About the role:
You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside health professionals in a hospital environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse.
This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home, our office Victim Support, 3rd Floor, 5-7 Singer Street, London, and in co-location at St Georges Hospital.
As a Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
- Be comfortable with running group training sessions and be willing and able to share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital.
Please note that the successful applicant will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust in addition to their contract of employment.
You will need:
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
- Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Experience of direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
- Have strong communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
- To understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
- Strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
- Good communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.

The Positive Activities worker is a new role within the Children's Society East, offering a range of activities that supports a healthy alternative to managing a risks and vulnerabilities that otherwise could lead to long term substance use (inclusive of alcohol and tobacco).
This role links with our Essex Young People's Drug and Alcohol Service (EYPDAS). EYPDAS work with young people aged up to 25 years old who require support for substance or alcohol use. We neither condone nor condemn use but support young people on a voluntary basis to create a care plan that suits their needs and motivations. EYPDAS sits within the established All Age Recovery Co-ordination Service (AARCS), which we deliver in partnership with Open Road, supporting young people, adults and families affected by substance misuse.
In order to be successful with this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate that you have extensive experience of: -
Delivering diversionary interventions with vulnerable young people (8-25) on both a one to one and group work capacity. As well as working to support the family network.
Co-producing care plans with young people that are young people led, focusing on both a relational & strength-based approach.
Extensive partnership working in a multi-agency environment to ensure that the needs and wishes of the young person are heard and acted upon.
You will work as part of a team and need to be able to work in a flexible way which includes flexing their day and work location as need indicates, including being based in the locality office in Chelmsford and working in the home environment to increase convenience and accessibility
You will need to demonstrate that you have:
-A relevant professional qualification working with vulnerable children and families is desired e.g., Diploma/degree in social work, counselling qualification, professional youth worker or related NVQ or degree. Or Substantial relevant experience of working with vulnerable young people facing significant challenges within this sector.
-Experience of working with vulnerable young people and families that are hard to reach and from diverse backgrounds on both a one-to-one basis and through group work interventions.
-Experience of supporting adolescents who are dealing with complex and sensitive issues through offering advice and advocacy.

THE RESPONSIBILITES
SHiFT’s Data Analyst has responsibility for:
Data Collection and Management
- Support the effective use of SHiFT’s Salesforce system, ensuring accurate, timely data entry and maintenance across local Practices.
- Assist members of our local Practice Teams (Practice Coordinators and Guides) with data queries and monthly surveys.
- Coordinate and quality-assure monthly data submissions, working closely with Practice teams to ensure consistency and completeness.
- Help to develop reporting tools, dashboards, or templates on and off Salesforce to support embedding learning back into practice and more widely to contribute to our ambitions for systems change.
System Improvement and Efficiency
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline data processes.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of SHiFT’s Salesforce configuration, in collaboration with external developers and internal users.
- Help document processes and support training materials for system users.
- Navigate and innovate with different systems, including understanding the data recording systems used by Local Authorities and working with the Learning and Practice team to reduce duplication of data entry for practitioners.
Learning and Insight Generation
- Produce routine reports and data summaries for internal use, feeding into learning and influencing conversations.
- Support the Learning Team’s efforts to use data for reflection, learning, and improvement both locally and nationally.
- Contribute to longer-term work exploring integration of data across education, youth justice, social care, and health systems.

Essential
- Undergraduate level or equivalent experience in relevant subject area such as research methodologies, social research, sociology, criminology, policy etc.
- Highly developed knowledge and experience of data management systems, tools, and ability to use statistical and data analysis packages (Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or ideally Salesforce).

Aims:
- Ensure every Emergency Department and Critical Care unit has a suitable bereavement suite
- Ensure that bereavement boxes are available at each of these hospitals
- Ensure that immediate bereavement support is available for all affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide a professional counselling service and other therapies for those affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide support to individuals who witness the sudden death of a child or young person
- Provide support and training to professionals from any sector who may be affected by the sudden death of a child or young person
- To advocate and campaign on behalf of suddenly bereaved families

2wish has been established since 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. During this time, we have worked tirelessly to embed our service and ensure that the offer of support is made at the point of death.
We offer an immediate, consistent, high-quality and compassionate service to all individuals affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under in Wales. We work in partnership with professionals who refer into the charity on behalf of the families, so they don’t have to trawl through the internet for an organisation who may, or may not, be able to support. We provide immediate, and ongoing, support and are here for as long as our families need us.
Context of role:
2wish support anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person aged 25 and under. We provide immediate casework support, as well as ongoing services including counselling, complementary therapies, play therapy, coffee mornings, support events and a respite cottage.
As we continue to expand our services across England the successful candidate will play a central role in the ongoing development of our relationships with stakeholders. Initiative and drive play an integral part of ensuring our professional stakeholders remain engaged and champion our service to those we support. The post holder will provide immediate and ongoing emotional and practical support to families, friends, witnesses and professionals affected by the sudden death of a child or young adult.

- To initiate immediate support for a caseload of families whose children and young people aged 0- 25 have died suddenly and unexpectedly across the county you reside in and bordering counties
- To contact all families within 24-48 hours of the referrals by telephone
- Complete an initial assessment of families' needs to identify and plan the support as required in line with safeguarding and risk reduction
- Offer emotional support and advice to a case load of families through home visits and ongoing weekly telephone calls
- To liaise with the Counselling Support and Outreach Coordinator, who is responsible for organising formal support such as counselling, complementary therapy or play therapy, subject to consent from the bereaved individual
- To work with hospital staff, GP’s, police officers, coroner offices, mental health teams and other healthcare professionals to raise awareness of and promote referrals into the charity from the county you reside in and bordering counties
- To liaise with other professionals working alongside the family to provide a holistic and multiagency approach to support
- Attend relevant forums within the area
- To deliver awareness training in hospitals and other healthcare settings, schools and workplaces on the use of the bereavement boxes, the services we offer, ho to refer into the charity and bereavement awareness
- To ensure families have been offered a memory box and coordinate these when required
- Facilitate debriefs within professional settings following a traumatic or sudden death of a child or young person
- To work with hospital trusts to establish and maintain the upkeep of suitable bereavement suites for bereaved individuals to use as required
- Maintain stock of 2wish memory boxes and deliver boxes to partner organisations as required
- To submit monthly/quarterly/annual reports to Bereavement Services Manager as required
- To signpost and/or refer to other agencies as required that can provide support as needed
- Cover members of the support team for annual leave and/or sickness
- To travel to attend in-person team meetings and in-person training as required
- To travel to in-person events as required
General:
- To be responsible for organising own work agenda, time management and administration
- To show respect and sensitivity for the cultural and religious beliefs of families
- To undertake learning opportunities and seek them out for the team

Job Purpose
We are looking for a Neonatal Lead to join the Wakefield and Kirklees and Calderdale Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnerships (MNVP).
Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnerships are a team of people working together to improve maternity and neonatal care for local people. They hold responsibility to act as multi-disciplinary working groups with the primary function of embedding the service user experience as a method for review and co-design of maternity services.
The groups are made up of an MNVP Lead, lay roles, women and their families, healthcare professionals such as midwives, health visitors, GP’s, local commissioners, charities, and community groups.
The Neonatal Lead will play a crucial role in ensuring that the experiences and needs of families with lived experience of neonatal care are central to the development and improvement of local maternity and neonatal services across Wakefield, Kirklees, and Calderdale.
This role would suit a person who is passionate about developing neonatal care and engaging with families across Wakefield, Kirklees, and Calderdale.
The role requires some flexibility in terms of time, but we also recognise and accommodate, where possible, the other commitments you may have, including work, parenting, and other caring commitments.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Neonatal Lead will be an advocate for the service user’s voice, ensuring it is heard and considered in the planning, review, and improvement of neonatal services.
They will actively engage with families with lived experience of neonatal care, to gather feedback and understand their experiences.
They will build strong relationships with providers, commissioners, and other stakeholders to ensure that the service user voice is heard and influences decisions.
They will work to identify areas where services can be improved and advocate for changes that will enhance the quality of care for neonatal service users.
They will work closely with the Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership Leads, share engagement information with the MNVP Leads in order to support them feeding in to local and national meetings and events, in order to share the service user voice and provide independent scrutiny.

· Be one of the points of contact for neonatal enquiries to the MNVPs.
· Lead on engagement with families with lived experience of neonatal care.
· Work closely with the Wakefield and Kirklees and Calderdale MNVP Leads, for example sharing engagement data so that this can be fed into local and regional strategic meetings.
· Input as required to MNVP social media.
· Work in collaboration with the Yorkshire and Humber Neonatal Operational Delivery Network (ODN), as part of the Co-Production Meeting.

Essential
· Have lived experience, that is be a parent whose baby or babies has/have spent time in neonatal care and/or accessed Neonatal services, whether this is recently or in the past.
· Be able to champion and seek out the voices of this group to support them to be heard effectively.
· Experience of leading engagement, particularly with hard to reach groups and communities.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
· Capable of working independently and managing a varied workload.
· Have an understanding of the structure of the NHS and Neonatal services within it, particularly in the Wakefield, Kirklees, and Calderdale areas.
· Experience working with, and developing partnerships with, a range of people, including project stakeholders, diverse community groups, and other organisations.
· Experience in data analysis, both quantitative and qualitative.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Word.
· Commitment to the principles and values of Healthwatch.
· Demonstrates empathy, integrity, and a drive to influence positive change in health and social care.
· Willingness to travel within the Wakefield, Kirklees, and Calderdale area.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.

· Experience of using various engagement methodologies, including surveys, focus groups, interviews, and community meetings.
