The Information Manager is a pivotal senior role within The Migraine Trust—responsible for shaping and developing all health information produced by the organisation. This role ensures that our information is accurate, accessible, evidence‑based and meets the highest national standards, including oversight of our Patient Information Forum (PIF TICK) accreditation. The health information we produce covers a wide range of topics from migraine treatments, management of migraine, latest research and migraine triggers. There is also an ongoing need to scope new information needs and, where identified, produce new information. The depth of health information we currently have and will produce in the future ensures that this role will offer plenty of opportunities to work with a range of stakeholders on a variety of information topics. We currently hold PIF TICK certification, which will be part of this role to maintain. You will help us maintain the quality of our health information and ensure that we comply with the charity’s writing style and branding.

Acting as the charity’s subject‑matter expert on migraine information, the postholder plays a vital strategic role in influencing organisational priorities, ensuring the public, healthcare professionals, policymakers and wider stakeholders have access to accurate, impactful and up‑to‑date content.

This role directly contributes to the Trust’s strategic ambitions by:

Key tasks and responsibilities

Producing and maintaining quality information

Manage The Migraine Trust’s provision of health information in line with the charity’s annual planning cycle and the PIF TICK accreditation.  This will include: -

· Lead The Migraine Trust’s health information portfolio, ensuring alignment to annual plans, organisational strategy, and PIF TICK quality standards

· Manage the full lifecycle of health information—from scoping and research to writing, expert review, design and publication

· Reviewing and updating existing information content, ensuring it is accurate, up-to-date, accessible and produced in consultation with service users and people with lived experience, relevant medical advisors, health care professionals, the charity’s staff and other relevant specialists and organisations when appropriate

· Identify emerging gaps in information and lead the development of new materials

· Identify and engage with target groups identified in our three year strategy to identify need and produce associated materials

· Support staffs learning and build knowledge of migraine

Build key strategic partnerships to assist us in disseminating information on migraine.

· Champion the use of world class health information within the organisation, as well as displaying a high level of expertise around all our health information content

· Build and maintain strategic partnerships with healthcare professionals, professional bodies, and charity sector organisations to increase reach and influence

· Represent the charity externally as a health information expert at conferences and events

· Help to support our busy communications team to help provide messaging content for videos, blogs, responses to media requests etc

· Take responsibility for the provision of printed information materials to ensure we can continue to provide resources to suit demand, in a cost-effective manner

· Work with the communications team to identify creative and accessible ways to disseminate our information to a variety of audience

· Work closely with our valued volunteer group to gain feedback and direction on all aspects of our health information

· Explore opportunities of coproduction with other charities to further our reach

Support the evaluation and impact reporting of our information provision by regularly monitoring its use using a variety of evaluation methods and produce timely and accurate reports for both internal and external use.

· Updating and maintaining the health information web pages

· Lead the monitoring and evaluation of all health information outputs

· Produce impact reports and insights to inform strategic decision‑making, fundraising proposals, research priorities and service development

· Maintain and continuously improve data‑driven approaches to evaluating reach, accessibility and effectiveness of health information

Research

A very small aspect of this role is to be the focal point for our research administration which will include:

· Being the key point of communication and support for the research committee

· Manage administrative duties relating to new applications for research funding and current grant holders

· Co-ordinate and send out papers for research meetings (once a year maximum)

· Liaising with researchers funded by the charity and ensuring project reporting is up to date

· Liaise with the AMRC as and when appropriate

· Represent the charity at appropriate external events for both the public and healthcare professionals

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a purposeful and proactive individual to work within a small (but growing), friendly and dynamic team in a varied role.

We are expanding our team and so we are looking for a Research and Impact Manager. This hands-on role would suit an insightful, evidence driven researcher and monitoring and evaluation specialist and who is a strong partnership worker. We are looking for someone who is willing to step up when something is needed and determined to see things through. 

You will need to enjoy working proactively and flexibly in a fast-paced environment, and have a logical, systematic approach, as well as excellent communication and IT skills. Our team works remotely, but there are also opportunities to co-work (depending on location). You’ll be encouraged and supported to grow and develop your research and impact evaluation skills and expertise within this role.

Responsibilities

Working closely with the Warm Welcome Operations Director and wider team your primary responsibility will be to lead on research and impact evaluation to ensure that our strategic approach is driven by evidence. You would take ownership of specific tasks as required, including;

Research:

• Developing a research strategy for the Warm Welcome campaign to help to ensure we can meet our overall campaign strategy.

• Leading on the co-design of research projects to meet the needs of the Warm Welcome campaign and our partners. 

• Developing a research and insights hub for the Warm Welcome team where they can easily access the latest statistics on relevant topics such as poverty and loneliness.

• Supporting any individuals or organisations undertaking research on behalf of the Warm Welcome campaign to ensure it is of a high quality and rigorous standard.

• Ensuring high ethical standards and safeguarding are maintained in any research project related to the Warm Welcome campaign.

• Sharing the results of this research in reports and presentations where key evidence and learning is easy for others to understand 

• Offering training and support to the Warm Welcome team related to research.

Impact Assessment:

• Supporting the continuous development of our Impact framework.

• Leading the collection of high-quality data, via methods such as survey design, polling and qualitative interviews, with the wider Warm Welcome team and Spaces network to help us to monitor, evaluate, learn and develop our collective impact.

• Ensuring we collect data with Warm Welcome spaces at every stage of their journey in joining the network, i.e. when they register to join and at regular intervals once registered to ensure we understand their impact and their support needs. 

• Developing evaluation tools and systems to ensure the Warm Welcome team are easily able to capture evidence related to our impact framework.

• Offering training and support to the Warm Welcome team related to monitoring, evaluation, learning, development and impact assessment

• Leading on partnership work related to monitoring, evaluation, learning, development and impact assessment for the Warm Welcome team

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Policy and Public Affairs Manager to join our Research, Policy and Impact team.

Supporting the Head of Cancer Insight, you will continue to develop and deliver a policy and public affairs strategy, including influencing at a local, regional, and national level, with the aim of helping the charity achieve its strategy and bringing benefit to the people of Yorkshire. You will develop evidence-based policy reports and recommendations that can be used to influence a variety of audiences and project manage the development, delivery and evaluation of public affairs campaigns and events. As Policy and Public Affairs Manager, you will also act as a source of expertise across the organisation and externally on key policy areas and the wider policy environment.

Specifically, you will:

Influencing

· Support the further development, refinement and delivery of the charity’s influencing strategy and impact evaluation process, in line with the charity’s own strategic ambitions.

· Lead the development of insightful written materials and reports to aid influencing.

· Lead the charity’s response to regional and national consultations relevant to cancer in Yorkshire, making a robust and evidence-based case for the charity’s position.

· Oversee the continued growth of the charity’s political monitoring work and ensure the effective pursuit of every opportunity offered.

· Engage with regional and national decision makers to influence policy-making for the benefit of people in Yorkshire and beyond.

· Grow relationships with key stakeholders across Yorkshire and beyond (such as DHSC, NHSE, Integrated Care Boards, Cancer Alliances, national policy groups, and other charities, to influence change based on policy recommendations.

Policy development

· Support the continued development of the policy production and dissemination process, including the policy development pathway, internal/external dissemination and impact evaluation.

· Lead the research, production and dissemination of high quality, evidence-based cancer-related policies and the strategic development of key policy recommendations.

· Oversee regular updates of existing policies and position statements, ensuring that topical policies are updated frequently.

· Ensure external insight is built into policies and policy development, such as gaining views from the Patient and Public Involvement Community, the inclusion of external patient and public contributors and endorsements from clinical and academic experts.

· Oversee work with relevant internal teams to create key messages for a range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring these are in line with the latest evidence and are used correctly, and provide expert commentary on media stories.

· Act as a source of expertise on the charity’s cancer-related policies and position statements, both internally and externally. Undertake media interviews as required to communicate key messages with the public.

Campaigns and Events

· Project manage the development, delivery and evaluation of public affairs campaigns, in collaboration with the Brand and Relationships team where relevant, manage relationships with third parties to support campaign delivery where required.

· Lead the outreach and delivery of influencing events, including visits to charity-funded projects and party conference activity.

· Further develop and deliver of a strategy for growing and maintaining a handraiser supporter base, to enhance public affairs campaigns activity.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

· To have a degree in a relevant subject area, for example public policy, public health, scientific, medical etc.

· To have substantial experience of writing influencing materials such as briefings, letters, blogs, campaign materials.

· To have substantial experience supporting the implementation of high impact campaigns that engage the public and are designed to influence. Experience of working on campaigns that encourage behaviour change.

· To have experience of evaluating campaigns, and assessing the impact of policy and public affairs activities.

· To have excellent Public Affairs experience including understanding of local, regional and national government, the current health policy landscape as well as knowledge of UK parliamentary processes along with a proven track-record of engaging politically to make change happen.

The role

People living with migraine are at the heart of our organisation, while our research highlights the urgent need to reduce the inequity we see for those living with the condition. You’ll work closely with the CEO and be a key member of The Migraine Trust’s Senior Management team, leading our strategic direction on communications activity alongside targeted public and political campaigns.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of the organisation’s 2026 policy and communications plans and coordinate the development of plans and budgets for 2027
• Oversee development and delivery of the charity’s policy and public affairs strategy, ensuring a strong evidence base and meaningful involvement of people living with migraine
• Manage work our public affairs agency to deliver targeted influencing projects to improve migraine care, workplace support, and parliamentary engagement
• Shape policy recommendations and develop strategies to engage key stakeholders including parliamentarians, policymakers, clinicians, employers and partner organisations
• Monitor the external policy environment identifying risks, opportunities and emerging issues relevant to migraine
• Work with the team to develop and execute creative and impactful communications campaigns to raise the profile of the charity and tackle misunderstanding around migraine

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that strengthens the capacity of the Global South to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that the Global South should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions. The initiative has been working in different forms for over a decade, and our work receives worldwide coverage and widespread acclaim.

Rather than lobbying for outcomes, Degrees aims to support informed, independent policymaking by fostering connections between researchers and policymakers and strengthening institutional expertise. Responsibilities

The Policy and Engagement Manager, Africa will strengthen the voice of the Global South in discussions and potential negotiations on SRM research and governance with relevance to Africa by connecting experts to policy processes. Accordingly, the successful candidate will: 

• Identify and engage key policy actors (e.g. national delegates and legislators, scientific advisors, intergovernmental officials) in Africa, connecting them to local SRM experts and providing them with information, where appropriate, while remaining neutral regarding the potential use and governance of SRM;
• Work with SRM researchers from the region to support the ongoing development of a coordinated community of experts; 
• Build informal and formal partnerships with like-minded organisations, helping to inform discussions and counter misinformation about climate and SRM.
• Share expertise and experience gained from Africa with staff and researchers and participate, as appropriate, in activities in Asia and the Pacific and Latin America and the Caribbean to gain similar expertise;
• Identify the most impactful international forums and regional SRM discussions, and work to connect local experts into these;

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support an exciting project called the State of the Climate for the Agri-Food Sector, which we are delivering in partnership with the Met Office. This project aims to contribute to the evidence base of current impacts of climate change on the agri-food sector in the UK. This role is ideal for someone with strong research skills and an interest in weather and climate and the influence on the agri-food sector.

Roles and Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for the following but will be expected to meet with the project team once a month and come to the kick-off meeting and launch event. There is also scope for involvement in the communication and dissemination of the work throughout the program.

The responsibilities and timeline are set out as follows:

Required Skills and Competencies

Essential:

• Hold or carrying out a research degree and be either a student or an early career researcher/professional (i.e. MPhil, MSc, PhD); Background or strong interest in agri-food, weather and climate is highly preferred.
• Experience in academic or applied research including with quantitative analysis. Strong analytical skills.

Funding: The salary range is £30,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience. This is advertised as a full-time position; however, we are open to flexible arrangements. The Role 

We are currently looking for a Retail Van Driver to join our Retail, Services and Operations team.

Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be part of the team responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the donation centre and warehouse. The primary focus of this role is to deliver stock to our retail shops across Yorkshire in a timely manner. However, at busy times you will also be required to assist with general maintenance tasks and supporting with the removal of general waste through the appropriate channels whilst working in compliance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and our Driving for Work policy. 

Specifically, you will: 

• Carry out deliveries of donated stock to shops ensuring that the shops receive the stock that they have requested from the Donation Centre. 

• Complete collections of furniture and goods across Yorkshire, including the disposal of waste materials, as directed. 

• Assist with the moving of furniture and other goods between shops and the Donation Centre. There will also be a requirement to collect goods from donors. 

• Be responsible for day-to-day vehicle maintenance, including completion of the weekly vehicle maintenance checklist and daily visual checks. 

• Ensure charity vehicles are left secure, clean and presentable at the end of the day and ensure any vehicle defects and damage promptly are reported in accordance with charity procedures. 

• Be an ambassador for the charity whilst driving branded vehicles, ensuring that you drive carefully and mindfully of other road users. 

• Create a positive, professional, warm welcome for all visitors. 

• Seek opportunities to actively engage with visitors to enhance their visit and further promote the profile of the charity. 

• Be responsible for conducting an initial assessment of the quality of goods collected, including furniture which will include declining donations that are unsuitable for sale and may contravene the Sales of Goods Act 1979. 

• Be knowledgeable about, and an ambassador for the charity so that you are able to answer questions and answer any queries. 

• Promptly report any accidents, incidents or unsafe occurrences to the Facilities Manager via the charity reporting procedure.
