About the Role
As our Housing Coordinator you will ensure The Angelou Centre’s refuge accommodations continue to be a safe and welcoming safe for women. You will ensure we comply with statutory building, property and Health & Safety obligations. You will be responsible for ensuring health and safety compliance, coordinating repairs and maintenance, managing tenancy-related matters, and supporting the wellbeing of women and children accessing our refuge services. You will also line mange our Refuge and Housing Support Workers and our Haven Finance Officer

- Has experience of working within property, housing or facilities management

Key Responsibilities
Refuge Management
- Ensure that the refuge (dispersed accommodation) provides a safe supportive and welcoming environment in compliance with UK housing laws and the requirements of registered social landlords.
- To ensure completion of all necessary forms including housing and welfare benefit forms.
- To liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies and networks, e.g. Housing Benefit -Networks/Housing agencies
- Action any breaches of leases or tenancy agreements promptly and efficiently to ensure compliance with lease/tenancy obligations.
- Proactively address any arrears in a timely fashion and take appropriate action to recover debts.
- Working as a key part of our management team, supporting the Executive Director with planning, monitoring, evaluation and development planning
- Encouraging a positive and supportive environment in the refuge, ensuring that women’s and children’s voices are heard and central to our services

Health & Safety

- To provide technical support on property-related problems.
- To undertake site inspections and to write follow up reports and action plans.

Line Management
- Engaging all team members in regular service reviews to promote best practice

Sustainable Merton, Merton's award winning environmental charity, is recruiting a dynamic individual to oversee our Community Changemakers initiative and deliver grassroots acitivity in Pollards Hill, Mitcham. If you are passionate about sustainability, volunteering and making a difference in a local community, we would love to hear from you!
This role combines volunteer leadership with project management. The successful candidate will split their time between:
- Project management and delivery of the WeRPollards project (2 days/week), a grassroots local initiative running from September 2025 to September 2026
- Volunteer and operational management (1 day/week), supporting the charity as a whole
You will work closely with Moat Housing to deliver the WeR Pollards Community Changemaker project and also lead the development and implementation of a new volunteering strategy, support colleagues to adopt new volunteer processes,

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
WeRPollards project management
1. Group Development and Coordination
● Coordinate and facilitate monthly volunteer meetings at the Pollards Hill Wellbeing Studio.
● Attend the Wellbeing Studio on a weekly basis, attend schools and community pop-up events to increase awareness of and community engagement in the project
● Support volunteers with soft and technical skills development on their path to becoming Community Changemakers.
● Encourage retention and progression of existing volunteers whilst increasing group membership from 15 to 30.
● Liaise with Moat Foundation officer and project tutors to establish a pathway into volunteering and increasing membership of the WeRPollards group
● Work with colleagues at Sustainable Merton to align this grass roots work with their borough wide initiatives such as Merton Garden Streets, Mitcham Community Orchard, Repair Cafes, Preloved Studio and Merton’s Community Fridge.
2. Community Engagement
● In partnership with Pollards Hill Wellbeing Studio team, develop and implement a local engagement strategy to recruit and retain volunteers to become WeRPollards Community Changemakers.
● Design and deliver an induction and training programme for new volunteers.
● In collaboration with the PH Wellbeing Studio team conduct regular listening sessions to identify resident needs, interests and connect volunteers to, or help them develop, relevant community activities.
3. Project and Event Delivery
● Lead the volunteer group to plan and deliver community activities aligned with the 3R’s agenda, that are run out of the Wellbeing Studio, including:
○ Sewing Skills Workshops (Monthly, 10 sessions)
○ Community Gardening Sessions (Min. 5 sessions)
○ Repair Shed Sessions (Monthly, 9 sessions)
○ Street Planting Engagement & Delivery (Min. 3 events)
4. Capacity Building and Progression
● Deliver at least 6 training workshops including SMART goal setting and planning.
● Support residents to lead and take ownership of initiatives and to become Community Changemakers.
● Build a clear, accessible pathway for participation and leadership within the group and studio.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting
● Track Key Performance Indicators including:
○ Volunteer numbers, growth and retention (Target: 30 volunteers, 60% retention)
○ Number of volunteer hours contributed
○ Number of accredited or certified training courses completed
○ Number of volunteers progressing into leadership roles
○ Attendance and engagement in all community sessions
● Conduct volunteer satisfaction surveys and gather qualitative feedback.
● Report quarterly on progress to PHCC meetings, outcomes and impact to the Pollards Hill Community Committee.

What the job involves
We’re looking for a Black Health Equity Engagement Officer to join our Black Health Equity and Engagement team. The team plays a key role in supporting our community engagement work by building trust and strengthening relationships with Black community organisations and leaders across the UK. The aim is to raise awareness of prostate cancer risk within Black communities and help reduce the health inequalities experienced by Black men.
As a Black Health Equity Engagement Officer, you’ll be providing the logistical support to Prostate Cancer UK’s Black Men’s Advisory Group - who provide insights, support and guidance to the charity to help us address Black health equity. You’ll attend a wide range of community events and identify ways to spread awareness and build trusting relationships with groups, organisations and networks.
By building an understanding of the ways which health inequalities impact Black men affected by prostate cancer (and their families) you’ll establish effective and efficient working practices and gather data capturing the impact of this work.
You’ll get to meet a wide range of supporters and work with Black communities to ensure their lived experiences shape our work and help to increase our number of Black volunteers to increase awareness. You’ll also get to work with different teams across the charity and act as a source of knowledge for our work in tackling health inequalities.
What we want from you
We’re looking for candidates who understand health inequalities and is able to explain how they may impact Black men affected by prostate cancer. Knowledge of, or previous involvement in health awareness initiatives would be beneficial for this role, although we also value transferable skills gained from other sectors.
You’ll have experience in organising meetings or events that cater to a diverse range of participants, ensuring that various perspectives are heard and valued, especially within Black communities.
You’ll have a proven ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with a wide array of stakeholders. Furthermore, you’ll be a great communicator, especially when engaging with community stakeholders.
Please note that community events often take place on evenings or weekends – the successful candidate will need to work flexibly to attend roughly one weekend event a month and take time back mid-week. Community awareness events will take place in the Midlands and London.

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions.

SOFT UK is a national charity supporting families affected by Trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome) and Trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome). We provide emotional support, information, advocacy, and community connections to ensure no family faces this journey alone.
Purpose of the Role
The Regional Engagement Officer (REO) for Northern Ireland will build and strengthen SOFT UK’s presence in the region. This includes supporting families, developing local community networks, enhancing relationships with healthcare professionals, and coordinating volunteer and fundraising activities to reduce isolation and improve support access for families affected by Trisomy 13 and 18.

Research Officer

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to conduct advanced statistical modelling as part of a major research project at RoSPA, funded by the Lloyd’s Register Foundation whose World Risk Poll dataset will be analysed in this work. The project will assess the links between socioeconomic inequalities and workplace harms on a global scale. You will be central to designing, conducting and writing up this ground-breaking research project with the support of the wider policy team. An ability to conduct regression analyses on large datasets, work independently, design research programmes and manage your time effectively will be crucial for this role.
This would be an ideal role for recent master’s or PhD graduates or someone completing a research degree, though we welcome candidates from all backgrounds.
Key responsibilities:
- To use advanced statistical skills (including regression analysis) and other research and writing skills to support the delivery on time and to the required standard of a report on global inequalities and workplace safety for the Lloyd’s Register Foundation Grant ‘How does inequality shape the risk of unintentional injury at work?’.
- To work with the Research Manager and Programme and Impact Manager to track and plan the delivery of this project, and to update them on progress
- To actively support the launch of the report, including through providing relevant internal stakeholders with insights into the findings and research process.
- To support the dissemination of these findings to a wide audience, including non-specialists.
- To support the wider Policy Directorate with occasional ad hoc research tasks and associated work.

Qualifications and experience:
- A postgraduate qualification in or involving a significant component on statistical methods for social sciences or public health (desirable)
- A good undergraduate degree in the above and excellent numerical literacy (essential)

OVERVIEW
This role will be a key member of our ambitious team, delivering a growing portfolio of fundraising campaigns, fundraising events, and supporter engagement initiatives. You’ll oversee our supporter journeys, manage our communications channels, and build meaningful relationships that drive income and deepen our impact.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundraising Campaigns & Income Generation
- Work with the Head of Fundraising to plan and deliver our 12-month supporter journey – including fundraising campaigns (online and offline), events and appeals.
- Manage our calendar of challenge events (e.g. The Don’s Cycle Challenge, Wombles Walk, Sponsored Skydive).
- Grow supporter-led community fundraising in the local area.
- Lead outreach to engage new local partners – including small businesses, schools and clubs – promoting fundraising opportunities and supporting their initiatives.
Communications & Marketing
- Alongside the Head of Fundraising, lead all communications for the charity.
- Create engaging fundraising content for email, website, and social media to drive online donations, event and programme sign-ups.
- Work with the wider Foundation team and club comms team to create content for social media, e-newsletters and our website.
- Promote Foundation programmes and campaigns to fans, families, and local supporters, driving participation and donations.
- Create marketing materials (posters, flyers, etc.) to support charitable prorammes and campaigns.
- Collaborate with Senior Managers to share the impact of the Foundation through monitoring and evaluation reports. Including creating the annual organsiation Impact Report.
- Manage the Foundation’s website, ensuring content is regularly updated, fully functioning, and aligned with key campaigns, events, and programmes.
Supporter Engagement & Stewardship
- Manage the supporter engagement programme, delivering a rolling 12-month plan of personalised and meaningful touchpoints.
- Develop and implement strategies to encourage increased giving and recruit new regular donors.
- Maximise engagement and retention of individual supporters (particularly low- to mid-level donors) through excellent donor care, timely thanking, and compelling communications.
- Coordinate supporter stories and participant case studies to inspire giving.
- Manage our weekly e-communications, using engaging content to recruit new subscribers and convert them into donors, event participants, or programme attendees.
Supporter Care
- Act as the first point of contact for fundraisers and donors, delivering first-class stewardship and support.
- Ensure timely, warm and effective follow-up with all supporters, helping them feel inspired, valued and connected.
Events & Community Activation
- Support the delivery of fundraising and engagement opportunities at AFC Wimbledon fixtures and stadium events.
- Represent the Foundation at local events, cheque presentations, and community partner visits.
Administration & Data Management
- Maintain accurate supporter and income records in our CRM system, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection laws.
- Liaise with the Finance Officer to process donations, including Gift Aid claims and income reconciliation.
- Provide regular fundraising reports and insights for internal and external stakeholders.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
Qualifications & Experience
- Hold a relevant higher education or industry recognised certification or have a minimum of at least 1–2 years' experience in a fundraising, communications, supporter engagement or similar role
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with supporters, partners, or donors
- Experience planning and delivering fundraising campaigns, events, or community initiatives
- Experience using digital tools for fundraising and engagement (e.g. mass email platforms, design tools, giving platforms, CRM systems)
- Experience creating digital content (e.g. website management social media, e-newsletters, case studies)

The role
Evidence and Evaluation Officers are key to generating and synthesising evidence on what works and developing resources to support its translation to policy makers, commissioners and practitioners.
The primary focus of the role is contributing to the Strengthening Families, Supporting Children programme – a flagship initiative involving three large-scale comprehensive evaluations of distinct social work practice models. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to high-impact evaluations that will directly inform national policy. You will join the project team and will work closely with other Evidence and Evaluation Officers and will be supervised by a Senior Evaluation Officer. You will also support commissioned evaluations.
About you
The role requires a strong mix of research and broader professional skills, including communication skills, initiative, and the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences. You will also need a master's degree in social science, social policy, public health, health services, or another related field, or relevant experience equivalent to a master's qualification.
You will have experience of:
- Conducting implementation and process evaluations and delivering outputs to time and to high quality
- Conducting research in sensitive and complex settings, including children’s social care
- Collecting data from children, young people, and families who may be vulnerable
- Analysing quantitative data, including survey and administrative data
- Coding qualitative data using NVivo and familiarity with different qualitative analytical methods
- Writing clear, concise, and comprehensive research reports.
