We are seeking an Exhibitions and Collections Projects Manager to join the Crafts Council on a permanent basis. This is a vital role in the Public Programmes team to oversee the maintenance and development of Crafts Council Collections and the delivery of key temporary exhibitions.

Reporting to the Senior Collections and Programme Manager, this role will ensure the Crafts Council Collections are documented and preserved to a high standard for future generations. They will also support the strategic development of the Crafts Council’s programme, managing relationships with external commercial partners, artists and institutions, overseeing project budgets and timelines and contributing to reporting and evaluation frameworks.

This is a dynamic and hands-on role which involves working across the organisation and beyond to deliver and communicate best practice in exhibition production and collection management.

About You

• You will bring adept production and organisational skills to this role
• You will be confident leading the planning and delivery of exhibitions and collection projects working in collaboration with artists, partners, contractors and venues
• As an experienced exhibition project manager, with expertise in collection management, you will have a strong understanding of what it takes to successfully realise displays to a high standard and be familiar with collection management procedures and systems
• You should be a self-starter who is confident working independently and as part of a team
• You should be a clear communicator ensuring that project information is disseminated and adhered to by all stakeholders.

Main Duties

In collaboration with the Senior Collections and Programme Manager, you will:

• Oversee planning and arrangements for installation and de-installation of exhibitions including Brookfield Properties Craft Award summer exhibitions
• Maintain exhibition and collection project budgets, timelines and documentation to a high standard
• Lead dynamic teams of casual assistants, freelance technicians, designers, conservators and photographers as required
• Facilitate accessibility of the Crafts Council Collections including Primary, Handling, Archive, Oral Histories and Library. Leading on both online accessibility via Collections Online and ensuring the collection is available to its audiences physically
• Ensure maximum impact from National Lottery Heritage Funded project 'Craft for the People' Is achieved, ensuring crafts council collection is available to a wider amount of people and is more resilient
• Oversee management of upcoming loans, arranging object transportation, entry and exit processes, loan agreements, mounting and conservation, where needed
• Lead on loans marketing and collections income generation projects
• Oversee collection management projects, including acquisitions, auditing, condition checking, improving packing, image and copyright licensing, object photography, location and movement control. Recording Information on Crafts Council's CMS Museum Index +
• Review and improve collections storage processes, embed collections trust benchmarks in security, building management system for temperature and humidity control, pest and disaster management
• Contribute to implementing cost-effective and environmentally sustainable working practices for exhibitions and collection maintenance
• Ensuring that we are recording the impact of our programming by recording data and KPI's. Integrating our customer relationship management system Salesforce.

Salary

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Community Outreach Manager to manage and expand our outreach efforts. The Community Outreach Manager will be responsible for leading a team to deliver Betknowmore UK's Community Outreach services, engaging with local communities, and supporting individuals impacted by gambling harms. 

This is a key leadership role that involves overseeing the service’s strategy, operations, and delivery, ensuring that services are accessible, effective, and meet the needs of diverse communities.

What we want from you

We’re looking for someone with knowledge and experience of working in a fundraising environment – ideally within a community or events context. You’ll have a proven track record of delivering brilliant supporter experiences, building genuine relationships and stewarding fundraisers through their events. You’ll understand the importance of meeting supporter needs and how to keep them inspired and connected to the cause.

You’ll bring excellent organisational skills and experience of planning and managing projects with multiple stakeholders, making sure we hit our KPIs and maximise fundraising income. With knowledge of how to plan, deliver and evaluate marketing activity, including digital campaigns on Meta, you’ll be comfortable finding ways to engage new supporters and keep them motivated.

A forward-thinker and natural problem solver, you won’t be afraid to use your initiative and analytical skills to spot opportunities for improvement and help shape new ideas. You’ll have experience developing, or supporting the development of, annual fundraising plans and budgets, and delivering against these to meet targets.

Clear, motivational communication comes naturally to you, whether it’s writing to supporters, updating colleagues or reporting on results. You’ll also be confident using databases to keep accurate records, analyse data and share insights that help us grow.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role builds on the work of our Feminist Green New Deal  project. The Feminist Green New Deal puts the needs and priorities of women, racialised and marginalised groups at the heart of all climate policy and action and advocates for a care-led green recovery from our multiple crises of climate breakdown and inequality. The role will continue to develop our Feminist Green New Deal work engaging new audiences, stakeholders and writing new policy papers. 

As a Feminist Climate Justice Policy Campaigner you will make connections with policy makers, government departments, NGOs and influencers, bringing an intersectional feminist lens to these spaces. You will need to keep up to speed with UK climate policies and how these impact women. 

Wen works at the grassroots and policy level ensuring that grassroots perspectives are part of and shape climate policy making so a key part of the role will be linking these two levels.  You will work closely with our Climate Sisters  programme and the Tower Hamlets Food Partnership which inform our Feminist Green New Deal policy asks and campaigns, advocating for inclusive climate policy rooted in the priorities of women,  particularly racialised and marginalised groups.  We are looking to recruit a policy campaigner with in-depth  knowledge of the policy systems and strategic thinking about how to advocate for feminist climate justice at local, regional and national level in the UK working in collaboration with others.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key responsibilities:

• Bring an intersectional feminist climate justice lens to policy makers and debates with a focus on climate, health, food justice and environmental policies

• Work collaboratively with Wen’s Climate Sisters team to make strong connections between the grassroots and policy, drafting and devising policy responses to influence government climate policy

• Develop strategic partnerships and relationships with MPs, government departments, All Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs), Ministers, Select Committees and key organisations in this field

• Submit evidence to Select Committee reports, inquiries and input into draft bills

• Actively engage with civil society movements around climate justice and policy

• Produce a variety of resources on the issues such as policy briefings, blogs, social media posts and talks

• Campaign on relevant policy debates on social media and other media working with the Wen comms team and influencers to communicate the issues to a wide range of audiences

• Identify, monitor, and evaluate policy issues appropriate to Wen 

• Travel and attend related policy work meetings, events and workshops as agreed

Purpose of the role:

The purpose of this role is to build on our programme of strategic engagement with our key audiences, in order to build our presence, influence and networks in a wide range of UK sectors and topical issues. This includes leading the design and delivery of some of our focused programmes in which we award Fellowships and supporting the Fellows awarded into these programmes to help them increase their UK impact once they’ve done their overseas learning. This role is responsible for delivering all engagement activity across our Arts and culture, Community and citizenship, Environment and resources and Governance and public provision universal themes.  

Key responsibilities:

Programme Development and Delivery

• With oversight from the Engagement Director, and working with members of the Advisory Council to develop the focus and goals of a three-year Fellowship programme within our Governance and Public Provision universal theme through a process of desk-based research and consultation workshops
• Working with the Head of Comms to design and plan the launch of the new programme to applicants
• Working with the Head of Fellowship to design a support package for applicants into the programme
• With oversight from the Engagement Director, creating and facilitating a Working Group of Fellows, partners and Council members to support the cohort of Fellows awarded within this programme. And working with the other Research and Engagement Manager to develop and enhance our approach to stewarding these Working Groups including ones already in place for our other programmes.

• Supporting the Engagement Director in the recruitment and stewardship of Knowledge Partners for this programme and other programmes under your four thematic sectors

• Working with members of our Advisory Council to review our two environment related programmes with a view to revising them or developing them further.
• Reviewing the progress of each programme under your remit with the relevant Advisory Council members and the Working Group at the end of the applications cycle and before the programme reopens for applications

 Sector Relations & Networking

• Researching target audiences, stakeholders, partners and allies, in the four thematic sectors you oversee. Building relationships and maintaining our database of these.
• Developing and managing a systematic programme of engagement with these audiences, through communications and activities including talks, briefings, events, newsletters, publications and other opportunities.
• Systematic promotion of Fellows into these sectors.

Creation of Engagement Content

• Designing and delivering a programme of engagement events for Fellows including webinars and convenings to provide support, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities for the community of Fellows
• Leading on the design and delivery of a programme of wrap-up engagement activity for Fellows in our Rural communities programme
• Leading on the discovery and development phase of a programme of wrap-up engagement activity for Fellows in our Arts and Communities and Children and Young People with experience of care programmes.

Working for The Churchill Fellowship 

• Salary c. £43,000-46,000 per annum (5 days per week / 36.5 hours)

We have embraced the benefits of working from home and at the same time, we value the contribution of face-to-face contact in building teamwork, collaborating with your colleagues, exchanging ideas and know-how, and for work efficiency. We therefore operate a hybrid working policy, where staff can work from home if they wish, however everyone is required to work in the office a minimum of 1 to 2 days a week with Tuesdays as the core day for regular whole team meetings.
