Working with our community of brain injury survivors, volunteers and staff, you will co-produce content that shares our stories, increases awareness and broadens our reach.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications Delivery

• Deliver and support the implementation of our communications and marketing strategy across all channels (digital and print.

• Lead on a regular calendar of activity across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, BlueSky, YouTube) to maintain and grow a network of online supporters.

• Lead on maintaining and developing content for the Headway East London website (using WordPress and Elementor), including blog posts, service pages and events.

Community & Co-Production

• Work with our members (services users - people with brain injury), volunteers and staff to co-create content that reflects their voices and experiences.
• Ensure accessibility is embedded in all communications, including use of plain English, inclusive visuals, and a variety of formats.
• Engage the wider Headway East London community in developing campaigns, storytelling, and communications planning.

 Campaigns, Partnerships & Income Generation

• Support fundraising and development teams to plan and deliver digital campaigns that increase donations, engagement and awareness.

• Explore opportunities for brand development, partnerships and earned media that align with our values and strategic priorities.

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with local and national media outlets and stakeholders

Internal Communications

• Support internal communication needs across the organisation, helping teams stay informed and connected across multiple sites.
• Help develop internal resources and templates that enable teams to produce consistent, values-led communications.

British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) is seeking to appoint an outstanding Executive Assistant (Governance Officer).

The post holder will work closely with elected Officers, the board and CEO to support delivery of BASHH core membership services and ensure the highest standards of governance and oversight. The first port of call for many BASHH members, this person will have a key role in supporting excellent member services and communications. Their support will enable the President, CEO and Officers to lead effectively in their respective areas.

Joining at an exciting time for BASHH, with the organisation transitioning to an in-house model of operating some of its core functions, the post-holder will join a new, small staff team. A strong collaborator, they will work with a wide network of stakeholders, including highly committed clinicians and other health care providers on the BASHH board and membership.

SCOPE OF WORK

1. Grantmaking Due Diligence & Onboarding

• Coordinate the collection, review, and secure storage of due diligence documentation from prospective grantees.

• Assist with risk screening checks and internal reviews in alignment with Purposeful’s grantmaking policies.

• Prepare grantee onboarding documentation, including grant agreements and orientation materials.

• Track submission of required onboarding documents (e.g., bank forms, MoUs, safeguarding policies).

• Monitor and keep track of the grants due for payment.

• Respond to grantee and applicant inquiries and proactively update them on the status of their grant awards.

2. Grant Compliance & Documentation

• Monitor compliance status of all active grants, flagging outstanding requirements and follow-up needs.

• Ensure that compliance-related deadlines (e.g. reporting dates, grant conditions) are met and documented.

• Maintain clean, well-organised, and accessible digital grant files, using existing tools or systems (e.g., Google Drive, Netsuite, Salesforce, etc.) to ease retrieval and generation of reports.

• Support internal checks to ensure that funds are disbursed in line with compliance protocols and funding agreements.

3. Finance Coordination

• Liaise with the finance team to prepare and verify payment documents, banking instructions, and payment schedules.

• Support alignment between grant budgets and payment disbursements.

• Track the movement of funds across grants, ensuring appropriate documentation is in place for each transaction.

4. Donor & Internal Reporting

• Assist in preparing compliance-related sections of donor reports and internal grantmaking summaries.

• Track reporting obligations by donor or partner, and ensure all documentation is collected and filed on time, including any relevant country-specific compliance requirements.

5. Audit & Policy Support

• Prepare documentation for internal and external audits, including sampling, document summaries, and data extractions.

• Assist in developing and maintaining internal tools (templates, checklists, trackers) related to grant compliance.

• Contribute to ongoing improvements in Purposeful’s compliance systems, bringing in lessons learned and audit feedback, and emerging regulatory or legal considerations relevant to our work.

This is a remote position with some preference for London UK, Freetown Sierra Leone or Nairobi Kenya

Scope of Work

1. Financial Data Entry & Reconciliation

• Enter and reconcile day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system, including expenses, transfers, payments, and receipts.

• Ensure all entries are accurately coded to the appropriate cost centres, grants, or funding streams.

• Review and reconcile staff expense claims, payment vouchers, and supporting documentation.

2. Budgeting & Grant Allocations

• Support the allocation of expenditure to budget lines across multiple funding sources, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.

• Maintain the habit to monitor actual spend against budgets using existing systems (Netsuite), highlighting any anomalies or risks.

• Assist in the preparation of internal budget summaries and financial snapshots for program and leadership teams.

3. Financial Reporting

• Assist in compiling donor financial reports by collecting, reviewing, and formatting financial data in line with donor requirements.

• Liaise with grants and programme teams to ensure alignment between financial and narrative reports.

• Maintain up-to-date and audit-ready documentation to support all reporting outputs.

4. Managing Fiscal Sponsorship Financial Reports

• Ensuring that income from fiscal sponsorship partners are accurately recorded

• Preparing regular income and expenditure reports for fiscal sponsorship partners and addressing reconciling items. 

• Represent the Finance team in update meetings with potential  or current fiscal partners.

5. Audit & Compliance Support

• Organise financial documentation and support sampling processes during internal and external audits.

• Maintain orderly and accessible digital and physical filing systems for all financial records.

• Support implementation of financial policies, templates, and compliance checks, working closely with the Head of Finance.

Job Title: Experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IOs) for Stage 2 Complaints (This role sits within our Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) service)

Contract: Associate

Hours: Variable, according to demand for services/caseload and role in investigation

Salary: £25.25 per hour

Location: Associate Independent Investigating Officers for Complaints primarily work from home. Some travel may be required as part of an investigation – location will vary according to the referral received from the Local Authority. Cases will be allocated to Associate IOs living locally to the referring authority, wherever possible.

About the role

We are seeking additional experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IO) for Complaints, to increase our capacity to respond to referrals from Local Authorities to provide an independent element to the formal Stage 2 investigations under the Children Act 1989.

The IO will lead investigations, and will give the complainant (who may be a child, young person or adult) the opportunity to express their view, ensure the child or young person’s rights and best interests are at the centre of the investigation and that the investigation/review process is open and transparent. They write a report on the investigation/review, which is submitted to the referring agency.

The Job Description document sets out the expectations for an Associate Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) who is approved by Coram Voice. IPCs are independent, freelance and responsible for their own work. Nevertheless, IPCs are accountable to the organisation for their professional standards and are expected to comply with Coram Voice Code of Ethics and Practice Guidelines.

Please note: the nature of associate work means that we cannot guarantee a regular amount of work, and complaints will be allocated dependent on the associate’s availability, location and the needs and demands of the individual case. About the role

This is a hugely exciting time to be joining Galop, with flexibility to think long term about how best to drive change and do something new and different. Whilst Galop has always advocated for policy change, this role is part of a new, growing team specifically focused on evidence-based policy change. The team is led by the Director of Policy and Evidence and composed of a Research Manager, Survivor Engagement Manager, Research Officer and this Policy Officer role.

We are building an effective Policy and Evidence team, rooted in frontline insights, a formal research programme, and opportunities to make change happen for LGBT people at a pivotal time. We work alongside Government ministers and officials, parliamentarians and regional authorities at the highest level to make evidence-based policy change.

As the Policy Officer, you will report to the Director of Policy and Evidence and work alongside the team to deliver Galop’s policy priorities, with support. You will also work closely with the Communications and Fundraising team and our Services.

You will be expected to:

• Undertake desk-based research, alongside using Galop’s own research, to support evidence-based policy analyses and positions.
• Draft policy briefings, research summaries, consultation responses, letters, reports, newsletters and stakeholder communications
• Research and track policy developments, political landscape changes, and other relevant areas to identify opportunities to further Galop’s objectives.
• Monitor and report on parliamentary activities, government announcements, and consultations relevant to LGBT victims/survivors.
• Assist the team to deliver funded influencing projects such as a mapping study of LGBT accessible support services across London, by supporting the Director to work with decision makers to make system-change happen across London.
• Support collaboration across Galop to ensure policy positions reflect the lived experiences of our frontline services and service users.
• Help build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including civil servants, parliamentarians, and external partners.

About the Role

As a Caller Support Officer, you will:

• Help manage support for callers with complex mental health needs, ensuring appropriate boundaries and reducing dependency on the service.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who:

• Has experience with working in a helpline setting, to support volunteers to deliver safe and effective emotional support to individuals in distress or with complex emotional/mental health needs, ideally in a helpline setting.
• Understands safeguarding legislation and has experience applying it in practice.
• Is confident managing sensitive and sometimes confrontational situations.
• Can work independently and manage a varied workload effectively.
• Has experience working with external agencies such as police and court officials.
• Is emotionally resilient and able to handle distressing information with professionalism and care.

What skills are you looking for?

• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience working as a researcher or evaluation specialist, ideally in health

• Knowledge of behavioural research evidence, ideally relevant to cancer prevention, early diagnosis and cancer treatment

• Extensive experience carrying out quantitative and qualitative analysis (e.g. statistical significance testing, thematic analysis)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to flex communication style to suit a range of professional and lay audiences

• Project management experience with the ability to prioritise effectively, balancing project level tasks with strategic focus 

• Ability to quickly analyse and draw robust conclusions from scientific papers and reports

• Demonstrated experience in survey design and analysis

Overview

The DfE has nominated CST as the employer representative for academy trusts for specific purposes (for example, the school support staff negotiating body).  The postholder will be required to work directly with the Department for Education at a senior level to undertake the duties associated with this employer representative role.  CST also wishes to strengthen its support to members on wider matters of employer policy. There is significant scope to shape and develop this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Have a detailed understanding of the terms and conditions of employment of teaching and support staff and the workforce issues affecting the education sector, particularly those influencing recruitment and retention of staff.

• The ability to build relationships with key stakeholders (members, senior DfE officials and ministers) and work closely with other employer representative organisations.

• Working closely with the CEO and Deputy CEO, build relationships at senior level with trade unions (leadership, teacher and support staff unions).

• Lead on developing CST’s employer policy and guidance, working with our members and commanding their support and respect, and working closely with the policy team.

• Support the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Public Affairs and Policy to influence and respond to government policy in respect of employer policy, including drafting responses to government consultations and being our representative on the DfE’s formally constituted groups.

• Provide professional support and guidance to members on matters relating to employer policy, within the restrictions of what we are insured to do as a professional body.

• Support our HR professional community.

• Speak with authority at events and conferences as CST’s nominated representative on employer policy.

• Offer support to the wider CST policy team in other areas that fall within the postholder’s experience or expertise. This may include occasionally deputising for other team members for example covering for annual leave or sickness absence.

• Any other duties and responsibilities that may be delegated by the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive or Director of Public Affairs and Policy from time to time.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Likely educated to degree level (or holding a similar professional qualification or experience) with significant knowledge and experience of employment matters within the education sector and employer policy.

• The ideal candidate will have experience working at senior level likely within an educational, policy or consultancy setting. Knowledge of schools and the trust sector is essential as is the ability to respond to issues in a way which conveys the practical realities of working in schools.

• A sound understanding of the differences between academy trusts and the maintained sector.

• Secure knowledge of legislation, regulations and policy that affect school trusts.

• Authority and gravitas with the ability to speak up at meetings with senior officials with the required diplomacy and at all times with the members’ interests in mind.

• People-centred, with excellent relational skills, adept at forming and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, members and senior external stakeholders (including policy makers, employer representative organisations and trade unions).

• Output focused, able to execute a range of communications across channels efficiently.

• Fluent and precise, an excellent communicator who writes well.

• The ability to analyse detail and distil key points, identifying matters of concern or interest to school trusts.

• Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines, including turning around high-quality responses to members and DfE in short timescales.

Pause works to improve the lives of women who have had more than one child removed from their care, and the services and systems that affect them.

As Communications and Policy Officer, your role will be to raise awareness and increase understanding of Pause and the experiences of the women we work with in order to achieve positive change at both a national and local level.

This is a new role, sitting within the Partnerships and Engagement team, although you will work with colleagues across the whole organisation.

You will work with the team to influence change by delivering creative communications activity and maintaining excellent working relationships with key stakeholders. This will involve working closely with our Impact and Influencing Lead as well as our colleagues in practice, participation and engagement, so that you can learn from those with lived experience and ensure their voices are at the forefront.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to deliver creative communications to influence change. You also should have a real desire to create positive change in the services and systems that affect the lives of women who have had children removed from their care.

We also work with other relevant trade associations on an international level to share best practice and ensure we are able to react to and shape policy on a global basis.

What you’ll be doing 

The post holder will help advance Ukie’s policy work on aspects of UK and international policy impacting the games and interactive entertainment industry through: 

• Monitoring policy changes and providing in-depth analysis, research, and reports for internal stakeholders. 

• Relationship building and engagement with Ukie members and wider sector stakeholders, including attendance at internal and external stakeholder meetings and coalition industry groups. 

• Support the Senior Policy Manager in research and drafting for Ukie’s external consultation responses, co-ordinating with members and facilitating internal forums for discussions on particular issues. 

• Support in organising events and engagement with policy makers within Whitehall, Westminster, the Devolved Governments and with regional, combined and local authorities as well as with our global partners in the EU, US and further afield.

• Assisting the policy and research teams with major public affairs projects and campaigns according to the Ukie’s internal strategy and drawing on Ukie’s internal data and external partners where appropriate. 

• Supporting and promoting Ukie at external political meetings, including our bi-annual Westminster Games Week. 

• Support in raising the profile of Ukie and its significant policy priorities through external communications in partnership with the Ukie campaigns team, and through public scrutiny such as the use of written parliamentary questions. 

• Acting as the lead point of contact for the APPG on Video Games and Esports to which Ukie acts as the secretariat and taking joint responsibility for liaising with its members. 

• Draft external policy communications such as the Ukie Policy Byte, the bi-weekly political newsletter, with support from Senior Policy Manager and Head of Policy where necessary. 

• Be responsible for the team administration of internal stakeholder meetings, including sending out invites, taking minutes and preparing relevant material as well as maintaining up to date email lists of all stakeholders. 

Relationship Management 

• Develop and maintain relationships with games industry member businesses and a wide range of external bodies; including partner organisations, government officials and other trade bodies. 

• Support the Senior Policy Manager and Head of Policy in the management of Ukie’s internal stakeholder groups – including Ukie’s policy group and its various working sub groups. 

• Maintain stakeholder engagement trackers and act as a point of contact for external engagement with Parliamentarians, regional politicians and their offices. 

• Support the Head of Policy and Chief Executive in any external engagements. 

• Support the policy team and wider Senior Management team with other reasonable tasks as required. 

Qualifications and experience required for this role: Qualified by experience. You don’t need to hold a degree to apply for this role, but experience of working in a policy or government affairs facing role, public affairs agency or regulatory environment would be advantageous. On-the-job training will be provided via Ukie or external providers where appropriate and will be part of a structured development plan.  

  Hours of Work:  

• Monday to Friday – 9.00am to 5.30pm 

• Expectation that some evening and weekend work may be required to attend or run Ukie events as the business requires.

Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) is seeking our next Executive Director to lead our small, dynamic charity. You will be joining an impactful local organisation at a crucial time in our development. Since 2021 we have grown significantly and sustainably, developing new services based on client needs. You will be leading a highly competent and passionate team who are community minded and experts in their fields. 

The Executive Director has overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the charity, including finance and fundraising, as well as supporting the development and delivery of services. They will work with four experienced project leads to deliver and develop our core services: Casework and Advocacy Service, Rainbow Club Supplementary School, Destitution Service and Food Bank, and our Allotment of Refuge, as well as our Policy and external influencing work led by our Deputy Director for Casework and Policy. 

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate who can balance the demands of strategic leadership with the operational execution and development of our services and policy work. We are seeking someone with a high level of operational skill and accountability in operational management and governance. You will be responsible for the central services of the charity including finance, fundraising, legal, HR and communications. You should have experience and understanding of small charities and the external context within which we operate.

In addition, we hold a monthly Members Forum, and use the evidence from our frontline work together with the testimony of our members to influence improved policy and practice.

The team is 7 people strong and sits in the Advocacy and Activism branch of the Communications, Policy, and Campaigns division.  The Activism and Advocacy branch includes the Research, Public Affairs, Digital Campaigns and Community Organising teams. Using the latest data, research and intelligence from our services, we analyse the problems in our housing system and identify effective and creative solutions.
