Democracy Classroom is a partnership of over 100 civil society organisations from the youth, education and democracy sectors working together to support young people to engage in elections and democracy.
The network is supported by the Democracy Classroom Platform, which brings together over 1000 free educational resources for teachers and youth practitioners.
Democracy Classroom is a non-partisan, UK-wide initiative and a leading voice for the sector, reaching teachers and youth practitioners in 95% of the UK’s parliamentary constituencies. It coordinates the collective voice of organisations committed to democratic education, including through its joint submission to the Department for Education’s Curriculum and Assessment Review and the publication of The Roadmap to Votes at 16, a collaborative vision for the implementation of Votes at 16.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Partnerships Manager to strengthen and grow our connections across the youth, education and democracy sectors. You will play a key role in expanding and deepening the Democracy Classroom Network, helping to increase its reach, visibility and impact on democratic education across the UK.
The role will support organisations to prepare for and collaborate on upcoming changes in democratic engagement and education - such as the introduction of Votes at 16 - ensuring the sector is coordinated, informed and ready to respond collectively.
This is a dynamic, people-focused role supporting more than 100 partner organisations to collaborate, share learning and deliver joined-up support for teachers and youth practitioners. You will combine excellent relationship-building with the ability to think strategically, spot opportunities and translate them into practical action.
You will work closely with the Head of Communications and Networks, the Communications Lead, and colleagues across The Politics Project to ensure that partners are supported, connected and able to collaborate effectively. The role blends strategic relationship management with hands-on coordination and communication.
Key responsibilities include:
Partnership management
- Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with over 100 existing civil society partners.
- Act as the main point of contact for partner queries, feedback and support.
- Identify and onboard new organisations to join the Democracy Classroom Network.
- Facilitate partner input into planning, decision-making and shared problem-solving.
Strategic development and coordination
- Identify new opportunities for collaboration, policy influence and sector engagement.
- Advise senior colleagues on partnership trends, risks and emerging opportunities.
- Develop and deliver partner communication strategies, ensuring information and opportunities are shared clearly and consistently.
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams to ensure joined-up delivery and coherent partner messaging.
Engagement and representation
- Plan and deliver Democracy Classroom meetings, training sessions and networking events.
- Represent The Politics Project at external meetings and events, acting as an ambassador for our collaborative and non-partisan approach.
Monitoring and reporting
- Track partner engagement, feedback and satisfaction to inform continuous improvement.
- Support monitoring, evaluation and reporting to demonstrate the impact of the network.
This is a fast-paced role in a small but growing team. The post includes a six-month probation period and is fixed-term until March 2027, with potential for extension depending on funding. Occasional travel within the UK and some evening or weekend work will be required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Proven experience in partnership or stakeholder management, ideally within civil society, education or government sectors.
- Demonstrable ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for collaboration or growth.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Excellent project management and organisational abilities.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Confident working with, and understanding of, the education and youth sectors (teaching or youth work experience not required).
- Knowledge of and interest in UK politics and democratic engagement.
- IT literate, with strong working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive etc).
- Self-motivated, resilient and solutions-focused.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends and travel within the UK.
Desirable
- Experience managing databases or CRM systems.
- Experience monitoring and evaluating partnership impact and producing reports.

The Deputy Contract Manager is responsible for the operational management of our specialist customer focused support services across the service. ShelterBox is seeking a dedicated, motivated and proactive professional with a training background, and the ability to develop and execute complex training plans at the forefront of their skills.
We are looking for someone to fit into a passionate and purpose-driven team, who can take ownership of a broad range of training programmes, and balance the needs of multiple projects at once.
The individual should enjoy delivering training, developing annual plans to address the compliance needs of an organisation, managing complex logistics involved with residential training, and working alongside staff and volunteers.

Main role and responsibilities
As Training Manager, you will be responsible for the development, planning and delivery of ShelterBox's core training calendar. This encompasses our range of mandatory and compliance training courses, alongside our residential training programmes and any other programmes as decided in collaboration with the Head of Learning and Development. Through careful planning, budgeting and engagement with key stakeholders across the organisation, you will ensure the core calendar and associated training content is relevant to the evolving business needs and is able to be accessed by all who require it. You will ensure the stewardship and maintenance of our training resources, and relationship management of key contacts at our training venues and volunteers to enable long-term, sustainable delivery of our programmes. In addition, you will support the delivery of other L&D solutions as required by other organisational requirements.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Annual planning of our core training calendar in-line with the business planning and budgeting cycle
- Development and management of the budget to enable the delivery of the core training calendar in-line with the budgeting cycle and promoting the best value-for money
- Planning and delivery of the Travel Security Training programme in-line with the requirements of the Deployable Personnel Minimum Training Standards Policy
- Planning and delivery of the We Are ShelterBox programme in-line with the induction pathway and business need
- Working with the People Assistant, ensure the management of all course and participant logistics including travel, accommodation and expenses.
- Scheduling and delivery of all compliance and mandatory training programmes including, but not limited to: GDPR; Cyber Security; Anti-Money Laundering; Anti Bribery; Payment Card Industry; First Aid; Trauma Risk Management; Fire Marshall, Etc.
- Maintenance and resupply of all training resources required to deliver our core calendar programmes, including inventory management of our 40ft shipping container.
- Business partnering with key risk owners such as Head of Legal and Risk, IT Service and Security Manager, Facilities Manager, and Head of Security to ensure our compliance needs are being met with the course content we have available, amending as necessary.
- Track and report on the compliance of our people against our mandatory and compliance programmes, feeding into the People and Risk Committee papers.
- Manage all risk assessment and mitigations processes for our training programmes, ensuring they are up to date, relevant to the risks faced on our programmes and our compliance with them.
- Support the management of the Qualsafe-registered "ShelterBox Training Centre" that enables the delivery of in-house first aid qualifications.
- Deliver Qualsafe-regulated, in-house first aid training as well as developing and delivering austere first aid training packages relevant to our work in high-risk environments.
- Develop and manage relationships with external service providers and volunteers to enable the sustainable delivery of our residential training programmes.
- Work with the learning management system to ensure all learning initiatives are tracked and monitored for completion.
- Support the delivery of capacity sharing initiatives with our programme partners in high-risk locations as required by the Programme Delivery team.
- Support the delivery of corporate and donor engagement events as required by the Philanthropy and Partnerships team
Other responsibilities
- Any other duties as required which are deemed appropriate to the level and grade of the post.

The Temperate Rainforest Restoration Programme is a £38.9 million, 100-year programme working in a long-term partnership with Aviva. Native to the British Isles, temperate rainforest is an incredibly rare and biodiverse habitat, rarer even, than its tropical counterpart. This programme is going beyond traditional habitat restoration and creating new rainforests on eligible sites across the bioclimatic envelope (the area along our Atlantic coastline with the specific conditions needed for rainforest to thrive).
This post will work across teams within The Wildlife Trusts’ to tell the story of this restoration and promote the importance of temperate rainforests based on connecting with people and telling their first-hand accounts of the work of Wildlife Trusts along the west of the UK, with a particular focus on Wales. This role will need to relay stories of how nature restoration benefits communities helping them adapt to our changing climate. Your work will give a voice to living memories of the land but also look ahead, effectively and compassionately communicating the need for a just transition to create more resilient landscapes that benefit future generations.
About You
You are a passionate science communicator with a demonstrable ability to inspire action in others for nature’s recovery. Your strong communications skills include the ability to create clear, audience-specific messaging and use digital tools to engage and connect with people wherever they are. You can build coherent narratives so that stories gather momentum over time and balance personal storytelling with the need to maintain brand consistency. About the Role

Approved Premises (APs) work with high-risk people released from prison, providing a vital element in public protection arrangements. APs offer a level of contact, support and supervision within the community that is unique within the Criminal Justice System. This is an opportunity to be part of a dedicated, enthusiastic staff team at our male Approved Premises in Battersea, playing a key role in pro-social modelling, rehabilitation and community reintegration for those ready to make positive choices.
Working closely with Probation Officers and other community services such as police, health, housing and substance misuse, we provide a stepping stone from prison into the community.
As a member of the Approved Premises team, you will model pro-social behavior and foster a positive, respectful culture with both clients and colleagues. You will actively engage with residents, supporting communal activities such as meal preparation, and contribute to the delivery of individual sentence plans in collaboration with probation officers, police, and external agencies.
Your role will involve providing administrative and practical support, ensuring daily tasks are completed, and following all operational protocols. You will encourage compliance and enforce rules relating to curfews and drug and alcohol testing as required. Keeping colleagues, multi-agency partners, and management informed is essential.
You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health, safety, security, cleanliness, and well-being of the premises and residents, utilizing tools such as CCTV, observation, and direct personal contact. Accurate, timely record-keeping and appropriate information sharing with respect for confidentiality are critical components of this role.
Using your initiative, you will identify and address additional tasks or emerging issues, working within the service to maintain an enabling environment. What You'll Be Doing

A little more about your day as a Fire Safety Project Manager:

We are recruiting a fundraising manager to be responsible for stewarding and cultivating a major supporter to deliver a bespoke charity of the year partnership and a portfolio of community and special events that generates income for their family fund. In this role you will strengthen engagement, drive income, have a creative flair that will deliver memorable fundraising experiences to an influential regional network through a number of activities including runs, walks and gala dinners.
This role sits within our Community and Events team. The team bring together and inspires individuals, families and communities to support the work of Kidney Research UK. They deliver an exciting and diverse portfolio of fundraising activity from physical challenges, to bake sales, to online activities. They’re dedicated to connecting with both new and existing supporters, helping them raise funds, spread awareness, and build a lasting network of #TeamKidney hero's!
You will have proven experience in managing a portfolio of fundraising or special events within a charity or corporate space with experience managing budgets, negotiating suppliers, and monitoring financial performance. In addition, you will have excellent relationship building and communication skills across a range of stakeholders, with exceptional project management and organisational skills, with a strong attention to detail. You will need a full driving licence, with access to a car for attending meetings and events.

The Role
The organisation supports local areas to use evidence to improve their services and outcomes for children and families. The Practice Development Officer will be part of a team who work with local leaders to support their decision making about how to increase the availability of services and approaches which have evidence of improving child outcomes.
As Practice Development Officer, you will support work that helps local services for children and families use evidence more effectively across Family Hubs, Family Help, and statutory social work. You will contribute to projects aligned with Foundations’ priority areas, including domestic abuse, supporting parenting, strengthening family networks and relationships for care experienced children.
Your tasks will include organising and coordinating activities that support service improvement, designing and delivering learning sessions to build skills and confidence in using evidence, supporting the generation of new evidence to understand what works, and working with national organisations to promote the wider use of evidence in practice.
About You
We are looking for someone with an in-depth understanding of UK policy, legislation and practice relating to children’s services, including how this responds to the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups.
You will have experience of:
- Practice in children’s social work and/or early intervention services
- Co-ordinating projects for service improvement or practice development in a relevant sector, for example local authority children’s services, health, or NHS
- Translating complex information into practical messages, advice, and tools.

The special events manager is responsible for the leadership, development and delivery of the Special Events portfolio including income generating and stewardship events. The special events manger will work closely with senior stakeholders, internally and externally, to deliver high quality and high value events, including gala dinners, engagement events, online auctions, virtual events and a golf day. The role will manage all aspects of events from concept to completion. The role looks after high value event relationships, including an event committee, and implementing a strategic plan to deliver and grow unrestricted income for our Transforming Treatments campaign and beyond.
You will have experience of project management and creation of high calibre income generating events, including gala dinners and be used to managing events from concept to delivery, including oversight of the project budget and expenditure. In addition, you will be able to manage all event operations on the day with the ability to confidently coordinate, lead and direct teams of staff and volunteers.
