The successful candidate will join our busy Governance team, reporting to the Head of Governance and working closely within a core team of two officers and two senior officers. 

As a Senior Governance Officer, you will provide high quality governance support to the senior executive, Board and Committees as well as other stakeholders across the Fund engaging pro-actively with other teams and stakeholders across the Fund.  You will have a good understanding of governance in the public or voluntary/charity sector and be able to quickly familiarise yourself with the Fund’s complex governance framework.  You will be expected to use your knowledge and judgment to provide prompt and high-quality advice and feedback. 

You will show leadership in identifying, implementing, and maintaining effective governance processes and best practice, bringing changes where needed. 

A team player you will take pride in your work and the work of the Governance team. 

Day to day responsibilities will include:

• You will work strategically, managing complex meeting schedules and governance processes. 
• You will be attentive to the needs of the business and be customer focussed.
• You will ensure Fund governance processes and procedures are proactively and effectively managed and supported.

  The ideal candidate:

• You will have experience of working in governance, or a governance-related position. 
• You will be reliable, highly responsive, flexible and maintain high attention to detail and pro-actively identify and address gaps.
• You will be able to manage multiple priorities, handling complex schedules, and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
• You will have excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally, to a range of customers including senior stakeholders.
• You will be experienced and skilled in writing quality meeting minutes promptly after meetings. 
• You will have the ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals.

The role is hybrid and UK based. However you will be able to travel to London for team’s meetings and occasionally to other locations within the UK to support governance meetings when required.

About the role

As a Foundation we are committed to learning together with others and reflecting and acting on what we learn. The Learning & Insight Officer will play a key part in delivering our learning, monitoring and research activities, and we want the successful candidate to be able to develop their skills and interest within the role. Main Responsibilities

• Work with colleagues to design and implement systems for the LEF to collect data and to capture and share learning in a systematic way that reflects our values and our commitment to Power, Cuture and Inclusion.

• Coordinate a timetable of activities for LEF to learn from its grants and direct work (such as regular feedback surveys and internal reflection sessions).

• Work with colleagues to collate and analyse evidence from organisations we fund to identify key insights and learning (such as reports and notes from grant management calls).

• Work with the Head of Learning & Insight and wider grants team colleagues to prepare our grants data for publication (for example through 360Giving and as part of the Funders for Racial Equality Alliance (FREA) Audit)

• Support the LEF to communicate insights in accessible and engaging ways.

• Work with colleagues to prepare key insight reports and data for a range of audiences such as colleagues, trustees or other funders.

• Work with colleagues to run internal sessions with staff and trustees to reflect on our processes (what is working well, less well and what we can improve about how we work) and understand the progress the LEF is making towards its strategic objectives.

• Work with colleagues to run online and in-person events to bring together the organisations and people we fund to reflect and learn from one another.

• Support the development of a ‘culture of learning’ within the LEF and with grantees and 

• Work with the Head of Learning & Insight to commission and manage external contractors for particular pieces of work (for example, research briefs or learning partnerships).

• Provide administrative support on tasks, such as scheduling meetings.

• Carry out such tasks as the Director of Grants & Learning or Head of Learning & Insight may from time to time deem necessary for the effective and efficient functioning of the Foundation.

Under the direction of the Service Management Team, you will lead the coordination of targeted interventions, including brief interventions, group work, and assertive outreach, aimed at individuals and groups at risk of harm from substance misuse. Responsibilities

About the role: 

• Lead on the coordination and delivery of the service’s prevention, early intervention, targeted education offers, and youth settings.
• To increase visibility and accessibility of the service amongst children, young people, families, and partners with the aim of increasing referrals into service for specialist support.
• Identifying and responding effectively to potential safeguarding issues.
• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community.
• Promoting carer, service user and community involvement.
• To be responsible for proactively generating and increasing referrals from relevant partners including utilising data to target specific services/provisions.
• To develop and deliver training programmes aimed at creating awareness of the service alongside delivering early intervention key messages to professionals.
• To analyse and scrutinise data to identify gaps in areas where the service can take a proactive approach to engagement.
• To create presentations that will engage young people, using harm reduction and psychoeducation.

About you: 

• You have experience working with young people, with knowledge of the issues they face.
• Knowledge of safeguarding concerns and guidelines in relation to children and young people and the Fraser Competence framework.
• You have a good understanding of drug and alcohol issues and be able to speak about this publicly.

The online world was not created with children in mind and can be unsafe for children and young people to explore. Every phone and computer is a potential gateway for offenders seeking to sexually exploit children. Our Alliance generates political commitment and practical approaches to make the digital world safe and positive for children, preventing sexual abuse and long-term harm.

Our Alliance’s geographical reach is unprecedented: 103 governments are members along with 82 private sector companies, 126 civil society organisations and 10 intergovernmental organisations. Overall purpose of role

As the WeProtect Global Alliance Head of Strategy, you will lead a small team to build a global network, evidence base and policy portfolio to guide and drive the implementation of our Strategy and mission targets. Your team will provide high level analysis and ask critical questions, supporting the Alliance to identify immediate and emerging issues which may require investigation or exploration, support the Policy Board, Executive Team, Head of Members and Head of Development to navigate key strategic decisions.

You will also work closely with the Head of Members and Head of Development to support the development of new ways of working to harness Alliance members and broader community of practice to understand our collective impact and ensure our secretariat, members and broader organization actively remain relevant and focused on delivering our mission and strategic objectives. 

You will lead the WeProtect Global Alliance Research and Policy work, with key accountability for the following outcomes:

· Work with the Executive Team and Policy Board to implement the existing WeProtect Global Alliance strategy and ensure the forthcoming strategy remains targeted and focused on achieving the Alliance’s global ambition.

· Work with the Executive Team and Policy Board to develop and implement the WeProtect Global Alliance approach, strategy and operational targets on participation and engagement.

· Collaborate with the Head of Members, the Head of Development and MEL lead to collectively build, maintain and oversee our theory of change and operational model to ensure our Strategy remains impactful and has real world impact on the lives of children and young people.

· Provide inspirational leadership and empower our Policy Manager and Research Manager to pro-actively deliver a portfolio of work that will raise the profile of our mission and shift the needle on governmental, public and private sector agencies approaches to child protection and safety in the digital world. This includes overseeing the production of the WeProtect Global Alliance biennial Global Threat Assessment, Model National Response and Global Strategic Response.

· Build and maintain meaningful engagement with a broad range of external stakeholders across the public, private and third sector (including government agencies, advocacy communities, specialist tech and civil society organisations) across the globe to deliver the WeProtect Global Alliance strategic mission.

· Play an active role in building the operational resilience, financial sustainability and compliance capability and capacity of the Secretariat to provide a world class service to our members and Board to ensure WeProtect Global Alliance remains focused on creating a world where children and young people can access and participate in the digital world free from harm, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation.

Key Responsibilities

1. To lead the Strategy team, ensuring the research and policy portfolios are informed by best practice to achieve our mission, vision and embody our values.  This includes working across the Secretariat to deliver the existing strategy and collaborate with Executive Team to develop and implement our new strategy.

• Create infographics and data visualisations to simplify complex information

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 3-years experience, preferably in a campaigning, non-profit, or trade union environment

Press and Communications Officer​

Age UK Camden is an independent charity supporting older people throughout the borough of Camden. This role sits within the Fundraising and Marketing Team, responsible for raising the profile of Age UK Camden within the borough and generating income for the organisation.​

The Press and Communications officer will oversee our press and media activity, writing press releases and building strong relationships with local and, where relevant, national media. The post holder will be responsible for producing marketing materials – print and online – for the organisation. The post holder will be responsible for Age UK website – liaising with colleagues to keep service information up to date, writing and producing relevant news articles and content as needed, auditing and organising existing website content.  This role also supports the fundraising and income generation areas of work within the organisation including producing communications and materials for aspects such as fundraising campaigns, corporate volunteering and general fundraising activities. ​
