About the role

You’ll lead our finance function, line managing two team members, and overseeing all aspects of financial operations. You will maintain accurate financial records and systems that meet charity accounting standards and the requirements of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP).

Global Health Partnerships (GHP – formerly THET) is a global health charity working in partnership with governments, health institutions, and international bodies to train health workers and strengthen health systems across 31 countries. We do this through grants management and capacity building, alongside research, convening and advocacy towards the goal of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). At the centre of our approach, is the model of Health Partnerships, long-term relationships between UK and low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) health institutions, which improve health services through the reciprocal exchange of skills, knowledge, and experience. At the heart of our work is vision of a world where everyone has access to healthcare.

GHP is seeking a consultant to conduct a study examining the work of GHWP in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria. The consultant will lead investigations into the benefits and impact of HP health systems and health workforce interventions under the DHSC-funded GHWP.

This study will explore and examine the value added of the Health Partnership approach to the health systems of the three partner countries.  While the effectiveness and impact of health workforce and health system strengthening interventions have been highlighted through GHWP reports and sharing and learning events in each of the three countries, insights and results have not yet been sufficiently synthesised or documented in a way that supports advocacy, resource mobilisation and policy positioning.

This study will review and examine existing literature and data, including published and grey literature, GHWP reports, reports from other DHSC-funded GHP projects, and other available documentation on the benefits of the Health Partnership model (see Related Papers section). Some primary qualitative data collection and analysis may be required.

Contractual Responsibilities 

Reports to: The Technical Director, based in the UK, who will provide technical oversight of the study. The Consultant will be responsible for managing their workload and conducting the activities in a timely and efficient manner as set out in this document. The Consultant will agree the specific focus areas for the study with the Technical Director and GHP team.  The Consultant will also have regular reporting points with the Head of the Evidence and Impact Team and other GHP colleagues, as required.

The contract will run from August 2025 over a 4-month period. The Consultant will submit a technical proposal and budget of up to £20,000. The consultant will invoice GHP on a monthly basis. Please note that this is non-negotiable.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Postgraduate degree in Global Health, Public Health, Health Policy, International Development, or a related field.

· Proven experience in health systems and/or health workforce research or evaluation

· Understanding of the health partnership approach/mode, ideally involving countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, or Kenya.

· Familiarity with the health systems in Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya.  Additionally, familiarity with the Health Partnership model and the UK’s global health engagement strategies is desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

· Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including data collection, analysis, and synthesis.

· Ability to critically appraise and synthesise evidence from diverse sources (e.g., programme reports, academic literature, policy documents).

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing reports, policy briefs, or academic publications.

· Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders, including policy makers, UN agencies, regulatory bodies, academic institutions, development partners, and health workers. Competence in using research tools and software (e.g., NVivo, SPSS, Excel, or data visualization platforms).

· Ability to work independently and manage timelines for deliverables.

About the Role:

This role operates within a volunteer-led global charitable organisation with 153 Member Organisations. It provides the inspiration, knowledge and direction to continually protect and enhance WAGGGS’ rich legacy and expand its collective reach and impact. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with staff, volunteers, and attendees from across our Movement - each bringing their own unique perspectives and experiences. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Be responsible for maintaining the registration site and event website (using the events management software, Cvent) including individual event databases, providing reports as required and ensuring good communication with participants via email.

Location: This is a remote UK-based role with regular travel to CST’s national and regional events, mainly in Birmingham and London. Candidates within reasonable travel distance to these locations are preferred.

Salary: £41,603 - £45,470 a year.

Pension: We offer a workplace pension and life assurance scheme. CST makes contributions equivalent to 10% of your gross salary.

Annual leave: Initially 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with an additional two days leave after three years’ service.

Working hours: Full-time 37.5 hours.

The Professional Communities Manager leads the development, content curation, and operational delivery of CST’s 11 Professional Communities. These networks, events, and forums are a core benefit of CST membership and are provided free of charge to members.

This is a proactive, member-focused role that blends operational excellence with strategic content oversight. The postholder will work directly with community chairs, subject experts, community supporters, CST platinum partners and members to ensure that all communities are vibrant, professionally hosted, and deliver high-quality, relevant content.

The role also plays a key part in ensuring a joined-up approach to content across CST’s full range of activities, working closely with the professional learning and conference teams and partnerships to ensure alignment and maximise value for members.

Key responsibilities

 Strategic Development and Continuous Improvement

• Develop and implement strategic plans to strengthen the value, engagement, and content of CST Professional Communities.
• Set clear objectives and KPIs to monitor success and drive continuous improvement of community services.
• Regularly evaluate community activity, identifying ways to increase engagement, relevance, and impact for members.

Community Content Curation and Management

• Oversee the quality, consistency, and relevance of content across all 11 Professional Communities, ensuring alignment with member priorities and organisational objectives.
• Work in partnership with community chairs, subject experts, community supporters and CST’s platinum partnerships to proactively commission, curate, and quality-assure community content (e.g., webinars, blogs, resources, discussions).
• Work closely with the professional learning and conference teams to ensure a joined-up, coherent approach to content across CST activity, avoiding duplication and enhancing overall member value.
• Identify content gaps and work creatively, including drawing upon resources and contacts within the policy and partnership team to address them, ensuring a balanced and evolving programme across the communities.

Community Engagement and Facilitation

• Lead and facilitate virtual and in-person community events, ensuring professional delivery and high-quality member interaction.
• Support and brief speakers, chairs, and contributors to ensure a consistently excellent experience for members.
• Actively promote member engagement through community platforms and other channels, driving participation and interaction.

 Stakeholder Relationships

• Build and maintain strong relationships with CST members, community chairs, speakers, and supporters.
• Collaborate with internal colleagues across membership, communications, professional learning, policy, and conference teams to maximise the impact of community activities.
• Manage relationships with sponsors where appropriate, ensuring alignment with CST values.

Digital Platform and Event Management

• Oversee the effective use of digital and platforms (including CiviCRM and Hivebrite,) to host communities, deliver events, and share content.
• Manage operational aspects of events and online communities, ensuring smooth logistics and excellent user experience.

Data, Insight, and Reporting

• Monitor and report on community engagement, content performance, and member feedback, using data to guide improvements.
• Lead the ongoing development of data processes for the communities, ensuring accurate insights are captured and shared.

Team Leadership and Development

• Manage, develop, and support the Professional Communities Coordinator, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Encourage learning and development across the team to ensure consistently excellent member service.

Adaptability and Wider Contribution

• Contribute to broader membership engagement strategies and initiatives.

The role leverages the connections, networks, support, proposals/programmes and partnerships from across Habitat for Humanity GB and the Habitat for Humanity International network by working in collaboration, support and shared vision with others. As a member of the Fundraising and Partnerships Team the role will support and enable the development of the whole organisation. Externally, the role develops the profile of HFHGB, bringing in new relationships as well as managing existing, requiring strong oversight of fundraising and delivery.

We’re looking for a proven leader with hands-on experience in securing six and seven-figure gifts, developing high-value pipelines, and inspiring teams. The role is based remotely with frequent travel within the UK, and occasional global travel.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Strategic and operational planning and research

• Research and develop plans for fundraising from trusts, foundations, & philanthropists.  Collaborate with CEO, Board, and Development Councils to explore and equip opportunities to extend networks and relationships.
• Partnership working and development: Cultivate, secure and steward funding and relationships for HFHGB from major donors, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations. Design and implement a programme of relationship development/stewardship and cultivation events.

Management and Reporting

• Develop oversight and reporting on development and delivery of Major Donor fundraising monitoring progress against key performance indicators.
• Maintaining the database of critical information (pipeline proposals, meetings, grants and donations. 

Leadership, networking and representation

• To develop a culture of support within the organisation. To lift others up and to give voice, agency and equity to all. Contribute to the Development Team, taking the lead on cross-organisational activities.
• Collaborate with the CEO to support/enable them to develop engagement with HFHGB.  Represent HFHGB externally at a senior level, building the organisational profile.

Skills and competencies:

• Extensive knowledge of trusts, foundations and high net worth individual fundraising best practice.
• Proven experience of raising 6 and 7 figure gifts from Trusts, Foundations and High Net Worth Individuals.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic plans for high value donors/ trusts and foundations.
• A strong track record of overseeing prospect research, pipeline development and delivering growth.
• Extensive experience of producing high quality and compelling donor facing proposals, reports and other materials.
• Experience of fundraising management databases.
• Strong interpersonal and professional network development skills
