services teams to ensure survivors have access to the right support. All staff have a Thematic Leadership area to expand the organisations knowledge in areas impacting male survivors and their loved ones.

You’ll be someone who is a qualified and experienced therapist working with trauma. We’re especially keen to hear from people with experience in working with men, sexual harms and supporting therapists and trainees, but we value transferable skills too. The post-holder will be responsible for deliver a range of support interventions for people newly diagnosed with HIV, and those re-engaging in their HIV care, who may be identified via Emergency Department Opt-Out testing in Liverpool.

Collaboratively work with Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LUFHT) to ensure people living with HIV receive practical, social and emotional support. The delivery of peer support in a clinic setting and, in the community, and onward referrals to relevant services.

Ensure that people living with HIV in vulnerable circumstances are supported to minimise the risk of them returning to ‘need to find’ status and remain engaged in services.

We seek someone with experience working with diverse communities. Knowledge and understanding of the common experiences and need of people living with HIV is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant qualification (such as an NVQ Level 3 or above in social work, health, education) or equivalent experience, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

At the Poppy Factory, we help armed forces veterans to find meaningful and sustainable employment after service. This often means overcoming a longstanding health condition or injury, and other barriers to employment such as addiction & homelessness. Our aim is to empower veterans, help them to recognise their unique skills and give them the confidence and skills to move forwards in their career.

As a Navigator, you will be assisting veterans who are furthest from employment to engage in meaningful activity as they look to gradually progress back towards work. Based at your home, with regular travel, including some overnight stays at our Richmond offices. The Navigator is a non-clinical role focused on supporting Veterans with mental or physical health conditions. The role aims to support them to overcome various factors impacting their lives, to achieve improved well-being and reduced social isolation. Clients of the service may present with issues around housing, accessing relevant health care services, substance misuse, education and training, financial concerns, and benefits, amongst others.

• Empathetic and effective communicator. You will be comfortable building rapport and trust with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.

• A collaborative mindset. You will enjoy working as part of a team with colleagues based across the UK who support each other in what can sometimes be a challenging role. you will work closely with many other organisations for the benefit of the veterans you are supporting.

• Adaptability. This is hugely varied role, and no two days are the same. You will need to balance competing priorities or quickly shift focus depending on the needs of the people you are supporting.
